Clarke had found me while I was working and told me I was next to talk to my mother. I walked into the tent quickly and sat down in front of the monitor and placed the head phones over my ears. I could not help but smile a little I was going to see my mom for the first time in what felt like forever.
As I looked at the screen a man showed up and sat down. It took me a second to realize that it was Commander Shumway. What was he doing here? This could not be good.
"Where's my mom?" I asked him.
"You can see her after you and I have a little talk. Are you alone?" He asked me.
"Yeah. Why?" I answered him.
"If I remember right you beat a man to death." He told me.
It was not something I liked to talk about or even think about. It was not one of my greatest moments.
"He stole from me." I told him sternly trying to defend my actions.
"Relax." Shumway told me.
"I have a problem and I think you can help me fix it, and in return I can guarantee your mom a spot on the first drop ship. And for you a choice assignment when I get to the ground." He told me.
I did not have to think about what he said at all. If it would get my mom down here I would do anything he asked me to do.
"What do you want me to do?" I asked him.
"Kill Bellamy Blake." He told me.
At first I did not think he was being serious. Bellamy Blake was the leader of this camp. He is constantly surrounded by people who are loyal to him. How was I supposed to kill him? But the look on Shumway's face told me he was being completely serious.
"Fine." I answered him.
"Good. Your mother will be happy to hear that she will get to see you in person soon." He told me.
"How do you want me to do it?" I asked him.
"I don't care, just do it quietly. Hess the only one who needs to die." He told me.
"Can I talk to my mom now?" I asked him.
"I just need one more thing from you." He answered.
"What?" I asked him.
"I need to talk to Dahlia, Dahlia Tullie." He told me.
"Why?" I asked him.
"I need to talk to her." He told me.
That was it, that was all he said. I did not understand. First he tells me to Kill Bellamy and now he wants to talk to the one person in his posy who could possibly stop me from doing just that.
"Fine." I say as I get up to leave.
I walked outside and grabbed the first kid I saw.
"Hey you watch the tent. Don't let anyone inside. I am going to get Dahlia. She is next." I told him.
He looked at me and seemed to be a little scared. He quickly ran over to the flap of the tent and stood in front of it.
I looked around the camp for Dahlia and found her talking to Bellamy. I took a deep breath and walked over to the two of them.
"Dahlia." I said to her when I was standing just a few feet away.
She turned and looked at me confused. I understood how she was looking at me. I had not said two words to her sense we were landing. I did not even think she knew who I was.
"Yes." She answered me.
"You're up. Your family is waiting." I told her.
She looked at me and then back to Bellamy who had took the moment her eyes were on me as a chance to basically run away from her. She looked back at me and then walked off to the tent. She did not say a word to me she just walked away. So I turned and followed Bellamy who seemed to be leaving camp with Clarke.
