"Killing?" I questioned.

My grandma rolled her eyes and placed a hand on her hip. "You know, you can play the part of being smart, but in reality you are dumb. You know that right?"

I shrugged my grandmother off. I didn't care about her. I let my eyes fall to my tied up sister, and I walked around my father and dropped to my knees and began to untie my little sister.

"Of course, she ignores what her elders have to say and just-"

"Mom, shut up. Let them have their small, and short lived reunion."

I didn't want to look into my sister's eyes, but I knew I had to. I glanced up to my sister's tear stricken face, and wiped away her tears and pushed some hairs that had matted to her forehead, away to the crown of her head. When I finally glanced into my sister's eyes, I could see the guilt, sadness and happiness rolled in and rolling on top of each other. How I had longed for the moment to be able to see my sister again, just..not under these circumstances.

"Hurry up and untie her, so we can hear her scream about how we mistreated her and blah blah."

My dad turned towards my grandma and gave her a look. "I will give you one more chance to shut the hell up. If not, you're going to regret it."

My grandma rolled her eyes again, but quietly shut up. I glanced over at my dad and he gestured for me to continue untying my sister.

I did as I was told. I removed the binding from my sister's mouth and she didn't say a word. I didn't expect her to say anything either. Star didn't even move from her spot, so I closed the distance between us. I wrapped my arms tightly around my sister. Even if we were going to die, at least I got to hold her one last time.

"Got nothing to say huh?"

Neither of us responded to whomever was talking and I continued to hold my little sister. So many things were running through my head, so many things I wanted to ask, talk and tell her about but I knew; this was not the time. Whatever we said would more than likely be used against us later on. I knew, however; we were going to die I would do everything in my power to make sure she wouldn't die.

"You know, this isn't how I saw this going down."

Had I been paying attention, I would have seen the glare on my father's face that was directed towards my grandma. Had I also been paying attention I would have noticed that my dad brought the butt of a gun down on my grandmother's head.

"I said, shut up woman. If you say one more word I'm going to kill you first."

My dad strode over to Star and I and crouched down to our level. Out of instinct I cradled my sister closer and put myself in between my dad and sister.

"Still offering yourself up to your old man huh?"

Not bothering to give him the satisfaction that my skin was crawling, and my stomach was trying to hold down what little bit of food I ate earlier, I continued to stare my father down.

"Why?" I whispered

My dad chuckled. "Still so curious I see." My dad stood up and walked towards the open window. He held his hands outward away from his body. "You don't remember this place do you?"

I glanced around the empty room. Why would I remember an empty living room? I didn't get a chance to voice my question out loud.

"You were born here."

My face drew into a confusion.

"Your mother, she used to hold you in front of the window when you were a few days old to help get you some sunlight. You always loved the sunlight."

I could feel Star's gaze on the side of my face, while I kept my eyes trained on my dad. He stood at the window and continued to look outside at the dark neighborhood. My dad's face turned into a smile while a memory took him over. Eventually, the memory faded away, and the grin stayed on my dad's face. He turned towards us.

"Your mother loved this house. She would spend hours in the garden while you ran around the backyard chasing butterflies and anything else that flew into our backyard." My dad slowly walked towards Star and I, and I went back into my protective mode. "I think that's when I fell in love with you Taylor. I knew then, you were my little girl and no one, would ever touch you. Not unless they were worthy."

I gulped.

"We lived a good life, then Star was born." My dad smiled at Star. "I thought my life wouldn't be any better. I would be madly in love with three of the greatest women in my life, until..well...I think we all know the next part."

I didn't have to look at Star to know that she hung her head. I squeezed her arm while keeping my eyes trained on my father.

"Then it became clear as to what needed to happen. I would take care of my little girls."

This is when I decided to tune out. I knew how well that went, he decided to turn me into a woman way before my time.

"Can we just get to the point as to why you even went as far as to start a...killing party as you and grandma call it?" I cried out.

"You lost that right to call me that!" My grandma cried out.

My dad sighed, turned towards my grandmother; aimed the gun and shot her in between the eyes.

Star screamed and my eyes just widened at the loud gunshot. Star began to cry as my grandma fell forward on her face. The blood began to pool out of her and began to stain the carpet.

"I told you, don't say another word unless I ask for your help." My dad yelled while still pointing the gun in my grandmother's direction.

I pulled Star closer to me and tried to quiet her down. That's all we would need is for my dad to decide to shoot Star for crying about witnessing her grandmother being shot in the head. My dad stood up from his crouched position and walked back to the window. He laid the gun on the windowsill and gazed back out into the neighborhood.

"Well, now we don't have much time left. The neighbors will look outside and try to guess where the noise came from." My dad placed his hands behind his back. "To answer your question Taylor, we are all going to die as a family because the only way any of us can be together is in the after life."

"Frankly, I'm tired of running after you, and your sister isn't quite..cooperative anymore like she used to be. I miss your mother, and I know your mother misses you as well. Don't you miss your mom?"

I knew my dad was waiting for me to answer, but I couldn't answer because I was still in shock about my sister, my dad and I all dying together so we would be..undisturbed and be a normal family.

The fuck?

"Dude, where did Taylor go?"

I had both of my hands full with two cups of the promised punch. One for Taylor, one for me. While I waited my turn in line, I had a talk with myself. I would not say anything else weird, or nerve racking outside of my mind while in the presence of Taylor.

Everyone shrugged. "She said something about going to see Martha, but Martha is sitting with us. In spirit of course."

Everyone looked over at Ryan. Ryan was a bit busy with Violet and winning a round of tick tack toe against her.

With a sigh, I set both of the cups of punch down. It was time to go and find Taylor. Maybe I scared her off? Gabi and Kelsi could tell that I was going to start my search, so they stood up and we went on a search to find Taylor.

The girls suggested that they would check the bathroom, and I suggested that I would check outside in case Taylor decided to get some air. As I opened the gym door, a cool breeze flitted through me. Even though I had my suit jacket on, I was still a bit cold. I scanned the area, while looking for something to keep the door propped open.

"Oh hey man, thanks for keeping the door open."

Turning towards the voice, it was the door man that helped the girls come through the door at the start of the dance. I nodded towards him, and opened the door wider for him.

"Oh hey wait." I grabbed the guy's arm.

"Sup?"

"You seen the Belle girl come out here while you were out here?"

The door man, took one final drag of his cigarette before he threw it away from him. "No, I—Actually no I did. I saw her running after some girl. She was calling out to this girl..Star? I think that's what she was saying."

Star?

I nodded into the dark backyard. "Do you know which way she ran?"

The door man nodded towards the field. "That way."

I nodded once again in thanks and stayed outside a bit longer. Could..Taylor have just ran off because she was..done with prom? I shook my head. Taylor wouldn't just leave, not without saying something first. I continued to ponder, when the door opened again and the girls found me.

"Any luck?"

"The door guy said that Taylor ran through the field."

Gabi and Kelsi looked at each other with gaped mouths.

"And the best part? She was running behind some girl calling her..Star."

Gabi cocked her head. "As in..her sister Star?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "That's what the guy said."

Gabi held onto her elbows and took in my words. We stood there for a few minutes and I kept looking in the direction of where Taylor "took" off in.

"You know it's killing you to not go and look, Chad."

I looked over at short person and realized that I did have a look on my face that confirmed what she said. I nodded my head and started walking towards the field, I told the girls to go back inside and that I would be in shortly after I checked the fence. The girls nodded their heads in agreement and walked back inside where the party went on. I took long strides towards the fence that I had to run multiple suicides to in basketball practice.

I didn't know why I was hurrying towards the fence, I knew that there was nothing that I would find. Taylor would not climb a fence, not in a floor length dress anyway.

After getting to the fence, I scanned the length of it, and didn't notice anything on the fence. I didn't think the doorman was telling the truth, I didn't know Taylor that well, but I knew her enough to know that she wouldn't scale an iron fence after some girl. Even I wouldn't scale a fence for anyone. Just as I was about to turn on my heel and go back to the dance, I noticed something blowing in the wind against the fence. Upon closer inspection, it was a ripped piece of fabric that had blood stained on it.

Grasping it in between my fingers, I could smell Taylor's perfume on it. I couldn't help but sigh and realize that Taylor HAD scaled a fence after someone. I guess my night had just gotten interesting.

Star curled up under my arm. My arm tightened around her. My dad had decided that he would give us some time alone to talk, and get everything out between us so we wouldn't have any regrets in the afterlife. Star and I didn't say anything. Between us, we realized that there were no apologies needed, no explanations needed, we just wanted to take the time to be as close to the other.

"How is your thigh feeling?"

I cupped the bandage that was wrapped around my thigh. Of course we had to rip part of my dress to stop the bleeding, but it was better than bleeding out on the floor.

"I'm sorry."

I looked down at my sister and just stroked her hair like I used to. "Didn't I say no apologizing?"

"I know, but.." Star trailed on.

"I understand." I continued to stroke Star's hair. "I'm sorry too then."

Star glanced up at me, and I glanced down at her. Smiles slowly spread onto our faces.

"You know, even though you left prom, you look amazing sis."

I couldn't help but blush a bit. "Even with a blood strained dress? And sweaty skin?" I joked.

Star nodded her head. "Even with all that."

I let my mind wander for a moment. Did Chad even notice that I was gone? Did anyone even notice that I was gone? I couldn't help but think of the last words that I had said to everyone this evening. Most of my last words weren't even meaningful ones. And Chad...My last words to him was, "Yes I'd like some punch."

While I began to wonder if Chad would always remember that before I died that I was quite glad that he asked me to prom, our batshit crazy dad came back into the room.

My dad had put on on some black leather gloves, and had changed his clothes to a button down shirt, and black slack pants.

My dad noticed my confused glance, and held his hands out.

"I want to look nice for your mother, and for God when I get to heaven."

I couldn't help but laugh. Star broke into a knowing smile, but quickly let it die as my father's fist connected with my face. Even though the laughter died inside me, my smile couldn't be wiped from my face.

"You honestly believe that you'd make it into heaven if you kill two other human beings?" I questioned.

My dad, I could tell was starting to become angry. His jaw began to tighten.

I couldn't help but egg him on a bit more. "What? You gonna shoot me like you did with grandma? In between the eyes?"

My dad began to pace back and forth. I continued to bait my father, I knew it was a risky move; but I didn't care. He took me away from the one night of my life that I would never get back.

Eventually my baiting wasn't having an effect on my dad anymore. He smiled and just put his hands in his pocket and looked at me.

"Are we done now?"

I didn't answer, my dad pulled his gloved hands out of his pockets and began to load up the gun. With the tinkling noise of the bullets being filled into the chambers, I still hadn't developed a since of sadness. I probably should have, but I didn't.

"Shoot me first." I said.

My dad spun the chamber of the gun to lock it into place. Taking off the safety off the gun, my dad eyed me. I wasn't sure what he was trying to pull, but he didn't like that answer.

"You and Star will both go together actually. I only have two bullets left in the chamber, and I don't think I'll miss."

How was he planning to take Star and I out?

"Hug your sister, and touch your foreheads together. That way the bullet can go through both of your heads more easily."

Star and I looked at each other, then back at our father.

Waving the gun towards us, he motioned for us to move into place. I looked over at my sister, and the look of terror crossed her face. I was out of options and knew, this is how it would end. I slowly moved towards my sister, and wrapped my arms around her in a hug. I almost didn't expect to feel Star's arms around me. I kissed the side of her face one last time. I was hoping that I'd have enough time to push my sister out of the way when the gun goes off, so she wouldn't have to die.

"Any last words girls?"

Star actually surprised me. "None that you haven't heard me use before. Since I'm about to meet God, it would probably be best that I keep these words to myself."

My dad chuckled, while he took aim he waited for me to answer his question.

"I have so many questions running through my mind that I know I wouldn't receive the answers to, so I'll just continue to question them quietly."

My dad shrugged. "That was rather powerful Taylor." My dad got back into his stance, which consisted of widening his legs like he was about to swing at a ball in baseball, and closed one eye.

"Just think girls, we'll have another chance to get our lives right."

I closed my eyes just as the gun went off. I hoped that I moved the right way and saved Star's life.

This chapter is a big long winded, and I apologize if it comes off that way. It just..seemed to go better this way. I guess you guise should be happy, Grandma is dead...but what about Taylor and Star? We only have two more chapters left until the end of Dirty Truth. The ride is almost over. Reviews make me happy. I haven't done a disclaimer in a while so...I do NOT own High School Musical, nor do I condone murder, sexual abuse. I only own Star, evil grandma and evil dad.
