Once again, my chapters are too damn long! I'll upload part 2 by tonight hopefully, if not tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, enjoy chapter 36 part 1!
Bray Wyatt POV
The pieces of the puzzle are slowly falling into place, but I know it won't be long before those wolves begin to suspect something, and I can't have them interfering in my plans, which only means one thing: I need back up.
I leave my followers back at the compound while I take a trip to the Realm of Sirens. There is someone there who will make the perfect ally, someone who is powerful and has dealt with these wolves before. Of course, her last encounter with them didn't work out for her so well, but she has me and my followers this time. Besides, it's not like I'll need her for long. I just need her alive long enough to eliminate the biggest threat to my plans. Granted, she is dead, but, thanks to my newfound magic, that won't be a problem.
I was expecting destruction when I arrived at the Realm of Sirens, but instead, I find it unusually tranquil. Didn't their queen just pass away? Shouldn't there be some kind of chaos and anarchy taking place in order to determine the next monarch? These sirens are interesting creatures, but I suppose it doesn't concern me. My only purpose in coming here is to recruit their, now former, queen.
Before coming here, I made sure that I knew where I was going, and used a locator spell to pinpoint the exact location of the former siren queen's body, and that's where I'm heading now.
The now waning moon sits high in the night sky as I look down at the grave in front of me. So her subjects buried her? That's cute. I tap into my white magic and, speaking in Latin, I cast a spell to unearth the body, "Terra in sinu meo. monstro quod ipse tibi sub quaero." With that, the Earth opens up to reveal the coffin within the grave. "Aperi." The coffin opens, and I finally lay my eyes on her. She doesn't look like someone who was mauled to death, but I assume that's because her subjects healed her body before burying her. Either she was an excellent queen, or her subjects are just good hearted, although I do find that hard to believe.
I disconnect myself from my white magic before tapping into my black magic. I haven't even cast the spell, and yet I can feel this magic coursing through my veins, eager to be used. "Ádi̱ anoíxei éna drómo gia ti̱n álli̱ plev̱rá, étsi ó̱ste af̱tí̱ i̱ psychí̱ boreí na epistrépsei sto só̱ma sto opoío aní̱kei. Dó̱ste éna fo̱s gia na kathodi̱gí̱sei katá mí̱kos ti̱s diadromí̱s." Suddenly, a beam of light comes shooting out of her body, and goes straight up into the sky. The same thing happened when I brought Renee back from the dead. This beam of light is the literal path that the soul will take to get back into its rightful body.
I wait a few minutes before the beam of light dissipates. I look back down at the body and take notice of the color that has returned to its cheeks. Natalya is alive once more, but now I must wait for her soul to recover. I might as well make myself comfortable. I have a few hours before she awakens.
Natalya POV
When I awaken, I find myself in a deep hole, looking up at the afternoon sky. The sun is directly above me, and its raise burns brightly, hurting my eyes. I shake off the exhaustion
That has overcome my body and use whatever strength I have to climb out of my hole. I finally reach the top and slowly pull my body out of the hold completely. I lie on my back and look up at the sky, avoiding eye contact with the sun.
I'm alive. I was dead, and now I'm alive. I close my eyes to recall the last thing that happened to me when I died. Those wolves killed me. They mauled me. They pulled at my limbs until they were ripped clean out of their sockets, but I lived through that. What killed me was when a light brown wolf bit into my neck, snapping it in an instant. Dean. I'm sure that wolf was Dean. I saw his soul through those bright yellow eyes. He just added himself to my new hit list, but before I kill him, I need to kill a little, insubordinate, treacherous siren by the name of Renee. I know she's alive. I saw her on the Other Side, and I saw her when her soul was led back to the Land of the Living. She was supposed to stay dead! Traitors don't get to live! Now that I'm alive, I'll just have to kill her again, and I'll make sure she stays dead this time.
After a few minutes, I notice that there is something blocking the sunlight, and keeping me shaded. What the hell is that? I open my eyes to find a man with brown hair, blue eyes and a long beard standing above me with a wicked smile on his face.
"It's nice to meet you, Natalya," he greets me. "My name is Bray Wyatt. I'm the one who brought you back to life." I stare up at him suspiciously.
"Is that so?" He nods in confirmation. "Then you must have had a reason to do so. What is it that you want of me?"
"I'm so glad you asked." His smile widens. For whatever reason, he reminds me of myself. "I need your help in completing my plans to drown this world in fire."
"And why would I do that? Destroying the world was never my goal, and don't think that I owe you my life because the fact that you brought me back from the dead means very little to me."
"I assumed that it would, and destroying may not have been your goal, but, like you, my goals are absolute, and I will do whatever it takes to accomplish them. Also like you, I have a certain group of wolves who are sure to stand in my way." I get to my feet immediately upon hearing about his wolf problem. If he is speaking of the wolves I have in mind, then I just might have a reason to help him.
"What's in it for me?"
"I'll hand over the siren who betrayed you."
"And how can you do that?"
"I was the one who brought her back to life." I slap him across the face without thinking twice about it. How dare he!
"I was the one who killed her in the first place! You undid my work and now you want me to join you only so you can offer me the opportunity to kill her again?!" He recovers from the smack slowly and smiles at me. What has he to be so happy about?
"I had to bring her back. I needed leverage on the wolves."
"Is she in your possession now?"
"No, she's back with wolves." I scoff at him while shaking my head. What kind of leverage is that?! "But when I revived her I bonded her spirit with mine. Whatever should happen to me will happen to her."
"Thus ensuring that they cannot harm you." Even I will admit that it is an intelligent move. "But then how I am to harm her if she is bonded with you?"
"Once my task is complete, I'll sever the bond, and she will be yours to do what you wish." Well, I didn't have time to make Renee suffer the way I wanted her to. This Wyatt person is offering me another opportunity to kill Renee the way that she deserves to be killed… how can I pass that up?
"Fine. I'll help you."
"Good. The first thing I need from you is to take me to the Máv̱ri̱ Cheirógrafo."
"Why do you need it?"
"It is pivotal to my goal." I'm obviously not going to get any more information out of him, but all things will be revealed in due time I suppose. He wants the Máv̱ri̱ Cheirógrafo and I wantRenee at my mercy. We need one another at the moment, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend. This is the beginning a mutual beneficial friendship.
Dean POV
When Kaitlyn's shift finished yesterday afternoon, the both of us went over to her apartment. I thought we were going to do the nasty until I saw a large moving truck outside of her apartment building. Needless to say that we spent the next few hours moving Kaitlyn's stuff out of her apartment and into the truck. The rest of day was used to move all the stuff into her new place. By the time we were done with everything I was exhausted, but I had to get back to the den because I had guard duty with Ellie on the Northside. Before I left, Kaitlyn gave me my copy of the keys and told me that she had the morning shift for work.
Around three in the afternoon, I go to visit Kaitlyn at work. I figured that she would be off by now and we could probably grab some lunch together, but she doesn't know I'm coming. I thought I would surprise her with the idea. I don't want us to get stuck in a routine, so I'm trying to switch it up a bit.
I'm across the street from Rhodes' Tavern when I see Kaitlyn walk out with her purse in hand. My timing is perfect! I'm about to call out to her when Cody comes out of the entrance as well and stops Kaitlyn from walking any further. She turns around and looks up at him curiously, then he starts speaking. I try hard to hear what he's saying, but I can't over the noise of the traffic, so I just continue to watch them. As I look on, Cody reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small box. All I'm seeing is red. I know what the hell that box is! Before I can even try to think logically, I find myself speed walking across the street. Next thing I know, I'm tackling Cody to the ground and wailing on him mercilessly.
In the back of my mind I can hear people gathering around us and I can feel someone trying to pull me off of Cody. I turn my attention off of Cody briefly to deliver a swift punch to the person trying to break us up before I return to beating the hell out of Cody. I'm in full blown attack mode when I hear Kaitlyn's voice, and it sounds like she's crying.
"Dean please! Get off him please!" The fog in my mind clears up, and I start breathing again. I look at Cody. He looks like crap. His left eye is swollen shut, his bottom lip is split, his nose is broken and his right cheek is has a bright purple bruise. I look around me and spot another guy on the floor, holding his jaw. I recognize that guy. He's the older guy from the day that Kaitlyn and AJ had gotten their jobs back. I guess he's the one who tried to pull me off of Cody. "Dean what the hell?!" I turn to Kaitlyn. She's crying. Her eyes are red, her cheeks are stained with tears and her lower lip is quivering. I feel bad that I made her cry. That was never my intention, but seeing Cody pull out a ring… I wasn't about to let him propose to my girl.
"I saw him pull out a ring, Kaitlyn," I try to defend myself.
"He was asking my opinion on it!" What? "He has a girlfriend! He wants to propose to her and was asking if I thought the ring was okay!" Oh my God. Fucking… fuck! "I thought you trusted me, Dean!"
"I do! I do trust you. I didn't know what was going on!"
"If you would have stopped to think for a moment, I could have told you!" I feel stupid. I don't even know how to fix this mess.
"Kaitlyn," the other guy on the floor calls out to Kaitlyn. "You know this guy?" I look at Kaitlyn. She's at a total loss. She's panicked and terrified and obviously doesn't know how to respond.
"Yes, Dustin," she whispers. Dustin gets up off the ground, still holding his jaw, and walks over to us. "I can't have you working her if you can't keep him under control." Shit.
"It won't again Mr. Rhodes! I promise it won't!"
"You can't promise that Kaitlyn, and I can't take that chance. You're fired." Fuck! Devastation takes over Kaitlyn's features. "I'm sorry." I hear Kaitlyn sniffle before walking away. Dammit what have I done?!
"Kaitlyn, wait," I call after her, but she ignores me and keeps walking. As she turns the corner I go running after her. When she reaches for the handle on her car, I finally catch up to her and grab her hand, but she pulls away from me.
"Get away from me!"
"I'm sorry, Katie, I didn't know!"
"That's all you have to say?! You got me fired, Dean!"
"I'm sorry," I repeat. I don't even know what else I can say to her right now.
"How am I supposed to pay my bills and support AJ?! I thought you trusted me!"
"I do trust you! I do! I swear I do!"
"Obviously not! I told you repeatedly that you had nothing to worry about, and you didn't listen!"
"He- he pulled out a ring! What was I supposed to think?!"
"That's a bullshit excuse and you know it!" She opens up her car door.
"Kaitlyn, come on! Can't we talk about this?"
"You should have thought of that before you decided to beat up both my bosses!" I didn't know that other guy was her boss!
"Kaitlyn, please?"
"Leave. Me. Alone." She gets in her car quickly and drives off, leaving me standing in the middle of the block. Fucking… dammit! I always do this! I always fuck these things up! If it's not one thing, it's a-fucking-nother! She told me to trust her, and I told her that I did, but I panicked when Cody pulled the ring out. I flew into a rage, I saw red, I couldn't even form a coherent thought!
"I guess you finally fucked up, huh," a voice with an Irish accent says from behind me. I look in its direction and find none other than Sheamus perched up against a brick wall. He told had told me that when I fucked up he would be there. He planned this all this time. That's the real reason he came to the bar yesterday. He did it to get in my head, and it fucking worked. I let him get to me, and now I've made the biggest mess of life.
"Stay from Kaitlyn, Sheamus. I'm not in the mood for your crap and if you try anything on her, I'll kick your ass."
"Yeah," he scoffs at me, "because that plan has worked out so well for you thus far." Shit, he's right. Every time I end up in a fight with someone over Kaitlyn, she gets mad at me, and she's already pissed off. "Besides, from what I heard, Kaitlyn wants you to stay away from her. She didn't say anything about me." With that, he walks away and turns the corner in the direction of the bar.
What am I going to do? I need to make this up to Kaitlyn, but how? I could show up with some flowers at her door and beg her to forgive me, and I will, but that's not enough. No, I need to do something big, something that will make her see that I understand that what I did was wrong. I look down the street, and in the distance, I see Dionysus' Kitchen. I know exactly how I'm going to make this up to Katie. "Perfect."
Oh Dean, you jealous, possessive wolf. Whatever will you do? :/
I hope you enjoyed this because I enjoyed writing it!
So, a little update: Once again, this story is going in a different direction than what I had intended, but once I started writing it was like divine intervention lol. All this to say, that there will be more chapters and uploads than I have originally told you guys from a while back.
Anyway, leave reviews por favor! And thanks to everyone who reviewed last chapter! I love reading your reviews... they make me feel special. Love you guys!
