The Arekuruu Sea Part 1

Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon Toei and Bandai do!

Davis POV

Davis tried to close his mouth at the sight, but he along with Veemon simply couldn't accomplish it.

An entire island was currently making its way towards the beach. Everyone was gathered at the edge of the shore, many of the kids were straining their eyes in disbelief. The warriors had light smiles on their faces though.

"Wha? Is-is that our ride?" Kenta screamed pointing off towards the obstruction. Marineangemon was whizzing around his partners head in excitement.

Takuya smirked.

"Yep that's our dear old friend Shima. The "Guardian of the Sea and resident transport" also part of a long line of ancestors that had once served under Umi's partner Mizu" Takuya before giving a shout and waving.

Many kids had taken on a look of surprise at that bit of information, but still shell shocked only the likes of Izzy, Ken, and Henry seemed to really hang onto that information.

"I-I thought you guys said a Whamon was coming to pick up!" Davis finally shouted as Veemon nodded along with him.

"Hhehehe we never said what kind of Whamon was coming to get us! Although I assume by everyone's reactions no one's ever seen a King Whamon before?" J.P asked teasingly.

"A King Whamon?" Veemon voiced his confusion and awe.

"Yes Veemon a King Whamon. A mega digivolution for Whamon, although it is hard to achieve so very few King Whamon actually exists. Plus they're usually very reclusive as well. In fact Shima is the only one I know about. So I'm not surprised at all to see none of you have ever heard of or seen one" Bokomon explained with a nod.

Davis still felt how dried up his mouth was. Sure he knew about the Whamon that helped his and Tai's team back in his dimension. But when comparing the size of his Whamon to this Shima guy, that Whamon lost considerably.

Davis took a cautious step back in surprise as the "island" slowly began to rise, and the appearance of sharp teeth could be seen in the jagged rocks. Soon after a tongue could be seen in the living mountain side, and a large white whale tail rose from behind it.

"FRIENDS! SORRY I'M LATE BUT THE SEA HAS BEEN MORE RESTLESS THAN USUAL THESE DAYS!" Shima boomed in his robust, loud, and somewhat gentle voice.

"The sea is restless?" Davis thought trying to remember where he heard that phrase before.

Nearly everyone recoiled back at the loud booming voice. Shima got closer and closer before finally stopping a couple of feet from the shoreline. Now his mouth was entirely out of the water and seemed to be forming a smile.

"HELLO TO ALL! I SEE ARE THOSE YOUR NEW TEAMMATES? I SENSE TREMOUDUS PROMISE IN ALL OF THEM!" Shima announced happily with a hearty laugh that Davis swore shook the beach.

"HEY! We're happy to see you to Shima, but do you think you could lower the volume please?" Takuya shouted back to the large whale.

"OH! Right sorry I forget my boisterous voice isn't for everyone my apologies!" Shima lowering his voice as much as he could for his size.

"Anyway Shima what was that about the sea being restless?" Koji interjected curious.

"AH! Yes what I mean by that is the currents…have been off so to speak. Although I'm not quite sure why…but I feel we won't have an easy journey" Shima said sadly.

Davis had to repress the urge to roll his eyes. Not like they've had an easy journey from the get-go. What else could this crazy world throw their way?

"Pfft when have we ever?" Zoe scoffed a little bemusedly, however she quickly shifted to Umi hand her posture seemed to become suspicious.

"Umi…shouldn't you have felt something? I know you're one with the water, can you tell us exactly what's wrong?" Zoe inquired nervous skepticism high in her voice.

Umi fidgeted uncomfortably before answering.

"Yeah…I knew remember I said the same thing last night…that the sea is restless…why do you think I'm more on edge than usual I feel the dread I my bones" Umi said shivering.

Davis along with many others frowned at the girl. She had been the one to say the sea was restless, but Davis had to admit to himself he was slightly distracted by the rest of her story that night.

"Wait you're connected to tha sea?" Veemon asked slightly confused.

"Well yes my partner is Mizu the former Lady of the Arekuruu Sea. Combine that fact along with my element and I can for lack of a better word "feel" the way the sea is feeling. So when the sea is turbulent I'm turbulent, when it's calm I'm calm" Umi explained softly with a sheepish grin.

"Well that sure explains a lot" Davis muttered under his breath remembering Umi's behavior from last night. But he couldn't shake the feeling that was only a fraction of the reason she was so edgy last night.

Although Davis had to admit he was still slightly confused by what she meant, as from what he could see it didn't seem the ocean was turbulent. There were no whipping waves, roaring waters, or large tidal waves.

To Davis the sea already looked as calm as it could be…so what on earth did Umi and Shima mean by the sea was restless?

However Davis' thoughts were soon interrupted by the impatient voice of Zoe.

"So you haven't answered my question yet Umi, any readings?" Zoe asked again impatience seeping into her tone.

Umi glared.

"Yes, but all I can say for now is whatever dwelling in the sea is big. So Shima I advise you move with caution, and alert us if you think we should stop or otherwise" Umi warned her face becoming deathly serious.

Davis and Veemon gulped.

"Wise words Ms. Umi I've felt it too, but enough of that now. I'm going to sink back down into the ocean and let you all climb abroad." Shima said slowly sinking back into the water.

"But Wait! What about you? Don't you need to come up for air every once and a while?" Kari intervened with a worried tone.

"HA! Don't worry youngling once I had digivolved into my mega form long ago, I had lost the need to come up for air. Plus as the official ocean transport I sure wouldn't want to shake and rattle my customers." Shima said laughing as he descended into the depths.

Once Shima's head was back underwater the island atop was the only visible part of the large whale. Davis still could barely believe that whole island was just one part of a larger being.

"So I guess Armadillomon and I are going to have to digivolve and give people some rides back and forth huh?" Gomamon sighed his face and body language becoming tired.

"No Gomamon not necessarily. I'll just make an ice bridge for us to walk across" Tommy offered wiping out his D-tector.

"Execute Merging Spirit Evolution!" Tommy cried out as mildly icy data floated around him.

Soon enough after the group maneuvered very carefully across the ice bridge Tommy had created they easily boarded Shima with no problem.

Davis let out a low whistle as he looked around the island. There were fruit trees going so that meant plenty of food. Beautiful green foliage surrounded the entire place. Shima even had a couple of mountaintops on him with each one being surrounded by fresh lake water, and near the base of his tail smaller islands, and rocks were also seen above the water.

"This is much nicer than I was expecting Davis! I thought we'd be traveling across the sea in a stomach!" Veemon sighed happily, as Davis laughed and voiced his agreement.

"Yep! I'm with you there V! I love our Whamon and all but he didn't have the best breath!" Davis said joking making his partner laugh with him.

"Well if you two are done joking maybe we could try and set up camp?" Yolei said stepping in between the two with an annoyed tone in her voice.

Veemon looked sheepish while Davis' look changed to one of disdain.

"Yeah, Yeah Yolei keep your frickin pants on" Davis huffed following Yolei and the others deeper into the moving island.

The trip started off pleasantly enough. Shima moved so smoothly yet swiftly it didn't at all feel like the island was moving. Which was a good thing because Davis wasn't in the mood to deal with a seasick partner a second time.

As of now everyone was just resting along the small inner lake at the bottom of a mountain that was on the island. Davis had his feet submerged in the cool water as he leaned back on the grass watching the clouds.

It was one of the rare moments Davis let his mind wander to extremely important matters such as Umi and the warrior's story from last night. He didn't dwell on Umi's story for too long as thinking about it saddened him more than he'd like to admit.

Just the thought of a family that broken that seemed to have no chance of repair almost seemed unreal to Davis. Sure he and his sister June squabbled a LOT and his parents sometimes pestered Davis to no end, but through it all Davis never had any doubts about loving his folks or them loving him.

It seems Umi wasn't granted that same privilege. What's worse while Davis was no psychoatrist he was willing to bet a million dollars that Umi's family troubles is the reason she's smoking.

That in itself was another shock for Davis. Seeing Umi unabashedly smoke in front of everyone. He even started to sit up and try and recall if Umi gave any hints that she did this before and so far he came up with nothing.

"Although am I forgetting about the trips she would sometimes take with Koji, Takuya, and Koichi. She probably took the time to smoke then" Davis thought rationally. After all none of the other teams ever went with them, and the warriors certainly weren't surprised about her smoking.

He figured that they would've known about it well before now, giving their reaction. However it worried him a bit after he remembered Zoe's words of frustration as she thought Umi quit smoking.

But before he could begin to dwell on that another thought nearly banged him in the head.

Something was….off about the warrior's story.

Davis really couldn't put his finger on it, but the way they told some parts of their story didn't add up to him. Especially the stuff about them not telling their folks.

Because when Davis really thought about it…they had plenty of proof!

J.P's missing arm, an explanation for Zoe's sudden blindness, and even Koichi's possible sudden malnourished look. Not to mention the change in attitudes they all had! In fact the only buyable excuse was Takuya getting his scar from a fight.

As it seemed from the snippets of the warriors first adventure that Takuya was only slightly less hotheaded than he had always been.

Plus shouldn't the group have had some bruises and cuts upon their return? Because they even said that once they returned they'd lost their powers so it wasn't like Koji could've healed them.

"What's up with that? I really think if they all chipped in together they could've come up with one good and believable explanation, so at least one of the parents would've taken it seriously" Davis drawled on in his head.

Now curious Davis rose up and looked around for Ken. He needed a second opinion on this, and who better to ask than his human best friend?

Spotting Ken with Izzy near the south edge of the lake Davis wasted no time in getting up and making his way over to them.

"Davis where ya going?" Veemon said getting up to follow his partner.

"Come on V! We're going to sit with Ken, Izzy, Tentomon, and Wormmon. I gotta ask them something" Davis explained as he began marching over to the geniuses.

"About what?" Veemon asked curiously following closely behind his partner as they passed by multiple people and digimon.

"You'll see now quit bellyaching and come on!" Davis scolded breaking out into a brisk jog.

Ken and Izzy had been surprised by Davis' sudden arrival. They both figured he and his partner would've relished the relaxation period that surely wasn't going to last. However it was nothing to the surprise they felt when Davis explained to them what was on his mind.

"I truly forget how perceptive Davis can be at times, especially when it comes to reading people" Ken scolded himself lightly. He knew his best human friend can by very knuckleheaded, but Davis was nearly never wrong when it came to his ability to read people.

Ken should've know as Davis was the first to really see through Ken's grief after the Digimon Emperor fiasco, and could read him better than himself sometimes.

"Well Davis I gotta say I'm glad we're not the only ones who suspected something about the warriors story was off" Izzy stated after being sure to drain the surprise from his tone unless he wanted Davis to yell at him.

"So you guys suspected it too?" Davis implied.

"Yes, though I can't speak for Henry I'm sure he feels the same about it…you've honestly just confirmed my own suspicious on the matter really" Ken answered putting a finger to his chin.

"Yes but that aside I don't think it's wise to call them out on it. At least not yet, we've seen that they're opening up to us more, but we also need to learn when it's right to push them and when it's not." Izzy said with finality in his voice.

Davis nodded.

"Otherwise they'll close right back up again won't they?" Davis said sharing a look with a semi embarrassed Ken. He remember Ken did the exact same thing for a while before joining them.

"Exactly Davis…besides we need to worry about more important matters, mainly what we could run into on this ocean trip. I suspect-" Izzy started to say until he was cut off by a loud beeping and buzzing sound.

Davis and the others swiveled their heads around to see that the warriors had all gathered in a circle together, even the still spirit merged Tommy. However that wasn't what attracted their attention.

No it was the fact all the warriors D-tectors were admitting a harsh white light, although unlike everyone else the warriors were not alarmed. They all shared a knowing nod between themselves, and laid their D-tectors on the ground facing each other.

The lights all converged into one and shot straight up into the air. Then in the middle of the white light, Ophanimon appeared.

"Wow this looks just like how Gennai would sometimes contact us!" Sora commented moving in closer.

"Yeah but with less rainbows" Tai snickered earning himself a light thwack on the head.

Davis tried to stiffening his chortles as Ophanimon began to speak.

"Hello Warriors, Digidestined, and Tamers! I am happy to see you all made it this far! I never had a doubt, but I must admit I'm surprised you all made it this far as quickly as you did!" Ophanimon praised with a smile.

Davis puffed out his chest in pride, at least until Yolei came and poked him hard.

"No need to inflate you head any more than it already is Davis!" Yolei said with a sly smile at Davis' annoyed look.

"We're glad you have such faith in us Lady Ophanimon but is there any reason you contacted us now? What news do you have?" Bokomon added.

"Ah my faithful follower always to the point aren't you? Yes I do have some tidings to give you all" Ophanimon admitted taking a deep breath.

"Well first I'll start with the good news that being Cherubimon, Seraphimon, and I are doing just fine guarding Gaias. Plus the four Gods are doing just as well keeping the dimensional strains separate and functioning" Ophanimon said in a light tone before pausing.

"But?" Koji interjected knowing there had to be a catch.

"But…honestly that what worries me children. It's been far too quiet on our end. I know that Dagomon reigns over the Dark Ocean. The world where all the darkest souls no matter which dimension or digital world gather…he should know our situation…" Ophanimon said drifting off at the end of her sentence.

"Situation?" Agumon asked perplexed.

"It may have only been six months since my team left Agumon, but it's been only recently that Ophanimon and the others returned to full power isn't that correct?" J.P inquired looking at Ophanimon.

She nodded.

"Yes that's correct J.P, Remember children the warriors should've explained back in my castle when the warriors first left us, Cherubimon, Seraphimon, and I were all back in our rookie stages. It took us more than a few years to reach mega level again, and reestablished the kingdoms we lost as well. So we're still not at the high power we use to be at..." Ophanimon sighed in frustration.

"Oh Yeah! I nearly forgot about that!" Davis thought inwardly way back to the dinner in Ophanimon's castle when the warriors gave them the almost cliff note version of their first journey.

"So I guess this confirms that time isn't synched up to the real world here?" T.K asked in an almost hopeful tone, and even Davis could figure out why.

"For once I agree with you T.J this means that maybe, just maybe we haven't been gone long enough for our parents to worry over us again" Davis thought as hopeful as he could. For as much as they got on his nerves he didn't like his family worried on his behalf.

"As far as I know I would say so T.K. So while it's been six months for the warriors it's been just over ten years for us" Ophanimon confirmed.

"Gee time here isn't nearly as fast here as it used to be in our digital world" Izzy noted remembering that the short time his team returned home, that most likely at least one hundred years had gone by in the digital world.

"I would say that's a case of different dimensions having different rules…but that aside Ophanimon! If it's been ten years or more why is everything still so screwed up?" Takuya asked more crassly annoyance in his tone.

Ophanimon sighed.

"War takes time to recover from Takuya…a long time."

Takuya flinched and instantly silenced.

"Plus it didn't help that my comrades and I couldn't recover our full sectors and kingdoms to their full power. Lucemon's influence spread further than we thought, and many of our own allies left us for our pro equal rights stance" Ophanimon explained.

"I did notice you had less followers this time, but I thought the rest had been on a mission or something…" Koichi sighed.

"No Koichi unfortunately that's not the case. Many of my past followers had left me not wanting to help the species divide problem in our world. Those you saw at the castle were my last true loyal followers. The same went for Seraphimon, and poor Cherubimon lost all his followers" Ophanimon said sadly.

Davis growled loudly. The sheer disloyalty Ophanimon and others dissenters had shown made him nothing short of furious.

Even if Cherubimon's loss of followers was a lot more understandable…

"Either way that aside there's more bad news I'm afraid" Ophanimon continued gravely.

Davis held a breath.

"From what I could gather from my loyal followers…there has been news of Lucemon's return. Some say he's been spotted inside Hinansho City no doubt reforming old connections" Ophanimon said losing her composure a bit as her tone became angry.

For the second time Davis could say he saw the warriors truly become shocked, and completely lose their own cool composure. Zoe, Tommy, J.P and Umi even appeared to become fearful and repressed at the announcement.

But Takuya and Koji well they just freakin lost it!

"WHAT!" Koji and Takuya yelled simultaneously both letting out animalistic growls despite Tommy being the one stuck in merged form.

"He's back! Dagomon actually brought him back?! Does that overgrown squid know what's he getting himself into?" Koji hissed tightening his fist.

Takuya did nothing more than thrash around in place seemingly incapable of speaking. It took Zoe walking up to him and placing her shaking hand on his shoulder to calm the thrashing boy down.

"I'm sure he's well aware Koji, although from my sources Lucemon has only been sighted in his rookie form. So we shouldn't worry too much…yet. Plus I haven't heard any talk of Lucemon's old…associates revivals either." Ophanimon said trying to soothe tensions.

The warriors flinched but slowly shook their head in agreement.

"Lucemon is really that powerful? Powerful enough to instill that kind of true fear in the warriors?" Davis thought slightly horrified as he shared a look with Veemon.

"Who were tha associates?" Veemon wondered as he shared his look with Davis.

"Also a word of warning I'm sure Umi or Shima has already stated this but there is something big in Arekuruu Sea. I wouldn't put it past me for it to be a revived enemy of a group. Finally be weary of your arrival at your destination I can't be certain, but I think I have enough evidence to believe an ambush is waiting there…" Ophanimon finished morosely.

Solemn silence hung in the air at the angel's finished words.

"Thank you lady Ophanimon…" Koichi finally replied in a shaky breath.

"You're welcome children… I suggest you train with the free time you have…and I'll keep up on my end of the deal okay?" Ophanimon replied in a soothing voice a small smile on her face.

"Of course Lady Ophanimon we will do our best!" Bokomon said getting chipper again.

"Oh and one more thing digidestined, tamers…." Ophanimon said mirth now in her voice.

Said groups looked up at the beautiful arch angel.

"My name is Heiwa." That was all Ophanimon said before the light faded and she disappeared along the light. The D-tectors fell limp to the side among the shell shocked warriors.

Everyone just hung by waiting for the warriors and Bokomon to snap back to reality, but Davis could swore a minute went by and nothing was changing.

Davis walked right up to Bokomon and began shaking the little digimon as Veemon snapped his claws in front of his face.

"Uhh…hello dude wanna come back to earth sometime soon? What's the big deal here?" Davis questioned leaving it hanging in the air.

That jolted Bokomon right out of his stupor.

"WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL!" Bokomon screamed ramming Davis on his back into the ground.

"Hey ouch man! Lay off!" Davis grunted angrily.

"THE BIG DEAL YOUNG MAN IS LADY OPHANIMON GAVE YOU HER NAME!" Bokomon said shaking Davis.

"AH! AH! Okay, okay it's a big deal now please let me go!" Davis cried trying to push Bokomon off him. Bokomon stiffened and got up off Davis in an embarrassed flurry. Veemon helped his partner up and turned to Bokomon with bug eyes.

"Wow what was that pal?" Veemon asked pointing his claw.

"Err…excuse me the gravity of that moment got to me. I suppose I shall explain" Bokomon said fumbling as he cleared his throat. Bokomon's freak out had lightened the mood considerably and even the warriors were smirking and snickering at Bokomon's embarrassment.

"Ah…Yes a noble digimon like Lady Ophanimon giving out her name is considered one of the highest honors! In fact just having a name in our world is important in itself it adds character, and more importantly can command respect!" Bokomon continued on enthusiastically.

"Yeah even on our last adventure she never gave us her name until the end….she must really have come to respect all of you" Zoe said grumbling sounding a bit jealous.

"What do you silly guys mean by that?" Calumon asked cocking his head to the side.

"What Zoe and Bokomon mean Calumon is having a name means one of two things; either you're a digimon of great power, prestige, or you and your family are survivors" Koji explained to the crowd.

"For someone like Ophanimon her revealing her name means she respects everyone here in the highest honor, and considers us all equals to her thus not needing to be formal. Alternatively a more power hunger digimon may force name use to instill fear in said name" Koichi continued picking up from the end of his brothers sentence.

"Thereby not calling that type of digimon by name can come off as insulting, and insubordinate" Koji said finishing for Koichi. Davis giggled silently it was times like this he really remembered that Koji and Koichi were indeed identical twins.

They just acted so differently from each other, Davis swore he needed these moments to remind him otherwise.

"Wait if that's true then why don't you guys ever call Ophanimon by her real name?" Tai pointed out.

"Force of habit more than anything. It just feels odd addressing someone as wise and powerful as Ophanimon by her real name" Tommy said with the other warriors nodding in agreement.

"Hey I can understand that. It be like me calling my parents, or teachers by their first names. It would feel weird and out of place" Davis said smiling at the warriors who smiled back.

"Well what about the survivor thing you guys mentioned how's that significant?" Kazu butt in rather rudely earning an annoyed glare from Rika.

"That…means your parents survived long enough to give you a name. Like Coco, Hane, and Brutus. All of them have names because their parents lived long enough to give them one…most digimon without true names tend to be…well orphans" J.P said beginning to sound uncomfortable.

Davis' became confused why were they getting so sad all the sudden?

"Remember most digimon are born in our world…" Umi finished sadly before flittering her eyes over to Bokomon.

Then Davis understood.

Bokomon…

Bokomon…..

He didn't have a name….

Davis turned a tentative eye over to Bokomon expecting the same sadness he saw in the warriors.

Surprisingly he didn't get any.

No Bokomon was looking at everyone giving him sympathetic looks with an amused stance. Even more so upon seeing most of the other digimon giving the same looks, especially when Bokomon knew that despite their best efforts most of the other digimon wouldn't possibly understand how it really feels.

As well they've been "nameless" all their lives and could've cared less!

"Hahaha oh come now none of this. The warriors, Lady Ophanimon, and her guard are my family. Besides one day I can still have a name, I just have to be more patient is all" Bokomon assured looking amused.

"Really how?" Veemon injected thoroughly curious about the whole name business.

"Sometimes it's possible for a digimon to earn or make a name. A name can be given to them by someone at a higher rank than themselves, they give themselves one (usually in the case of robotic digimon), or even better a name earned through becoming a Legend!" Bokomon went on becoming starry eyed.

"That's how I plan to earn my name! I want to become a legend in my own right…I guess have to be patient…and well not make any more stupid mistakes" Bokomon finished trailing off at the end so Davis and many others had to strain themselves to hear him.

"Stupid mistakes?" Davis whispered to Veemon who shrugged his shoulders.

"I gotta admit tha' sounds mighty neat" Armadillomon agreed.

"Yeah I think I'm going to give myself a name. I want to be called Mr. Handsome!" Terriermon said smugly.

"How about no Terriermon? And if you want to be honest your name should be something like helicopter head" Henry said shutting the idea down immediately.

"Or loud mouth" Rika piped in as well smirking.

"Nah! I'd go with short stack" Impmon added in also grinning.

That set Terriermon off.

"Whatever Impmon in case you didn't notice you're short too!" Terriermon pointed out smiling.

"Heh I'm still taller than you bub!" Impmon retorted smirking as Terriermon practically boiled on spot.

"Yeah well you wanna know what I'd call you. I'd say you were a son of a-"

"DON'T even try to go there Terriermon" Henry said giving his digimon a warning look accompanied with a grunt. Terriermon glared at Henry but backed down from a still smirking Impmon.

Laughter rang throughout the large group greatly easing everyone's fears and tensions.

But more importantly it rose everyone's spirits!

"Come on guys I say we heed Ophanimon's warning! Besides it's not like we have anywhere else to go at the moment…who's up for some training!" Takuya announced swinging his arm.

For once not one groan rang through the group, as everyone cheered enthusiastically spirits renewed. They all got set up and ready for the warrior's form of battle sparring they called digivolution tag teaming.

An interesting little spar session where one teammate remained undigivolved while the other did digivolve. However Davis and Veemon didn't give a second thought at volunteering to be the undigiovlved partner. After all they liked a challenge.

As Davis stood slightly behind Veemon with his teammate Ken and the recently digivolved Stingmon he felt like he could take on the world. He unabashedly stared down Guilmon, Takato, Joe, and Ikkakumon.

Veemon turned behind himself to look at his partner and give him confident thumbs up. Before putting a steely glance back on his face, and summoning his sword twirling it before pointing it forward.

Davis decided then and there he would make a name for Veemon.

Or his name wasn't Davis Motomiya!

Dagomon continued to stare religiously into the dark ocean he stood above.

He had recently received word that the children were finally on the sea.

"Excellent…" Dagomon thought menacingly.

The children were getting more and more into dangerous waters they weren't going to be able to handle. Not only was the enemy in the sea powerful, but new and improved as well.

Although Dagomon knew not to count his chickens yet. If the group managed to find the shrine of Mizu before his ally could finish them off, they might have a chance. Even so they still had an ambush waiting for them at the shoreline, and the next phrase of his plan was almost ready.

Dagomon moved his tentacled hand in a circular motion as the ocean below formed a whirlpool.

A whirlpool in which massive amounts of red ooze continued to rise.

Dagomon chuckled darkly. Just another week or so and all of it would be back and ready for use, and it would grow and spread like a deadly thorn bush

Speaking of thorns luckily Dagomon had managed to get that thorn in his side Lucemon to go back to Hinansho city and stay stationed there.

At least for a while.

His distrust for the demon lord grew more and more each day, and as time went on he cursed Lucemon for his usefulness…

After all Dagomon can still clearly remember his surprise at the revelation that Lucemon didn't want any of the other demon lords from his world revived.

"I do not care for any of my past associates to be revived…at least not fully. Revive them enough so they can only exist as apparitions with limited data…that's all I need those useless fools for anyway" Lucemon stated coldly and strategically.

"Besides I have other more reliable, and expendable "friends" to work with hehehhe" Lucemon said chuckling lowly.

Dagomon could sense a dark plot a mile away and in his paranoia beefed up security within his realm. He hated to admit it, REALLY hated to admit it…but Lucemon made him more uncomfortable than the chosen children these days.

A slimy two bit kid angel was making him, the ruler of the dark realm uncomfortable.

Dagomon wanted to drown himself, he really did.

However despite his misgivings Dagomon complied with Lucemon's wishes to keep the angel out his hair more than anything. Plus it wasn't like Dagomon was in favor of more haughty thinking they're entitled Demon Lords running around anyway.

Two were enough.

However Dagomon didn't totally comply with Lucemon's wishes.

Slowly but surely since the beginning of the adventure Dagomon had been extracting data from two key members of the digidestined team.

Koichi and Impmon.

As both of them had the closest connection to darkness, Dagomon and his underlining's had an easy time invading their dreams and subconscious undetected. Unlike that idiotic child and warrior of light both of whom would been immediately alerted to the presence of darkness in their subconscious.

But it was a small consolation because Impmon proved to be an exceptional resource as he had been able to extract Makuramon and Caturamon's data from the small Imp. The duo part of the small portion of Devas who had agreed to switch their allegiance.

Dagomon had been impressed by some of Devas fierce loyalty to their dimensions sovereign, unwilling to switch sides even though almost all of the Devas wanted vengeance on the tamer children and their digimon.

Indramon, Sandiramon, Sinduramon, Vikaralamon, and Kumbhiramon all declined being brought back out of pure loyalty to their sovereign Zhuqiaomon. Then Dagomon had to also take into consideration that the digidestined group also already had one fallen Deva on their side in the form of that pathetic Lopmon.

So that left six in total. Six Devas Dagomon managed to get on his side, and six that were lost to him. It didn't help that stupid Caturamon was already dead again! Lowering that number to five! And this time Caturamon's data was so destroyed not even he could bring him back.

Although it isn't like he would. That fool got beaten by one of the warriors in a "rookie" form, a "rookie" form for God's sake.

Although all those Devas were just small fries compared to the big prize Dagomon was oh so close to achieving through Impmon.

"Rest easy little imp because soon you won't be able to anymore, the same goes for you dear Koichi. You may have my ancestor locked away in you, but you'll never be as strong or feared as the great Shi was" Dagomon murmured almost as if trying to reassure himself.

"Him thinking about those bloody Devas made me realize something, shouldn't that insubordinate Majiramon be back yet?" Dagomon mused quietly to himself.

Then as if an even higher being read his thoughts, Majiramon came barreling from the sky and landing in front the dark ocean lord bowing his head down.

"My lord I bring you the news you wish for" Majiramon said swiftly and curtly.

"Well it's about time, go on" Dagomon drawled sounding bored.

"The three celestial angels remain vigilant in Gaias, and while they are suspicious they have no real inkling of what you plan my lord." Majiramon announced while keeping his head bowed down.

"Good, good I like keeping those goody goodies on their toes, and what of the sovereign?"

"The Sovereign are also keeping up with keeping dimensional ties separate as well…but they DO stop to break once and a while I've been told. That would be the perfect time to send someone in to get that…leverage you wanted sir" Majiramon said in a robotic tone.

Dagomon smiled darkly.

That "leverage" was one of the things he was looking most forward to getting, and to find out damning information like this was excellent! That meant there were openings!

"Good job Majiramon, while you seem to be a lousy fighter I can't deny you make a wonderful spy and information gatherer" Dagomon half praised half insulted. Relishing in himself when he noticed Majiramon slightly mash his teeth.

"Yes…sir...thank you sir..." Majiramon replied stiffly.

"By the way how's that new eye treating you?" Dagomon inquired with an insincere playful tone.

Majiramon finally raised his head, and now in place of Majiramon's missing left eye was a small but powerful control spire core.

The tendrils could be seen under the dragon's face and snout, giving Majiramon the appearance of having large scarred throbbing veins. A somewhat disgusting sight. The core pulsated with dark electricity before Majiramon answered.

"It's…doing just...fine my lord…fine…"

Super LONG Important Author's Note PLEASE READ!: Sorry this chapter took so long, but I had exams the last week of school and project galore. Anyway this was another set up chapter, and the next chapter you'll all get to see the spars between the kids. Plus it was nice to tune into see how Ophanimon and the others were doing.

BTW King Whamon is another real digimon! He appeared in season 6, google him if you want a better mental picture! Now I didn't change anything on him appearance wise. The only thing I did change was making King Whamon a mega evolution for Whamon.

Because believe it or not, King Whamon is just considered a subspecies and only counts as a champion or ultimate digimon canonically.

Another misstep by the Digimon/Toei/Bandai staff if you ask me…

I also enjoyed that I finally got to use Davis for this chapter! I do like showing the observant side Davis DOES indeed have to him. As within Digimon 02 Davis is shown to be extraordinary at reading people. Also Davis' mispronunciations ARE on purpose! It just fit his character so much I had to do it.

Also I'll say now part three is where the shit really is going to hit the fan! This was the chapter I also had planned to answer a lot of questions.

Now onto IMPORTANT TIDBITS!

First of being how Dagomon was able to bring back Caturamon and Makuramon. Dagomon like he's done with Kari is able to send his minions into the souls/subconscious of Koichi and Impmon. As within the group those two do have the closest connection to the darkness element. So the presence of darkness in their own souls is nearly undetectable.

However sometimes this can manifest in nightmares…

Also don't think it's just Caturamon, and Makuramon that were/are going to be brought back, after all we haven't seen what Dagomon extracted from Koichi yet….Muhahahaha!

Second the Devas themselves. So now it's official on whose back and who's not. Believe me I took quite a lot of time carefully deciding who should come back, and who should not. In the end it was decided by which Devas would be willing to give up their loyalty the most, and which Devas displayed the most or in one case least in personality.

So I think my choices are pretty reasonable. To me Mihiramon, Pajiramon, Vajramon, Caturamon, Majiramon, and Makuramon seemed to be the most prone for absolute vengeance, and the ones who hated humans the most.

I mean with Indramon the guy was always so cold and cool I don't picture him getting hung up on vengeance. He just tried to do what he needed to do, hell even when he attacked, he never seemed particularly passionate.

I feel the same with Sinduramon, Sandiramon, and to a smaller extent Vikaralamon. Then Kumbiramon might just realize he'd be way in over his head. I mean he was defeated by Leomon, and he wasn't even part of the tamer group then!

Finally of course Lopmon wouldn't be joining Dagomon as in the end she was the only Deva still alive anyway. Plus Lopmon's obviously pro human.

That and I feel these guys had a bit more professional loyalty to their sovereign as honesty these guys tended to be the least hot headed. Even Vikaralamon kept a steady and lax walking pace as he destroyed Shinjuku.

Of course that leaves to question why then did I add Majiramon to the revived Devas? Because frankly he was the most mysterious of them, and honestly I thought it would be fun to work with him, that and him and Makuramon seem to have some kind of odd friendship that I wanted to explore.

That and you can't say that from what we saw Majiramon didn't get downright fierce and brutal when in battle. Plus I feel he would've had a personal vendetta against Ryo and Monodramon.

Third is the importance of names. I said a long time ago in one of my early chapters I would explain why digimon have names in my universe, and why they're important. I hoped everyone enjoyed the explanation, and the bit of character depth Bokomon got through it!

Finally this is a point a meant to bring up last chapter. With Umi's home life the only reason I was worried people would think it was mary sueish was because of the season my OC is a part of.

Seasons 1-4 of digimon never had a chosen child in a parental relationship that was unsalvageable. Because every time children from those seasons had problems with their parents or family they always made up.

It wasn't until seasons 5-6 that completely failed parental relationships were displayed. So I was just a little worried that people would think I was over playing the sympathy card, but I'm happy to say that wasn't the case. You commenters definitely understood the reason I did that was it was more true to life.

After all not every relationship between a child and parent can be fixed. It's sad but it's more true to life. That was one of the high points that I really liked in seasons 5 and 6.

Also thanks to Canuck72 for pointing out something that I needed to clarify and that was the warrior's story about how they didn't tell their parents about their adventure. Canuck72 graciously pointed out that the warriors did have enough proof that they're parents would've at least taken their story under consideration.

I admit my fault there. I was going to bring this up in a later chapter, but I had left it to vague and unclear in the chapter it was revealed. Because those things I mentioned in this chapter are things that Canuck72 mentioned as well. However I had always planned on going into later in the story the "True" reason the warriors didn't tell their folks. In fact it will most likely be in this arc.

But I'm still at fault for making that last chapter much too vague and holey so I apologize.

Anyway here are the Rookie attack upgrades I promised last chapter along with a translation. I'm only listing the new attacks (so no relisting of feather strike, spiral twister, Vee-headbutt, basically all the cannon show attacks), and a * will be by the newly added or replaced attacks.
