Gunnar and Tyra were very reluctant to return to school, they had the rest of the week off. They loved their little brother, he was even more awesome than Odette, not that the twins were willing to admit it to anyone but their mother. They did make sure to take hundreds of photos and pretty much recorded their entire time, uploading it so that their cousins could meet the newest member of the family.

For Mia, being a mother was one of the things she knew she was made for, it was easy for her. Now though, as she was Jet as well as everything else, she made certain to pump milk so Pepper could feed Baldur, in case she was called off suddenly. It rarely happened, she hated being far from her son, but Rhodey was starting to make big headway in bringing down the Ten Rings, or so he said, and that meant she was needed more often.

When Phil had first met the newborn, he had beamed at hearing his name, enjoying the job of being an honorary uncle from the very beginning. He would come around whenever he was in town, he'd gotten his own entry card the day everything went online, and was well aware that he had his own room in the making below the kids' floor.

Exactly 2 months after Baldur's birth, Mia was feeding him when Jarvis brought up a SHIELD alert that had just been put into the system, a system she had been hacking into for the past 5 years. Bringing it closer, she smiled as she read the report, "Steve Rogers has been found. Phil will be pleased."

Three days later, Mia had handed her boy over to an eager Pepper, she had hinted to Mia that she was practicing for the future. Peppering the newborn with kisses and getting a tiny smile, the witch then apparated to stand beside Phil, "Morning."

"Holy shit!" The agent swore, his hand going to his heart, "Mia?!"

"Don't have a heart attack on me Phil," she laughed, hugging her friend before sitting with him, "I see you guys found the Captain."

Phil waved her off, he needed to calm his heart. Waiting for him to settle, the witch went to the edge of the platform and looked over to see a quaint bedroom, setup to look as though it was in the 1940's. In the bed, fast asleep, dressed in shirt and shorts, was a muscular man about her height with military regulation blonde hair.

"We've made it look as though he is still in 1945, help him to adjust to everything that happened, and then…"

"Then you are going to inform him that everyone he knew is gone or damn close, that he is a soldier and he has only ever truly known war, and then drop on him that you have a team of extraordinary people who are going to fight for the earth should the time come," Mia cut her friend off, not mad at him as she knew it wasn't his idea, "That sound about right?"

"Sounds exactly right," Fury said from the doorway, "Congratulations on your newborn Granger."

The witch smiled, she might not have liked the director much but she knew he was a decent guy underneath it all, "Thank you sir."

"I hope you don't intend to mess with my plan"

"Would I do something like that?" Mia smiled innocently.

"In a heartbeat"

Taking a seat again, Mia waited as the two suited men watched over their latest Avenger. A few hours later, just after lunch, Rogers began to come around, which had everyone peering at him from their positions. Everyone that is but the witch. She had silently apparated down to the outside of the room, stunning the woman who was about to walk inside. Using her key card, the woman entered, making sure to destroy the entry pad as soon as the door closed.

Steve was wary, he had just finished loosening up with some push-ups and an unknown woman about his age had come in, and she certainly wasn't dressed correctly, "Who are you?"

"I am Mia Granger, Captain Rogers," the witch conjured a chair for herself and quirked an eyebrow at his lack of surprise, "Wizard?"

"Muggleborne, trained at New York Magical," he looked around quickly, "My wand, my uniform, this isn't right at all. Where am I ma'am?"

"Well you are in New York City but the question you should ask is when you are," making the soldier take a seat, Mia sighed sadly, "I apologise to you Captain, no one should ever have to go through what you have. Your last memory, was it of you flying the Valkyrie into the ocean?"

He nodded and took a hesitant breath, "Ma'am, what is the date?"

"It is April 17th, 2012. You were frozen in time for almost 70 years," reaching out, Mia offered her hand to the shaken man, "The world you left, it is nothing like what you have been brought back into. I wish I could tell you that I was lying but I want you to know that you will not be alone to rediscover the world."

Steve acknowledged that he had heard her, giving her hands a squeeze of gratitude before standing and pacing. They could hear SHIELD agents pounding against the door and walls but the witch's own strengthening shields prevented them from making a dint. Slowly the man shortened his strides but showed his anger hadn't subsided fully, slamming his fist into the wall, going through the shield and blowing a hole through the wall.

Mia sighed and sat him back down, healing his hand as he spoke, "Why didn't they just leave me in the ocean? They had no right to do this. What about my friends? Peggy? God, I had a date set with her."

"There is a reason they brought you back Captain, they want to have you lead a group of extraordinary people during the event that earth is attacked and needs heroes," the brunette explained.

"And Peggy?"

She shook her head slightly, "I'm sorry. Margaret Carter married a man you saved in Europe a few years after the war was over, they had a long time together, and had a son and daughter. She helped Howard Stark found SHIELD, the same agency that brought you back and are trying to invade to kill me for being in here, worked with them as an agent for many years. Later in life she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, her husband had passed on in the 80's, and she died in her sleep 2 years ago, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren."

Steve had a happy smile on his face, "I'm glad she found love and had a full life."

"She never forgot you though, neither did Howard Stark. Ms Carter named her son Steven Grant, and he went on to join the army at 18, as have all members of her family over the years. And Howard had a son, Anthony, who he would tell all about his good friend Steve Rogers as Tony grew up."

"How do you know that?"

"Well I've spent the last 3 days, since learning that you were found, looking for your old friends, see if there was anyone who could help you transition easier, unfortunately the only ones who are still alive are not all there anymore. But I did find Steven, he's retired from the Army now and was more than willing to tell me all about his mother, and about you," Mia grinned, "As for Tony, well he's as close to a brother as they get to me, one of many."

Steve sighed, sitting back in his chair, "Ma'am…"

"Captain, call me Mia, please," the witch said with a groan, she hated being called that.

"As long as you call me Steve," getting a nod, the soldier continued, "This group of heroes, who are they?"

"Well there is myself, I'm Jet," showing her arc reactor, "This is keeping me alive but also powers a black suit of armour that I use along with magic and a pair of swords. Then there is Tony, otherwise known as Iron Man, and he has the same suit only in red and gold, plus all the technological gadgets under the sun. That's it for the official members but there are also those who will join when the time comes.

"Two agents from SHIELD, Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton, they are highly trained in weaponry, Tash is the greatest assassin and spy in the world, while Clint is the best archer I have ever seen. They're called Black Widow and Hawkeye respectively. Then there is Dr Bruce Banner. He was researching Dr Erskine's Super Soldier Serum, no idea what it was for though, and ended up using it on himself to prove it would work. Well, it worked but not in the same way it did for you.

"Bruce is known at the Hulk, and he can turn into an 8 foot 6 green beast, a force to be reckoned with. At first he was controlled by his pulse rate, if it got too high for whatever reason he would be forced to change. Thankfully, over the years, he's trained himself to not be a slave to his pulse," leaning in, she had whispered that part, "But don't tell the agents, got to keep things like that a secret. And we have a final member who is definitely not a part of this world.

"Thor is an Asgardian prince, known to Muggles as the Norse God of Thunder but we know better. Anyway, he's not actually able to help at any time soon because the bifrost bridge was destroyed when he was saving another realm, which is incredibly hard to deal with because it meant he missed out on the birth of his son."

Steve had listened quietly until that part, "Wait, son?"

The brunette nodded, "Yeah, Baldur Phillip Thorson, he's 2 months and 3 days old, I left him with his Aunt Pepper, she's getting some practice in for her future. My twins though were, for the first time ever, willing to not return to Hogwarts so they could spend more time with their brother."

"Twins?"

From the hole in the wall, Fury cut off the witch's answer, "Granger! Before you start on your insane family, let us in!"

"Why? Just ask him from out there"

"I swear to god, I will string you up," the black man looked as though he would burst a vessel before looking at the soldier, "Captain Rogers, will you join the Avengers?"

"Yes," Steve said easily.

"Very well, we have an apartment for you not far…"

The man was cut off, "I will work for you but, if she has room, I would rather stay with someone who didn't try to deceive me."

Mia chuckled as she nodded, "Yeah, I certainly have the room. Come on, we'll even get you another wand in a few days."

"Granger!"

"Nicholas, tell Phil he can come around to check on Steve's condition," standing alongside the equal height man, the witch held him and waved, "Too roo."
