Eragon walked down the grand staircase slowly, with Saphira trailing behind him. The rider did not open his mind, for fear of being attacked; however, the rider did move slowly and he observed everything around him. The stairs seemed to be made of granite, they were sturdy and could seemingly stand the test of time. The staircase was long and the further down Eragon walked, the darker his surroundings seemed to become. Eragon frowned when, he tried to cast a spell to illuminate his surroundings, but it did not work.

Saphira, it seems magic does not work here, my spell had no effect.

Tread carefully little one.

Eragon sent his consent mentally, then once again closed off his mind. The rider continued to walk forward until he felt the staircase end, unsure of what to do next, the rider stood still. After a few moments passed, Eragon's eyes darted left as an unseen torch seemingly lit itself. Now that he could see, Eragon walked straight towards a large and imposing double door. Eragon studied the door carefully, it was inscribed with a depiction of countless dragon riders, who all held their Gedway Ignasia's to the sky. The sky was cloudy and the outline of a great dragon could be seen, one that was big enough to cover the sky.

Saphira, what do you think of this?

I think we should open that door and embrace our wyrda Eragon.

Eragon took a deep breath, he could feel his hands shaking from nervousness. With one mighty push, the dragon rider opened the large doors, allowing an immense amount of light to momentarily blind him. After a few seconds passed, the rider's eyes adjusted to the light and Eragon's breath held still in amazement.

Eragon looked around him in awe, as he found himself in some sort of grand cathedral. The walls were made of glass and held murals of countless riders and their greatest triumphs. The floor was the most beautiful marble the rider has ever seen, it shone with an unmattched brilliance, almost as if crafted by dragon's magic. The ceiling held a grand jewel the color of topaz, it was clear that the place was imbued with an immense amount of magical energy.

Eragon look!

The rider turned his head just in time to see the doors behind himself and Saphira close, then once he turned back around the rider witnessed something truly special. Towards the back of the cathedral, the floor opened and a throne erected itself from the ground below. The throne was all gold, highlighted by an indescribable feeling of superiority and on that throne sat an elf, who seemed both wise and powerful.

Eragon and Saphira watched as the elf, who wore a regal gold tunic, stood up from his throne and walked towards them slowly. Eragon felt his hand move towards the hilt of his sword subconsciously.

"Do you know who I am?"

For some reason, that could not be explained, Eragon knew exactly who the elf was.

"Yes, your name is Eragon."

The elf smiled, "Yes, my name is Eragon. Welcome to the Vault of Souls, we have been expecting you."

"How are you here? Alive, I mean."

"Neither of us are alive right now; however, our souls are speaking. The Vault is a magical place where the souls of all dragon rider's rest. I'm sure you know the stories of a dragon's Eldunari correct?"

"Yes, I have been in contact with an Eldunari."

The elf nodded his head knowingly, "Aye, well, the Vault of Souls serves a similiar function. Our Gedway Ignasia's are not just symbols of us becoming riders, they are gateways for the souls of riders and this Vault. When a rider dies, their soul will rest here, where one day our wisdom and power can be passed on to the worthy."

"Wait, so I'm not alive right now?"

"Full of questions you are. You and Saphira are both very much alive, we have just borrowed your souls, this place is a Vault of endless magic."

"So what happens next, how can I defeat Galbotorix?"

"Well first off, you will need to be much more patient than this. Then, you must listen to me closely, because I speak on behalf of all the riders in this vault. You are our last hope Eragon, Galbotorix has the power of dragons on his side, not only that, but he has years of experience and a wealth of knowledge that you do not. On this day we shall give you the power of the riders, to rival his power of dragons; however, this alone will not be enough. Your power will be unlike anything you have ever experienced, moving mountains will no longer seem impossible, and no person will be able to stand in front of you, except ofcourse Galbotorix. We riders do not know how strong he has become, we can only hope that this will make you his equal at least, from there we can only pray that wyrda is on your side."

Eragon nodded his head, listening carefully and putting everything the elder Eragon said, to his memory. "I understand."

"You must be safe and wary at all times Eragon, you are our only hope." Just as the elder Eragon finished his words, the human rider looked around him in awe as seemingly hundreds of riders aspirated out of thin air. Even Saphira was amazed by the spectacle, more and more riders aspirated in the grand cathedral, each one held up their Gedway Ignasia towards Eragon.

Then in a flash, Eragon felt energy blazing through his body, as every rider who held up their Gedway Ignasia seemed to be transferring their power into the rider. It was so much energy that, Eragon felt himself losing consciousness. Just before the rider finally passed out, he thought he could make out the face of...Brom.

Iszlandi turned her head to the left, something felt off to the queen. I feel like someone is here. Deciding that her gut feeling was not wrong, the elven queen rose from her throne and walked over to her armory. The elf picked up her trusty sword, which, was an amazing specimen. The sword was an emerald green, and the hilt was shaped like an elven crown, signifying her position of power. The pommel of her sword held three jewels, one sapphire, one ruby, and one emerald.

Calmly, the elven ruler walked towards the center of her large quarters and drew her blade. "You can come out now, I am ready."

"I can't say im surprised, as a family we have always been very perceptive." Iszlandi watched as her son stepped away from the shadows, revealing his crazed demeanor. Immediately Iszlandi's heart panged with pain, he was, after all, her son.

"Ah mother, if you are surprised you hide it well. Perhaps you've spoken to my sister already?"

Iszlandi frowned, "I have."

Rexus smiled, "Why do you seem so serious queen? You know, maybe a small part of me was expecting an apology, you know? For banishing my name from existence and stuff like that."

"I did what I had to do, if you were sane, I would have protected you."

"I was sane, I was manipulated by Evander and you know this! All I ever wanted was to become strong, nothing more." As he spoke, Iszlandi watched her son's eyes revert from green to a bloodshot red.

"You were obsessed son, we did what we had to."

"Now I will do what I have to do." Rexus raised his sword diagnol to his body, the elf was clearly going to take Iszlandi much more seriously than a nomal opponent.

"Fine." Iszlandi raised her blade, and ran forward towards Rexus. The queen noticed her son's concentration and quickly realized the technique he was utilizing, thinking quickly, the queen casted a spell.

Rexus moved with lightning speed, Iszlandi raised her blade just in time to deflect an attack, then her spell took affect, making the floor beneath them slippery. Rexus lost his footing and Iszlandi pressed her advantage. The wise elf struck to his left, blocked, then she attacked his right, blocked, finally Iszlandi got creative and spun to her left, ducked an incoming slash, threw her blade over Rexus's head and while he was confused the elf ran past him, caught her sword and struck it out backwards. It was an awkard, yet amazing display and if it were not for Rexus's speed saving him, it would have worked.

"Unorthodox I see, I expect nothing less than greatness from our family." After his words the elf lunged forward swiftly, Iszlandi deflected his first attack and then began to utilize her best defensive maneuvers, as Rexus assualted her ferociously. The queen struggled to keep up with her son's speed and she could feel her energy lowering. Deciding to act quickly, Iszlandi jumped backwards then ran towards her armory while Rexus watched curiosly.

Before Rexus could see what Iszlandi was planning, the female elf turned around quickly and unleashed a bow straight towards the elf. Rexus's veins grew bigger as he mixed magic into his blood in order to dodge the attack in time. Once Iszlandi saw Rexus dodge the first bow, she unleashed two more, than ran forward. Rexus side stepped the two bows, than dodged an over head strike from Iszlandi, who was swinging with her bow now. Rexus swung his blade forward trying to cut the bow in half, only to realized her bow was protected by wards.

"Hey stop it!" Both Iszlandi and Rexus turned their heads to see Bloodgharm and two other elves standing at the entrance of her tent.

"Guess it's time to go! Datia!" Rexus created a mist, and before Iszlandi or Bloodgharm could stop him, Rexus escaped.
