It was a Sunday afternoon and everyone was getting in the Christmas spirit. Rachel, Adam and the kids were putting up the tree.
"Abs pass me those lights would you" Adam said.
Abbie went to find the lights when she found the twins sitting tangled in them. She started laughing and everyone turned around to see and started laughing too.
"What are they like" Rachel said laughing as she went to untangle them.
"Here you go love" Rachel said as she passed the lights to abbie.
"mummy can we watch a Christmas movie later?" Asked Sophie.
"How about after tea yeah?" Rachel said and Sophie nodded excitedly.
"Can we have hot chocolate and marshmallows too" asked chloe.
"Why not" said Rachel.
A little while later abbie was upstairs in her room when she began to get really bad cramps. She went to the toilet and discovered blood on her pants. Abbie began to cry when she realised she had started her period, Rachel had always said she could speak to her about it but right now Abbie just wanted her mum.
Rachel was downstairs making dinner when she heard banging coming from upstairs.
"Adam will you watch this pasta for two minutes" Rachel asked.
"Yeah of course" Adam said getting up from the table.
Rachel got to the top of the stairs and saw Sophie banging on the bathroom door.
"Hey, hey soph what are you doing" Rachel asked.
"I want to go in the shower and abbies been in there ages" Sophie moaned to her mum.
"Look go shower in my bathroom okay" Rachel told her realising something must be wrong with abbie.
Sophie sighed before going to Rachel's room.
"Abbie, is everything okay?" Rachel asked.
"Abbie please let me in love" Rachel said,
Just after the door unlocked and Rachel walked in and found Abbie crying.
"Hey, what's happened" Rachel said crouching down to Abbie.
"I've started my period" said Abbie not wanting to keep it quiet any longer.
"Oh love, its okay, you should have just come and told me" Rachel said.
"I know i was just being stupid and didnt want anyone to know"
"Its nothing to be ashamed of it happens to every girl, Sophie will be out the shower soon and then we can go chat about it in my room okay?" Rachel told her and Abbie nodded feeling better already.
Later that evening after dinner and the the twins had been put to be everyone snuggled down onsofa to watch a Christmas movie. Sophie and Chloe had picked Santa paws two for everyone to watch, so they all sat with their hot chocolate.
The movie was really good and once it had finished Rachel took Sophie and Chloe up to bed.
She was about to head back downstairs when she heard crying from Chloe's room.
"Chloe whats wrong" asked Rachel as she headed into Chloe's room.
"Its nothing" Chloe said sniffling.
"Well its clearly something" Rachel said.
"Its just watching that film made me think of my mum, i really miss her sometimes" Chloe told her aunt.
"Its okay to miss her i bet she misses you loads too, now do you think your ready to sleep" Rachel asked.
Chloe nodded before snuggling down into her bed.
"Night love" Rachel said kissing her head.
"Night auntie rachel, love you"
"Love you too" said Rachel.
