That summer break came quickly. Sara had spent as much time as she could with Grissom before school ended. Grissom was set to leave June 13th and wasn't going to be back home until August 22nd. He and Sara had packed for leaving the house for the summer.

"Gil," Sara said walking into his room.

"What's up hon?"

"Could I maybe bring a sweatshirt or two with me to Nick's? I think if I slept in one while you're gone I might be able to sleep better."

"Of course, come over here." He patted the ground next to Sara. "I wanted to give you something else to remember me by while I'm gone."

"Please tell me you didn't…"

"It wasn't expensive like normally Sara, plus Jim helped me out with it too," he said interrupting.

Grissom took out small box and handed it to Sara. She opened it to find a ring with a small stone.

"Is this real?"

"I can't say."

"Sara, close together or far apart you are always in my heart," Sara read aloud from the card inside the box.

"Gil." Sara smiled and wrapped Grissom in her arms. "I love you so much."

"I love you too Sara." He handed her two sweatshirts and his cologne.

"I can't take this," Sara said going to hand him his collonge back.

"I want you to, I don't want any british girls thinking I wanna hook up or anything while I'm there. Plus, my sweatshirts will lose the scent of me, so now you have more."

Grissom smiled as Sara looked at him with the cutest expression on her face. She leaned in kissing him as they fell backwards.

"We should finish packing," Grissom said, breaking the kiss.

"I don't want to." Sara laid down on the ground next to Grissom before placing her head and hand on his chest.

"I'm gonna miss this, being able to sleep on you like this."

"Hey, if you need to, you can sleep with Nick alright? I don't want you staying up all night because you're anxiety is bad and you need to sleep with someone."

"Alright, I promise that's the only time I'll do that."

"I love you."

"I love you too. You'll skype me twice a week right?"

"Of course."

"Alright, Nick's gonna be here soon."

"Go, I'll meet you outside."

Sara kissed him one last time before going back to her room and putting Grissom's things into her bag. She sighed and looked around, checking to make sure she got everything. The doorbell rang 5 minutes later and Sara knew it was going to be Nick. She grabbed her suitcase and backpack before heading downstairs.

"Hey, Sar, you ready?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"Lemme take that to the car," Nick said taking the suitcase from Sara, "I'll give you a minute."

Nick walked down to the car and waited for Sara.

"I'm gonna miss you so much Gil."

"I know, and I feel the same way. We can make it through this though, Sara."

Grissom could see the tears swelling into Sara's eyes as she hugged him.

"Don't cry, please Sar."

"I'm sorry, I just can believe I'm gonna spend the summer away from you."

"I know."

Grissom pulled out of the hug and took Sara's face in his hands before kissing her.

"I'll text you when I get into London alright?"

"Alright. Good luck."

"Thanks, have fun in Texas alright?"

"I'll make sure to bring you something special."

Grissom smiled and hugged Sara one last time before they split ways. Betty drove him to the airport and Nick's sister drove Nick and Sara back to the Stokes house. Grissom waited a while before his plane took off. Sara got to Nick's quickly and followed as Nick walked her to her room, which was actually Cath and Wren's room, but Cath was already in Texas so Sara would be in her bed.

"We replaced the bedding and everything. We're leaving for Texas Tuesday so there's no reason for you to unpack."

"Thanks Nick."

Sara hugged Nick tightly and held back the crying she wanted to let go of so badly.

"You gonna be alright kiddo," he asked her lightly.

That broke her. She couldn't hold it. Sara gripped the back of Nick's shirt and bawled silently as she shook her head. Nick held her tighter and showed Wren when she tried to come in.

"Sh sh, Sara. I know, I know. Let it out."

Nick was so understanding when it came to Sara. He held her as she cried for a good ten minutes before she started to calm down.

"Nick, Sara," Wren called from the bottom of the stairs, "dinner's ready."

"You good," He asked holding her still.

"Yeah, thanks."

"I'm always right down the hall alright?"

"Alright."

"Come on, Mom made sure she had a vegetarian dinner ready for tonight."

"Oh she didn't have to."

"Hey, I told her you don't eat red meat so she made homemade chicken tenders and a bunch of steamed veggies."

"You're mom's cool. My mom killed my dad and never cooked for me."

"Hey, don't worry about her alright?"

Nick helped Sara stand and they walked into the kitchen.

"Hey kids," Nick's mom said to him and Sara.

"Hi Mrs. Stokes. Thank you for letting me stay with you and your family this summer."

"Not a problem Sara! Nick told us about Grissom going to London, I know you'd be missing him at home so welcome to your second home."

Sara smiled as Nick nudged her.

"Nicholas, would you and Sara set the table please?"

"Sure mom."

Sara and Nick went into the cabinets and took 9 plates.

"There's a lot of people," Nick said.

Sara took the plates and placed them around the table. Nick placed a knife and fork at each seat as he followed Sara around the table. Slowly each of Nick's siblings filed in and took their normal seats. Nick sat in his seat while Sara stood shyly in the corner waiting to be told where to sit.

"Sar?"

"I'm just."

"Sit next to me, MJ can sit next to Wren."

Sara moved to the seat next to Nick and looked down to the floor.

Nick saw her and knew she was nervous and scared. He pulled her chair closer to his and hugged her.

"If you need to be excused, tap my leg alright?"

"Okay."

"Happy thoughts Sar."

She nodded and hugged Nick back.

Soon everyone was sitting and Nick's mom ha started to say grace.

"Dear Lord thank you for this beautiful day you have given us. Thank you for this meal. We are blessed to have our family and our sons dear friend with us tonight. Amen."

Everyone followed with an amen and started to plate their food.

Sara was shy and took only a little bit of food.

"Sara, come on now. Take some more," Mrs. Stokes said.

"I'm good, Mrs. Stokes. I'll take more if I need it."

Sara smiled and took a bite of a carrot. Dinner was long and gruling for Sara.

Sara ran to the room she left her stuff in and grabbed her laptop right as Grissom started a video call.

"Hey."
