aiyana unintentionally motivated me to write something about Cam since she's listed on this story as a character. aiyana, thanks for the challenge! (And quick side note, you said I don't have Cam anywhere, but I do! :) Check out chapters 4, 6, 8, 26, and 27.)

Besides aiyana, a couple of others have given me some Cam challenges, specifically wanting to see Cam/Arastoo together. I have to admit, I cannot write any Cam/Arastoo … or maybe I'm just not trying hard enough? Hah.

Oh, and spoiler alert for "The Turn in the Urn."

Disclaimer: I don't own Bones.

Camille Saroyan excelled in many areas: handling herself on a witness stand in a courtroom, overseeing an extremely gifted but not-so-by-the-books lab team, managing her money despite recent setbacks, romantic relationships (OK, that was still sort of up for debate), expert forensic analysis, swift paperwork and logistics skills — just a few of the items in her list of specialties.

How to handle a break up was not one of her specialties, and she had been dreading going home on Friday. Stalling at work, she waited until the last possible minute to leave her office and go home for the weekend, knowing her daughter would be moping at home, upset over breaking poor Finn's heart.

What was she supposed to do about it? Michelle was her daughter. Finn was her intern. Neither were going anywhere — well, Michelle was headed back to school on Sunday afternoon and Finn had an off week on the intern rotation, but still. Both were going to remain an active part of her life, and this break up would blow over eventually.

Right?

For the time being, Cam knew she was stuck, and forced to be the consoler for her weepy daughter, who she found sitting on the couch with a mound of used tissues beside her.

Michelle nodded at the pile of tissues in an attempt to explain herself. "I totally suck at break ups."

"Pretty sure you get that from me."

Michelle rolled her eyes. "Very funny."

"It's true. Ask Angela … or Booth." Cam hesitated, and then quickly corrected herself. "Actually, don't ask Booth. Ever."

Michelle stayed silent and simply reached for another tissue.

"You know, just to be safe, you probably shouldn't ask Angela either."

Breaking into a slight smile, Michelle shook her head and sniffled. "Did I do the right thing?"

"Michelle." Sitting down on the couch, Cam put an arm around her daughter and sighed. "You know I can't answer that."

"Yes, you can!"

"I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't."

"Did you like him?"

"Of course I like Finn. He's one of my interns."

Michelle crossed her arms over her chest. "He's Dr. Brennan's intern."

"I'm the one who signs their checks," Cam reminded. "They are my interns."

"So you like him."

Cam nodded. "I do."

"Then I did the wrong thing?" She looked at Cam, hopeful for some kind of an answer. "I did. I totally did the wrong thing. Didn't I?"

"You know I can't answer that." Cam gazed at Michelle with a sad smile. "Please don't make me answer that."

"I … I thought it was the right thing." Michelle paused. "But he … he just looked so, so sad."

"Of course he did. He cares about you. He should be sad."

"I hate making people sad."

"Good." Cam promptly backpedaled at her daughter's confused and teary expression. "You shouldn't like to make people sad. That would make you a bad person. And you're a good person. I mean …"

"God." Michelle let out a laugh as she wiped her eyes. "Cam, I love you, but I was wrong."

"What?"

"I was wrong. I don't totally suck at breakups. You totally suck at breakups."

"I warned you!" Cam shrugged. "How about something I don't suck at?"

Giving Cam a skeptical look, Michelle waited for the pending suggestion.

"Ice cream sundaes and a movie? No chick flicks," Cam quickly noted.

"Best thing you've said all night."

I have to confess: I haven't been on board with Michelle and Finn. I find it very odd (and kind of wrong) for Cam to be dating one intern and her daughter to be dating another. Initially, I wasn't super sold on Cam and Arastoo, but now that Michelle and Finn are done, I find myself much more on board with the whole idea. (And last night's episode helped, too!)
