I hope you guys liked Lena's introduction last chapter. I hope you're not too mad at me for going through with making Becca a hybrid. I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts! I do not anything in this chapter, besides my ocs, everything belongs to their rightful owners.
Chapter 35
#$#%^#%$
Lena was off in search of coffee. She needed a break from her mother and Finn's plotting and Kol wasn't answering his phone. He'd been teaching her all kind of spells in their free time. That is, when he wasn't following a certain brunette witch around. Lena knew her brother well enough to know he fancied the witch they were meant to befriend.
She couldn't see that ending well. Their mother usually got her way in some form, no matter how long it took.
Looking around the street, she noticed how different things were. When she was alive people dressed much differently, roads weren't paved, and cars weren't invented yet.
"You look lost." A voice said out to her.
Startled, Lena turned to see it was that girl. "Oh, um, am I that obvious?"
Davina laughed, shaking her head. She adjusted her back on her shoulder and looked around. "No, I've seen worse. Can I help you?"
Lena was surprised at how nice this girl was. She wasn't expecting her to be nice after how her mother described her. She wasn't her brother's usual ditzy type either. She had to be smart if she was as powerful as her mother told her. "That'd be great. Thank you. I'm just looking for somewhere to get good coffee." She said, giving her a small smile.
The witch returned the smile as she nodded. "There's a coffee shop this way. I'm on my way there now. I'll walk with you. I'm Davina."
"My name is Ni-Lena. It's Lena." She said, catching herself as she walked down the street with this girl.
Nikolena was not a common name in this time, her mother had warned her. It'd be best to just go as Lena. Lena was caught off guard by how kind this girl was being to her. The two girls continued down the street toward a nice little bakery. "So what brings you to the Quarter?" Davina asked as she held the door open.
The blonde gave her a small nod of thanks as she entered the bakery. "My brothers moved here a while ago. I've come to visit them. It's been . . . a very long time since I've seen them."
It wasn't exactly a lie.
Davina seemed to buy it as she nodded. The two girls ordered and paid for their drinks before heading outside. Both were laughing over a joke as they crossed the street. Neither noticed Kol watching them from across the street as he chewed on an apple.
Everything was going according to plan.

After making plans to see Davina later, the two split off and went their seperate ways. As she was leaving, she noticed her brother following the other witch and knew he was following orders. Their mother wanted to know what the witch was up to. She and Kol were to meet her and Finn at the graveyard later on.
As she was walking, she paused at one of the building. It was the compound Klaus and Elijah lived in with their two little hybrids. They caused a massacre on the last full moon and got rid of the Guerrera wolves. Their mother said it was better for them in the end. Niklaus and Elijah had done them a favor.
She missed them so much. Especially Niklaus. He was her closest siblings before they'd left her behind all those years ago. She wanted to see how much he'd changed and if any of the Niklaus she remembered was still there. She wanted to see her older brother Elijah and tell him of all she's learned since waking up. She wanted to learn about the decades she'd missed.
Lena couldn't break her mother's rules though. She was not to make herself known to her brothers until the time was right. She just wasn't sure how much longer she could wait.
"Can I help you?" A voice said out.
She tensed up, her eyes going wide before taking a deep breath and turning around. It was one of Nik's hybrids, she realized. She was around her height with dark brown curls. From the dress, she'd guess this is the one Nik loved. "No, no. I was just admiring the building. Beautiful details." She lied, glancing back at the building.
The girl didn't believe her. Did she already figure out she was a witch? A few witches had gone missing last night. Did she have a hand in that or was it just Nik? This girl could very well kill her before she could say another word. "Becca, love, who's your friend?" Kol said out as he came up behind her.
Lena never was so relieved to see Kol. He'd fix her mistake, she knew he would.
Becca looked back to him before looking at her. "She was just . . . admiring the compound. I wasn't sure if she was lost."
Lena looked to Kol, wondering how he was going to get her out of here before Nik and Elijah came out to investigate. If one of them saw her, she'd face mother's wrath. She had only a few rules, and Lena couldn't even follow the first one.
Kol moved between them, his eyes shifting from one girl to the other. "Why don't you go inside, darling? Nik will be wondering where you've gone."
At the mention of her brother, her heart swelled. She wished it was her who could go inside and see him. From the look on the girl's face, she could see the feelings weren't muteral. "Your brother can wonder all he wants. I was on my way out." She said, a look of distain on her face as she looked at the compound.
With one last look, Becca left the two standing there. Kol waited until she was out of hearing distance before turning back to her. He grabbed her arm roughly. "What do you think you're doing here? You could have ruined everything." He snarled as he pulled her along.
Lena struggled to keep up with him. "Kol, you're hurting me."
He didn't seem to hear her as he dragged her along. They had to meet their mother and Finn at the graveyard and they couldn't be late. "I don't bloody care, Lena. I warned you not to go near the compound. Someone was going to see you, which they did. You're lucky it wasn't Nik or Elijah. Hell, you're lucky it wasn't Hayley either given her and Nik's witch hunt last night." He went on, sparing her a glance.
She skidded to a stop when Kol suddenly paused. She took the pause as her chance to pull free from his hold. "I didn't do it on purpose. Did you find out anything useful with Davina?"
The two walked to the graveyard and headed inside. He was about to answer her when another voice rang out. "I'd like to know the answer to that as well."
The two siblings shared a look before heading over to their mother and brother. They fell in step with them as they walked through the cementary. "Well, you were right to be suspicious. Davina's hiding something in that attic. The door was locked with a rather complexed spell." Kol explained as he fiddled with something in his hand.
"Could be a weapon, source of power. I'd prefer not to leave anything to chance. Better we know what she has and whose side she's on. So you'll take her to dinner." Esther said, pointing to Kol.
"I just stood her up for coffee. She probably hates me by now." Kol said as they rounded the corner.
Finn rolled his eyes, his eyes narrowing on his younger brother. "Just do as you're told, Kol."
"Of course, Finn the sycophant speaks up." Kol said with a scoff. "You gonna grovel at your mother's heels for eternity?"
"Don't be rude, Kol." Lena spoke up, nudging him to cut it out.
"Stop it, both of you." Esther said as continued on ahead. "There's enough conflict to come."
The four came upon a ground of people then. They didn't look to be in good shape. Kol and Lena shared a look before glancing around. "Look at this pack of freeloaders." Kol said as he took in the dirty appearances.
"Nonsense. These are our friends." Esther said as she looked around. "Wolves in need of a gift only I can provide. Moonlight rings."
The four headed inside of the tomb, leaving the wolves outside. "The witches have been working day and night. Soon we will have enough rings for an army. And when we do . . . we will pay your brothers a visit."
Kol, Finn, and Lena looked around at the witches as they worked on preparing the rings. Esther picked up one of the stones and examined it. "And we will teach them the unforunate error of their vampire ways."
"Mother, in case you forgot, I'm still a vampire." Kol pointed out.
Esther nodded, knowing good and well what he was. If she had her way, that would soon change for all her children. "You won't be for much longer, Kol. Your brothers and sister either."
Lena hesitated, wanting to ask her mother a question that could end very badly. "Mother, when will I be able to see Niklaus and Elijah? It's been months since I've been back."
Esther studied her for a moment. She could see how nervous Lena looked. She was expecting the worst, but hoping for the best. She reached up and stroked her cheek affectionately. Lena tensed at the touch. Kol felt his body go ridged, expecting the worst. "Perhaps as a show of good faith Kol can bring you to them. They need to believe you're still on their side. How appreciative they'll be when you bring home their lost baby sister." She said, her eyes flickering between Lena and Kol.
Lena and Kol both looked surprised, but Kol knew there had to be more to it. There mother never showed her cards until she was ready to show them. Lena being back was one of her biggest cards to play and he was surprised she'd reveal it so early in the game. "What's the catch, mother?" He asked curiously.
She turned to look at him innocently. "There is no catch. I'm sure your brothers will be over joyed to see young Nikolena again after all these years."
Kol didn't trust her, but he wasn't going to argue with her either. He simply nodded and looked around. "When do you want me to make this homecoming happen?"
"Soon. Very soon."

After a long day, Becca found herself soaking in the bath. She'd spent most of the day exploring and testing her limits. She did pretty well in crowds, but not for as long as she'd like. It was better than being couped up in the house alone all day though. Elijah was out trying to find the stakes, Kol kept disappearing, and Klaus was out with Hayley all day. She tried not to focus on that though.
"I don't suppose I can join you, love?" Klaus asked as he leaned against the door frame.
Becca washed her arm with the scrubby, pretending not to notice him. "How was your day with Hayley?"
Klaus studied her for a moment and realized she was jealous. He and Hayley had had a brief fling about a year ago and she was still threatened by the new hybrid. "No need to be jealous. Hayley simply just needed to be reminded of her duties as a pack leader." He said, his eyes shamelessly taking her in.
She blushed seeing the hunger in his eyes. "I'm not jealous, and I'm still mad at you for snapping my neck."
He chuckled, shaking his head as he slipped off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. He sat himself on the side of the tub and pulled her foot up. Before she could scold him, he grabbed the scrubby and began to wash her leg. "I haven't been there for you these past few months. For that, I apologize. You need not worry about my relationship with Hayley." He said, his eyes never straying from hers.
She knew it was stupid to feel jealous. With everything going on, she was sure some old fling was the last thing on either of their minds. Hayley was still adjusting to being a hybrid and she and Klaus lost their daughter. Studying him, she realized there was something else on his mind. "What happened today? You look on edge." She said, laying up as she pulled her foot away from him.
Klaus looked hesitant, like he didn't know if he should tell her or not. He wasn't even sure how to tell her. He was still processing it in him mind. "My parents are back in the world of the living. Both are out to destroy us." He confessed, searching her eyes for some sort of reaction.
Becca was surprised to say the least. She wasn't expecting that. She could see how much this was affecting him though and knew his mind must be spinning. She reached out and took his hand in hers. "They won't destroy us. We beat them once. We'll beat them again." She said, squeezing his hand.
He raised her hand and kissed her knuckles before leaning over to press his lips against hers. It'd been months since he last kissed her. She reached up and cupped his face, deepening the kiss. She suddenly laughed when he almost fell into the tub with her. It was nice to hear her laugh again, he realized.
He chuckled, pulling away before he slipped and started to take off his shirt. He was about to start on his belt when a voice met his ears. Voices, to be correct. "Hold that thought, love. We have guests. I'll be right back." He said, kissing her quickly before pulling his shirt back on and heading out to see what was going on now.
Becca laid back against the tub and touched her lips. She should be mad at him for what he did the other night when the wolves attacked. He didn't trust her to protect herself. He thought he knew best for her as he always did.
Still, she couldn't focus on her anger against him when she needed him to help bring her daughter home. She had to focus on that instead and how to make that happen. Now with Esther and Mikael being back, they had even more to deal with.
Not waiting for Klaus to return, she got up and grabbed her towel. Wrapping it around her, she climbed out of the tub and made her way back to her room. Just because she couldn't afford the time to be angry with him, didn't mean she had to reward him either.
