Akari carted Dai by the hand through Kakashi's front door cradling Nao against her chest. The eldest son was carrying a small over the shoulder tote bag and a pillow in his other hand. He looked tired, with dark circles under his eyes, but he was wide awake. Akari sighed and shuffled into the house nodding politely at Iruka who was sitting on the cough, where Kakashi had been moments before they'd come to interrupt them. A gentle waft of music came from a stereo that they'd been listening too while reading. While Kakashi would never turn out his grandchildren and daughter the look on her face worried him. She was paler than normal and her hair was a mess, sticking out at odd angles while the rubbed at the back of her neck. She whispered softly to Nao in her arms as he cried.

"Dad, can you put Dai to bed?" she asked gently but there was a strain to her voice. Kakashi nodded and began to usher the young boy to the guest room down the hall. Iruka watched as the young woman rocked Nao trying to calm him. She reached up once to wipe at her eyes before nuzzling her face against the baby's neck taking a deep breath.

"What happened?" he asked softly. She glanced up since Nao had gone quiet, his little eyes closing and continued to rock him as she came into the room. Iruka made room for her to sit on the edge of the couch.

"I don't know. I don't know what to do." She stared at the table watching the flame on a candle dance.

"What do you mean?" Kakashi asked coming back into the doorway of the room furrowing his brows.

"Is Dai in bed?" she asked first.

"Yes." She sighed out leaning back against the couch being careful not to tussle Nao.

"Dad I haven't slept in days. Dai hasn't slept in days. Sasuke won't sleep at all." She looked up at him tiredly.

"He's not sleeping again?" he questioned coming closer to take Nao. Akari instinctively started to clutch the boy closer, something she'd always done since Dai was a child, but the gave in letting her father take the boy.

"I don't even know when it started this time. I guess it was about a week ago…" she sighed out exhausted closing her eyes. Akari began to explain how exactly they'd gotten into such a horrible fight…

Akari had just gotten back into the bedroom from checking on Nao when she noticed that Sasuke was sitting straight up in bed. She gently let out a breath, walking over to stand in front of him on at the edge of the bed. Moonlight streaked across her husband's face as he stared down into his lap head hung over, hair falling in his eyes. She put a hand slowly to his neck meaning to tilt his face up so that she could lean down to him but she stopped. His hand shot up grabbing her wrist gripping it there. His fingers curled around her wrist tightly.

"Sasuke…" she whispered gently. The grip tightened. Akarki fought the urge to hiss between her teeth. It hurt. She knew better. Sasuke had night terrors much of the time and sometimes nightmares so bad that he didn't know who was around him when he woke up. She knew that he was tormented by many things that had happened when they'd been younger. She took a deep breath and fought to keep her voice level. It was the best way to get him out of one of these.

"Sasuke." She tried again with only a little force behind it. A small gasp escaped her lips when he ripped her arm from his face shoving her away. He'd never done that before. She stumbled back a step and pulled her arm against her body as Sasuke stood up from the bed. His eyes glared past her in the darkness of their bedroom.

"Sasuke!" she snapped keeping her voice low so she didn't wake the boys. He took a step forward and she tensed taking a step back. As he took another step towards her, his eyes still not meeting her face, she felt her back press against the wall. She did not want to fight him. His eyes were half lidded with sleep. He had to be in a night terror. He wouldn't ever have hurt her.

"Sasuke please…" she whispered again as he stood over her. Akari sucked in a quick breath of shock and suddenly squeezed her eyes shut as Sasuke reared his arm back. He threw his fist into the wall beside her head forming a small dent. The thud seemed to wake him. Startled, Sasuke's eyes snapped wider as he took in Akari huddled against the wall clutching her arm.

"Oh my god…" he muttered. He reached for her but she tensed back from him eyes still shut. "Akari, I…I didn't…" she nodded biting her lip.

"I know you didn't. I…I need a minute." She whispered. He moved back giving her room and she shoved past him for the bathroom connected to their room. Sasuke listened as she shut the door locking it. From inside he heard a quiet sob.

The next morning Akari took care to get the boys out the door early. She wouldn't speak to Sasuke about anything that had happened the night before. She'd slept on the couch that night after coming out of the bathroom. As she came into the kitchen to pour a cup of coffee, something Sasuke knew she did at this time every morning before going to work, he made his way into the room. Slowly, so he didn't upset her, he came over to her side. He touched her elbow softly and glanced at her. Her hands settled around the cup and she didn't look up at him for a long moment. Silence seemed to filter in throughout the room.

"You have to get help Sasuke." She finally broke it. He blanched, eye wide, watching her. He let go of her.

"Excuse me?" she sighed reaching up to brush her silver bangs back from her eyes.

"I know that having a baby has been stressful lately. I know it's exhausting Sasuke, but…but you're not sleeping and the night terrors have gotten worse." She looked up at him pleadingly.

"I am fine." He said stubbornly. He watched her eyes filter to her wrist before looking back up at him.

"You're not fine. Last night…" she set her jaw. "Last night was not fine. What if Dai had seen you do that." Sasuke bristled.

"I would never do something like that in front of him." He snapped.

"You could have hit me!" she yelled finally losing it. He slammed his hand on the counter.

"I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING!" he shouted back.

"That's the problem!" she narrowed her eyes before looking away. "I know that you wouldn't hurt me. I know not intentionally…but Sasuke. Last night…you…I've never seen you so out of it. I said your name three times." He took a step back glaring at her.

"I am fine." He said again. "I'm going to work." He grabbed his vest from where it hung on the back of a chair and crossed the room. The door shut behind him with a final thud. Akari sighed running a hand down her face.

Akari let the next couple of days fly by in silence about the entire matter. Sasuke wasn't speaking to her much. He took Dai out to train and visit Naruto. He held Nao rocking him to bed. He ate dinner silently. He did not talk to her about their fight. Akari sat on the edge of the bed watching him sleep. She wanted to reach over the run her hand over his shoulder. She wanted to hug the man she loved. She couldn't. His eyes moved behind their lids as his shoulders tensed. She knew he was having another nightmare. He sucked in a hard breath and his eyes shot open. Akari noticed instantly and without being able to stop herself, moved back from where he laid.

"Baby…?" he whispered softly. There was slight agitation and fear to his voice.

"I'm right here." She felt herself relax as she reached forward for him. He shifted back sitting up.

"Karin…" he muffled running a hand through his hair. Akari felt her eye twitch. She narrowed her eyes and was unable to stop herself. She knew he was having a nightmare or a night terror but being called another woman's name…She was the mother of his children…anger flared and her face got red. Akari slapped him. She felt horrible the instant she'd done it but she couldn't help the action. She was on her feet her hand shaking as she watched him wake up. He put a hand to his face stunned and looked up at her.

"What in the HELL was that for!?" he fought the urge to scream at her.

"You…you!" she was trying so hard to force back the tears. "You called me Karin." Sasuke felt his chest tighten when that name rolled off her lips. He saw the pain in her eyes.

"I was dreaming. Akari you know that." He pleaded.

"You called me baby first." She seethed. "You were dreaming of another woman!" she balled her fists.

"Akari!" he said desperately. There wasn't much he could say. "I…I can't control the dreams lately…"

"That's why you need help!" she threw her arms up in the air. He got up shakily and reached for her but she swatted his hands away. He grabbed her right arm and tried to pull her closer.

"I do not need help! I need you to understand!" he said.

"Get off me!" she tried to pull her arm back. "I'm sleeping on the couch." She twisted her arm from his grip. He huffed not wanting to let go but when she twisted his latch started to break. She yanked away with so much force that when he suddenly let go she fell. Akari hit the floor. Sasuke immediately tried to bend down to her.

"Akari. I'm sorry…"

"Get away from me." She said without looking at him.

"I…"

"I said. Get away."

"Mom…" Dai's voice drifted in from the hallway as his little head peered into the bedroom. His eyes widened seeing what had happened.

"Dai." Akari instantly was on her feet. Without looking back at Sasuke she walked over to their eldest son and took his hand. "We're going to my father's."
