''As long as he is alive, we can not be together.'' Liana whispers regrettable.
''Give me one chance, one arrow, one opportunity and ...''
''No,'' says Liana and she lays her finger on his lips,'' I can not ask that of you.''
''I would do it for you, I would do anything for you.''
''I know, but will not allow you to kill another, no matter how much I long to be with you.''
''I made you the promise that we would be together one day and you should know by now that I always keep my promises.''
Liana smiles and leans forward for another kiss. She has missed his soft lips and forces them apart. When she meets his tongue she sighs longingly. Liana takes control of the kiss and pushes him back until he stands against the wall. One hand sneaks up and disappears into his hair, the other curls around his waist as she presses herself against him. When she deepens the kiss, it becomes desperate and needy and Kili must break it to catch his breath. Liana moves her lips to his jaw line and then to his neck and in one swift movement she slips her hands under his tunic. Kili covers her hands with his.
''Liana ...'' he gasps.
''Please, I want this, I need this, I need you.'' She say between kisses.
Kili swallows laboriously as her fingertip swirls around his nipple.
''And I need you too, but please, not here, not in a dusty wine cellar, you deserve better than that.''
Liana stops with her ministrations and looks at him.
''How long can you stay?'' she asks.
''For as long as you want me too.''
She sighs and leans sideways against him, Kili gently moves his hand over her back.
''How's your back?'' He asks.
Liana looks at him surprised.
''I have to tell you something.'' He says.
''Maybe we should do this together, we are after all in the same situation.'' Fili says.
Kili looks at him and nods.
''I'll just make some light.'' Eowyn proposes.
While Eowyn lights some torches so they can see each other better, Fili and Kili move two benches facing each other. The women sit next to each other on one and both brothers on the other.
''We dwarves all have a One.'' Fili starts.
''A One?'' Eowyn asks.
''Yes,'' Kili goes on,'' most of us never find that One but the dwarves who are lucky enough to find them notice that until that moment they have never been complete, that they have never been whole.''
''Okay.'' Liana hesitant says.
''Our father was our mothers One so we often asked her how we would know when we would find our One and she always said that we would know.'' Fili says.
''It would feel like coming home, like finding your destiny, the other part of your soul.''
''The bond between a dwarf and his One is so strong that nothing can break that and no distance is too great to keep them apart.'' Kili says and he looks at Liana.
Liana swallows with difficulty and has a vague idea of what he wants to say but can not grasp it. Kili reaches over and takes her hands.
''Do you remember when we were ... in the house ... you said it felt like I was made for you.''
Liana remembers and nods.
''That's because I am, I was made for you and you where made for me, Liana. We are meant to be, like two halves of one soul, only complete when they are together.''
''And you are my One, Eowyn, you are the other half of my soul.''
Liana takes her hands out of Kili's grip and stands up.
''Okay, this is all very ...''
''Sudden.'' Eowyn adds.
''We understand that and we understand it if you have to process this.''
''That applied for us too, it's never happened before that the One of a dwarf is of a different race.''
''Really?'' Eowyn asks.
''Why us then? Why are we your Ones and not two other dwarves?'' Liana asks.
''We don't know.'' Kili replies honestly.
''But we would not want it any other way.'' Fili says, and he smiles at Eowyn.
Eowyn smiles back and sits down next to him. Fili takes her hand and kisses her neck. Liana sees it and smiles and is a bit startled when she feels two arms from behind sliding around her waist. She laces their fingers together on her abdomen.
''Uncle knows too.'' Kili says suddenly.
''Really?'' Liana asks surprised.
''Yes, he Dwalin and Balin were there when I felt you pain. I had no choice. I also said that Eowyn is Fili's One.''
''What did he say'' Liana wants to know.
''He did not believe it, of course, but there is no other explanation for the fact that I felt your pain.''
''He will not do anything to keep us from seeing each other?'' Eowyn wants to know.
''No, he has not yet found his One but he knows how important it is for a dwarf. He will not stop us if we want to see you.'' Kili answers.
Suddenly she cramps up and squeezes Kili's hands. He is in front of her in a second.
''Liana, everything alright?'' he asks worried.
''Yeah, just a little stomach pain.'' she answers.
''Are you sure?''
''Yes. It is nothing.''
''Did you bring food with you?'' Eowyn suddenly asks.
''No, seeing the fact that someone was in a hurry to get here.'' Fili says and looks at Kili.
''I am sorry, again.'' he says, rolling his eyes.
''Well, lets get you something then.''
Eowyn stands up and takes Liana's hand in hers, leading her outside.
''Stomach pain?'' she asks while they walk,'' Liana, you've never had stomach pains and as far as I know you have not eaten yet, so that can not be it either.''
''My period is late, I've never been late in my life and the cramps did not feel like stomach pains and I have been having them for two days now ...''
''Are you with child?'' Eowyn asks.
''It could be.'' She answers softly.
''I can let one of the royal doctors look at you.''
''Eowyn, if I'm really pregnant, it's one week, which is much too early.'' Liana says.
''I heard them talking about a device, they can insert it in to you and look into your stomach ...?'' Eowyn said doubtfully.
''That sounds painful.''
''Yes, indeed. What does your heart say?''
Liana smiles and looks at her.
''You're with child!'' Eowyn exclaims excited.
''Quiet! No one can know.''
''And Kili?''
''No, it's much too early, I do not want to disappoint him.''
''I understand that,'' Eowyn lets her go and looks before her,'' was seven days ago not around the time that Zane ...?''
''Yes.''
''So it could also be his.''
''No,'' Liana says resolute and she looks at Eowyn,'' even if he can never now, in my mind Kili will always be the father of this child.''
''Okay, clear.'' Eowyn answers.
Liana and Eowyn walk to the door of the kitchen and sneak inside. It's not lunch time yet so it is practically deserted. They collect some different cheeses and breads and some meat, put it in a basket and then go quickly back to the wine cellar. Fili and Kili sit astride on a bench talking with each other when they come in again.
''Food.'' Eowyn says and she holds the basket up.
''I smell meat.'' Kili says.
Fili laughs and Eowyn sets the basket down on the bench between the brothers. When Eowyn and Liana remain standing they look up.
''You are not eating with us?''
The women look at each other and shrug their shoulders.
''It's not lunch time but I could eat.'' Liana says.
The Princes laugh and pull the women down, they sit between their legs and Fili holds up a bottle of wine.
''Wine anyone?'' He asks.
''No, I still have to work.''
''And I have a meeting in the throne room this afternoon.'' Eowyn says regretfully.
''More for us then.'' Kili says.
The lunch is wonderful and Liana forgets about her problems with Zane and what he does every night. Every so often Kili lets his hand gently circling on her back and every time she unconsciously leans into his touch. When she has enough she sighs and leans back against Kili. His arm instantly snakes around her waist to draw her closer against him
''It is a miracle, by the way, that no one has seen you when you were sneaking around in the castle.'' She says.
''All those years Fili and I have misled our guards finally paid off.'' Kili answers.
Fili laughs and places his chin on Eowyn's shoulder. Her arm goes up and disappears into his blond hair, Fili starts kissing her neck and Eowyn sigh softly. Kili rolls his eyes and throws a piece of bread towards them. It hits Fili on his cheek and he makes a small sound of protest in his throat.
''We have to go anyway.'' Eowyn .
''Really?'' Fili says and he looks at her with a pout.
''Yes, but I can come back tonight, when everyone is in bed.'' She suggests.
Fili's eyes light immediately.
''Okay, that has been agreed.'' She says.
''And you?'' Kili asks Liana.
''I will first have to go home to make dinner then he always goes to the tavern and usually comes home so drunk that he falls asleep immediately. I think I can spend a few hours with you tonight.'' She ponders.
''You're too nice.'' Kili laughs and pulls her to him to give her a kiss.
After the women have parted ways Eowyn walks to the throne room for the meeting and Liana walks to her own office. She's his One, his soul mate, his destiny and he hers. She sensed right when they had coupled, he was really made for her. She can not believe Kili really is here, so close. She would have preferred to stay with him the afternoon and lay in his safe arms but she has work to do.
Fortunately the afternoon goes faster than she had expected and just as she walks down the hall to the doors Eowyn stops her.
''What?'' Liana asks .
''I plan to bring them to my room.''she answers.
''What if you are seen?'' Liana asks worried.
''That will not happen, after dinner it is always deserted in the hall, we'll make it unseen.''
''Okay, I'll see you in your room.''
Liana does her regular round on the market and starts diner at home. Without realizing she has a big smile on her face. She recovers just in time before Zane sees it. During diner it is still, as always, but Liana notices that Zane keeps a sharp eye on her. She gets a little restless and when Zane clears his throat she looks at him.
''Why where you walking with a foodbasket to one of the wine cellars?''
''What?'' Liana asks and looks at him in surprise.
''I have it on good source you and Eowyn brought a basket full of food to the wine cellar. Who are you hiding there? Your lover?''
Liana does not know what to say and only looks at him.
''I told you that I see everything, I have eyes and ears everywhere. And according to my ears in the castle it was very enjoyable in that wine cellar.''Zane says and he stands up.
Zane walks around the table and pushes Liana from her chair. He pushes her up against the wall and before she can do anything he grabs her hair and pulls her head back, exposing her neck to him. Liana gasps for breath and feels his teeth biting into her neck and it is a wonder that he did not break her skin. Liana wants to scream but Zane puts his hand over her mouth and hits her head against the wall so hard her eyes water. He shoves her roughly through the kitchen and Liana has to grab the chair to stay upright. From the corner of her eye she sees Zane coming to her and she wants to run away but her feet refuse. Zane grabs her wrist and turns her around to press her with her face against the wall. When she feels something cold pressing against her neck she knows he has a knife. Liana panics and tries to wriggle out of his grip but he holds her tightly.
