When they got their things together they began their journey north. Ed and Al ran out of the train station fast, Renee dragging her feet behind them.

"I swear those train seats are the worst!" Renee complained.

"Look there's snow!" Ed yelled as they exited the station. Renee groaned. Ed slipped down the steps in his haste. They found somewhere to sit down for a while.

"All this snow is amazing, huh?" Al beamed.

"Ugh. I get enough of this at home." Renee mumbled.

"You don't like snow?" Ed asked.

"Not terribly fond of it. Though I do like the fact that their is an absolute zero as opposed to the endlessly increasing temperatures you can get in the heat. But as I said before I'm use to the extremes so... it's whatever." Renee stated. "And snow looks so beautiful under moonlight. Theres no way I could hate it." Renee spoke under her breath, though her comment didn't go unnoticed. They stood up and walked around, eventually looking for somewhere to eat on Al's recommendation.

The next day they were able to get a ride from somebody, it wasn't very far, but it was closer to their destination. The man made some mention of automail, but left.

"What was that all about?" Ed asked.

"Well metal does get cold very easily. Add in it being attached to your actual skin. Ed are you sure you are going to be okay?" Renee asked, grabbing his arm. She took off her scarf. "Here wrap this around where your automail ends, you should keep that place warm."

"What if you get cold Renee?" Alphonse asked.

"A slight cold is nothing compared to Ed getting frostbite!" Renee mentioned, trying to put the scarf on Ed.

"I'll be fine. Come on!" Ed stated, ignoring her protests, he began to walk but she stood stubbornly in the same place. "I'm not scared to leave you there."

"Just put it on please! I've been doing bad at my job so far and I want to turn that around! Just please!" Renee whined. She gave him a look that he had only seen once before. When she was pleading to help Ling and him with Envy when they were inside Gluttony. She wasn't trying to be stubborn or annoying, she just wanted to help and was scared of the consequences if something bad happened. Ed huffed, his breath creating a puff of air in front of him. He removed his jacket and shirt from his arm and allowed her to tie the scarf around him.

"Hurry up! This is even worse!" Ed hissed as the cold air hit his skin.

"There." Renee smiled. She helped him pull on his shirt and jacket. Alphonse looked down on the scene. He hated looking at that. He was jealous that Ed got that kind of attention from her. How close they were and how much they were touching.

"I'm sorry I didn't think of it earlier. Hopefully it will help some. But we can go now." Renee smiled at Ed, and he gave her a slight smile back. Al turned away and started walking ahead of them. They braved through the weather as it quickly picked up and a huge snowstorm swept in front of them, obscuring their view.

"Relax, we'll be fine!" Ed stated. "How are you doing Renee?"

"Fine. This is pretty familiar. I mean, I've been stuck in the snow with a friend and I've been stranded in the middle of nowhere with a friend. So put those together..." Renee murmured through the snow. Someone huge appeared behind them, who Ed and Al mistook for a bear at first. Ed transmuted his arm in the usual way, ready to attack. When they saw the automail arm and come crashing down they all jumped out of the way the best they could. The man shot a net at Alphonse and Renee, trapping them in it. Ed tried to talk to the man, but didn't use his time wisely before the man started attacking him again. While they were fighting, Renee used the spikes on Al to cut through the net. Al threw his helmet at Ed, who jammed the long hair piece in the man's automail. They could faintly see several other white clad soldiers appear, pointing their guns at the three of them.

"Buccaneer, Who are they?" A voice called down at them.
