Prompt: Brittle

Only those who have Seen for themselves know just how brittle the barrier between reality and fairie is. Most just walk through life never knowing that the creatures of fantasy and myth that shouldn't exist are in reality everywhere.

They say ignorance is bliss, but in the case of fairie, ignorance is safety. Mortals that Know and See always have to be cautious. They have to constantly be on guard least they reveal themselves to the creatures of fairie, for once they do, they are fair game for anything.

What happened to the mortal known as Sarah Williams was one of the more extreme examples. She meddled with forces that were best left alone and paid the price for it.

For the life of a mortal is a brittle thing indeed.
