Chapter 35: Get Up And Tell You Where To Go
10 Years Before
Have to get away. Have to move faster!
Those words raced through her mind as she physically raced through the forest in the Underground. Several yards behind her, but slowly catching up, was a strange creature. Now, she was used to strange creatures quickly after her first visit to the Underground. But this creature, she could tell... her gut was screaming at her, this was not a goblin or any other creature that belonged in the labyrinth or Goblin City.
If Kat hadn't gotten a close look at the creature when her first tried to attack her, for which she was thankful that she dodged, she would have suspected that she was being chased by a hellhound. But no, instead of fur, the black on the creatures body was actually a strange combination of scales and charred skin. Its large fangs were dripping blood as it ran, whether from the canine itself or its last victim, the brunette was too scared to find out.
So she ran, didn't matter that her sides were aching or her feet felt like they were on fire. She ran as fast as she could, turning as often as she could to try to get the creature off her tail. But the creature kept up.
Now she was truly regretting coming back to this place. She had promised all of the friends that she made that she would visit them. When she finally got the chance to, having found a way into the Underground by herself, she ends up encountering a deadly creature as she tries to locate them! As she ran, she realized that none of the creatures she encountered when she saved her brother were a real danger, even the Fireys.
She had to get away from this creature before it killed her!

"No, position your feet like so." Kat instructed to the man who's stance was a bit off.
As it was relatively early morning, Kat was instructing the young adults who didn't have work or school. She was honestly grateful that none of them were sexist pigs; she dealt with enough of those in New York. They all seemed to understand that she knew exactly what she was doing; though that might be because she kicked their prince's butt the other day in fencing.
"Much better." She told the man as he finally got the correct stance.
As she continued to instruct the man, she tried to ignore that bad feeling forming in the pit of her stomach. Something bad was going to happen soon. Something that would have a big impact on the town.

"Fuck!" Kat shouted when she realized she ended up in a dead end. If she wasn't in danger, she would have scoffed over how cliché that was, how typical it was that a female in peril would reach a dead end. Just in case, the teen turned her head upwards, looking to see if anything was climbable… no such luck sadly.
As it was, the creature tailing her was drawing near and she had no means of escape or attack. She was defenseless and cornered. Basically, she was screwed.
The teen tensed when she heard the beast growling behind her. Slowly, as to not startle the beast as, by the volume of the growl did not seem to be moving any closer than it already was, she turned to face it. It was ready to pounce any moment. One false move and Kat could end up as its dinner, though that seemed likely, as she had no means to escape.
With a terrifying roar, the beast leapt forwards, at Kat. As it neared, the teen couldn't help but wish silently for help, help that she was sure would not arrive. As she thought of that, there was a flash of light and her world turned black.

Cait was walking through the town square during the afternoon, bored out of her mind. There was nothing of interest going on, nothing to do. Kyle was in school, something she would never subject herself to again. The only thing of real interest that was going on was that Kyle's sister was teaching fencing. Even if that was interesting, that wasn't really Cait's thing.
Crash!
Surprised, the Cheshire whipped around to face the source of the sound. The clock tower's glass was now shattered, and lying on the ground below was a large older woman, blood slowly forming a puddle below her. Glancing at the broken glass once more, the assassin saw Charming and Snow staring down in horror at the sight below them as two swirls of purple formed and disappeared behind them.
Obviously something had happened, something that resulted in the death of the woman lying on the concrete. Even though she was clueless to what happened, the teen had a good feeling as to who was the cause. Cora must have caused the woman's demise.
They say that curiosity killed the cat, well… they most likely were not talking about someone from the Cheshire Clan. With a small grin, the teen disappeared, planning on spying on the former Queen of Hearts to find out what she was planning.
Looks like Cait would no longer be bored.

10 Years Before
Jareth stood in a chamber of his castle, a scowl on his face. He was quiet upset. Somehow, a hound from Reztec's kingdom had entered his land and attacked the girl who was currently lying unconscious on a bed in that chamber as his healers worked on all the cuts and bruises she received as she attempted to escape the hound. Reztec stated that it was an accident, though that was most unlikely, that creature was hunting her, not anyone else.
That was not the only reason the Goblin King was upset. This girl mad him quiet confused. Why would the hound be hunting her, she was not a citizen of his domain, or even someone of importance in Underground politics, so why did the hound hunt after her. And then… there was how she managed to escape and get help. The goblins seemed to know she was in danger, that she needed help, like she had wished for it. Now that he could chalk up to the fact that she was Sarah's daughter, her blood ran through the child's veins, the goblins would grant Sarah and those of her blood their wishes that were spoken out loud, it was something he could not undo after he had decided to make her his queen. The thing that bothered him about that though was that he didn't hear it. If it had been a wish spoken out loud, he would have heard it. So why did the goblins react as if they heard a wish, but Jareth did not hear it himself.
How she managed to escape was another thing that baffled the Fae. Upon inspecting the hound, he had noticed that it was seared by untamed magic, something that must have come from the unconscious girl judging by the state she was in. How had she used magic? She was a mortal girl, she was Sarah's daughter. She clearly was not a magic user of the Aboveground as she would not have been rendered unconscious if she was one, as they have to learn how to harness magic, this magic came from her, it was something she was born with. It should have been impossible.
With a frown, the blonde male conjured one of his crystal balls. Using his magic, the ball hovered over the teen, scanning her. Within minutes, the results of the scan were visible in the crystal, however, the Goblin King could not believe what the results were saying.
"Impossible." He muttered as he observed the results. The results were showing that Sarah was her mother, that much he knew already, but what could not have been were the results of who was the father. "She can't possibly be my child." There was no way that could be. The last time he was in close contact with Sarah, she was but a child herself. While it was true that he wanted her to be his queen he would never…
Yet, now that he thought of it, that was not the only thing that did not make sense. He was always vaguely aware of time in the Aboveground, so how did he not know that over twenty years had passed since Sarah ventured into his labyrinth. How was it that he was not aware of the fact that Sarah had died, when she had beaten him he knew he was still going to watch over her, had planned on it. Something was wrong, there was something very wrong with what he was learning in the past month compared to what his memories were stating.
With a scowl, he erased the results from the crystal and began to summon more of his magic. "Show me what I am missing."
Soon scenes from the past filled the crystal, each one shocking Jareth more than the last. This was the reason why he had no recollection of Sarah after she won, this was how Katrin was his daughter, his child. As the memories neared the end, Jareth watched as Sarah's beautiful face appeared in the crystal, tears in her eyes and a piercing glare that almost looked like it was aimed towards him and not his past self. She continued to glare as she began to speak, words that were the very last piece of the puzzle.
"I wish…"
Can't believe I almost forgot to add the A/N
Thank you, kykyxstandler, for the two reviews. I am glad you are enjoying this story so far. I'm glad you liked how Ruby and David got her the studio, I was worried it would seem random and unlikely.
I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter. Reviews, as always, are very appreciated.
