Derek's POV
No, No, No, I said over and over in my head. This could not be happening. Not again, not to her. Seriously wasn't the whole experience good enough the first time? So why did this have to happen again and to Chloe, who was already emotional enough with the baby and all. Why did her damn frustrating aunt have to be involved in this, and at a time like this?
Aunt Lauren just stared at us, clearly not surprised to see dad or me, but surprised to see Chloe as she tilted her head in a confusing manner and asked, "Chloe? What are you doing here?"
"That should be my question," Chloe expressed, clearly upset and distress about the whole thing. Although I wasn't completely sure I thought that it wasn't a good idea for her to so upset right now, especially since the stress and everything was most definitely not good for neither Chloe nor the baby. That is why I leaned in and whispered lowly in her hear, "Calm down. There aren't just you that you need to think about here."
Chloe froze in my arms, probably realizing what I was talking about, and then took a few calming breaths and thanked me before she more calm and collected went back to the conversation at hand, "Why are you here? Switched sides again or are you simply trying to play the same double game?"
Aunt Lauren, though she was not my aunt Simon, Tori and I called her that out of habit just shook her head, "You wouldn't understand. You were not even supposed to be here, but I guess it thanks to that werewolf boyfriend of yours."
"Don't blame this on him!" Chloe sneered. "He wasn't the one who decided to not only seal my memories away and made me forget all of this, but everyone else's including his. That's purely on you and Kit."
Aunt Lauren looked like someone had just punched her hard in the stomach. Apparently she didn't think that we would remember the past and how things lead to this moment. Probably assumed that we met once again out of pure coincidence, which we oddly enough did, and just fell for each other again. Nevertheless she shook her head in disbelief, "How is that possible? You weren't supposed to remember, none of you were supposed to remember."
I sighed heavily, "What are you going to do to us now, Lauren? Are you willing to give up your niece again for these people, especially when you know what they are going to do to her and what they have tried to do many times in the past? If you are then I suggest you think twice over what exactly you are putting on the line and what you risk losing."
Although I wasn't that confident that we had a good chance to escape considering the circumstances, but with Chloe and dad I just had to fight even harder for my hopes that we would get out of this. Scotch free or not.
Aunt Lauren reacted exactly like I predicated she would. She sneered at me and went back to ignoring me. At least she didn't change since the last time I saw her. Still hated my guts and believed I was dangerous to be around Chloe. And it didn't matter how much I had tried to prove different in the past because she would always see me as the werewolf that could instantly harm or kill her niece. So you could say during this last few years I didn't really miss Aunt Lauren that much and seeing her again only reminded me of why I didn't in the first place. And apparently the feeling was mutual from the older woman's side.
However before she had the time to give us the proper answer that jerk from before, the shaman who realized Chloe was pregnant, showed up and had the same smug expression on his face that I wanted nothing more to punch out.
"Good, you found them," Jerk-face said, standing next to Aunt Lauren who looked more or less grim about his presence. Apparently I wasn't the only one who couldn't stand the guy. "Please put them in a secure cell, especially for our werewolf, and then they are St. Clouds problem."
What? I thought terrified for not only for my sake, but also Chloe and the baby. There was no way she could be left alone with those people and from all the rumors I have heard about them I didn't want to figure out to what extent and purpose for their cruelty, especially towards Chloe and our child who happens to be a hybrid of a necromancer and a werewolf. That is why when one of the guards surrounding us approached Chloe and me, I simply reacted and grabbed him from his shirt collar and threw him across the room. After that let's just say I got everyone's attention real quickly, however that was what my intention was with that move.
"Run," I told Chloe just as another individual wanted to try and take me down. "Don't think about me or dad. We can handle ourselves, but they can't get to you and you know what. You promised me that you would run, well…now is the time to run. So here's what you do when I give you the signal you run out of here, out the building and use Liz's help if you have to, but just make sure you don't get caught, hurt or killed."
Chloe shook her head, trying to find something to argue with, but I wouldn't hear of it. I glared at her into submission and in the end she reluctantly nodded her head and waited for the next move. I gave her a small smile before I saw two bad guys coming from left. I quickly knocked them out of the way, giving Chloe the opportunity to slip through after I gave her the signal. She ran down the hall and turned the right corner, while being followed by a couple of guards that went after her, leaving dad and me to deal with the rest including Jerk-face and Aunt Lauren. We were clearly outnumbered and even with my strength I couldn't take out all these people on my own, which made me wish that Clay had focused more on teaching me how to fight against several opponents at once than the one-by-one manner, but nevertheless I didn't care what were to happen to me as long as they didn't get to Chloe and the baby. As long as they were safe nothing else mattered to me.

Thank you for the response I have been receiving, hope you guys like this chapter.
As I mentioned in my last AN this story would continue this year as well and I'm hoping to finish it soon. Maybe in the end of January or February, but I will not make any promises.
And due to school, job and everything else I will also continue updating this story every Monday (or Monday for me) unless there are circumstances that is preventing me from doing so. Otherwise I will update as soon as I'm able to.
I'm anxiously waiting for the release of Kelley Armstrong's latest book or first book of a book series, City of the Lost. I'm seriously hoping that it is as good as her other books and if it is I will be sure to recommend it to you afterwards.
Please, please, please continue giving me reviews, favorite and/or followings, and the next chapter will be out as soon its done.
