A/N: Before we go on with the story, I'd just like to say something regarding a comment I received on the last chapter. I don't hate Draco or hate on him for that matter. I think he's a rather interesting character and I will be writing him more into the story as the chapters go on. As for the few spats between him and Ron that have been quite intense, we mustn't forget that Draco was brought up to believe that muggles and muggle-borns were 'vile beings' and its hard to grow out of something you were taught to believe as a child. Anyway, apologies for the rant, on with the next chapter! :)

As the months went by, Rose became more and more engrossed in her school books and had almost read over every single one of them. Hermione joined Ron in their bedroom late one night, looking flustered and ready for a good night's sleep.

"What happened to you? Did you tell Hugo a story or perform one?", Ron smirked as Hermione bunched her wild hair into a bun before taking off her silk dressing gown and joining him in bed, sighing heavily.

"I only read one page to him and he was asleep. Rose wanted to ask some questions", Hermione told him as she got herself comfortable in bed.

"Questions? Question about what?", Ron asked.

"Divination", Hermione huffed. Ron couldn't help but chuckle. "You'd think after all these years I'd learn to get over those classes but they just make me so- argh!", she exclaimed dramatically, Ron still chuckling at her as she went on. "Rosie's just started reading Unfogging the Future", she rolled her eyes.

"Well, I'd say I would handle it, but honestly? Harry and I just use to make up our predictions! Although, Professor Trelawney did used to love what we came up with", Ron smiled deviously at her.

"As much as I cant stand Divination, lying, is not the answer", she raised her eyebrow at him. "I told her she should try talking to Ginny about it, or I said I'd maybe try and get in touch with Padma", she ended her sentence quietly.

"Padma? Padma Patil? How would she be able to help? I'm not even sure she liked Divination!", Ron told her.

"I know, but I'm guessing she might have some of Parvati's old notes. You know how much Parvati loved Divination", Hermione said sadly.

"Yeah. I guess you're right", Ron sighed as he put his arm around his wife and pulled her into his chest.

"Rose is going to find out so much more about the battle when she leaves", Hermione sighed as she listened contently to Ron's heartbeat.

"I know. But maybe its a good thing. She'll have proper questions to ask and we'll have time to figure out how to answer them. We knew it would happen eventually, love", he told her.

"I know. I just wish it didn't have to come at all", she sighed once more. Ron kissed the top of her head delicately, caressing her hair as the couple slowly fell asleep in each others arms.

...

The time for Rose to go to Hogwarts was nearing and she had begun to pack her belongings in excitement.

"Rosie", Ron chuckled as he entered her room. She was sitting on top of a large brown leather suitcase, attempting to close it by jumping up and down. "You've got another two weeks yet, princess. Packing could have waited", he told her as he helped her with her suitcase.

"I just want to be ready", she smiled brightly at him.

"I know, sweetheart. Your mother and I could have helped, you know?", he told her as he took a seat on her bed.

"I know, but I wanted to be able to do it on my own", she smiled proudly as she joined him on the bed. Ron sighed as he ran his fingers through his daughter's hair, looking deep into her crystal blue eyes.

"I'm going to miss you so much, Rosie Posie", he smiled softly at her, placing the palm of his hand against her cheek, softly massaging it with his thumb.

"I'm going to miss you too, dad. But I'll be home for summer and Christmas!", she grinned brightly at him. Ron couldn't help but give her a watery smile. He was so unbelievably proud of her and the person she was becoming, and he had every faith that she would be okay.

"Your mother and I are so proud of you", he told her before pulling her in for a cuddle. Ron had no idea that behind the door listening, was a teary eyed Hermione who had heard their entire conversation. Hermione didn't think it was possible to love her family more than the huge amount she already did, but it was moments like this that proved her wrong. She quietly knocked on the door before peeking her head around the corner.

"Dinner's almost ready you two", she smiled softly. Rose grinned at her mother before getting up off of the bed and running past her and down stairs. Ron stayed on the bed, staring proudly into space as Hermione joined his side, placing her hand on top of his. "You're such an amazing father, Ronald", she smiled softly at him.

"Its easy, really. When we have such amazing children", he smiled back at her before kissing her delicately on the lips.

"She's going to be absolutely fine when she goes. You believe that, don't you?", she asked him, looking deep into his eyes.

"I do. But its just hard not to worry", Ron sighed.

"I know. I remember Ginny when James first left for Hogwarts", she told him. "But its like Rose said- she'll be back before we know it", Hermione smiled softly at him as she began to caress his jawline.

"And she better be in one piece!", he joked. The pair chuckled together before sharing a delicate, yet, passionate kiss and joining their children down stairs for dinner.

"Mmm. I'm going to miss your cooking so much, mum", Rose spoke as she swallowed a mouth full of food.

"I doubt that very much", Ron smirked. Hermione slapped him playfully on the arm. "What? Have you forgotten about the bloody fantastic food we used to have in Hogwarts?", Ron raised his eyebrow at her.

"Fair enough", she smirked. Once the family had enjoyed their meal, Hermione looked up from her empty plate to notice that Hugo had hardly touched his food and was just moving his carrots around his plate with his fork. "Hugo? Are you alright, sweetheart?", she asked. Hugo nodded slowly.

"Are you sure, pal?", Ron intervened.

"I'm just not hungry", Hugo said quietly. Ron and Hermione gave each other a worried glance before turning back to look at their son.

"Alright, love", Hermione spoke. Hugo jumped down off of his chair and dragged his feet slowly upstairs. Ron, Hermione and Rose all shared a look of worry before Rose left the table to check on her brother.

"Hugo?", she said as she slowly opened his bedroom door. Hugo was curled up in a ball on his bed, holding a book close to his chest with a sad expression on his face. Rose walked into the room, shutting the door behind her and sitting beside him on the bed. "What's wrong?", she asked. At that moment, a single tear left Hugo's eye as he sat up and sniffed.

"I don't want you to go", he told her sadly. Rose sighed sadly before shuffling up to her little brother's side and putting her arm around his shoulders.

"Hugo, you'll be with me soon. It'll fly by, trust me", she told him, rubbing his shoulder lovingly.

"But- but it'll be so boring without you", he told her as he wiped his nose on the sleeve of his jumper.

"No it wont! Lily will be around, and Louis", she smiled softly at him, trying her hardest to reassure him.

"But, I cant talk to them like I can talk to you", he said sadly. "Promise you'll write lots? Like- special letters. Just for me?", he asked her with a hopeful look on his face.

"I promise", Rose smiled at her younger brother before pulling him in for a cuddle. The book he had been holding closely to his chest was in fact the copy of Quidditch: Through the Ages that Rose had given him for his birthday. The siblings stayed like that for a moment before returning downstairs to reassure their parents that Hugo was okay. Two weeks flew by and the family soon found themselves at Platform 9 and 3-quarters, preparing for Rose's departure. On catching a glimpse of the Malfoy family, Ron had already told Rose that she was to make sure she beat him in every single test, before Hermione grilled him for making such a comment. After being joined by Harry, Ginny and Lily who were preparing for Albus and James' departures, Ron began to fuss over Rose.

"And you're sure you've got everything you need?", he asked her.

"Yes, dad", she chuckled.

"Toothbrush? School books? Sapphire? Wand? Enough clean underwear?", he went on.

"Dad!", Rose raised her voice as she blushed a bright shade of red.

"I'm sure if she's forgotten anything we can send it to her, Ronald", Hermione smiled softly as she gently caressed Ron's shoulder. Ron sighed before pulling his daughter into his chest for a tight embrace.

"You write to us if anything ever goes wrong. Okay?", he told her, not really wanting to let her go.

"Okay", she said softly. Ron let go of his daughter so that she could say goodbye to her younger brother and get one last hug from Hermione before joining Albus and James and getting on the Hogwarts Express. Ron, Hermione, Harry, Ginny and the children stood outside of the train compartment that Rose, Albus and James had chosen to sit in. Ron looked deep into the depths of his daughter's eyes. A single tear leaving his eye as he mouthed the words 'I love you, princess'. Rose mouthed back 'I love you, daddy', as, she too, became teary eyed. Hermione blew a kiss to her, becoming emotional herself as she took Ron's hand tightly within her own when the train began to move. Ron had his arm around Hugo protectively as they watched the Hogwarts Express leave the station.

"Stay safe", said Ron under his breath as the train disappeared out of sight. He suddenly felt the grip Hermione had on his hand tighten. As he turned his head to look at his wife, he saw that streams of tears had begun to leave her eyes. Ron pulled her head into his shoulder as he kissed her head delicately.

"Mum? Dad?", Hugo spoke. Ron and Hermione look down at their young son, each of them trying to hold back their sadness of Rose's departure. "She's going to be okay", Hugo smiled. "She's a Weasley".

Ron smiled proudly at his son as he ruffled his hair. Hermione pulled him into her for a cuddle before the family joined the Potters and left the station.

A/N: Now that Rose has gone to Hogwarts I will be splitting the story in two sometimes, as in, Ron and Hermione at home with Hugo and Rose at Hogwarts. But dont panic! There'll still be shed loads of Romione! :)
