Lelouch of the Shinigami Path Chapter 37: End Fight and Aftermath, a Bleach + Code Geass Crossover fanfic

End Fight and Aftermath

Xingke had just defeated Kewell and Kewell fell on the ground and was severely injured.

"Damn it," Kewell cursed.

Xingke felt something and he didn't like what he sensed.

"The feel of the reiatsus," Xingke said, "I don't like the feel of them…Lelouch is over in that direction."

Kewell yells and gets up which surprises Xingke.

"What, you're still able to get up?" Xingke asked surprised.

"I will not be done in by someone like you!" Kewell ranted, "I will not be defeated by a mere Shinigami!" Kewell swung his Zanpakuto, "I have no choice but to use it."

Kewell was about move and before Kewell could say anything, he was suddenly ambushed and struck in the back. Kewell looked and was surprised to see Sojun and when Kewell tried to counter, Sojun swooped in and cut off Kewell's left arm. Kewell screamed in pain having his left arm cut off and then Xingke used the opportunity to create a cutting whirlwind from his Zanpakuto and directed towards Kewell and Kewell was hit and cut up even further. Kewell brought himself out of the whirlwind but then he was cut down by both Xingke and Sojun and he fell on the ground again hard.

"Lieutenant," Xingke said.

"I would have thought that you would have caught up with us by now," Sojun said and then looked at Kewell, "I guess he kept you busy."

"Yes, thank you Lieutenant. So what is the situation so far? Do you know?"

"Almost all of the Hollows have been eliminated. All is left are the Arrancars," Sojun said, "There is one Arrancar that fighting against the Captain-Commander."

"The Arrancar called Arturo Plateado…"

"So you know."

"Yes," Xingke said and looked over to Kewell, "he was the one that told me."

"I see…"

Kewell suddenly got up taking his severed arm with him and retreated. Sojun and Xingke were surprised that Kewell still had the strength to move and they decided to go after him. Meanwhile, Naoto was looking down at Luciano and then he was surprised to see Luciano move and was actually getting up.

"I'm surprised that you can still move," Naoto commented, "you really are a tough bastard."

"There's no way I would die, not from that weak attack," Luciano replied, "I will not be killed by a half-breed again!" Luciano raised his Zanpakuto in the air, "I have no choice but to use it. It's disgraceful that I have to unleash my true power against someone like you!"

"Ah damn it!" Naoto said.

Naoto was about to stop Luciano but Luciano grinned.

"Too late!" Luciano said, "Brutal—"

There was a sudden loud sound and it distracted both Luciano and Naoto and then Luciano was hit by a strong high-pitched red energy blast. Naoto was surprised and then he looked over and sees Kisuke.

"Kisuke!" Naoto said.

"Hi Naoto," Kisuke greeted as he walk holding his Benihime, "looks I made in time."

Naoto went over to Kisuke.

"Almost all of the Hollows have been eliminated," Kisuke informed, "the only ones left are the Arrancars," Kisuke looked over to Luciano who was bleeding all over and severely injured, "like him."

"Okay," Naoto said and then looks over to Luciano, "it's time we finished this."

"Indeed," Kisuke said.

"Why you…" Luciano said.

Luciano glared at both Kisuke and Naoto and then suddenly Luciano was surrounded by other members of the 2nd Division and Luciano was shocked.

"Sorry Mr. Arrancar," Kisuke said, "but you won't be getting away."

"Damn it all," Luciano said, "I'm not supposed to lose."

Meanwhile, Yamamoto and Arturo were facing each other. Yamamoto used Shunpo and reappeared near Lelouch, Seiji, and Kusanagi. Arturo was surprised and Yamamoto kneeled to look at Kusanagi who had just died from the fatal wounds he suffered at the hands of Arturo.

"Captain Kusanagi," Lelouch said with sadness.

"You said you were sorry Tetsuaki," Yamamoto commented, "but it is I who is sorry. You have fought well with bravery as I would expect from a Captain…rest in peace Tetsuaki."

"Captain-Commander," Seiji said and then he looked at Lelouch, "Lelouch…"

Lelouch looked over to Seiji.

"Captain Takemitsu," Lelouch said.

"It's good to see that you're still in one piece," Seiji said.

"Seiji, this young man…is he….?" Yamamoto asked.

"Yes, this is Lelouch Kenjima," Seiji said.

"I see," Yamamoto looked over to Lelouch, "Lelouch Kenjima…"

"Captain-Commander," Lelouch said with a respectful bow.

"Kenjima, move away from here," Yamamoto said and he looked at the dead Kusanagi, "and take Captain Kusanagi with you. Can you do that?"

"Yes sir, I can," Lelouch replied.

"Good," Yamamoto looked over to Seiji, "Seiji, move away from here as well…you can't do much with the severe injuries you've suffered."

"Understood sir," Seiji replied and then he looked at Kusanagi.

Lelouch and Seiji proceeded to move away and Lelouch took the dead Captain Kusanagi carefully and to get him away. Arturo suddenly fires a Cero at them and Yamamoto blocked the Cero and moved it away from them.

"Leave now!" Yamamoto ordered, "Quickly!"

"R-Right," Lelouch said.

Lelouch and Seiji continued and left taking Kusanagi with them to move as far away as they could.

"Hmph, it won't make a difference Genryusai," Arturo said, "one of your Captains is already dead and that other Captain will die by my hands and there's nothing that can be done to prevent that."

Yamamoto just glared at Arturo and created flames circled around him and Arturo.

"Let's go Arturo Plateado!" Yamamoto said, "Do not expect to leave here alive! This foolish plot of yours ends!"

"Hah, we'll see won't we?" Arturo replied, "Once you're dead, there'll be no one who will be able to stand against me!" Arturo charged towards Yamamoto, "Now die, Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto!"

A strong and powerful clash occurred and a huge flame erupted in the air. Elsewhere within the Seireitei, Euphie, Shirley, and Clovis were heading to a direction and were leading other division members as well. Chikane was directing members of the 3rd Division and elsewhere, Kusakabe cut off a Hollow's direction and killed the Hollow.

"That's the last of them," Kusakabe said and then he turned around, "now perhaps I can assist the Captain-Commander."

Meanwhile, Lelouch and Seiji got to a safe distance and looked on seeing the fight between Arturo and Yamamoto.

"Okay, let's stop here for a bit," Seiji said.

"Okay…" Lelouch said.

Lelouch looked at Kusanagi and recalled the first time he met him back in Raku'uta and when he was with him and Euphie when Rie was killed by the Hollow sent by VV and Luciano and when he saw him again during his time in the Shin'o Academy and the times he would meet and greet him and have various conversations with him when he was in the 6th Division and during his small breaks for the first three years in the 2nd Division. Lelouch clenched his teeth and his eyes were filled with hate toward Arturo. Meanwhile Yamamoto and Arturo were fighting against each other and they panted as he moved away from each other. Both Arturo and Yamamoto were bleeding from their foreheads but neither of them wavered. Arturo looked over to see the injured VV and he gave VV a glare as he was not happy to learn that he was beaten by Lelouch and he cursed VV and called him weak and VV looked away embarrassed and ashamed.

"It's time to end this," Yamamoto declared.

"Yes, it is time to end this," Arturo said with a grin looking at Yamamoto, "it's time I ended you. It's been fun and all but it's time I ended this dance."

"You believe yourself to be unbeatable but you will see that you're not invincible."

Arturo scoffed, "You don't what you're saying."

Arturo used Sonido and reappeared behind Yamamoto swing his Zanpakuto but Yamamoto blocked the attack with his flame-lit Ryujin Jakka and countered pushing Arturo back. Arturo was a bit surprised and then as he was ready to proceed to his next attack, there were four crashes that occurred near him and it surprised both Arturo and Yamamoto. The smokes cleared and revealed to be Luciano, Kewell, Marika, and Lilianna and all of them were severely injured with Kewell still holding his severed arm. Arturo seeing the state of his followers and VV was surprised also seeing the shape they were in.

"What's this?" Arturo asked annoyed, "What the hell happened to all of you?"

"Please forgive us Master Arturo," Lilianna pleaded, "we were defeated and then outnumbered."

"Sorry Master Arturo," Kewell said, "We were beaten."

"I'm embarrassed to say the same happened to me as well," Luciano said.

"Just like Vincent," Arturo said glaring at VV.

VV looked away with shame, "Please forgive me."

Luciano, Kewell, Lilianna, and Marika looked over and saw that VV was injured as well and they were surprised.

"Wait a minute VV," Luciano said, "don't tell me you got beat as well."

"It was all luck!" VV said defensively, "Lelouch got me with his sneak attacks."

"You got beaten by Lelouch?" Kewell said in shock, "How the hell you get beaten by him? Aren't you ashamed of yourself?"

"I don't want hear that from you Kewell!" VV countered back angrily.

"You incompetent fools," Arturo said angrily, "and you have the nerve to come here looking pathetic and pitiful."

The five Arrancars flinched and looked at Arturo and they were nervous when Arturo was glaring at them.

"We know it's shameful for us and we're a disgrace," Marika said.

Yamamoto looked at the five other Arrancars and then he looked back to Arturo.

"Arturo Plateado, it seems you plan has failed. All the Hollows you've brought with you are no more and all of your followers with you are beaten," Yamamoto commented.

"Hmph, so what?" Arturo retorted, "I can still kill you. There's no one who can match my power!"

Arturo unleashed his reiatsu and it was enormous and intense. Everyone else was holding on while Yamamoto just stood and Arturo laughed. Yamamoto in turn created a pillar of fire surrounding Arturo and Arturo looked around and laughs.

"This won't help you Yamamoto!" Arturo said.

Arturo swatted the flames around him and he was surprised that he didn't see Yamamoto and he looked. Arturo wondered where he was in all the flames and then he was suddenly stabbed in the back right below his Hollow hole. Arturo was shocked and flames dissipated behind him and revealed Yamamoto who stabbed him with his flame lit Ryujin Jakka. Arturo fell back and he looked at the stab wound that Yamamoto inflicted on him.

"What?" Arturo spoke.

"Taimatsu!" Yamamoto said as he swung his Zanpakuto.

The Captain-Commander created a great inferno and it struck Arturo and the Arrancar was unable to avoid it or get out of it and he was consumed by the great inferno and screamed in pain. Lelouch was amazed seeing the power of the leader of the Gotei 13 while VV, Luciano, Marika, Kewell, and Lilianna looked on horrified seeing their leader being burned. Arturo continued to scream in agony. Yamamoto raised the intensity of his Taimatsu technique and Arturo screamed even more and then the five other Arrancars decided to try sneak up and ambushed Yamamoto and they formed their Cero to shoot Yamamoto point blank. Lelouch saw this and was about to step in and stop them but Yamamoto easily saw through their tactics and he engulfed the five Arrancars with his intense flames and they screamed in agony as well. Arturo mustered his strength to fire his own Cero to get himself out of the Taimatsu and did the same for his followers. The five Arrancars fell on the ground and they were not able to move and Arturo panted and fell on his knees barely keeping himself up. Lelouch looked on and was disappointed that were still alive.

"Damn," Lelouch said, "it looked like the Captain-Commander had them."

"It's amazing that Arturo Plateado could still live after taking the Captain-Commander's Taimatsu," Seiji said.

"Taimatsu?"

"Yes, that was one of the abilities of the Captain-Commander's Zanpakuto, Ryujin Jakka. He can generate a flame attack and consume who or what he targets and he can control it with great precision. Normally, anything that gets consumed by that attack gets reduced to nothing…and yet that damn Arrancar is still whole."

Arturo clenched his teeth and glared at Yamamoto.

"It's surprising that you haven't been reduced to ashes," Yamamoto said.

Arturo struggle to stand up, "You think you can kill me? I told you…you can't kill me…not matter what you do!"

"I'm sure that I can," Yamamoto countered, "if I keep it up, you will die for sure."

"Damn it," Arturo cursed in his head, "how can this be? I'm supposed to be able to kill him and yet he is still bringing me down like this…at this rate, I really will die…I feel drained…"

"As I told you before," Yamamoto said, "things are not the same as it was eight and a half centuries ago," Yamamoto readied his Ryujin Jakka again, "you should have never set foot here in the Soul Society. Now die!"

Energy blades were suddenly thrown and hit the ground near Yamamoto and Yamamoto was confused and Lelouch was shocked as he knew what was going to happen.

"Captain-Commander, get away from them!" Lelouch yelled.

Luciano snapped his fingers and there was a huge explosion. Yamamoto was able to avoid the explosion but saw that the Arrancars were retreating. Yamamoto went after them and then other Shinigami of Captain and Lieutenant Class went after them as well. They got to a spot and the Shinigami led by Yamamoto were closing in on them and then suddenly, six square beams shot from the sky and engulfed all six Arrancars and this caused the members of the Gotei 13 to stop in their tracks.

"Is that…?" Yoruichi asked.

"Yep, it's Negacion," Kyoraku said.

"Negacion?" Naoto asked.

"That's right," Ginrei said.

Ginrei along with Ukitake, Yamamoto, and Kyoraku explained what was a Negacion and function of it. They looked on as the Negacion was picking up Arturo and his followers up in the air and Kumon was opening and Gillians appeared as they were being picked up. Lelouch caught up and saw what was happening and then Euphie, Naoto, Xingke, Shirley, and Clovis arrived and saw what was happening as well.

"This is indeed unfortunate," Arturo said, "you win this time Genryusai Yamamoto. Relish the little victory you have," Arturo pointed at Genryusai, "because the next time we meet, I will be stronger and then, you won't be able to get me with your tricks. I will kill you next time."

VV looked and glared at Lelouch and Lelouch glared back.

"Lelouch, enjoy the time of living you have now," VV said, "but know this, when we meet again, you won't be so lucky."

"The same goes for you as well Naoto Kozuki!" Luciano said pointing at Naoto, "we'll finish this another time and I'll enjoy taking what you value the most…your life!"

Kewell held his severed arm and swore revenge on Xingke while Marika and Lilianna glared at Euphie, Clovis, and Shirley while clenching their teethes and they felt humiliated that they were beaten by them. They passed through the Kumon and it closed and they disappeared from sight. Yamamoto frowned as he was upset at the fact the five Arrancars that led the Hollow Invasion in the Seireitei managed to escape and he swore that that should he confront Arturo Plateado again, that he would succeed in killing him. Aizen was looking over and he had witnessed the five Arrancars that had escaped.

"I'm impressed," Aizen thought, "I can certainly use them when the time comes…if they're still alive by then."

Shinji gave a suspicious glance to his lieutenant and he figured that Aizen was up to know good but he didn't know what it was. Later on, the Captains gathered and they looked at the Kusanagi who was dead and they mourned his death.

"It hurts to lose you Tetsuaki," Kyoraku said, "it hurts to lose our junior."

"Yes…rest in peace Tetsuaki," Ukitake said.

Yamamoto looked over to Kusanagi as well and had his head down.

"You did well Tetsuaki," Yamamoto said.

Lelouch looked over and felt ashamed that he was not able to do anything for Kusanagi and he looked up in the sky and reminded himself again of when he met Kusanagi.

Hueco Mundo

In the Menos Forest, Arturo and his followers had just arrived and they were upset at the result of what happened in the Soul Society. They still suffered the injuries at the hands of Shinigami that had defeated them and still feeling the stinging pain of Yamamoto's attacks and felt lucky they were still alive.

"Next time," Arturo said.

"Master Arturo," Kewell spoke.

Arturo turned and gave death glares and they were taken back by the glare he was giving them.

"You five lost to weak Shinigami," Arturo said, "I made you five what you are and you show your thanks by being beaten," Arturo looked at Kewell, "and the fact that you Kewell had your arm cut off."

"It wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for Li Xingke's cowardly tactics and then some other Shinigami showed up and I—"

"Excuses!" Arturo interjected.

Arturo punched Kewell hard in the face and Kewell hit the ground twitching from Arturo's punch.

"Kewell!" Marika said horrified.

Lilianna was shaking and was scared while Luciano and VV stepped back and hoped that Arturo wouldn't direct his anger at them as well.

"How dare you give excuses for your shortcomings!" Arturo said to Kewell, "You lost because you're weak!"

Arturo started kicking Kewell repeatedly in the stomach while ranting how Kewell and the others were so pathetic to lose to Shinigami with the ranks that Lelouch and the others had.

"Now, now, there's no need to get so worked up," A voice said.

They were surprised to hear the voice and they looked around and saw the source of the voice and they saw two people who wore cloaks with hoods over their heads.

"What's this?" Arturo asked annoyed, "Who the hell are you two?"

Under their hoods, the two figures smiled.

Reformed Human World

Charles and Marianne looked at Suzaku, Nunnally, and Suzaku's parents.

"I don't know how many times we need to say this," Marianne said, "There's nothing that can be done. The world has changed and it's impossible to revert it back to the way it was before."

"The world has changed for the better," Charles said, "it's time you all accept it. Nunnally, isn't this the peace that you always wanted. The peace that you and Euphie have always desired, a kind and gentle world. Your mother and I cannot understand why you're against what you have always desired for so long."

"What this is," Nunnally said, "you're forcing it on us, on the world. You're just forcing your good intentions on others. That's not how I wanted…I'm sure that Euphie would agree with me."

"Are you sure about that?" Marianne asked.

"I'm positive."

"Well even if you are right, there's nothing to be done about it," Marianne said, "so just accept it already. The sooner you do that, the better," Marianne looked at all the dead souls, "that goes for the rest of you. This is how the world is forever now deal with it."

Nunnally clenched her fist and thought about Lelouch and wished he was by her side again and wanted to say so much to apologize to him and she also wished she was with Lelouch in the Soul Society as it would mean being with him and not having live in the world she was in now.

Unknown Realm

Kajiro looked on and sighed as he was glad the fight was over and all the people that he personally sent to the Soul Society that became Shinigami were able to win their battles.

"They're all stronger," Kajiro said and then he smiled, "I'm sure they'll get stronger…stronger for the sake of my ambition," Kajiro then frowned, "still though…"

Seireitei, Soul Society

Officers of the Gotei 13 immediately got to work in rebuilding and higher ranked officers were directing lower ranked officers to in whatever needed to be done. In the 4th Division's Medical Facility, officers and nurses were treated the wounded from the battle and Euphie was also taking part in treating the wounded and healing wounds. Unohana was overseeing the treatments of all of the patients in the facility. As Euphie was treating another division officer, Euphie was saddened to learn that Kusanagi had died and she was also worried the state of mind Lelouch was in since he was with him in his final moments. In a hall, there lines of dead Shinigami who lost their lives against the Hollows and Arrancars and Yoshida and Inoue looked over and they were upset.

"This is horrible," Inoue said.

"Yeah," Yoshida said, "damn…and to think that Captain Kusanagi is among the casualties as well."

"It's truly unfortunate for the members of the 10th Division…especially for Takeshi."

"Yeah…"

In the 10th Division Barracks, members of the 10th Division were upset at the fact that their captain had lost his life fighting against Arturo and Nagata clenched his fist and felt ashamed.

"Why?" Nagata asked himself, "I couldn't be there to help my captain…I should have…" Nagata hit his fist on the wall, "damn it."

Back in the Medical Facility, Shirley, Urabe, Asahina, Senba, and Chikane were with Seiji who was being treated for his severe injuries.

"Captain Takemitsu," Senba said.

"Captain…" Urabe said.

"Grandfather," Shirley said upset.

"I'll be fine," Seiji assured, "don't worry about me. You need to leave help with things. Go on, that's an order."

They looked at each other and then they nodded as they agreed with what he said. They promised to check on him and assured that would inform the rest of the 3rd Division. Shirley, Urabe, Senba, and Asahina left and Chikane was ready to go with them.

"Chikane," Seiji spoke.

"Hmm?" Chikane looked over to her captain, "What is it?"

"There's something I need to tell you," Seiji said.

Chikane signaled the other to go ahead and assured that she would catch up with them. When they left, Chikane went and sat near Seiji.

"Give it to me straight Seiji," Chikane said, "how bad is it?"

"It's worse than I thought," Seiji said with a frown, "Arturo Plateado did more than just severely injure me and according to what Captain Unohana told me as she was treating me…there's nothing that can be done to stop it. At this rate, I won't be able to continue being a Captain."

Chikane frowned as it was upsetting to her to what she was hearing.

"Chikane, I think you know someone that can take my place when the time comes," Seiji continued, "Rojuro Otoribashi…that's the person you know."

Chikane nodded, "Yes…"

Meanwhile Lelouch was standing on one of the roofs with a downcast expression.

Flashback: 32 years ago, District 8 of East Rukongai, Raku'uta

Lelouch ran and caught of the group of Shinigami who were led by Kusanagi.

"Wait!" Lelouch called out.

The members of the 10th Division stopped and saw Lelouch and Kusanagi walked a bit to Lelouch's direction.

"What is it?" Kusanagi asked.

"I want to know your name, the name of the Shinigami Captain that just helped my sister," Lelouch said, "you're a captain and the back of your coat reads 10. I take it that you all are of the 10th Division."

Kusanagi smiled, "I'm the Captain of the 10th Division of the Gotei 13. My name is Tetsuaki Kusanagi."

"I see, well my name is Lelouch and again, thank for what you did for my sister."

"You're welcome, Lelouch right?"

"That's right. You seem to know Rie as well."

Kusanagi smiled, "Yes, we go way back but anyway so tell me Lelouch, did you simply wanted to know my name?"

"No, I also have questions about Shinigami and the duties they perform."

"Oh, are you interested in becoming one? I did feel you and your sister have a decent amount of spirit energy."

Lelouch raised his eyebrows, "Our spirit energies?"

"Yes, those with enough spirit energy can become a Shinigami."

Lelouch was surprised, "Are you saying that even I could become a Shinigami?"

"That's right."

Flashback End

"Captain Kusanagi…" Lelouch said with sadness.

Lelouch thought about how he saw Kusanagi being fatally stabbed by Arturo and when he was on the ground breathing his last breath and he was reminded of when Rie died protecting him and Euphie and Lelouch was shaking in anger and sadness.

"Lelouch," A voice called.

Lelouch flinched a bit and turned around and saw that it was Naoto.

"Oh Naoto," Lelouch said.

Naoto walked up and stood next to Lelouch.

"It's unfortunate about Captain Kusanagi," Naoto said, "back when we were in the academy, I heard from Euphie that he helped you two out a bit."

"Yeah, he saved us from that Hollow," Lelouch said, "just as Rie did. I can't believe he's gone."

Lelouch had his head down in sadness and Naoto placed a hand on Lelouch's shoulder which made Lelouch look at him and he nodded.

"I know, we have work to do," Lelouch said, "we don't have the luxury to stay depressed."

Naoto was silent and then he and Lelouch left to go do what they needed to do.

District 9, North Rukongai

A young woman was sitting by the bark of a tree within a forest and she wore a turquoise robe with red flower patterns and wore a yellow sash that was tied into a ribbon on the back and her hair had was long straight that reach her shoulder. It was Kallen Kozuki and she looked up in the sky.

"Something terrible had occurred," Kallen said and then she sighed and had a sad expression, "I've been here for a month and before that…"

Flashback: Somewhere in Japan

Kallen was on the ground and simply looked up in the sky and was bleeding from a puncture wound while her attacker was on the ground dead.

"The world is done for…" Kallen said, "I'm sorry Lelouch…I failed you again."

Kallen let a single tear form and stream from her eye and she saw someone approaching her and it was someone a woman with long bright red hair with a flower on the side of her hair.

"Huh, who are you?" Kallen asked weakly.

"So it's you…" The mystery woman said, "the daughter…"

"What…?" Kallen said feeling weak.

The woman looked up in the sky and then looked over to her side.

"Shiyo," The woman called.

Someone approached and it was a young woman with long brown hair and wore a yellow ribbon and kimono.

"Yes Lady Konoka," The young woman named Shiyo responded.

"Do it," The woman named Konoka said.

"Yes," Shiyo said and then she was performing a sort incantation.

A glyph formed around Kallen and Kallen looked around and wondered what was going on.

"What's happening, what are you doing?" Kallen asked.

"This world will change and you'll ending up being trapped here unless we take you somewhere away quickly," Shiyo said.

"But where are you taking me?" Kallen asked.

"For now, to the Wandering Spirit World and from there, you'll be going to the Soul Society."

"The…Soul Society?" Kallen responded confused.

"Yes," Konoka said, "unfortunately you won't be long until you die but at the very least, you won't be trapped in this world that will change."

"But why are you doing this?"

"Someone ask us to."

"W-Who, who was it?"

Kallen didn't get to hear anything else as she was surrounded by a bright light as she was dying.

Flashback End

"There was no passage of time when I was in that place called the Wandering Spirit World," Kallen said and then she sighed, "still, why bring me here in the Soul Society and who was it that asked those women Konoka and Shiyo to bring me here?
