A/N well another new chapter so that means it's time for another top five list. This time it's my favorite region, Sinnoh.
And if your a reader who's read my Pokemon Platinum story then you'll probably know what at least 3 of them are.
5. Staraptor- this is possibly my favorite of the "bird" pokemon. That thing of hair that Staraptor has looks like a scythe, it looks bad ass, and it's the only flying type that is able to learn close combat (to be triple sure I checked)
4. Luxray- Luxray is one of my favorites because there aren't many electric types like him. A lot of the electric types are the small cute ones, Pikachu, Emolga, Plusle, just to name a few. But Luxray's a lion! Literally. So that's why he's on this list.
3. Dialga- I've always loved people or things that could manipulate time. Mostly because I wish I could do that. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life and I'd love to go correct them. Plus Dialga is the only dragon type that isn't weak to either dragon or fairy I'm pretty sure.
2. Darkrai- Darkrai makes this list because I loved him in Rise of Darkrai, mostly because he reminds me of The Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Everyone thought he was evil because of what he looked like, when in reality he was trying to save everyone. And don't even get me started on his signature move dark void.
1. Torterra- Torterra is my favorite grass type and my second favorite starter overall. His unique typing and his moves are good. And I really don't know why but I love his design. A turtle with an island on its back reminds the of the Lion Turtle from Last Airbender.
Well here you go. My favorite Sinnoh pokemon. Tune in next time for my favorite Unova starters.
Now onto the story.
"Alright guys and girls let's give a warm round of applause for the first match of the tournament!" Scott said.
Scott had already introduced May and her opponent David and both of them now had a pokeball in their hand.
"Now just to remind you both, this is a two on two match. Either of you can substitute your pokemon. You two understand?" Scott asked.
"Yep." May said.
"Let's do this!" David said.
"Alright then. Send out your first pokemon." Scott said.
"Zangoose I need you!" David said.
Out of the pokeball was a tough looking pokemon. It had white fur with red scars that ran down its entire body. It glared at May with a serious look.
"A normal type huh? Well let's see how you do against my Combusken!" May said.
I released my starter who did a few practice kicks said "Combusken."
"So she's sticking with a type advantage huh. Seems to me like she's using her head for once." Alex said while watching the battle.
"It's only normal that May would send out a Pokemon that could win her the battle. Seems like a good call if you ask me." Brandon said.
"I never said it was a bad call I'm just saying it won't be a very exciting fight. May has this one in the bag." Alex said with a yawn.
"It's rare to hear you believing in someone in our group Alex." Wally said happily thinking that his friend might finally be starting to act a little more friendly.
"I call it as I see it. If I was certain that she would lose then I'd say that as well but it's safe to assume that May has an easy win." Alex said.
"Look I know you underestimate her but she's really strong okay. She's overcome a lot and you can believe me when I say that she is incredible." Brandon said.
"Why don't you just buy a ring and marry the damn girl already." Alex said and laughed at Brendan's face.
"Hey cut that out. I'm just saying something nice about my friend okay." Brendan said turning red.
"Well this certainly is fun. You need to stop embarrassing yourself. You keep reacting like that and I'll really think something up between you too. How cute and embarrassing." Alex said laughing as Brandon turned his head feeling embarrassed.
Is she really one to be talking after doing that stance with her Froakie doll?" Wally thought as he remembered the funny pose Alex made yesterday and couldn't help but chuckle at the memory.
"What the hell are you laughing at grasshead." Alex said with a raised eye brow.
"Huh oh just the thought of May destroying that guy" Wallys aid making an excuse.
"You better grasshead" Alex said obviously not believing Wally.
"Goose." Zangoose said with an eager grin and held its claws out.
"Alright this looks like it'll be a great battle. So let's get it started!" Scott said.
"Combusken let's start out with double kick!" May said.
"Slash!" David said.
Combusken leapt into the air and shot down at Zangoose with one foot extended.
Zangoose leapt right towards and Combusken and slashed Combusken with it's claws.
Combusken cried out and hit the ground on his side while Zangoose landed on its feet and grinned at Combusken.
"Ember quick!" May said.
While still on the ground Combusken fired a barrage of small fire balls but Zangoose hardly reacted when the flames pelted it's fur.
"Use water pulse!" David said.
Zangoose held its claws together and formed a watery sphere and then hurled it at Combusken.
"Dodge it and use flame charge!" May said.
Combusken leapt to the side to avoid the side and then rushed Zangoose while surrounded in flames and slammed into it and knocked Zangoose onto it's back.
"What a amature" Alex said with a sigh.
"Something wrong Alex?" Wally asked.
"Teaching a Zangoose Water Pulse is really pathetic if you ask me" Alex said shaking her head in disappointment.
"If you ask me it seems smart. I mean it was used to counter fire types." Wally said.
"It doesn't make a difference about that. Zangoose is a physical attacking Pokemon. To have it use a special attack like water pulse is just a waste of time. Honestly believe it or not a move like Slash would be way stronger then something like water Pulse. Plus with Zangooses incredible attack power but garbage special attack it is just painful to watch this joke. The only way I could see this working is if he wanted to confuse Combuskin but even then it seems pointless." Alex said face palming herself.
"I see well when you put it like that then I suppose there is some logic to the words you're speaking." Brandon said with a sigh.
"Yes but isn't that a good thing for May then?" Wally asked failing to see the problem here.
"Oh it's more then a good thing for her grasshead. However it's a problem because now this boring battle will be even more of a let down." Alex said with an annoyed pout.
"Well instead of being upset you should be happy that your friend can handle this." Brandon said happily.
"I suppose so. But it's just that it's so predictable how to win these battles that it's hilarious when someone messes up like that. I mean if I was facing her I'd at least have the brains to win right of the bat." Alex said confidentially.
"I swear your over confidence is your weakness." Brandon said with a glare.
"And your faith in your girlfriend is yours." Alex said as she causing Brandon to blush and turn his head as she focused on the battle.
"Get back up and use slash!" David said.
Zangoose was back on its feet in a flash and quickly slashed Combusken across the chest before leaping away.
"Busken!" Combusken cried and clutched his chest.
"Are you alright Combusken?" May asked.
"Combusken." he replied with a nod.
"Damn that Slash sure is strong. Still Combuskin don't give up and let's show them out power with Peck!" May said.
"Bus" Combusken said.
Combusken rushed towards his opponent and started to rapidly jab Zangoose with his beak.
"Zan! Zan! Zan! Zan!" Zangoose grunted with each hit.
"Alright then let's go with double kick!" May said.
"Block it." David said.
Combusken rushed forward and swung his leg at Zangoose who crossed it's arm and blocked it. Combusken then swung around and hit Zangoose's side.
"Zan!" Zangoose grunted before pushing Combusken away from itself.
"Zangoose use thunderbolt!" David said.
"Again with the special moves. I guess this guy really is pretty dumb." Wally said.
"It's laughable that he even made it this far. I swear I did better then him when I was in diapers." Alex said annoyed.
"You know you seem annoyed. I mean more annoyed then usual." Brandon said.
"Don't ask about it" Alex said.
"Well I have an idea on why your so grumpy and irritated but if I said it and May heard then both you and her would kill me as well as any other girl." Brandon said laughing.
"Then I suppose it'd be best if you didn't say anything then." Alex said annoyed.
Hold on is she still embarrassed about yesterday? Wally though as Alex notice him looking and turned red of anger.
"You tell him anything about what you saw yesterday and I swear I'll make you wish you were never born." Alex whispered to Wally which caused him to shut up and go back to watching the battle.
Zangoose launched a huge electric bolt from its body that flew and struck Combusken who cried out from the electricity.
"Combusken!" he yelled.
"Shake it off Combusken! Then use aerial ace!" May said.
"Zangoose, use your own aerial ace!" David said.
Both Combusken and Zangoose flew towards each other and collided with enough force to create a small explosion that sent them both flying back.
"Zan!" Zangoose cried.
"Kin!" Combusken yelped.
Both pokemon pushed off the ground and were back on their feet in a flash.
"Looks like he finally did something smart by using a aerial ace on a Combusken." Alex said.
"Zangoone use thunderbolt!" David said.
"Rush forward and use double kick!" May said.
"I take it back" Alex said sighing causing Wally and Brandon to laugh a little
Combusken rushed forward and dodged several electric bolts before jumping and sliding right toward Zangoose legs with one foot extended and hit the left leg.
"Zan!" Zangoose cried and quickly moved back while clutching it's leg.
"What was that?" May asked.
"Well isn't this a surprise. Looks like instead of using double kick your Combusken used low sweep." Scott said.
May checked her pokedex and saw that Combusken had indeed learned low sweep. "Great job Combusken!" May said.
"Combusken." he replied with a smile.
"Alright Combusken!" Wally cheered from the side lines.
"Sit down Grasshead." Alex said and pulled him back down to his seat.
"Still for her to be able to learn low sweep is gonna be helpful. It may not be the best move in this situations but it will help against fast pokemon." Brendan said.
"Basically your praising her way to much. 'Oh May your so awesome. I love how cool you are'" Alex said pretending to sound like Brandon.
"NO need to be cruel Alex" Wally said as Brandon basically covered his eyes with his headband due to embarassment.
"If you keep your hat over your face like that I will call you snow head." Alex said.
"This isn't a hat, my hair's actually this color." Brendan said and tugged on a strand.
"Really?" Alex asked.
"Your not the first one to think I was wearing a hat." Brendan said and turned back to watch the battle.
"Zangoose use water pulse!" David said.
"Dodge it and use ember!" May said.
Zangoose formed another blue watery sphere and then hurled it at Combusken who flipped to the side and then launched a barrage of small fireballs that hit Zangoose. Unfortunately, like before Zangoose didn't look fazed.
"Zangoose use slash!" David said.
"Combusken use aerial ace!" May said.
Both Combusken and Zangoose rushed towards each other, Combusken flying towards Zangoose, while Zangoose's claws were glowing white.
It was then that May noticed something. When Zangoose was running towards Combusken it looked like it was dragging it's left left. The same leg that Combusken hit with his low sweep.
They collided and Combusken managed to hit first and then quickly retreated.
"Alright Zangoose it's time for aerial ace!" David said.
"Flame charge!" May said.
Zangoose flew forward and collided with May's starter, who surrounded himself in flames, the force of the two pokemon's attacks caused a small explosion that sent both pokemon flying back to their trainers.
"Combusken use double kick!" May said.
"Block it and then use slash!" David said.
Combusken rushed forward and slammed his foot into Zangoose's crossed arms, Combusken then quickly spun and kicked Zangoose again but it was blocked again.
Zangoose then held its hand up and raked Combusken across the chest with glowing claws and then kicked the fire type away.
"Kin." Combusken groaned and held a hand to where he's just gotten slashed and winced when he touched it.
"Combusken and use ember!" May said.
"Dodge and use aerial ace!" David said.
Zangoose quickly leapt to the side and avoided the barrage of fireballs. It then literally flew forward and swung it's arm against Combusken's chest and knocked him down before quickly rushing away.
"Combusken? Are you ok?" May asked.
"Busken!" Combusken said with a nod.
"Ok then let's use aerial ace!" May said.
"Thunderbolt!" David said.
Combusken flew right at Zangoose but the he was hit by its thunderbolt at point blank range and cried out "Kin!"
Combusken fell to his knees right in front of Zangoose, smoke rising from his body. Then Zangoose back handed Combusken and sent him flying backwards.
"Combusken!" May said with concern for her starter.
"Com. Bus. Ken." Combusken panted.
"Just stay down." Zangoose said.
"Not, on your life." Combusken panted.
"You fought a good fight but it's over, you lost! So just stay down." Zangoose said.
"No! I won't disappoint May. I won't! I WON'T!" Combusken shouted before he became surrounded in a fiery aura.
"Yes now it's time for blaze!" May said happily.
"Well let's see about that. Zangoose use thunderbolt!" David said.
"Ember!" May said.
Combusken opened his beak and instead of firing a barrage of small fireballs, a huge jet of flames was fired instead and easily overpowered the thunderbolt and struck Zangoose.
"Zan!" Zangoose cried while being enveloped in flames.
Once the flames died down Zangoose was still standing and smirked.
"That's right Zangoose! Now water pulse!" David said.
"Flame charge!" May said.
Zangoose hurled a watery sphere while Combusken shot forward while surround in blue flames and easily overpowered the water pulse and then slammed right into Zangoose
Zangoose was sent flying past David and into the wall behind him.
"Zan Zangoose." Zangoose said before falling unconscious.
"Well it looks like Zangoose is unable to battle. That means this round belongs to Combusken." Scott said.
"Like I said using special attacks like that was the other trainer just asking for defeat. And to think May almost lost. She really need to be more careful for the future." Alex said shaking her head.
"Hey she won so who cares" Brandon said.
"I only speak the truth." Alex said but she decided to drop it.
"Yes! That was great Combusken!" May cheered.
"Busken. Com. Busken." Combusken panted but gave a weak wave to May.
"Alright kid you definitely earned your place. Now let's see what you can do against my next pokemon. Now Graveler appear!" David said before releasing his next pokemon.
Graveler was a pokemon that looked like a boulder, it had two long arms and two smaller ones tucked against its body.
"Rock type. And there's no way Combusken's in any state to battle. Combusken return." May said.
"Smart choice, so what do you plan to chose now?" David asked.
"Aron! Come on out!" May said.
"Aron? Why would she pull a dumb move like that?" Alex asked.
"Its actually not a bad call. Graveler's weak to steel types." Brendan said.
"Yeah but Aron's extremely weak to ground attacks." Alex said.
"Don't worry, I sure May's got a plan." Wally said.
"Yeah a reckless plan that much is for sure." Alex said.
"If it works then who cares weather or not it's reckless. She will win." Brandon said.
"I never said that she wouldn't win but this is still reckless. she would have had such an easy match too if she used some other Pokemon. Doesn't May own any water or grass types." Alex said.
"Forgive her for wanting to test out all of her Pokemon. Besides I think it's smart." Brandon said.
"Smart how" Alex asked.
"Well if you think about it with this May will get even training for all of her Pokemon. This way all of them can be really strong." Wally said
"Alright now let's get this started." Scott said.
"Graveler use rock polish!" David said.
Graveler shone blue and it's entire body looked as if it had been polished.
"Aron use iron head!" May said.
"Aron!" the small pokemon said before running forward and became surrounded in silver energy but Graveler swiftly moved to the side and avoided the super effective attack.
"Brick break!" David said.
Graveler swung it's hand at Aron and knocked him away which surprised May due to how heavy Aron was.
Aron landed but didn't cry out and got back to his feet.
"Great job Aron.! May said.
"Ron: Aron said breathing a little heavily.
"Arons acting tough but I can tell it took a lot of damage from that. I mean it has a extremely huge weakness to Fighting types. May needs to be more careful then this if she wants to win." Brandon said.
"Do you really think May has a plan?" Wally asked worried.
"Of course she does or at least I think she does." Brendon said.
I need to be careful to avoid those moves or we could be in some serious trouble. I know if moves like that deal damage then we'll just stop the damage, or at least reduce it. May thought with a smirk
"Aron use iron defense then iron head!" May said.
Aron shone silver and then rushed forward and and surrounded himself in silver energy.
"Gyro ball!" David said.
Graveler curled into a ball and started rapidly spinning towards Aron and collided and sent them both flying and landed with a loud boom!
"No way Graviler was overpowered like that. Well let's see it overpower a brick break!" David said.
"Aron iron defense!" May said.
Graveler rushed forward and swung it's arm at Aron who shone silver again.
Unlike before Aron wasn't sent flying and instead Graviler was stuck there for a second after it's failed attack attempt.
"Sorry but that trick won't work on us anymore. We have a way to make it so we basically take no damage. Now Aron use Iron head fast!" May said.
Aron quickly pushed forward and hit Graveler with his now glowing head and knocked the larger pokemon across the battle field.
"Grav!" Graveler grunted.
"Now use iron head again!" May said.
"Dodge it!" David said.
Like before Graveler moved with surprising speed for a pokemon it's size and avoided the deadly attack.
"Still with the Rock Polish it's speed really is impressive. Though in some ways this may work in our favor since it makes Gyro Ball basically useless." May said with a grin.
"Now hit it with brick break!" David said.
"Iron defense!" May said.
Aron's entire body shone silver before Graveler's hand slammed into him and like before he didn't go flying but there was a small groan from Aron.
"Iron head!" May said.
Aron swung his head that was shining silver and slammed it into Graveler and made the large rock pokemon cry out and stumble away from Aron.
"Now let's try and lower it's speed a bit. Aron use bulldoze!" May said.
"You idiot! Lowering it's speed would only increase the power of Gyro Ball!" Alex said practically shouted.
"In some ways your right but if you think about it, it's probably won't matter that much. I mean yeah it would make gyro ball stronger but after all of Aron's iron defenses then he probably won't take that much damage." Brendan said.
"And now Aron and keep up with Graveler." Wally chimed in.
"Maybe you should sometimes keep your mouth shut instead of always talking down to people. Sometimes you may just say something embarrassing." Brandon said.
Alex glared at him and Wally laughed before they turned back to watch the battle.
Aron had leapt into the air and slammed down which sent a shockwave that shot right at Graveler
"Grav!" Graveler cried out.
"So you actually do have other moves then that Iron Head and Iron Defense." David said
"Hey we have to use whatever works you know. Now iron head!" May said.
"Intercept it!" David said.
Aron rushed forward while surrounded with silver energy but once he was in Graveler's range it reached out and stopped Aron but had a look of pain on its face.
"Now throw that Aron with superpower!" David said.
Graveler then started glowing red and then grabbed Aron with all four of its arms and then threw him high into the sky.
Aron started wiggling his little legs to no success and then cried out "Aron!"
"Bulldoze!" May said.
When Aron hit the ground the entire Battle Tent shook and several people fell out of the stands, and a large shockwave shot right at Graveler who cried out in pain.
"Well that was an earth shattering attack." Scott said with a chuckle at his own joke.
May ignored Scott and looked at the small crater that Aron made when he hit the ground.
"Aron! Are you ok little guy?" May asked with concern.
Aron climbed out of the hole but unlike much to David's disappointment it looked unscathed.
"Impossible but how is your Aron unscathed." David said shocked.
"It was close but we just barely got in an Iron Defense at the last second to protect us. I got to thank you for being cocky and not using that attack right off the bat. If you did then our defense wouldn't have been nearly high enough and we would've been in some serious trouble. But since you waited so long we had more then enough defense to stop the attack. Sorry but facing Aron was just bad luck for you but it was a good try though" May said with a smile.
"So what if you resisted the damage. I have plenty on defense too with Graviler. Watch and see how your pathetic little attack barley even phased us." David said.
David mist have expecting to see Gaviler come up looking unscathed.. But much to his disappointment Graveler looking terrible. That last powerful bulldoze attack really did a number on it, but it still hadn't been enough to take it down.
"Are you still ok to battle Aron?" May asked.
"Aron! Ron Ron!" Aron said with an enthusiastic nod.
"Ok then let's go with iron head!" May said.
"Brick break!" David said.
Both pokemon rushed towards each other, Aron surrounded with silver energy, and Graveler with it's two hands glowing white and they collided with each other.
"Come on Aron!" May said.
"You better not mess this up Graveler!" David said.
Aron's iron head slowly but surely started overpowering the brick break.
"Aron!" the small pokemon said and pushed off the ground and sent Graveler flying.
Graveler was sent flying and rolled backwards to David's feet.
"Graveler." it said and was pushing itself back up with all four of its arms.
"Hey are you okay there? You don't look like your in any condition to keep fighting." Aron said a little worried.
"Shut up. I have to win and be strong. Not every Pokemon is like you and has a kind trainer." Graveler said
"I see. Well then I'm sorry about that but I can't lose either. It's because May's so nice that I want to win for her and that I refuse to lose!" Aron said
"I see that's fine little guy. I can respect that. Your strong for such a little guy. Maybe if my trainer wasn't so cocky things would go different. Still let's end this. Show me your power." Graviler said with a grin.
"Okay then. I'll end this here then" Aron said with a look of determination in it's eyes as both Pokemon faced each other.
"That's odd" Brendan said.
"What's wrong?" Wally asked.
"There a strange look in the Gravelers eyes. Its as if it really doesn't want to win for the right reasons." Brendan said as he decided to drop it and watch the battle.
"What do you mean by that?" Wally asked.
"Well it's hard to explain but I'll just check something out after the battle." Brandon said.
"Finish this with iron head!" May said.
"Brick Break!" David said
Aron rushed forward while surrounded with white energy and slammed into Graveler right as it got to its feet and both Pokemon collided but with Aron's rock hard defense it barely took any damage and proved to be stronger.
Graveler was sent flying to the same place Zangoose had hit and made the hole even bigger.
"Graveler." it said.
"Well everyone it looks like we have our first round winner! Let's give a round of applause to May, Aron, and Combusken!" Scott said.
May released her Combusken when the applause started so he'd get some of the glory to.
"I'm so proud of you." May said before kissing Combusken's head.
"Aron!" Aron complained with a pout.
May knelt down and rubbed his head "and of course I'm proud of you to little guy. You both did such a wonderful job and we won that." she said before kissing his head to.
May then returned both of her pokemon and left to drop them off at the pokemon centre before she went back to meet up with Alex, Wally, and Brendan.
David opened a Pokeball containing Garviler and eyed it coldly.
"Get out" David said.
"Grav?" Graviler said confused.
"You were and embarrassment and barley even hurt our opponent. Now leave you just cost me the tournament." David said in disgust.
"Well that's messed up don't you think. I thought Something seemed off but you this is just cruel." Brandon said as he walked ourside.
"What the hell do you want kid" David said annoyed.
"Well let's just say I'm friends with the girl who just beat you. It was a good fight watching her have and easy win. SO thanks for being an idiot. I'm sure it'll be great for her self esteem." Brandon said with a grin.
"You always talk to strangers like this boy." David said
"Oh no not usually but there is a reason. Brandon said as his expression turned serious. "I can't stand people who just use Pokemon. That's unforgivable and makes you nothing but trash." Brandon said sounding furious.
"Oh really I'm trash then huh." David said with a chuckle as he threw a Pokeball to Brandon.
Brandon stared at it and then looked at David.
"Take that Pokemon then. It's Gravilier so if you wanna see real trash then use it. I can guarantee that you will be disappointed." David said laughing.
"Really a free Pokemon. Well then thanks." Brendan said then turned to Graveler "I saw you were having a good conversation with Aron. I'm good friends with the girl that owns him and we travel together. How about you come with me and I'll make you stronger." Brandon said.
"Gra" Graveler said looking down and then at David.
"Do as you please you aren't my problem anymore." David said calmly.
"You seem kinda shy despite being a Graviler. Either way we can be good friends okay. Trust me and come on. I treat my Pokemon well so you'll have a good place." Brandon said.
Graviler thought it over. He saw that his old trainer couldn't care less about him so he decided why not leave and join the kid.
"Gra" Graveler said as it hit the Pokeball and went inside.
"Well you better pray we never meet again or else I will have a real easy win on my hands." David said with a smirk as he turned and walked away.
"And I hope we do meet again so I can really give you a beat down." Brendan said before he turned around to walk back to join his friends.
A/N the only reason I ember the description of a flamethrower and flare blitz was because Combusken had blaze activated.
I also really want to hear what your guys favorite Sinnoh pokemon are so please tell me them in a review, even if you don't have a profile you can still review.
