Corrie lay in bed the next morning staring at the ceiling. Maybe if she didn't move, didn't get out of the safety of her bed, maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be real.

"Babe," Jax said softly from the doorway.

"Hm," she responded, not moving.

"I have to go to the Clubhouse. You can meet me there and we can ride to-"

"Don't say it, Jax. If you say it, then it's real. It can't be real...right, Jax? He's not really...gone." She said without looking at him.

Jax sat on the bed softly, taking her hand in his. He kissed her temple. "Go take a shower." He whispered.

They stood around a peaceful meadow. Jax had an arm draped across Corrie's back, his hand on her hip. The other hand lay at his side. It was a beautiful day for a funeral. Jax looked at the crowd, taking in the faces that turned up to say goodbye to Piney. Thomas and Karina had brought Tara, who was having a tough time keeping it together. Men from other charters, men from other clubs. A lot of people had turned up to salute the old man. Jax had to hold in a huff when his eyes landed on Clay. Clay had dark sunglasses on and scratches on his face. Jax wondered if the scratches were the product of Piney fighting for his life. It didn't help matters that his mother hadn't showed up. The Queen should be present for events like this.

When people had told their stories about Piney, Opie said a gentle "Goodbye, Pop" before spreading Piney's ashes in his favorite spot. The crowd broke up and started talking to each other. Corrie left Jax's side to embrace Opie.

"I love you," she said softly in his ear when he had her enveloped in a bear hug.

"Me too," he said.

"You need anything, you let me know." She said, giving him a watery smile as they broke apart.

"Where's Corrie?" Opie asked when Jax answered his knock. Jax had sat on the couch debating for hours on whether to tell Opie that Clay had killed Piney. Finally, he'd called his best-friend and asked him to come over to Jax's house for a sit down.

"Picking Abel up from Thomas'." Jax moved aside to let his best-friend enter his house.

"I know who did this." Opie said, sitting down at the dining room table.

Jax nodded solemnly. "Yeah." He pulled two beers out of the fridge before sitting down across from Opie.

"Found this at the cabin." Opie tossed the reaper pin on the table. "Noticed Clay was missing his today. He also looks pretty beat up."

"Ope-" Jax started.

"Don't try to talk me out of this." Opie snarled. "After Donna...now Piney? I can't walk away from this."

"I'm not asking you to." Jax said evenly. "Clay deserves everything he gets."

"Thought you'd want me to let shit play out; let the club handle it." Opie said taking a pull off his beer.

"Nah, man," Jax shook his head. "I called you over here to tell you Clay killed your old man." Jax mimicked Opie and took a pull off his own beer.

"What're you talking about?" Opie demanded.

"Corrie overheard Gemma and Unser talking in the office at TM. They were talking about cleaning up the scene so nobody would know it was Clay. Gemma found Piney, called Unser to clean up. Then she called Corrie to have her go up there and check on him so that Corrie would find the body." Jax said, shooting his best-friend a sarcastic smile.

"Jesus Christ." Opie growled.

Jax's chirping phone drew their attention. He was surprised to see it was his mother. "Yeah," he answered, his eyes locked on Opie.

"You should get to the Clubhouse." Gemma said quickly.

"What happened?" Jax demanded. Opie was already standing and getting ready to leave.

"Prospect was drivin' Corrie over to Thomas'. Somebody ran them off the road." Gemma said.

"Jesus. Are they okay?" Jax asked.

"Yeah. Corrie's pretty shaken up, though."

"We'll be right there." Jax said, slamming his phone closed. "Prospect and Corrie were in a car accident. They're at the Clubhouse."

Jax walked through the Clubhouse doors, eager to make sure Corrie and his baby were okay. He caught sight of the prospect, V-Lin, sitting in a chair. He was getting a nasty gash in his head sewn up by Chibs. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the chapel doors close. Then his eyes landed on his battered mother.

"Jesus Christ, ma! What happened to you?" Jax demanded, taking her into his arms.

"It's nothing, Jackson. I pushed too hard." She said. She didn't want to tell her son that she'd confronted Clay about killing Piney. She also didn't want to mention that she'd fired a shot off at Clay before Clay got the gun from her and beat her bloody on their dining room floor. Jax could plainly see the damage that had been inflicted on his mother by his step-father. He didn't a literal blow-by-blow.

"Clay did this to you?" Jax asked, surprise registering on his face.

"I'm fine, baby. Really. Clay just pulled Corrie into chapel for a chat." Gemma said.

"A chat about what?" Jax asked angrily.

"I dunno." Gemma said. She watched as Jax and Opie sidled up to the closed chapel doors to listen to what was being said on the other side.

"You okay?" Clay asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Corrie shrugged. She was standing with her back to the chapel doors, Clay was seated at his usual spot.

"Can't be too careful out there. Especially now that you're carrying Jax's heir to the throne."

"We don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet." Corrie said. She was extremely uncomfortable being inside the chapel, especially with Clay.

"Glad that you'll be able to find out. It was a close call today." Clay said.

"Accidents happen." Corrie said.

"Yeah, they do." Clay agreed. "Could be another one happens. Maybe while you're alone."

"Are you threatening me?" Corrie demanded, anger bubbling to the surface.

"Nah," Clay shook his head. "I'm warnin ya."

"Warning me from what?" Corrie spat.

"The things you know. Could get the club into a lot of trouble if you told the wrong people."

"I haven't told anybody anything! I would never rat on Jax, Opie, or anybody else out in that room." She pointed towards the Clubhouse.

"Oh, you feel a loyalty to them, do ya?" Clay challenged.

"More loyalty than you do!" Corrie shouted.

"What does that mean?" Clay shouted back.

"You're so fucking loyal that you killed Piney!" Corrie screamed. Clay was up from the table in an instant, coming towards her.

"You don't know what you're talking about. But you keep talkin that way, you and that baby ain't gonna make it much longer." He was right in her face when the chapel doors opened and he was confronted with two livid bikers glaring at him.

"Babe, you okay?" Jax asked, his eyes fixed on Clay.

Corrie nodded. "I'm fine."

"Tig," Jax called over his shoulder, "clear the Clubhouse."

"You got it." Tig said without thinking twice. He didn't care if they killed Clay or not. After what Clay had done to Gemma, Clay deserved everything he got.

Kind of short. What do you think the guys are gonna do to Clay? Are they gonna kill him?
