1.37 Amazing

Luffy peered through the compartment doors and watched as Neville stared out the windows, slightly dazed. The straw hat boy smiled, adjusted his hat and opened the door slowly, giggling to himself when he noticed that Neville had not taken any notice to him at all. The boy walked in and sat in front of Neville, watching the boy blink, his eyes still glazed over. He leaned forward, waving his hands in front of Neville.

"Nev?"

It was very funny when Neville yelped and fell to the floor. So funny that Luffy couldn't help but double over in laughter and fall to the floor. The other boy blushed and whimpered, "L-Luffy...d-don't scare me l-like that!"

Luffy continued his giggled before saying, "Shishi, you're so funny, Nev." Then suddenly, his face was set and his eyes peered at the slightly plumper boy before asking, "Are you okay?"

Neville blinked after sitting back down. He stared at Luffy, baffled. "What do you mean?"

"..."

There was silence for a little bit more before Neville chuckled sheepishly. "I'm...really pathetic. I don't get why Professor Dumbledore gave me those points. I didn't do anything but get cursed by Hermione and look stupid. And even then, those points I got were so much less that Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Sure it allowed us to win the house cup…but still…I don't even understand why you didn't get any points." The boy laughed at himself. "Everybody's so happy that I did something useful...but I really think that I didn't do anythi-"

"Are you stupid?"

The other first-year looked taken back when Luffy glared at him darkly. Neville shivered. Those eyes were really...

"You tried to protect them." Neville blinked, surprised.

"I-"

"You didn't notice...but that's what you did." And then suddenly, there was a kind smile on Luffy's lips. "You stood up to them. You tried to stop them from doing something stupid...and that's good. A friend would do anything to protect their friends, even stand up to them, right? Like Dumbledore said, it's takes a lot of bravery to stand up to your own friends. And a lot more if it's for their sake because sometimes, it's hard to go against your friends. Really hard," Luffy grinned. "That makes you really amazing, Neville."

For a few seconds, Neville said nothing before his lips started to quiver. The boy shut his eyes and a few tears fell down, leaving a trail on his cheeks before the boy whimpered out, "T-Thank...y-you..."

Luffy only smiled gently at his friend before him. "Shishi, no problem."

Kura: Finally :3

Berry: ...Ugh...I hope the other books don't take this long.

Kura: How long has it been since we started this? O-o

Berry: ...bout a year...I think...

Kura: ...(smacks forehead) so long...

Berry: …:3

Kura: But now! We will be heading into the little summer drabbles! X3 I wrote them already! Just a few adjustments here and there and I'll be posting the first summer one in a bit!
