thunrady - I can't talk about the Linch because it would ruin the plot I have set for the story. As for Roxy's bell, that'd be a spolier too! So just keep reading and you'll find out.
KaijuBoy455 - Yeah no Marcy, but that's because it plays into what I have planned for Roxy. It'll make more sense once the stoy gets further.
Natalie - No I haven't seen the series final no spoilers, please!
Guest - That will be the next chapter posted.
Guest - The picture of Roxy should be the one on the story, expect no animal ears or tail.
The Chamber of Frozen Blades - Ice Ice Ninja!
Finn, Jake, and Roxy all sat on top of an ice-capped mountain, just a few meters away from the dwelling of The Ice King. Jake was reading a book that read "Ninja Manual", and Roxy was laying back in the snow with her thinking face on. Finn, however, was not engaging in such activities, but instead, he was holding a pair of binoculars staring at the entrance of The Ice King's domain.
"Hour six of our Ice Kingdom stakeout. Abso-nothing's going on there," Finn said
Jake was too engrossed with his book to hear what Finn had said. "And if I do this hand position-" Jake moved his hands mimicking the instructions of the book, "-my boogers should turn into smoke bombs."
Roxy, who had drifted off into her own world, didn't hear Finn's words either.
Finn turned away from the binoculars facing the fourth member who was with the group on the mountaintop.
"You sure this tip is good, Flambo?"
Flambo, who was a cute little fire flambit from the fire kingdom, stood up from his resting place in the small set of logs.
"Come on, you know I'm on the level. The Ice King is scheming to nabs a princess today. I swears it."
"Hmm." Finn hummed anxious that nothing was happening.
Jake finally pulled himself away from his book talking to Finn. "Relax, Restless Pants. A true ninja can sense the intentions of his enemies." He shape changes his ear into a symbol. "Jin."
Flambo laughed, "Ninjas? Ninjas ain't real for nothing, no how."
"Whoa, now ninjas are real. For you see," Finn covers his face. "Doo, doo, doo... Jake, Roxy, and I are ninjas. Right Roxy?"
"Roxy!" Jake called shaking the girl out of her thoughtful state.
"Huh? What?!" Roxy questioned sitting up.
"Tell Flambo here that we've been Ninja's ever since we fished this ninja manual out of a ditch," Jake said
"Oh, yeah it's true," Roxy confirmed
"See, Finn, booty me!" Jake said
Jake jumps in the air and Finn threw four pairs of booties at Jake. The yellow dog catches the shoes on his feet perfectly.
"Wait, Listen!" Finn said
Roxy gets up from her spot walking over to Finn. Loud Penguin squawking could be heard coming from The Ice King's place.
"Guys, I think I'm gonna take off my booties. I can't flip these pages." Jake tried to turn the pages of his book but struggled to do so with his new booties on.
"Gunter, let's go! I've got the overnight bag." The Ice King shouted
"Wenk, wenk!" Came Gunter's cries.
Finn looked back through the binoculars. "It's the Ice King, all right, and he's looking awful pleased with himself."
"Uh-oh. If the Ice King's so happy, he must have stolen a princess when we weren't looking, somehow. That's ninja logic," Jake said
"Then we gotta-"
"Ahem," Flambo coughed interrupting Finn.
Roxy pulls out a lump of coal tossing it to Flambo. The little flame catches the mineral in his mouth eating it with a satisfied smile.
"We gotta save that princess," Finn finished
"You got it, shino-bro!" Jake declared
"Wait, if Finn is your shino-bro then what does that make me?" Roxy asked
"Oh, well since you're a girl that would make you a kunoichi so you'd be my kuno-gal," Jake said
"Hmm okay, but doesn't sound as good as shino-bro," Roxy said
"It's a work in progress. Ninja kick!" Jake said
"Ninja kick!"
Once The Ice King was gone the two humans along with their yellow dog brother entered.
"Princess? Princess!" Finn called out.
Jake sniffs around lifting up The Ice King's throne. "Princess?"
Roxy walked over to The Ice King's jail cell where he normally houses captured Princesses. "Princess!"
Jake made his way to the bathroom and searched the room from top to bottom, even looking in the toilet. "Princess?"
After searching the main rooms of The Ice King's lair the trio found no evidence whatsoever that The Ice King was hiding a princess.
"No princess here, man," Jake said
"Yeah, a lot of dirty laundry but no princess," Roxy affirmed
"No princess?" Finn gasped coming to a conclusion, "It's...a trap! We're being trapped! Ninja vanish! Evade! Evade!"
Jake put his hands up calming down Finn. "Nothing is trapped, dude. We can't find any captured princesses, because the Ice King hasn't captured one yet. He's out doin' it right now."
"That makes sense, I mean he did leave this place with a pretty big duffle bag," Roxy added
"Are you guys sure?" Finn asked
"No." Jake confidently pronounced. "It's only a ninja hunch, so we should ninja snoop for proof."
Jake led Finn and Roxy to The Ice King's bedroom.
"Wait, man. I-I feel uncomfortable snooping through Ice King's personal stuff. It feels sorta like...a violation," Finn said
Jake ignores Finn reaching under The Ice King's pillow pulling out a book. "Whoo! Got the Ice King's diary."
"Jake come on man don't open that," Roxy said
Finn shakes his head agreeing with Roxy. "No, no, no, no, no! We can't read his private junk!"
The two try and stop Jake but he stops them.
"And yet we must." Jake cleared his throat shapeshifting into The Ice King. "Dear diary, and you better write me back this time!" Jake read copying The Ice King's voice. "Today I'm bringing home a special new cutie."
"There's our proof, man!" Finn said
"Hmmm, I don't feel right about going through the man's personal thoughts but now we know. Soooo-" Roxy snatched the diary from Jake, "Let's put this back."
"Aww, but I was just getting to the good parts," Jake said
"No Jake," Roxy sternly stated
"Alright. Let's use our ninja stealth and hide until he comes back with the princess," Finn said
No longer having access to The Ice King's diary Jake shrunk down with a mischievous smile. "Or we could keep looking through his stuff. Heh, heh, heh! You know, for more proof? Hehehe!"
"No." Finn picks up Jake. "Alls we're gonna do is lie in wait until the Ice King gets back. Then BOOM we catch him with princess on his hands."
"Where are we gonna hide?" Jake asked
"In this filthy hamper!" Finn throws Jake into the basket before jumping in himself. "Come on Roxy." He gestured beckoning the girl to the hamper.
"Yeah, there's no way I'm hiding in that thing with The Ice King's dirty unmentionables," Roxy stated
"Then where are you gonna hide?" Finn asked
"I'll go hide in the kitchen, you know just in case The Ice King decides he wants a snack after capturing a princess," Roxy said
"Great idea," Finn said before going back into the hamper.
Roxy left heading to the kitchen, her goal not to hide, but to acutely go raid The Ice King's fridge.
"Hmmmm no wonder The Ice King seems so unhealthy half the stuff in here isn't even food." Roxy pulled out a milk carton from The Ice King's fridge but it was actually just an ice sculpture replicating a real carton of milk.
"There's a lot of ice cream in here though."
Roxy viewed the various flavors of the frozen treat. "Ooo, Mint Coco sounds good." She grabbed the ice cream. "Now all I need to find is a spoon, and Roxy will be in business."
After going through various cupboards and drawers Roxy was able to locate one clean spoon within The Ice King's kitchen. She pulled the top off the ice cream digging in. As she was just in her second spoonful a loud crash sounded through the lair.
"Finn? Jake?"
Roxy tossed away her spoon and ice cream leaving the kitchen. She made her way into the main room of the lair and discovered one of the walls had been essentially demolished. She stuck her head into the new hole created in the wall.
"Finn? Jake?"
"Yo Rox look at this. We found a secret hidden room full of ninja stuff!" Jake called out
Using the ice in the room Roxy slides in stopping before Finn and Jake.
"What kind of guy builds a cave inside of another a cave? What's this?" Jake approached a large book on a pedestal. "A spellbook? Whoo!"
"Dude! Leave no trace!" Finn shouted
"Ah, it's too late for that," Jake stated
To emphasize Jake's point Roxy points behind them at the large hole in the wall.
"It's not too….late…..whoa!" Finn gasped running his eyes over the book.
"What'cha got there?" Jake asked
"Dude! It's a first-edition Ice Ninja Manual!" Finn exclaimed
Jake gasps both surprised and giddy.
"Huh? What are the odds," Roxy said
Finn picked up the book reading it. "A true ninja passes no wind; he only passes-" Jake farted interrupting Finn off.
"I ain't even heard of these techniques." Jake reads the book before making some hand symbols. "Nuh-nuh-n-numm-nuh numb-chucks." At the end of his chanting, a pair of ice nunchucks appeared on Jake's hand.
Finn looked around the room. "Hey. Ice King seems way into ninjas, even more than we are."
"Yeah, so?" Jake twirled around his nunchucks but ended up hitting himself on the head.
"So doesn't that mean that ninjas must be...kinda lame?" Finn questioned
"Nah, they're still cool. But Ice King's still lame because he hides his ninja love. We wear our ninja on our sleeves!" Jake declared
"Yeah besides were so cool even if we did something lame it'd be cool," Roxy added
Jake now having better control over his nunchucks uses them to break a cabinet.
"Jake! Show me how to do that," Finn said
"Let me see that book I wanna make a destructive ninja weapon too," Roxy smiled
Finn, Roxy, and Jake got busy learning various Ice Ninja techniques.
Finn made a few hand signs. "Fridjitsu master Finn summons...dagger of chilled glass." A set of daggers appeared in Finn's hand.
"Fridjitsu master Jake summons...stars of frozen rain." Jake created a set of ice throwing stars. "Get ready to be star struck," He shouted before throwing his stars at Finn.
"Get ready to be cold cut!" Finn deflected Jake's attack but in the process broke The Ice King's television and chair.
As the two brothers duked it out with ice ninja weapons, breaking The Ice King's things, Roxy was off on the side trying to create her own weapons.
"Alright, Fridjitsu Roxy summons, Snowstorm Sword." Roxy made the correct hand signs and concentrated hard, but nothing happened. The teen girl frowned pouting. For some reason, she couldn't create any weapons like Finn and Jake.
As she tried over and over again Finn and Jake were in the background fighting while at the same time destroying The Ice King's lair.
"Why isn't it working?" Roxy pondered as she tried another technique.
On her eighth attempt, Roxy's hands started glowing white.
"Yes! Yes!" She cheered
The white glow quickly died down and once again Roxy was left with nothing.
"Aw man," Roxy frowned
She was finally taken away from the Ninja Manual when a sharp whistle came.
"It's the Ice King! Hide!" Finn shouted
Roxy turned around facing Finn and Jake. "Oh, my sweet scones!" She exclaimed.
The room had been destroyed all The Ice King's things having been trashed.
"What'd you two do? How long did I have my back turned?"
"No time gotta hide!" Finn said
Jake grabbed Finn and Roxy pulling them into a hiding spot around the corner.
The Ice King entered his home, seeming to not notice the wrecked state it was in. "Okay, m'dear, this enclosure will be your new home!"
"He's got a princess. Now we leap out and catch him red-handed," Finn whispered
"Okay, sounds like a plan, but later we gotta talk about yours and Jake's destroying of The Ice King's lair," Roxy said
"Hai!" Jake said
"Snow blind!" Finn disappeared in a flurry of snow.
"Thin ice, thin ice, thin ice!" Jake went flat into a 2D plane and vanished.
"Uhhh…?" Roxy said before walking away.
As The Ice King talked Finn and Jake appeared wielding Ice Weapons. Roxy just walked out summing her hammer.
"Ice King, hand over that princess!" Finn demanded
"Princess? What?" The Ice King questioned
Finn, Jake, and Roxy looked around not spotting a princess.
"Guys, where's the princess?" Finn asked
"What princess?" The Ice King repeated
"The, um...princess you were just talking to?" Finn said
"Yeah, the one you just came back from stealin'," Jake added
"Ya know, like what you do almost every other day," Roxy stated
"Wrong-o. I was at the hospital, for it turns out Gunter here was preggers!" The Ice King held Gunter and the little penguin held up an egg.
The egg was rather big being roughly the same size as Gunter himself.
"Whoa Gunter, you laid that! That must've hurt man," Roxy said
"Wenk," Gunter squawked holding the egg close to him.
"I was just talking to the egg! It's such a cutie!" The Ice King gushed
"Gunter's a woman?!" Jake gasped
"What? No!" The Ice King examined Gunter before tossing him away. "Fuh. Anyway, get out of my house or I'll kill you, et cetera. I want to take a nap in my easy chair." That's when The Ice King finally realized what state his home was in. "What happened to my recliner?!"
"Ohh…" Finn nervously said avoiding eye contact with The Ice King.
"My skins and tubs!" The Ice King cried
Jake inhaled sharply through his teeth now avoiding eye contact just like Finn.
The Ice King walked over to the hole where his secret Ninja room was. "You even violated my secret sanctum?! What is wrong with you?!"
Roxy put her hand up. "Uhm, Roxy didn't do anything, but she'll take some responsibility since she should've been watching those two."
"No princess?" Finn asked
"No! No princess!" The Ice King shouted
Finn and Jake's ice weapons disappear.
"We messed up, Jake. We're….violators!" Finn said
"Yeah, what the heck?! You think you can just wreck my house and wear my collectibles?! Hah! Who do you guys think you are?!" The Ice King shouted
"We're ninjas?" Jake said
"You're not ninjas! You're just a couple of jerks!" The Ice King said
Finn and Jake fall to the ground disheartened.
"Hey, man, harsh," Roxy said
"Shush my little diamond, Papa is scolding jerks right now," The Ice King said
"It's true. Ice King, we're gonna make this right," Finn declared
"Yeah, do it; make it right. And start by, uh, oh, take my bag over to the cage," The Ice King said
Finn grabs the bag and takes it over to where The Ice King had pointed. As he carried the bag rustling could be heard, and it was coming from within the bag.
"Oh, no, no, no! Not that! Never mind! Put that down and go clean my gym equipment," The Ice King said
Finn didn't listen but instead set the bag down opening it. "Doctor Princess!"
The Ice King nervously chuckled, "Oh, heh...I have no idea how that got in there!"
"What's goin' on?" Finn questioned
"I'll field that one." Doctor Princess took off her glasses cleaning them before putting them back on. "The Ice King abducted me while I was distracted by the horrifying beauty of birth."
Gunter squawked rubbing his face against the egg.
"Yes, Gunter's ailment was the perfect cover for stealing a princess, M.D," The Ice King said
"I'm not even a real princess. 'Princess' is just a surname." Doctor Princess claimed
Jake helped Doctor Princess out of the bag.
"Enough! You may have uncovered my princess-smuggling scheme, but you'll never leave this place alive!" The Ice King shouted
Jake laughed, "A couple of ninjas like us can only be defeated by another ninja!"
The Ice King wrapped his beard around his face like a scarf. "Doot, doo, doooo!" He summoned an ice sansetsukon. "Ninja!"
"Ninja!" Finn and Jake shouted
"What am I looking at here, exactly?" Doctor Princess asked confused
"Trust me this is normal. Don't think too much into it," Roxy reassured Doctor Princess.
"NINJA!" The three guys shouted before fighting.
"Soooooo how is your egg doing?" Doctor Princess asked Gunter.
"Wenk, wenk," Gunter answered
"Oh," Doctor Princess said
"How'd he lay such a big thing anyway?" Roxy asked Doctor Princess.
"It was a pure unnatural magnificent thing of nature," Doctor Princess said
"Oh, cool," Roxy said
Gunter gets on top of his egg and it begins to hatch. The shell of the egg cracked before it hatches revealing a pink kitten with a red heart on its forehead.
"Gunter! Why didn't you tell me?" The Ice King said
Gunter shrugs his little shoulders in an "I don't know" motion. "Weh-weh-wenk."
"Oh, Gunter…" The Ice King said before he was promptly kicked in the face by Finn and Jake.
Jake walked into the living room making his way to the kitchen for a snack. As he crossed into the room he noticed Roxy sitting in the middle of the room with The Ice King's Ninja Book. She was still trying to attempt making weapons.
"You're still at it?" Jake asked
"Yes! Ugh!" Roxy threw her hands up. "I don't get it! You and Finn had no issues making ice ninja weapons. Even The Ice King had no problem!" Roxy groaned falling back laying on the floor. "I don't get it, is there something wrong with me?"
Jake walked over to Roxy plopping on the floor taking a seat next to the girl.
"There's nothing wrong with you Rox," Jake patted Roxy's head. "Maybe it's a gender thing."
"Gender thing?" Roxy questioned
"Yeah, I mean maybe the Ninja book was only meant for boy Ninja's," Jake theorized
"Hmmmm?" Roxy crossed her arms casting her gaze off to the side. "I don't know? Sounds a like a far stretch?"
"Haha, if anyone knows about far stretches it's me!" Jake laughed stretching his arms curling them.
This caused Roxy to chuckle too. She sat up brushing some dirt from the floor out of her hair.
"I guess you right Jake. I probably shouldn't think too much into it, I can still do other things liiike," Roxy summoned her shield.
"Right on Rox! You might not have ninja weapons but you do have mad warrior weapons!" Jake said
"Thanks, Jake," Roxy said
"No probs. Now if you'll excuse me there's a slice of pie calling my name." Jake left the room heading to the kitchen.
Roxy looked at The Ice King's book. "I'll return this tomorrow." She was about to pick up the book but paused as she looked at her shield. "Hmmm?" She put away her shield and picked up the book turning the pages to one of the simplest weapon summoning. She made the correct hand signs focusing with her eyes closed.
Her hands started glowing pink and something started forming before her.
"Roxy!"
"Wha!" Roxy jumped her concentration broken, the object that was forming shattered and disappeared before anyone could see it.
"You okay?" Jake asked poking his head into the room.
"Yeah, yeah. You need something, Jake?" Roxy asked
Jake smiled holding up a plate with a slice of pie on it. "There's a second slice of pie left wanna join me?"
Roxy grinned. "Sure." She closed the ninja manual tucking it under her arm leaving the room.
