"Connie you're the BEST! Do you know that? And I mean the BEST!" Zoe slurred as she held on to Connie for dear life as the pair staggered across the hospital car park. Connie merely rolled her eyes ignoring her colleague's drunken ramblings, instead concentrating on her waking. She was practically carrying Zoe across the tarmac towards the emergency department which was a lot harder when pregnant and in heels. The weather was also against Connie as the roads still remained icy from the nights freezing conditions.

"You're so pretty too. Have I ever told you that?..." Zoe asked. As she looked up at a highly irritated Connie who rolled her eyes before replying with a simple no.

"I should have told you..." Zoe mumbled almost angrily.

"It's quite alright Zoe. Let's just get you inside" Connie sighed feeling ever so less patient by the second.

"I don't want to go inside... I want to ice skate!" Zoe began to laugh as she managed to break free from Connie's strong grasp and slide herself across the ice.

"Zoe don't! Come on!" Connie called as she tentivley took steps over to where Zoe was spinning about on one foot.

"Oh c'mon. Don't be a spoil sport!" Zoe wailed drawing attention from those that happened to be milling about the entrance. The commotion caused Dixie to look up from where she was sat on the trolley in her ambulance, writing up some patient handover sheets. She narrowed her eyes as she watched the figure of Zoe Hanna reach out and Grab Connie who was protesting and telling Zoe to stop. Zoe however ignored the wishes of Connie and began to spin the heavily pregnant clinical lead around on the ice. Connie, who was wearing her laboutins found her foot slipping against the ice, her hands falling from Zoe's grasp, and her body crashing down to the ice dramatically.

"Shit!" Dixie muttered as she watched the clinical lead lay motionlessly on the ice, Zoe standing over her body looking gobsmacked.

"Max?!" Dixie called to the young porter who had just appeared outside to smoke a cigarette. Max looked up to Dixie, the cigarette between his lips and smoke drifting into the air.

"Can you grab a wheelchair and a nurse?" She shouted as she jumped down from the ambulance and began to jog over towards where Connie remained lying. Max stood for a second, his eyes drinking in the sight of the casualty.

"MAX!" Dixie shouted as she reached the scene and bent down beside Connie. Max immediately dropped his cigarette to the floor and dashed inside to get help. Zoe meanwhile stood over the two other women shivering, not quite sure what she was supposed to do.

"Connie? Can you hear me darling? It's Dixie" She called. To her surprise Connie opened her eyes and began to blink.

"What's happened" She croaked as she lifted a hand and placed it to her head which was pounding.

"You've just had a little fall, but you're going to be ok. Max has gone to grab someone so we can make sure you are ok" Dixie spoke gently as she took Connie's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"I'm ok..." Connie spoke quietly as she lifted her head up slightly, her hands falling to the ice to support her as she pulled herself up.

"I think it's best if you stay sat there for a second darling, just till one of the team come and check you over" Dixie advised although her words fell on deaf ears because as soon as she had finished speaking, Connie was pulling herself up so that she was standing, albeit slightly shakily.

"I'm fine, honestly..."

"Connie!" A voice called from across the car park. Connie looked over to the entrance of the hospital where Rita had appeared with a wheelchair and Max in tow.

"For god sake I am perfectly fine"

"She hit the floor pretty hard" Dixie admitted.

"Yes, thank you Dixie. I'm sure you have work you should be getting on with" Connie spoke, her eyes narrowed and her words coming out viciously. Rita and Max both winced at the clinical leads harsh speak.

"Yeah, urm, see you later" Dixie muttered as she stuck her hands into her coat pocket and staked off back towards her ambulance. Rita smiled sadly at the blonde paramedic as she slipped off back across the car park.

"Am I needed?" Max asked, a smirk across his face as he watched Zoe herself slip on the ice. Before she could fall though both Rita and Connie grabbed her and pulled her back up.

"For god sake. Get her inside before we all end up do the bolero" Connie barked as she clicked her fingers and pointed to the wheelchair signalling for Max to place Zoe into it.

"So she doesn't fall over again" Connie muttered as she looked back at Zoe who was now leaning against Rita.

"…she said you're a good kisser…" She spoke as her head lolled against Rita's shoulder, her eyes looking straight into Rita's. A small knowing smile fell to Rita's lips as she looked over to Connie.

"Right that is enough, sit down and do as you are told because I am rapidly losing patience with you all" Connie barked.

"Right yes. Doctor Hanna? Your ride has arrived" Max spoke as he and Rita both took an arm each and lowered the doctor into the wheelchair carefully.

"Take her to cubicles Max and for god sake don't let her out of your sight" Connie shouted as the porter began to move back towards the ED. He raised a hand signalling that he had heard what Connie had said.

"You shouldn't have spoken to them like that… they were only trying to help…"

"Oh you know what Rita? Do me a favour and go and Mother someone else because believe me this routine is getting extremely old now" Connie said, her words dripping with venom as she folded her arms over her stomach and began to stride towards the warmth of the ED.

"Where do you get off being such a bitch?" Rita shouted after her as she remained in the spot where Connie had left her. Rita swallowed worriedly as she watched Connie stop dead in her tracks. Rita knew she probably shouldn't have pushed it that far but she was raging.

"How dare you. How dare you speak to me like that!" She retaliated as she turned around and took a step forward as though she were going to walk back over to Rita, but thought better of it.

"It's true though. You treat everyone in this department like crap…"

"Well you know where the door is don't you. Tell you what, if you hate it this much resign, resign before I am forced to sack you" Connie hissed before once again turning and marching off into the Ed.

"Connie…"

"I expect to see your resignation letter on my desk before the end of the day" Connie called back before disappearing from sight leaving Rita in the freezing cold alone.
