CH. 34 After
Now, after three centuries, Death was asked to gather the other three for a special mission.
"The Black Rider is already here," the stones faces said as Fury walked into the court.
"Ready to go?" she asked as he gave a nod. A gate opened to reveal mountains. They stepped through and immediately felt the low air and high pressure of this place.
"War!" they yelled and looked around his home, but he wasn't there. A few moments later, Ruin came to them, rose to his back legs and turned his neck back, motioning them to follow. The two did so and when they arrived, they saw War sitting under a waterfall, eyes closed and meditating.
"War!" they called again and the brother opened one of his eyes. An eyebrow was raised as he understood what it meant and got ready.
"So, only he's left now..." Death muttered as a portal opened, showing only the desert.
"How do we plan to find him?" Fury asked, not sure where to even start.
"We could try his house," War suggested as they mounted their hoses and rode into the gate.
Once on the other side, they found themselves in front of an old shack, with shouts and yells coming out of it. They planned to find Strife's house, when they spotted a pure white horse standing in front of the shack.
"Is that...!" they all almost yelled as the recognized the horse as Conquest. They then relized where the gunner was and just then, someone came flying out of the shack with a yell: "Oi get back here!"
At that, the fourth Horseman came out, smirking until he saw his siblings. When he did, his smirk vanished and was replaced with confusion.
"Horsemen. There is only one reason we have called all four of you here," the far left stone face spoke.
"There is an enemy, which must be defeated," the far right one's inner hole lit up.
"Yet it will prove to be no easy prey," the middle one said as a portal opened.
"You call us all here to kill this powerful monster and don't even tell us about it?" Strife asked, clearly annoyed.
"There is too little we know of it! You will have to figure it out on your own," all three spoke as the lava pool let out a geyser.
They were all displeased with such little information but still – they had to do this.
They walked into the gate and once the last one passed, it closed.
Once on the other side, they saw they entered the most irritating of all worlds. They were standing on glacier while there was only water all around them. In fact, where they stood was one of the only places of solidness. The entire world is covered in water and these glaciers were the only place any air breathing being could survive. The weird thing was, this place wasn't cold. At least the air wasn't. In fact, it was warm as the sun shone on them. But the water… It was so cold even death stayed out of it.
"Nebula…" they all sighed.
"Here of all places…" Fury said in a whine.
"We can't even go back…" War's eye twitched.
"What in the nine hells can be dangerous here!" Strife shouted into the sky.
"I swear, the next time they call for me, I'll go into hiding," Death's voice was irritated.
The fact was, all of the Nephilim hated water – Fury and War the most. It's not that they couldn't swim, it was the fact that they can't fight while in the water.
Well… that was the case with the gunner and reaper. While the youngest could barely keep up float with his size, the sister sank immediately due to her bone hardness and weight.
"This one is mostly on you two…" the female said and looked at her, normal sized brothers.
The gunner murmured something in a Demon language that translates to 'Oh joy'
"Let's just find whatever is so dangerous and leave this backwater realm," the scythe user sighed.
"Strife? Care to do the honors?" he added and did a mock bow as the said brother rolled his eyes, although no one saw due to his helmet.
The White Rider focused his eyes first around him and then to see in the deep water. After about three minutes, he released the focus and turned to his siblings.
"There ain't anything around for miles. Well expect for fish, but last time I checked they had no plot to destroy any world."
The three chuckled as the female twin said: "Could they have teleported us wrong?"
"That's not likely. Maybe they just wanted to throw us in here for something we didn't do," the Red Rider said in thought.
But as he said that, they all looked at the scarf wearer.
"Oi whatever you think I did, I didn't. At least not this time," he threw his hands up in defense.
"*sigh* Well what now? Kill some fish and hope that helps?" the whip user asked a bit amused at the thought.
Just then, the ice they were standing on started shaking. It was like an earthquake, without the earth. War had lost his balance and fell. He started sliding down the slippery ice and would have fallen in the bone chilling water, had something not tied around his arm and stopped his descend.
While the other two males had good balance and evasion, the red-haired Nephilim had to dig her legs into the ice as to not fall over. And then, it just stopped. War got on his feet and looked around and as did the others. They saw no enemy, no monster no nothing. Just water and glaciers.
"E… guys?" came the voice of their long range fighter. "Not to be the giver of bad news and all… but we might want to get a new place to stand," he stated as he stared right below him.
They followed his gaze and a flash of panic came across their faces. The ice was starting to crack in the middle – fast. And standing there didn't really help.
"Where? The other glaciers are too far for us to jump," the sword swinger said and backed away from the crack.
"You'll have to swim for it," Death said and jumped right as a chunk of ice broke.
"Damn I'm so gettin' sick for this," Strife cursed his weak immune system and jumped in the water as well.
Fury and War shared a look with each other and the freezing water below. They were actually deciding of it'd be better to stay and fall than to jump. But something decided for them. And no, it wasn't the ice. It was something bigger, thinner and more hideous.
From behind them rose a see serpent. The creature had no eyes and no nose. Only a very large mouth and sharp teeth. It was a sky blue color as it roared at the Horsemen. The two immediately jumped for it before the serpent destroyed the glacier. They managed to jump far enough so no chunks would hit them, but the next solid place to stand was still far away. The hooded male managed to swim a bit while Fury took a deep breath before sinking.
Only then did she see how huge the amphibian really was. She couldn't even see it as a whole as its long body disappeared in the dark deeps. She looked in shock while putting a hand over her mouth to keep the air in. And then, two hands grabbed her by the arm pits and pulled her out of the water. She started coughing as she saw Strife and Death taking deep breaths and War clearing his throat.
"A little warning could have been nice, Strife" he muttered and rubbed her hands on her arms to get a bit warmer.
"It m-must have s-slipped my m-mind while I w-was s-swimming in the i-ice ocean! C-Can we j-just leave this f-frozen h-hell?" her twin said, his teeth chattering as he spoke and hugged himself to keep warm.
"We need to kill that thing before that," the eldest one said and glared at the monster.
"C-can you put a s-shirt on? I get c-cold just l-looking at you."
"Come on Strife. It's not that cold," the youngest said and patted his brother on the back.
"Yea f-for you! You look so w-warm," he whined.
"How do we go around this? We can't fight it in the water," the female twin asked and looked at the raven haired male.
"Why don't we use 'Jumper' formation?" Death's smirk could not be hidden even with his mask.
"How about NO!" the gunner called but was a bit late as the other two smirked.
He then muttered something in Demon again, meaning 'Why do you hate me...'
"Hey you over grown worm! Over here!" the Horsewoman shouted at the serpent.
She was standing on the same glacier, yet one of her brothers was not with her. But that the monster didn't care. It immediately charged at her, completely unaware of the figure standing on a piece of ice near it.
The figure jumped in the air, landed on its back and dug his weapons into its back so he wouldn't fall off. The amphibian roared in pain and whipped around to try and bite the attacker off, but it didn't work.
Instead, Fury used this opportunity and took out her whip. She hurled it at the beats mouth and wrapped it around one of its teeth. She then pulled the whip down with all her strength and forced the serpent's head to follow.
"This is like riding a horse," Death called when he saw the plan taking action.
"Don't let Despair hear that," she smirked and yelled: "War now!"
Now, from behind the said Nephilim looked at his brother and asked: "Ready?"
"Nope," he said in a dull tone, knowing it wouldn't change a thing.
War then grabbed the smaller Horseman by his arms and started spinning. After about three seconds, he let go and the gunner was sent flying right into the serpent's mouth.
At that, both Fury and Death released the monster and waited for their brother to finish. As to finish what, it wasn't pretty. When he was thrown into the mouth, he had brought out both guns and started shooting.
The sea being started shrieking in pain and twisted its body, yet that didn't stop the firing. All in all, it took a poor minute for the beast to finally fall into the water. It floated there unmoving. And when it stopped dead, a hole was created from the inside out and a helmet head popped out.
Then the rest of his body, but it was covered in slime and something he had no idea what was.
"And here you didn't want to do it," Fury laughed and jumped on the dead serpent.
"What makes you say I like being covered in … whatever this is?" he took off his helmet and glared at his twin.
"Well it was a dirty job but someone had to do it," War chuckled as he joined them.
"Oh well maybe you'd like to do it instead of me!"
"Love to, but who'd throw me? You're the only one small enough," the Red Rider smirked.
"What about him! He's the same size as me!" he pointed to his elder brother who said: "Well true, but you wouldn't be able to do my part."
So this the final one... Don't now if I should be happy or sad... What about you guys?
Anyway, I really! appreciate all the good reviews and everyone that read it and supported me. You guys rule! xD
