Chapter 37

Falling

I flew on top of Flygon as the sun disappeared over the horizon with a gentle glow and there are only a few swallows left in the sky. They pirouette like will-o'-the-wisps on valium, their scimitar wings slashing the air as they go. The small white bird-like Pokémon with an orange beak and long, thin wings with blue stripes (I think they were called Wingull if I remember correctly) were squawking and squabbling in the air at each other, their raucous cries loud and brash in the faltering light.

It was a pretty sight to see, if it weren't for the annoying birds that kept on squawking and squabbling nonstop. But that all ended so soon when the sound of blade overcame the squawking from the Wingull and made Flygon turn around to see a helicopter coming our way. My eyes narrowed, seeing a strange symbol of a black and white shield with a blue upper case P over a blue lower case z and it was coming this way fast.

"Flygon turn around, speed up and trying to get away," I said, clutching onto a now awake Snivy who was starting to freak out.

"What's going on?!" Snivy shouted as Flygon lowered his neck and took off in a burst of speed but the strange black helicopter was still chasing us.

I clutched Snivy to my chest as Flygon to on more speed, my head was down so the wind wouldn't catch my breath and whispered, "I don't know Snivy but we are getting away from them. I will not let anything happen to any of my friends."

"Luna..." I could hear him mutter.

I could feel Flygon lose speed slowly and could hear the sound from the helicopter close in on us, I looked up "Flygon?"

"I'm sorry Luna... I won't last much longer," he said.

"It's fine; just try the best to get us out of here."

"Right!"

Suddenly beams of pale pink energy with a bright white energy, black and purple shadow balls and multiple light blue beams of ice came from behind up us. Flygon was able to dodge all of them but then another wave came and Flygon was able to invade them all but then multiple light blue beams came again and was able to his Flygon's wing. Flygon abruptly stop flying and the impact from the Ice Beam attack knocked me away from Flygon's back and fall towards the see with Snivy in my arms.

"Flygon! I'm sorry," I yelled, quickly taking out his pokeball and called him back into it before stuffing it in the bag. I held Snivy close to me as he held back just as tightly and closed my eye, waiting for impact. But from the lack of air from falling- about 60, give or take- I could feel myself slipping from the world until I splashed into the water.

"Gah!" I felt my air slip from me and my grip on Snivy loosen. No, I didn't want to let go of Snivy! I reached my hand slowly towards his unconscious form, feeling one of his leafy limbs before falling into a black pit of nothingness.

"Mama... Mama!" I said, trying to gain the Pokémon's attention but she was too busy playing with the toys she always had and brought from the castle with some of the other Pokémon children. I kept on calling her until finally I got her attention.

"What is it Luna?"

"Can I come play with everyone?" I asked, tilting my head with hope appearing in my heart. I know the other Pokémon didn't like me, except for a few but they only talked to me for so long before their mama or papa came by and took them away.

"I'm sorry Luna but..." Mama began a sad look in her eyes.

I couldn't hear the rest of what she had to say as that hope I had shattered. It was always like this, I would ask Mama to play with the other but she said no and when she did come to play with me, it was short as others would gain her attention but it was nice for Mama to even come and play with me. I nodded to whatever she had to say and walked away with my head bent down in sadness.

She even suggested that I go see what Lucario was doing. How could I? He hated me; no matter what I did he hated me. I asked why every chance I get but he never answered me, just ignore me.

I sighed as I curled up, my hands locked around my legs and my head resting on my knees, as I kept my eyes from seeing anything, in my spot on a ledge overlooking the forest that surround the Tree of Beginning. I always came here since I first found it when I came here whenever I felt lonely or something else. I looked up at the full moon with sadness.

"Why does it have to be like this all the time?" I asked up to the huge rock in the sky. It just sat there in all its glory with small twinkling dots called stars around it. I sighed once more, standing up and walked over the edge of the ledge and felt the wind nip my pale skin of my small body. I couldn't help but wonder over to it and take a deep breath to calm myself down. Taking another step forward, my heart sped up with no ground under my one foot while the other was and took another step calmly until I felt something grab the back of my white long shirt- I used it as a dress since it went past my knees- and was pulled up. Then I was thrown backwards onto my butt.

"Ow..." I whimpered before glaring up at the one to threw me on my butt, "What the heck was that for?!" It was then I got a better look at who did it- a Pokémon. It was an orange, male insectoid Pokémon. He had a round body with a white underside and four stumpy legs and had a proportionally large head, small weird looking eyes, and a zigzagging mouth. It was a small Trapinch.

"Yo-you were go-going to fa-fall," he stuttered out, looking down at the ground the best he could with that large head of his.

"But why save me? You must have heard about me! The human," I mocked in a high-pitched voice. "Didn't your parents tell you to stay away from me?"

"Ye-yes but I don't kn-know why I have t-to. Wh-what's the reason why I-I have to stay a-away?"

"Because I dangerous for the others! These are Pokémon who hate humans! They are all the same," I sneered at the male Trapinch.

"No they are not! I-I-I mean that... not all P-Pokémon here ha-hate humans. I know th-that I don't," he said before stuttering once more.

"Che..." I looked away from the orange Pokémon and stood up, brushing away the dirt that from the back of my long whist shirt. "You didn't need to save me, you know..." I mumble. "Who are you anyway little bug?"

"I'm not little!" He yelled, "My name is Trapinch."

"Well then Trapinch," I sneered at him when I said his name, "You better stay away from me if you know what's good for you." Then I walked off to find somewhere else to be alone. I needed to find another place where I could go now since that blasted Trapinch found my other hiding place. I walked back to my room, not seeing where I was going and stepped into a room with crystals ranging from sizes small and thin to large and thick. I walked around the large pile of crystals in the middle, staring at it in awe. It was so pretty.

The crystals glowed and pulsed like it was alive, I think this was the heart from what it looked like from Mama's bed time stories. Looking at the crystals in awe, a beeping noise made me look to my left to see three Pokémon. A large golem made of brown rocks with has an orange pattern on its face that resembles a capital letter "H". It has long arms with jutting shoulders and club-like hands, its legs are short in comparison to its body. There is a line of rocky spines running down its back.

Next to it was a large golem composed of ice that resembled a crystal of sorts. Its face has an unusual pattern consisting of seven yellow dots in a "+" formation. It has four spikes on its back. Its legs are conical and it balances its entire body on those two points. There are three fingers on each of its cylindrical arms and was floating in the air.

In front of the two golems was one other with its top-half spherical and gray with a black stripe running down its "face". Its face consists of seven dots in a hexagon formation. It has black arms with three fingers each and cylindrical legs.

It was the three legendary golems used to refer to the trio of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Mama told me about them, that I was to stay away from them no matter what. They attacked whatever intruder invaded the tree no matter the reason. All three golems were standing, except Regice as it was floating, there at the entrance from where I came in. I backed away in fright when they took a step forward. I had to get away and fast.

The braille pattern on Regirock's, Registeel's, and Regice's face glows orange as an orange ball appears in front of them each. They then fired in union an orange beam from the ball at me. I narrowly missed the attack, ducking behind some crystals. The attack broke some crystals that were behind me.

I really, really needed to get out of there. Tip toeing, I peeked on the other side of the group of crystals I was hiding behind to see the trio golem step away from the entrance and made a break for it. I was able to get out but was seen by the three Pokémon and chased after me. I ran as fast as I could, trying to get away but they were not on my trail. Soon I was back on the ledge where the Trapinch was still there.

Trapinch turned around, when he heard me run outside and getting startled, "Wh-what happened?! Wh-why are you ou-out of breath?"

I caught my breath but couldn't say a thing when a beeping noise came from behind. I whipped around to the all three Pokémon were there.

"OH COME ON!" I yelled when all three fired another orange beam in union from an orange ball. I stood in front of the scared Trapinch; I knew I couldn't let him get hurt. He had nothing to do with this. I closed my eyes as I crossed my arms in front of me while standing in front of the Pokémon. But the attack never came as a bright light green surround me Trapinch and a green force field appears around us, blocking us from the energy beam attack.

"Wh-what?!" Trapinch stuttered up at the same time when the braille pattern on Regirock's, Registeel's, and Regice's when they face each other but it was too late when the impact from the attack blasted me back.

"Ah..." I said when I was blasted back and into the air. I stuck out my hand to try to grab the tip of the ledge but couldn't make, even if I was just mean inches away from it. So I fell, facing upward in to the full moon. It seemed so much bigger now as I reached my hand out to it. I wanted to touch it so badly and closed my eyes, wishing as hard as I could to do so. But...

"Luna!" A voice called out, making my eyes snap open to see the one Pokémon I never expected to see- Lucario.

"Lu-lucario?!" I said in surprise as he stuck out his hand... err, paw for me to take. I shook my head, keeping my hands against my chest.

"Stop being stubborn and grab on," he growled out.

"NO!" I shouted back at him.

"Just grab on to it Luna!"

"NO!" I shouted once more to him. I didn't need his help now nor did I need it before. Plus he's never been nice to me since I been here. None what's so ever. So, why now? Why was he coming to my rescue now of all times? Didn't he want me gone like the others? I only just hope that little Trapinch was safe. If he got hurt in any way I would come back from the dead and haunt all those damn Pokémon. Maybe... I could have even made a friend for once... maybe...

I closed my eyes slowly; ready to reach the ground and either get hurt really, really, really badly or die...

"LUNA!"

Without moving a muscle, my eyes suddenly snapped open and I found myself breathing short, heavy breaths and broken out in a light sweat. My hand was outstretched in the air, reaching out to nothing. I gave a heavy sigh, slowly lowering my arm to my side before realizing I was in an unfamiliar room that was dark as it was night time. It was calm and all I could hear was the pounding of my heart. I turned my head slowly to see it was a normal room with a dresser, nightstand as well as anything else a normal room had. The blankets were white and when I looked to the left was Snivy. My bag

I smiled down at him, petting him gently so he wouldn't wake up. Then I stood up slowly with the blanket on me as I noticed I was only wearing a black night shirt that reached just above my knees and wrapped it around my body and walked to the door, opening it then closing it behind me without a sound. I walked in the hallways until I came upon a window and looked outside.

I saw it was nighttime, the moon was out behind some clouds along with the stars around it. A forest surround the area and I could see the ocean a small bit like a blue line. I wonder how long I was out... But the real question was… Where the heck was I?

I continued to walk forward when suddenly steps sounded the hallway and turned around when a male voice spoke, "I see you are awake Miss. Luna."

My eyes widen upon seeing who it was, "N..."

"Yes Luna," he responded. The man was wearing a simple white shirt that went to his hips and simple gray pants; his cube thing was hanging around his neck. N smiled down at me as he walked closer but I took a step back

"Why am I here? Where am I?" I questioned, my hand out stretched to my side. I looked up at him, still smiling down at me. What in grans name was wrong with him?! But... why was he here?

"You were being chased from what I saw, you fell into the ocean but I was able to save you and your friends before anything else could happen to you. All that matters now is that you are safe," he stated as he took a bit of my white hair and twirled it around in his forefinger and his thumb.

"Then tell me where I am," I said once more, taking a step back away from N so he would stop messing with my hair. It was weird.

"You are in a safe house in the Reversal Mountain, a mountain located in eastern Unova. It is connected to Undella Town from the east and to Lentimas Town from the west."

"But then-"

I raised his hand, silencing me from asking anymore questions, "No more, you need to rest Luna. Come, I will take you back to your room and in the morning I will answer any more questions to best of my ability." That was when N turned; taking my hand and leading me back to the room where I came out of before.

"I will see you in the morning, Luna," was all he said and walked off after pushing me inside the room and closing the door and walked off. I held my ear to the door to listen to his footsteps get lighter and lighter until they were no more.

"Luna..." a sleepy Snivy said when I sat on the bed. I must have awakened him when I came back in.

"It's alright Snivy I'm here. Just go back to sleep and in the morning we will be getting our answers soon enough," I said with a small smile. He gave a nod and laid back down next to me, I curled up on the bed while I was talking.

"Luna..."

"Yes Snivy?"

"Are we trapped here?"

"I don't know Snivy, I don't know," I muttered, curling right next to Snivy and closed my eyes. I really didn't know what to do now... I fell into a restless sleep.

In the morning, I stared out the window of my room and watched the sunrise brighten up the sky. Snivy was still sounding asleep, but I on the other hand couldn't sleep at all last night. Not after what happened with N- I had so many questions to ask him but would he actually answer them?

I wasn't sure...

Maybe I should take this time to escape or something like that... I don't know...

It was an hour later that someone knocked on the door, Snivy was awake and not happy at all. I didn't say a peep as I pulled my bag onto my shoulder. The knocking came again. I decided on what I was going to do next...

"Luna is you alright? Did I wake you?" N asked from behind to door. I still didn't utter a word as I made Snivy stay quiet and in place where he was on the bed. I tip-toed to the window, opening it up and letting in cool breeze. I sighed, knowing that it was a long way down if I wanted to jump but I did have another way to get out.

"Luna?" N questioned again with another knock.

Oh no... I just remember that N was still there. I motion Snivy to come into my arms, the said Pokémon jumped into them and was held with one as the other pulled out a small red and white pokeball that expanded on the touch. I called out Charizard outside the window; he wouldn't be able to fit through it if I called him inside the room. I couldn't call out Flygon, not yet. Not after what just happened for I don't know how long ago.

"Luna! You're alright!" Charizard said with worry evident in his voice. I shushed him but it was kinda too late as N came into the room right as I jumped onto Charizard's back.

"Luna, what are you doing!?" N asked, his head stuck out the window as he looked at me. I asked Charizard to turn around so I could see the older man's face.

"What does it look like to you? I'm leaving," I said as Charizard back away slowly from the supposed safe house and from N.

N shook his head, "You can't leave yet."

"Sorry N but I am and that's final!"

"Even if it means you won't find out about your past?"

Charizard froze upon hearing that, the Pokémon knew what the man was talking about. I was the one who told him after all, I trusted Charizard with my life and he did as well with me.

"What the hell do you know about me and my past?! I'll tell you- Nothing, nothing at all!"

"Luna waits! Don't leave!" He yelled after me as Charizard flew off and leaving everything behind. As we flew off, I looked at N as he grew smaller and smaller until the safe house was no more.

I forward once more, we were over the ocean again. "Sorry N," I muttered. Snivy placed a leafy limb on my arm, giving me a worried look. "I'm fine Snivy... just confused about everything..."

We were heading back to Cynthia villa. I just hope they aren't that worried about me... But why would N do this to me?

Charizard flew down on the ground after a few hours went by in silence. I was to rise my hand up in time before Charizard spoke, "I don't want to talk about it or anything else. Later about it, okay?"

"If that is what you want Luna but we will be talking about it rather you like it or not!" Charizard said; I responded with a small nod.

"I will Charizard. See you later, okay?"

"Okay," he said as I called him back into his red and white pokeball. I turned around to look down at Snivy as I picked him and walked to where Cynthia villa was. Charizard came in close to where the house was and soon the sun would be setting, judging from the angle of where it was now I would say in about three hours at most. I came to the villa and knocked on the front door.
