Chapter 36
As Beth sat against the wall, desperate to bring her friend back, she felt more anger than she's ever felt before. She saw red in her blurry vision from the tears as she stood, ready to destroy Terminus and the people in it once and for all.
Beth stood, not bothering to wipe the tears or blood off of her face as she marched over to Carol. She yanked the pistol Carol had been holding. She also grabbed Carol's knife that was on the ground and snatched the smaller one out of Carol's stomach.
After checking the ammo in the gun, she tucked the two knives in her pockets and went out of the building, going around it to go to the back side. On the other side of the brick walls was another soldier, holding his assault rifle to his chest.
When his back was turned, Beth sneaked up behind him and jumped on his back, wrapping her arms around his throat as tight as she could and dug her heels in the man's abdomen. After more struggling on the man's part, his face turning purple, he dropped to the ground. Beth jumped off of him as quick as she could so she didn't go down with him.
She grabbed the assault rifle from his hands and ran up to the last wall of the building. This time, two men were there. Beth quickly took both of them out with her pistol, only seeing and thinking rage.
She didn't bother to take their weapons- they were the same. But only when she ran by their limp bodies did she notice the grenade slowly coming out of one of their pockets. With a split second of hesitation, Beth leaned down and ripped the bomb out of his camoflauge jacket pocket.
Beth leaned against the side of the corner of the wall and peeked around the edge to see her group. None of them were down, which was the best news. The bad new was that they were a lot more people against them than with them.
Without any second thoughts about the situation, Beth aimed her rifle at a woman that was barely paying any attention to the situation. Many dead bodies were on the ground, and she would join them.
After Beth had taken that one out, a surprised face was turned her way. A man was now looking at her with a shocked face as he stared down at the woman she had just killed. Blood seeped out of her neck wound and soaked into the ground. The man let out a strangled sound as Beth kept shooting, not noticing the stranger.
The man raised his gun, now focusing on the determined young adult by the wall. His finger was right above the trigger when an arrow flew threw the stacked chairs and went through the stranger's ear.
Daryl gripped his crossbow tight in his hand as he slung the empty gun over his shoulder and raced over to Beth, Rick and Michonne following close behind. They dodged bullets and ran their fastest to the small blonde hovering around the wall. When she noticed the three, she sank back around the side.
Daryl stood next to her, sticking to the wall like glue. He wanted to grab her and hug her and never let her go again. "You're okay," he breathed. "Yeah. My leg is broken, but I'm good." And Tyreese was just murdered by Carol, who I killed. Daryl nodded back at her.
Rick looked at Beth with rings around his eyes. "Where's Judith?
Beth looked back at him with just as much worry. "I don't know. She was with Carol and Tyreese, but…" She trailed off, not wanting to continue the conversation again.
Daryl glanced at the bodies on the ground as Beth reached her arm around the corner and looked, then fired the pistol. When she stuck back to the wall, two bullets louder than the ones before sounded.
Beth froze, then her mouth open in a silent scream as she fell to the ground in excruciating pain. Daryl kneeled down beside her to see two bullet holes in her torso. One in the middle of her chest, and one in her sides.
Her breaths came out in sharp gasps as blood easily flowed out of the wounds. Daryl's head whipped around to see Gareth with a smug look on his face as he held a revolver in one of his hands that had lowered to his side. When he saw Daryl's expression, he fired the gun again.
Daryl prepared himself for the pain, but when it didn't come he stood and made his way over to Gareth. Gareth dug into his pocket for more ammo, but when he didn't come up with anything, it was too late.
Daryl had already pulled his dagger out as he was going towards Gareth. As soon as he got to him, he grabbed a fistfull of his shirt and swiped the knife across Gareth's neck, slitting his throat and killing him immediately.
After Gareth fell to the ground, dead, Daryl turned back to Rick, Michonne, and the dying girl lying on the concrete.
