A/N: Hi! Thank you all for your wonderful reviews. I really like hearing what you think about the story.

I did get one really nasty one though from a "Guest" who supposedly works with addicts and their families. Let me just say that I feel really sorry for those people, especially if this "Guest" speaks to them the way they spoke to me.

They called me a few names and told me I should be ashamed of myself. They also accused me of trying to be a know-it-all about addicts.

Which I'm not, by the way. In fact, I know very little about the subject. I'm simply going off of what I learned in health classes from when I was in school, info on the internet, and from interacting with my OWN family members who have used in the past, or knew someone who did.

Anyway, even though I was slightly offended by this person's attitude, I also found it kind of funny and ironic, because they were basically being a BULLY. :P

Chapter 37 - Fight

EPOV

Beep...Beep...Beep

I groaned as I rolled over and hit the 'off' button on my alarm clock.

I sat up and then got up and walked into the bathroom to do my business. Once that need was taken care of, I walked over to the sink to wash my hands and as I did so, I caught my own reflection in the mirror that hung above it.

To say I looked like shit was an understatement. I looked more like the living dead.

I'm naturally pale, but this morning it seems like I'm even more so than usual. I also have dark bags under my once vibrant green eyes from my lack of sleep last night.

I sighed deeply and then turned around and pulled my boxers off, and stepped into the shower.

While the warm spray of the water ran over me, I began to think of the night before.

While the night didn't go quite as planned, at least Bella and I finally got around to talking about the past. At least a little bit anyways. There were still some things I wanted to explain to her, that I wanted her to know, but I could understand that she had reached her limit for the time being.

What she had learned was a lot to take in.

And I'll admit, she actually handled it a lot better than I thought she would.

Sure, she got angry, and even cried a bit, but at least she stayed and talked with me. Which was good.

When I had previously imagined us having this conversation, it always ended with Bella running away and never speaking to me again, but thankfully, that didn't turn out to be the case.

She just asked for some space and time to process things. And although it pains me to do that, I would.

I was willing to give her anything she wanted.

Which is partially why I look like shit right now. I spent a good part of the night compiling a list of potential student tutors for her.

I knew that helping James Hunter was very important to her, so I know that she'll be happy to get that list this morning. And right now, she can use all the happiness she can get.

I finished showering, and got dried off and dressed, and then I headed down to my kitchen for some much needed coffee and a bowl of cereal.

After I finished my breakfast, I put my empty bowl and mug in the dishwasher, and grabbed my keys and left for work.

On the way there, I got stuck behind a slow moving logging truck, so now I was running late.

With only five minutes to go before the bell for first period started, I pulled into the parking lot of Fork's High School, only to be met with a large group of students standing in a circle, watching something.

After I had pulled into my parking space, I ran towards the group and I could hear them cheering people on, and that's when I realized what was happening.

There was a fight going on.

I pushed my way through the crowd and ran up to the two students responsible, and shouted, "Hey! Knock it off, you two!" Once they managed to stop throwing punches for a moment, I put myself in between the both of them to keep them apart.

I was disappointed to see that one of the fighters was none other than James Hunter. I didn't know who the other kid was though.

In a stern voice, I looked at them and said, "You two are coming with me." I looked up at the rest of the students who were watching, and yelled, "The rest of you get to class!"

Before we went to my office, I led them to the Nurse's office to get their injuries looked at.

James had the makings of a black eye and a split lip that was slightly bleeding, while the other kid also had a black eye forming and a bloody nose. Luckily it wasn't broken.

The nurse gave them both some ice for their faces, and then we quietly walked down to my office where I had the two of them take seats in front of my desk.

I sat down in my chair and took a good look at the unknown kid. He was about 6 feet tall, and had light brown hair, and brown eyes. He appeared to be really fit, so I assumed he played some kind of sport.

Once I was done, I got down to business. "Let's begin with an introduction, shall we? You already know who I am, and I already know Mr. Hunter, so that leaves you," I said to the kid.

The kid moved the ice pack away from his face and shyly replied, "My name is Austin Marks, sir."

"Okay," I murmured as I wrote his name down on a piece of paper. I looked up at James and Austin, and asked, "So, what's going on? Mr. Hunter, how about you go first?"

James put his ice pack down and glared at Austin. "This fucker kept hitting on my girlfriend, even after she told him to leave her alone and it pissed me off, so I shoved him away from her and then he punched me, so I punched him back," he seethed. "I was defending my girl, and myself."

I gave James a hard look, and replied, "Watch your language!" Then I looked at Austin, and asked, "Mr. Marks, is this true?"

He nodded his head and looked at the floor as he answered, "Yeah."

I sighed. "Alright. First of all, fighting is not allowed, no matter what the circumstance, so because of that, both of your parents are going to be given a call. Secondly, you're both getting detentions."

I looked at James first. "Mr. Hunter, if something like this happens again, I want you or your girlfriend to come to me first. Mr. Marks, I suggest that if a girl tells you to leave her alone, you do so, and if I hear otherwise, I will personally give Chief Swan a call and have him come down here to give you a lecture about harrassment. Got it?"

"Yes, sir," they both said at the same time.

"Good. Just give me a minute to write out your detention slips, and you can both be on your way." I grabbed the bright pink slips of paper. "I really hope I don't see you two in here again," I said as I handed them over.

"Okay," answered Austin.

James just smirked at me and replied, "I'm not making any promises just yet."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Get to class!

Once they were gone, I dropped my head down onto my desk and closed my eyes.

"What a wonderful start to the day," I said sarcastically to myself.

A/N: I know the fight wasn't much, but in my defense, at my school the majority of fights I witnessed were between girls, so there was just a lot of hair pulling and screaming.

Also, this is really random, but I watched Twilight on tv the other night, and I noticed when Bella was in the hospital, Carlisle called the nurse, "Jackie". I never noticed that before.

If you're a fan of Peter Facinelli, you'll know why that's funny. LOL. :)

See you soon!
