Emmett

I stared at Rosalie as she ate the last cinnamon roll. I wanted to ask if she was going to eat the rest of the stuff, but I was afraid to interrupt her. She looked like she was in heaven or something. When she finished, I gave her another second before grabbing the plate and eating the rest of the food. I felt like I hadn't eaten in… a hundred years. I know that's probably not how this worked, but that's how I felt. I grabbed the carton of orange juice and started drinking from it.

"Emmett! Share!" I set the carton down and looked at Rosalie. Share what?

That's when I noticed the two glasses. I guess I was supposed to pour it. "Oh, sorry." I filled up one glass, and then continued drinking the rest.

I heard Rosalie sigh. "It's fine." She grabbed a bottle of water and started drinking it.

When I finished, I sat the carton down again and looked around. I needed to do something. I didn't care about injuries. I was healed enough as far as I was concerned. "Babe, let's go somewhere."

She smiled, but quickly frowned. "Carlisle won't let us leave."

"I don't care. I'm leaving. He can't keep us here forever, and like he said, they can't handle us here, so we might as well go. Let's get a hotel or something so we can fuck in peace."

Rosalie smiled again, giving me a quick kiss. "How are we getting out?"

"Walking, I guess. But… I guess we should pack something first." I took her hand and walked her to our bedroom. I pulled the suitcase down from the shelf and started shoving clothes into it. Rosalie came over and shoved me aside, fixing the clothes, organizing what went into the bag.

It was then that Carlisle walked in. "What are you doing?"

"We're gonna find a hotel or something. We figured it would be easier to get out of your way so Jasper can be comfortable here. We're not helping."

Carlisle shook his head. "No, we're leaving. We don't know who did this to you and we don't want to know. I am going to alert the Volturi to strange activity here and then we need to get as far away as possible. The last thing we need is the Volturi finding out, but we also don't need that vampire, or vampires, to find us."

Rosalie quickly looked at Carlisle "Do you think it is wise getting the Volturi involved?"

Carlisle looked down, and then nodded. "I think it's the best choice we have right now."

I had never seen Carlisle look so conflicted. It wouldn't end well for the Volturi to find out about us, but at the same time, Carlisle was right. That vampire can't keep running around with this power. "I… I guess we'll keep packing."

Carlisle walked out. He looked like he had a lot on his mind, and he probably did. The Volturi would kill us if they found out about this. I'd do whatever it took to make sure Rosalie didn't get hurt. Maybe Carlisle wouldn't even go through with the idea. I guess we just had to wait. We had to trust him, which I did. I just wasn't sure about Rosalie.
