Here we are people the battle chapter! Thank you to everybody who patiently wait for me to to get this one out, it is the longest chapter I have ever written for a fanfiction so I hope you enjoy. I debated splitting it but decided not to and next week there will be an epilogue to round things off. So, enjoy!

Thank you to everybody who have faved this ever since I posted it back in January and are still doing so. Thx for the reviews and favs, they still mean a lot and have motivated me to get this far and finish this story no matter how long it's take to write this!

It was the morning of the battle and when Brittany woke up she found an empty bed. Sitting up she rubbed her eyes and yawned, spotting Santana sat in front of their balcony doors meditating, her sword placed in front of her along with her daggers along with some of her favourite healing candles. She knew that she didn't want to disturb her wife but she wanted to make the most of the morning while they still could.

"San?" She called out quietly.

"Yeah?" The Latina replied back softly not even making to move front her calm position on the floor.

"What are you doing?"

"Preparing myself."

The blonde glanced over at the clock on the bedside table. "But it's five a.m."

"I know"

Brittany got up and padded over to her, kissing her on the top of the head. "When do we have to leave?"

"Two hours"

The blonde said nothing as she stood up, grabbing Santana by the arm and pulling her back towards their bed clad in nothing but a pair of the Latina's boxers and an oversized t-shirt.

"Britt, what are you doing?"

"Can't you at least spend some time cuddling with me? We don't have to get up for at least another hour"

"But-"

"Please?"

One look at her and Santana sighed in defeat. "Fine."

The blonde squealed as she pulled her into the bed with her, the two of them making themselves comfortable. Once Santana was propped up against the pillows Brittany happily curled up next to her, the blonde snuggling into her warmth and resting her head in the crook of her neck as memories of the previous night flooded into her mind.

"What are you thinking about?" Santana asked, her finger tracing Brittany's shoulder under the sleeve of her shirt.

"Last night" She replied as she placed a kiss to the older vampire's pulse point.

Santana smiled in response, she too remembering the events of the night before.

"All good I assume?"

Brittany nodded. "Definitely." A few moments later she pulled away to study her face before leaning in and pressing their lips together in a soft kiss, her fingers trailing down and reaching up under Santana's wife-beater to trace her perfectly sculpted abs.

When they pulled apart Santana reached up to brush a stray strand of hair out of Brittany's face, a small smile playing across her lips. "So beautiful" She whispered, her hand sliding around to the back of her head and pulling it close enough to place a comforting kiss on her forehead.

Brittany let herself fall into the embrace and melted into the warmth of the Latina. A few quiet moments later she pulled away. "I'm gonna go and get Honey!"

Before Santana could respond Brittany had already jumped out of bed and was running down the stairs. The Latina just sighed as she let her head fall back against the headboard. The sun would be up in about two hours and she really didn't want to be left alone with her thoughts, not with what was coming. Luckily she didn't have to wait too long before Brittany re-entered the room with their daughter in her arms.

"Look who it is Honey Bee! It's mami!"

Santana smiled at the use of 'mami' and watched as Honey's face lit up, the little girl immediately searching for the woman in question.

"Honey, niña. Sobre su."

She immediately turned towards the familiar voice and gurgled at the soft and smooth tone of her mother's Spanish. Brittany started padding towards the bed as Honey reached her arms out, placing her on the edge of the bed and watching as the toddler eagerly crawled towards her other mother.

Santana grinned as Honey crawled on top of her and lifted her up. Honey giggled as Santana lifted her up and down, kissing her face every time. Brittany chuckled at the interaction and laid down next to her wife, watching as Honey tried to grab her mother's face.

She giggled loudly when Santana let her catch her, the Latina puffing up her cheeks and blowing a raspberry. When their laughter died down Santana let the little girl sit on her stomach, Honey playing with her mother's rosary that she had been wearing whilst meditating.

"You like it baby girl?" She asked watching as Honey fingered the black metal in her small hands. "Here," She removed her hands from where they were holding the little girl and reached up towards her neck, pulling off the rosary before placing it around her daughter's neck. Not caring that it looked extremely big on her the Latina lent forward to place a kiss to her forehead. "I love you mija" She whispered against her soft skin, not willing to pull away for anything.

They were broken out of their quiet moment when they heard a knock on the door downstairs. Brittany instantly got up and headed out of the room. A few moments later she re-appeared and stood in the doorway.

"It's Akinori. He says that he wants to take her so that we can get ready"

Santana nodded in understanding and slid out of the bed, Honey in her arms. She made her way over to her wife and handed their daughter to the blonde. When she made to remove the rosary from around her neck the little girl whimpered. Santana glanced at her wife who shrugged and then back down at their daughter.

"You wanna keep it on baby girl?" She got her answer in the form of Honey visibly clenching the necklace tighter in her hands. "Ok" She smiled, leaning forward and placing a kiss to the top of her head. "Keep it safe, ok mija?"

Brittany smiled and pressed a kiss to her wife's lips before heading down the stairs, Santana following. They were met at the door by a smiling Akinori and once they had handed her to him they promised to say goodbye one last time before they left.

The couple then trailed back upstairs and Santana moved back to the floor to meditate once more. Brittany joined her as they let themselves bask in the silence that laid heavy over the both of them. Ten minutes in Brittany couldn't help herself as her hand reached out, Santana's finding hers and intertwining their fingers. Smile's tugged at their lips as they fell back into their meditations, their minds calming down and focusing on each other. The more they were in tune with one other the better.

Keeping the calm in tact between them Brittany stood up silently and walked over to the corner of the room while Santana moved from sitting with her legs crossed until she was kneeling. Brittany came back with a box and proceeded to place it down beside her wife, kneeling down behind her.

Santana sat still as she felt the blonde's hands trail down her back before hooking on the bottom of her wife-beater. She lifted up slowly, pulling it over her head and carefully placing it down on the side of Santana that was empty. Her hands ran along tanned skin, her fingers tracing the large scars that adorned her wife's back along with many smaller less noticeable ones. Each one told a different story, many that Brittany didn't know. She pressed her lips softly to each one, Santana feeling every touch with extreme clarity. She knew that one day she would have to share where every one came from but for now she was happy to just let Brittany wonder. They were stories for another day, another time when things weren't so crazy.

Brittany proceeded to kiss each tattoo as well, her lips brushing over ink that was much older than she could ever imagine. Santana's heritage was embedded in her skin for the rest of eternity in the form of a cross on her lower back, Brittany tracing the simple design that looked like it held all the answers to her wife's life and family before she became a vampire. As her lips grazed softly over the scar that had nearly killed the love of her life she continued up until she reached the tattoo that was the other half of her own. Santana visibly shivered as she felt kisses pressed to their physical link to each other, a warm feeling forming deep within her body at the action.

Brittany's hands slid soothingly around her waist until they rested on her abs, pressing herself up against Santana's bare back as she rested her ear over the tiger tattoo, enjoying the sounds of her wife's body and the movement of her blood just beneath her skin. A few silent moments later when Brittany kissed her next, this time on the shoulder above her koi tattoo, she felt the slight graze of the blonde's fangs.

She heard the blonde take in a deep breath before kissing her way back across her shoulder to the base of her neck. A series of soft kisses were pressed to her matching tattoo of their daughters name before the hands around her waist slowly receded. Brittany reached into the box and pulled out a pair of black slim fitting black cargo pants. She handed them to Santana and watched as the Latina stood up and slid off her sweatpants, sliding on a fresh pair of boxers before putting on the pants along with a bra. When she was knelt down once more Brittany resumed what she was doing.

She reached inside the box once more and pulled out a black short-sleeved compression shirt, Santana reaching her arms up so that she could slide it on. Once it was the older vampire let her arms rest against her sides and Brittany pulled out the next item of clothing, a thin short-sleeved kimono-like top. She moved so that she was knelt in front of Santana and as she slid her wife's arms into the garment their eyes locked in silent speech, Santana communicating nothing but patience and love. Brittany couldn't help the shy smile that crossed her lips as she gracefully folded the piece of clothing that was on Santana's left over the right, keeping it together tightly as she wrapped a band around her abdomen before letting her slender hands tuck the garment into Santana's pants.

Santana then stood up and sat on the end of the bed as Brittany handed her a pair of matching black boots. Once they were secure on her feet she stood up, Brittany reaching for the last part of the outfit which consisted of a black jacket that was the same material as the pants, the design resembling a samurai's outer armour with the Kobejitsu logo embroidered on the back just below the collar. From her place in front of the Latina Brittany slowly zipped it up to the top, making sure to leave it open a little before carefully closing each popper button to the top whilst leaving the top one undone.

Santana finished things by pulling her hair up into a tight ponytail and clipped her sword sheath to the left hip via a specially made clip that attached to the belt she was wearing along with both her daggers which she clipped to each thigh with her usual harnesses.

When Brittany took a step back she smiled admiring the way the Latina looked nothing but intimidating, the whole complete image of her looking every bit like the Asian warrior she was trained to be. Santana smiled at the blonde's expression and stepped forward to place a kiss to her wife's forehead.

"Come on, let's get you changed"

It had been part of their agreement that once Brittany had fulfilled her required role as a wife to dress her wife for battle, Santana would return the favour. It wasn't required but the Latina knew that they were supposed to be equals and having Brittany dress her and not return the favour made her feel as if she was just using her, something that she never ever wanted to do. So, happily stepping out of her role as warrior and commander, she helped the blonde dress into her own clothes which were very much similar to hers except the jacket being different.

Although Santana had her weapons attached to her, she ignored them whist she tended to the task of making sure Brittany looked the part. The blonde slid out of her pyjama bottoms and pulled on her own black cargo pants, her maker then sliding on a black compression shirt that matched her own. Unlike Santana, she didn't have a kimono-like top to add next so Santana made her sit on the edge of the bed like she had done minutes before and handed the blonde a pair of black combat boots that were similar to hers.

When Brittany stood up she let Santana slide the specially made jacket onto her shoulders. Made of the same black material as their cargo pants, the only difference between them was the fact that Brittany's was much more feminine and fitted to her body shape. Two panels of material curved down towards the center from under the armpits and down towards the bottom of the jacket. Lines of stitching connected the two panels to the center and stopped at a certain point so that it looked like somewhat of a band wrapped around her waist. Two large stripes of matching black adorned each shoulder and went from the front of the armpit up and down to the back. More stitching graced the back of the piece of clothing creating two lines on each side, a large panel of material in the center separating the two. Just below the collar in the middle the Kobejitsu glyph was embroidered just like the one on her wife's jacket.

Santana smiled up at her as she slowly zipped it up and took a step back whilst Brittany clipped each of her matching blades to her waist with the same specially made clips as Santana had for her sword.

"I'm proud of you" The Latina smiled pressing another kiss to the blonde's forehead, this time using her hands to pull her wife's hips flush against her own.

As Brittany's arms slid up to wrap around her neck the blonde smiled back, moving her head inches from her wife's. "Thank you"

Santana just grinned as she connected their lips together in a passionate kiss never wanting the moment to end. Reluctantly she pulled away but made sure to keep their bodies exactly where they were by squeezing the blonde's hips with her hands. Brittany got the message let herself relax into the embrace, her eyes closing as their foreheads rested against one another.

"Britt..."

The blonde knew exactly what as about to come out of her wife's lips and tried to stop her to no avail. "San-"

"No, I need to get this out" She sighed, eyes clenching shut as took a deep breath. "If I don't I now I never will. Britt, I know we haven't been married very long, but I want my wife to know that whatever happens today I love her...with all my heart" She opened her eyes to see Brittany's still closed. "Baby, open your eyes" She smiled when the younger vampire did as she was told. "Beautiful" She whispered softly, pressing a soft kiss to Brittany's lips before continuing whilst looking straight into her eyes. "I love you. We'll make it through today. No matter what we have to do, you come first, I promise. You are my main concern. When I say that I will die for you, I mean it. I will protect you with everything I have no matter the cost because I love you."

A tear ran down Brittany's face as she looked straight back at the woman in front of her. "I love you too Santana"

Their lips met in a kiss that conveyed everything they were feeling, the two of them sharing their feelings and love for each other in a way that only they could.

Everybody was assembled on the back lawn by the pool, Santana's team plus the stronghold team. In front of them stood Safiya in the middle, Santana to her left and Holly to her right. Safiya began.

"Today we stand against my sister to prove who really is the superior race. I trust you to represent me and show exactly why we deserve to be on top. Today this war ends once and for all. Santana"

The Latina nodded and stepped forward. "Yes, today we step up and fight a war that should have ended a long time ago. I know the council kind of forced this upon us and if I had a choice I wouldn't have put you guys through it. But then again, standing here today I know someone else would have got it wrong. I know that whatever we're faced with we can solve it with ease as I have faith in you, every single vampire standing before me. Today won't be easy, I never said it would, but we have to keep our minds focused like we always do and I know we can pull through. After all that's happened to us as a team this is just another thing that we have to do. When we step on that island we're gonna show them exactly who's boss. Who's with me?!" A loud roar of cheers was heard before they calmed down allowing her to speak once again. "Before I tell you what's going to happen, Artie you said that you had something to say?"

"Yeah" He replied, walking over and standing next to her.

"Go ahead" She prompted, taking a step back.

"I was given samples of water with healing properties when Santana and Brittany returned from the temple with the blood vial. At first I made progress but with the time we had I just didn't have the equipment to quickly replicate it. While I now have them in storage I have come up with a temporary solution that should help us on the battlefield." He reached into his pocket and pulled out something. "This is an auto injector, something that helps you inject drugs unto your blood stream instantly. I re-purposed it and now it injects human blood. It's a quick fix that I came up with and it has a small amount of werewolf poison that should temporarily heal you. It's an advantage that we have to help heal ourselves whilst fighting. Just try not to get injured too much or else the countermeasure, which is the poison, won't heal you very well, if at all. We adjust extremely quickly even to small amounts of this, blocking it from hitting our blood streams but too much and it just won't work. It's better than feeding as it hits your blood stream faster. I have these in bulk and before you leave I'll hand them out to you."

"Thanks Artie" Santana smiled, watching as Artie pocketed his creation before moving to stand with the others once more. "Now, let's get down to business. Our plan is to land on the island first before anyone else. The other teams will land away from us all along the surrounding coastline. From what Safiya has told me and Akinori there is a large archway on the east side of the island from the direction we're approaching from. We're stepping foot there and once we're all off the boats the other teams will do the same. Then, with help from Safiya, we're gonna move in the direction of Cassandra. The other teams will be holding off the wolves but our main goal is to get to Cassandra and kill her before she kills Safiya and the rest of us. It's crucial that it's us that comes out on top or else she'll be unstoppable with the power she gets from killing our queen and we can say goodbye to our race completely. I want everybody to get in their cars and follow mine to the small secluded dock where our boats are. Then once we're on the water there's no turning back. Is everybody ready?" Everybody nodded. "Good, hands in the middle"

Everybody formed a circle and all put their hands in. "On the count of three" She said, looking around at everybody. "Three...two...one..."

"GO TEAM!"

Everybody cheered and clapped before starting to move towards the house, Artie heading to the med bay to gather the blood injectors. Brittany and Santana were the last to get theirs and once they were stocked they found Akinori holding Honey by the door that led out to the back yard. The couple grasped each other's hands tightly before moving over to him.

Quinn's hand unconsciously went to Rachel's stomach as they watched their best friends say goodbye to their daughter. Rachel placed her hand over her fiancée's and looked up at her. "Quinn, are you alright?"

The blonde nodded, nuzzling her nose into the brunette's shoulder. "Yeah, I think so"

"Is this about-"

Quinn tore her eyes away from her best friend and her wife and pulled away. "Yeah"

Rachel grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the car they were sharing with their best friends. They slid into the back seat and she turned to look at her lover, cupping her face with one of her hands. "What's wrong?"

The blonde nuzzled into Rachel's hand. "I'm scared" She said kissing the brunette's palm.

"Why?"

Quinn's hand found its way to her still flat stomach, rubbing with her thumb. "Our baby"

"Why?"

"Because we're taking a massive chance. I love you and I want to protect you"

"You will"

"Then why do I feel like this?"

The younger vampire smiled. "Because you're finally realizing just what your best friend went through when her wife was pregnant. It's natural Quinn and I know you'll protect me. But I'm not just a little newborn any more, and my maker isn't just anyone, she's you and I've been taught well which is something that I know won't fail me. I'm ready to do this Quinn and our baby doesn't change any of that. I will protect myself, and I'm sure Santana will too but I know you will be fighting with me. I have no doubts"

Quinn nodded and leaned forward, connecting their lips together whilst her hand stayed placed firmly over Rachel's stomach where their baby was now developing. "I love you" She rasped breathlessly as they pulled away, their foreheads resting together.

"I love you too" Rachel whispered back, pressing their lips together once more.

Santana reluctantly handed Honey over to her other mother after she squeezed her tightly one last time savouring her warmth. Brittany did the same and when she glanced up at Santana the other woman caught the meaning behind her eyes, moving forward and wrapping her arms around her family. They enjoyed the short moment before they pulled away, Brittany handing the little girl over to her adoptive grandfather.

"I love you Honey Bee. Be good for Akinori, ok?" Brittany whispered, kissing the top of her head.

"Be good baby girl. I love you mija" Santana added, Brittany hearing her voice crack as she placed a soft kiss to their daughter's forehead.

The couple then gripped hands tightly as they pulled back and turned to walk away, Honey whimpering as they turned so that they weren't facing her. Each step broke their hearts as their daughter cried, the both of them knowing that if they didn't leave now they never would.

The sight of the door closing and the loud slam of the front door was all Honey saw once her parents left.

Once the teams had been loaded up into boats, a very impressive amount, they had set out. The early morning sun beat down on them as they travelled across the water farther from their home and closer towards the wolves island.

Everything they had done had come to this and as they came closer and closer to their goal Santana couldn't help but think about all the things they'd been through to get there. It took waking up their queen, meeting her first progeny, a fight between her and Brittany, being kidnapped, seeing her father for the first time since she was human, nearly dying, discovering her and her wife's inner tiger, collecting an amulet, entering a temple to face some of the most darkest tests imaginable, facing an ancient god, a werewolf attack on many innocent people, baiting the wolves, an ancient power transfer, and finally this day where they would decide the fate of their race.

It was a lot, but after everything Santana knew she wouldn't go back and change any of it. It made her the vampire she is now, someone ready to fight for what she truly believed in. She was made for this and she was sure as hell not going to back out now, not when the rest of her race needed her.

As they passed through the cloaking barrier they knew Cassandra had felt them enter. There was no turning back now and as the island came into sight some felt a shiver run down their spines. Santana's boat was the first to reach the island, the other teams waiting for her go-ahead to dock their own boats.

Her and her small team that consisted of Safiya, Holly, Brittany, Kitty, Rachel, Quinn, Tina, and Marley, all stepped onto the rocky surface of their landing area. Various wrecks of boats littered the area, the sea splashing high enough to make where they were standing extremely slippery. Little hut's littered the cliff-side leading upwards showing them the path that they had to take. They would have landed on the side that was connected to the island itself but it was too jagged and didn't have a viable place to actually step onto let alone climb up.

Now faced with climbing up the cliff-side Santana knew it had to be done. She turned to her team, the rest of them finally joining them from the other boats. "Looks like we're going upwards. There's a small archway up this path. If we follow it I'm sure it leads inside this archway and will take us all the way to the other side and onto the actual island. Be careful and try not to slip. I don't want anybody injured before we've actually seen some action. Let's go."

Clutching her sword instinctively with her hand ready for anything she started climbing up the slippery wet path. The grass was mush, probably from all of the waves crashing up high. Just as Brittany was about to join her wife at the entrance to the small tunnel that would lead them across her instincts caught something just as it happened.

Her hand jerked out and gripped hold of Rachel's bicep, the brunette being saved from a nasty fall that wouldn't have ended well.

"Watch it Rachie, precious cargo." Brittany smiled, her hand still holding on to Rachel's bicep just in case the brunette nearly fell once again.

"How did you do that?" Rachel puffed, recovering from her near-fall.

The blonde shrugged. "I just kind of reacted. Try not to fall ok? I don't think Quinn would be too happy after the news you shared yesterday" She smiled, her eyes flickering down to her best friend's stomach and up to her face again.

"Damn right" Quinn said, coming up behind them.

Brittany watched as she placed a kiss to her fiancée's cheek before turning to her wife who was waiting patiently at the tunnel entrance. Santana held out a hand and pulled her up before entering. Lanterns were sparsely placed along the tunnel providing very little light and the air was cold. Before stepping inside completely she turned to the people following her.

"Everybody stay in pairs or groups. We don't know what's in this tunnel and it's not very well lit. There's a few lanterns but it's hard to see what's ahead in the dark patches. Move quickly but carefully."

Everybody nodded before she turned back to the dark tunnel before her. She held out her right hand, leaving her left hand free to reach for her sword if there was trouble, and waited for Brittany. Seconds later a warm and familiar hand slid into her own and their fingers automatically intertwined together and gripped tightly. She lifted the joined limbs upwards and pressed a soft kiss to the back of Brittany's hand before squeezing. She then turned back to the tunnel and began walking, Brittany following.

Eventually they came to an opening and assumed it was the end of the tunnel. Santana unclasped her hand from her wife's and jumped down first with a loud thump of her boots. She then turned back to the blonde who was standing above her and held out her hand, helping her down.

As the two of them looked around at the thick jungle before them the rest of the team slowly started streaming out of the tunnel until they were all out ready for Santana's next order.

"What are you thinking?" Quinn asked as she stepped up to Santana's unoccupied side.

"That the wolves haven't anticipated our landing and that we have the upper hand. I guess me and Akinori deciding on a quiet and safer approach paid off. T, let the other teams know that they can dock on the island. Tell them to then start moving and defend themselves whenever necessary. Everybody follow me."

Tina did as she was told and they started following their leader as she led them into the forest before them. Animals sounded in the background as they walked, tropical birds chirping and various insects communicating with each other making the forest feel alive with life going about their every day lives.

Santana felt a strange warmth run through her blood before she saw something in the distance. Everybody behind her was alerted when she reached for her sword, clutching it tightly in her hand as she carefully stepped closer. A loud growl ripped through the perfectly created silence and a few moments later a large wolf was already attacking them. The leader moved with swiftness and in a matter of moments the large creature was slumped beside her, the Latina pulling her sword out from the center of it's head.

"It's begun"

Before anybody else had time to reply three wolves had already stepped up to attack the group of intruders. Santana ran towards the one in the center, the wolf running straight towards her. Before the other wolves reached the rest of the team, the vampires watched curiously as their leader sheathed her sword, colliding with the wolf and gripping it around the neck.

Santana gracefully swung herself around until she was on it's back, the creature growling when he was disorientated. Brittany ran forwards and unsheathed both of her weapons as the other wolves were engaged by the rest of their team. Santana kept the creature beneath her occupied whilst her wife took the lead. Brittany crossed her blades across her chest and uncrossed them across the wolfs legs, the creature crying out as the silver cut deep into it's skin and burned painfully.

It growled loudly before lunging at Brittany with it's large jaw, Santana being thrown off. Brittany just caught sight of her wife hitting a tree not too far away before she herself was being flung against one just like it. Santana groaned as she pulled herself to her feet and looked up seeing the wolf closing in on the blonde. Growling she ran as fast as she could, unsheathing her sword and doing the first thing that she could. The wolf cried out in pain once more as it felt a sharp blade cutting into it's tail. It turned just in time to see Santana's hands covered in blood whilst it's tail now rested on the forest floor. Getting ready to lunge for the puny vampire it forgot all about the one beneath it, Brittany reaching up and stabbing it in both sides of its neck with her blades. The creature fell lifeless as the last puffs of air left it's lungs and Santana hurried to pull it off her wife.

"Britt, you ok?" She asked, pushing the large weight off of the blonde and offering a hand to her.

Brittany nodded as she was pulled to her feet, brushing herself off before looking at Santana. "Yeah, thank you. Is that your blood?"

"No, it's wolf. Hold on" The younger vampire watched as Santana reached into her back pocket pulling out a small rag. Once her hands were clean she looked up and smiled at her wife, pocketing the rag into the back pocket of her pants. "I'm fine" She said, pressing a kiss to Brittany's cheek before they jumped back into the action, the two of them staying close to each other the entire time.

The second wolf had been taken care of easily but the third one, a light brown colour, was proving to be difficult. Anybody who had gotten close to it had either been flung into the air or nearly bitten. Now, with the entire team facing it it knew it didn't stand a chance.

"Fabray, other side!" Santana ordered.

Some of the team stood back as Quinn moved to the other side of the wolf, Santana then ordering Tina to stand where she had been. The Latina then moved to the front and got the wolfs attention long enough for Holly to move so that all sides were covered.

"Hey, over here!" Santana yelled whilst waving her arms.

The large creature growled and lunged forwards, Santana letting it pin her to the ground. Even though dangerous, she knew that it was necessary. It was then that Holly had drawn her hunting blade and embedded it into the large creatures back. It fell limp on the floor, it's breath coming out in slow pants.

Tina reached down and helped Santana out from under it, the Latina dusting herself off as she watched the wolf lying helpless in front of them.

"What did you do to it?" She asked, directing her question over to Holly who was sheathing her knife on her thigh.

"Paralysed it"

"What do we do now?" Tina asked.

"Puckerman, finish it off and catch up"

Puck nodded as Santana started leading the team away from the scene, all of them hearing a single gunshot before he joined up with them once more. Santana continued walking, her hand clutching the handle of her sword as it rested on her hip ready for anything that may come at them.

They were lucky enough to not encounter very many more wolves due to the fact that they had chosen the safer approach upon entering. However, as they started encountering larger amounts of wolves in groups of five or more, they knew they were travelling deeper into the island.

Passing a small waterfall they caught sight of ten or so wolves sitting patiently and ready for any vampires that came there way. No matter how hard Santana tried to tell her team to get out of way in time the wolves had already caught sight of them.

The alpha, a large black wolf with cream accents, headed the pack and headed straight for the two vampires at the front of the group, Santana and Brittany. It wasn't long before they reached them and were already lunging as if their life depended on it.

A slightly smaller but pale grey wolf jumped for Rachel, Quinn jumping in front of it just in time for it to hit her instead. Rachel watched as it threw her to the side, the blonde hitting one of the high cliffs that surrounded the small clearing they were in.

Growling the brunette ran towards the wolf who was closing in on Quinn who was just recovering. Latching herself onto it's back she gripped tightly giving her fiancée just enough time to get to her feet, drawing her blades. However, the wolf wasn't going to give up that easy and bucked wildly under the younger vampires grip, throwing Rachel off. Just as Quinn was about to take her anger out on the pale grey wolf another one, this time a light toffee colour, lunged for Rachel, clamping it's sharp jaws down on the brunette's leg.

Quinn tried to run towards the vampire in trouble but was stopped by the grey wolf that was in front of her, the creature growling low from it's chest in warning that if she dared try to stop it's friend Rachel wouldn't last much longer. Growling herself she felt rage boil inside of her and the next thing she knew she was running towards the grey wolf head-on. They met in the middle and as Quinn grabbed it around the neck she used all the strength she had to pull it down to the ground.

The wolf was unprepared for what she did next and in a fit of blood rage she unsheathed one of her blades and embedded it into the helpless creatures chest, the wolf crying out as the silver blade sunk deep into the flesh of it's heart, piercing the vital organ and killing it instantly.

Quinn wasted no time pulling herself off the dead creature and when she turned around to face her pregnant girlfriend she saw Tina swooping in, pulling Rachel away whilst Marley replaced her, now in front of the wolf. A single gunshot from her revolver and the wolf was laying on the floor lifeless at her feet, blood starting to mix into the ground of the forest floor.

Quinn caught Tina's eye and nodded, thanking her as she walked up to Rachel and placed a kiss to her forehead.

"Thanks Marley" She smiled whilst holding out her fist.

The brunette just nodded, fist bumping the blonde. "No problem" She replied before joining Tina in helping Puck and Blaine with another wolf that had joined the fight.

The couple turned their attentions to the rest of the battlefield and saw Santana and Brittany working together to bring down the alpha, the large wolf still not giving up in it's fight to dominate them. But it wasn't just going up against anyone, it was Santana and Brittany and they were damned if they were giving up that quickly.

Quinn and Rachel glanced at each other before looking back at their best friends and started moving towards them to lend a hand.

Cassandra watched from the supernatural eye in her mind and saw the vampires slowly pushing back her wolves, the fighting really starting to begin. Sat peacefully she heard her second-in-command walk out onto the balcony and stand next to her.

"What do you see?" He asked.

"I see that my sister is doing well and it disgusts me!"

"Send me down there. We can cut them off now before they get any closer!"

Cassandra smiled, her eyes still closed. She stood up and turned to face him, running a hand down the side of his face affectionately. "Be patient, my child. You'll get your chance. Wait until they get closer, see how far they get. You'll know when it's time. For now be patient. After all, for once take a leaf out of my sisters book. I don't want Santana taking you down so early in the game. The vampires don't know what we have in store for them. Now come, we must prepare."

Brody's anger calmed to an ever so slightly noticeable simmer beneath his skin, obeying his alpha's orders. He silently followed her back in from the balcony and into the temple that they called home.

Santana wiped the sweat from her brow and sheathed her sword, reaching behind and pulling out her small black rag. Brittany watched as she wiped her hands on it, making sure to clean off her wedding ring.

"What are you doing?" The blonde smiled, grabbing the piece of material and cleaning her own hands before Santana had a chance to put it back in her pocket.

"Making sure I don't have any putrid wolf blood in my most precious possession"

Brittany smiled and wiped off her own hands before handing it back to her wife, the blonde grabbing her wife's hand to place a kiss to said ring before letting Santana slide it into her back pocket once more as the rest of the team finally joined them.

"Everybody ok?" There were various nods and audible confirmations from around her. "Good, let's move"

About half an hour later they had come across a large group of wolves that looked much large than any they had come across so far. Barley showing signs of fatigue they engaged them anyway. Although unbelievably stronger than the previous ones they had fought Santana pushed her team to perform with everything they had, thus proving successful. As more joined the fight they had managed to pushed them back far enough to catch sight of a small village plaza.

Santana took a brief moment to call to Safiya. "Over there! Everybody push them back to the plaza!"

The vampires followed her command and fought as hard as they could to push the wolves back towards the place that Santana had pointed out. Santana and Brittany worked to lead the group and as soon as they reached said plaza even more wolves joined in.

Not ones to be overwhelmed the vampires continued to fight. As soon as Santana stepped onto the brickwork of the plaza she felt herself desperate to make a stand. A grey wolf ran towards her and just as it was a few feet away from her a warm energy coursed through her veins. Green wisps of air surrounded her, the complete opposite of her and Brittany's cool blue energy, and just as the wolf was about to hit her she sheathed her sword, reaching out to grab it.

Both hands wrapped around it's neck and squeezed tightly, making it stop and struggle against her hold. It gasped for air as she squeezed even tighter and with her added strength she threw it down to the floor, the brickwork slightly cracking with the force. She then grabbed it in another headlock and a few moments later it was laying lifeless on the floor at her feet. Glancing up she saw Marley in need of help and temporarily forgot her temporary strength booth as she moved to help her.

Puck and Brittany had cornered two wolves up against the side of the church in the center of the plaza, the two vampires stepping even closer. The wolves were back up against the wall and had nowhere to go before one of them gained a rush of confidence, lunging at Brittany and grabbing her by the leg. The blonde vampire cried out as she was flung through the air, her back coming into contact with one of the columns that were holding up the front of the church.

Rachel rushed to her aid as Puck ran forward in rage, hitting the one that had flung her in the head with the butt of his gun. The other ran for him to defend it's brother but Lauren seemed to come out of nowhere and football tackle it into the side of the church. The sheer force of the tackle created a dent in the side of the building, the wolf's bones crushing under the weight.

"Puckerman's mine" She snorted at the lifeless wolf.

Brushing her hands off she turned and helped Puck up before they both worked on taking the first wolf out.

"Are you ok?" Rachel asked as she helped Brittany up.

The blonde stretched her arms high above her head as she turned to watch the action unfold before them, catching sight of Santana and Marley working together to take out a light brown wolf on the edge of the plaza.

"Yeah, I'm good."

The two best friends teamed up and joined in the battle once more, both of them working to help each other take on the wolves that they were trying to push back. When things seemed to clear up, the remaining wolves retreating the vampires gathered in the center of the plaza by the large fountain to discuss what to do next. That was until Kurt cried out.

Santana was instantly by his side on the edge of the plaza, Kurt crouched over his boyfriend. "Do something!" He cried out as he clutched Blaine's head in his lap.

Artie joined Santana on the other side of him and checked him over. "He won't die but if we don't treat him now he's gonna be out for the rest of the day until I can put him on a blood drip"

"Will those blood shots work?" Santana asked.

Artie shrugged. "I don't know but we can give it a try. Here, I have some in my medic bag."

The medic pulled off the med bag that had been slung around his shoulders and placed it between him and Santana, unzipping it and pulling out a few shots to hand them to his leader. He then grabbed some for himself and after telling everybody to stand back they started placing shots all along his arms and in his neck.

Fourteen shots later and suddenly Blaine sat up, Kurt crying out in relief. "What happened?" He asked in confusion as he rubbed where some of the shots had been injected into his neck.

"We don't know, you tell us" Santana said, handing Artie the empty auto-injectors that she had used.

"I remembered getting bitten and then knocked out. The last thing I remember is Kurt hovering over me"

"Don't do that to me ever again!" The brunette boy sniffled, tears running down his cheeks as he placed a kiss to Blaine's forehead.

Blaine smiled. "Sorry. Thank you" He said, looking over at both Artie and Santana who just shrugged.

"Don't thank us" Artie replied. "Thank the blood shots"

"At least we know they work" Puck shrugged from his place a few feet away.

"That's true. Everybody re-group whilst I contact the rest of the other vampires. I have a good feeling that this can be a stronghold after we move on."

Everybody moved away and started securing the plaza whilst Santana contacted the other vampires and then Akinori to check the safety of HQ. Once finding out he daughter was still safe she turned to find Brittany sat on the edge of the water fountain trying to rub her back with one of her hands. Walking up to Brittany she frowned.

"The area is clear and the other vampires are closing in on this location. They'll be here soon to rendezvous and then we can move on. What's wrong?" She asked sitting down next to her.

"Over by the church me and Puck cornered two wolves and just when we thought we had them one lunged for me and grabbed me by the leg. The next thing I knew my back was colliding with one of the columns. It just hurts"

"Hold on. Does this help?" The older vampire asked whilst rubbing her jacket-clad back.

Brittany groaned at the feeling of her wife's comforting hand rubbing up and down her back easing some of the aching that had settled into her muscles. She groaned once more when Santana's hand retracted itself, but this time it was an unsatisfied groan.

"Does it still hurt?" Santana asked, an adoring smile threatening to take over her face at the innocent and childish look that taken over her wife's features.

"Yes" Brittany huffed.

Santana couldn't stop the smile that finally took over her face as she reached into a thigh pocket on her leather pants. Brittany saw her pull out a blood shot and grab her wrist, pushing up her jacket sleeve so that she could access her wrist.

"Here, this should help."

Brittany watched Santana's wedding ring glint in the sunlight as she rubbed the skin of Brittany's wrist before placing the auto-injector just below her Kobejitsu glyph tattoo. A few seconds later and she felt a rush of fresh human blood flowing into her blood stream. A few minutes later and she felt it heal her back, the blonde rolling her shoulders in satisfaction as the pain faded away.

Quinn watched from a distance as Santana placed a kiss to Brittany's back before walking over to Rachel who was leaning up against one of the arches of the building opposite to the fountain.

"Hey, you ok?" The blonde asked coming to a stop beside her.

Rachel nodded. "Yep."

"How's the peanut?" Quinn asked, placing her hand over Rachel's flat stomach.

Rachel raised an eyebrow. "Peanut?"

Quinn shrugged. "Is it too early for nicknames?"

Rachel smiled, shaking her head in response. "No, it's not. It's actually quite cute"

"Hey!"

"What? You are! It's only been a day and you're already being all adorable"

"I'm not adorable, I'm a badass!"

"I know baby" Rachel smiled, her hand coming up to rest on the back of Quinn's neck rubbing the skin soothingly.

Quinn rolled her eyes. "You didn't answer my question. How's the peanut?"

"They're good"

Quinn smiled and knelt down, pressing as kiss to Rachel's t-shirt clad stomach before letting her head rest against it.

"I love you peanut"

Rachel just smiled as she let her hand rest on top of Quinn's head, her engagement ring glinting in the light. A few minutes later the first team of vampires had arrived.

The team had been travelling for the good part of an hour, Safiya helping Santana lead them through the extremely dense forest that covered most of the island. Her team had continued on whilst two of the other vampire teams had stayed behind to set up a stronghold. The others had been sent in other directions whilst Safiya had led Santana's main team into the forest.

They had encountered a few small groups but there had been nothing the couldn't handle before Ryder had shown up and decided that he wanted to play. Santana was alerted to his presence when she saw him clamping down on Marley's arm. Tina tried to free her but they were soon presented with a bigger problem. In a few short moments they were being swamped with even more wolves, outnumbering them.

They separated off into their preferred pairs and tried to take them on. Tina had managed to distract Ryder long enough for him to let go of her girlfriend and as soon as he had turned his attentions to the older vampire Marley jumped out of the way behind her maker. Tina held out a hand and forced her progeny to stand back, Marley getting the command and letting her girlfriend take the lead.

Tina jumped forward and stabbed her blades into both of his shoulders. He yelled out in pain and transformed back to his human self. Taking the opportunity she pushed him down to the floor and punched him in the face with a strength that had been born from her need to protect her mate.

Once the werewolf had gotten a grip on what was happening he managed to force Tina off of him and switch their positions. He took the opportunity to punch her hard in the face before Marley pulled him off of her.

He growled at the interruption and tried to grab her, the young vampire anticipating the attack and ducking. Using her advanced melee abilities she swung a high kick at his face, pushing him back. When he quickly recovered she kicked him in the abdomen and reached for the revolver that was sitting in it's holster at her waist. She shot him in the chest once before sliding it back in and kicked him again. He fell back where Tina was already waiting for him. She had both sai blades pointed upwards and he fell down right on top of them letting out a sickening growl of pain as the metal burnt through his skin and came out the front.

Tina and Marley stood over him watching as he gasped for air, his hands resting on the blades despite that they were burning his skin.

"You won't...ever win" He said in between breaths.

Tina raised an eyebrow. "You keep thinking that. You made the wrong choice going for my girlfriend and your biggest mistake was transforming back into human form. Marley"

The brunette nodded and pulled out her revolver again. Seconds later there was a clean hole through the center of his skull and the younger vampire was sheathing her gun once more. Tina knelt down and rolled him onto his side, pulling out her blades and sheathing them at her sides once more despite the fact that they were still covered in his blood.

"You ok?" She asked, glad that everything had calmed down once more.

"Yeah, my arms a little painful though"

"Let me look"

Marley let the Asian girl take hold of her right arm and a few moments later she was injecting a blood shot at the top just above the wound. A few seconds later and the wound slowly knitted itself together as if nothing had happened. Marley thanked her girlfriend with a kiss to her cheek before they joined Santana and Brittany along with Quinn and Rachel at the edge of the clearing where they had gotten to before the fighting began.

"Let's move out" Santana said before once again taking the lead.

"Please, just let me go out there!"

"Sabas, enough!" Cassandra growled, rubbing her temples as she watched the vampire pace in front of her throne.

"Why won't you let me go down there and fight them?!"

"Because you are blinded by your revenge"

"What?"

"All you see is killing your daughter, not stopping them. Do you really think if you go down there and kill her now that they won't stop? If anything they will be much more motivated to avenge her. No, you must stay restrained until the right time, until I tell you to. Give them the illusion that they have made it so far without incident and then strike when they are about to hit the homestretch"

"But-"

"Enough! You will stay here until I say you can go, do you understand?!"

The vampire sighed. "Fine. But as soon as you let me I'm going to kill her"

Cassandra smirked. "And I have no doubt that you will"

A while later after a few rogue groups of wolves Safiya slowed down so that she was walking next to Santana.

"We are approaching the swamplands"

"Swamplands?"

"Yes. This part of the island's territory is very dangerous"

"How so?"

"There are creatures that lurk under the waters of the swamps that eat werewolves and vampires alike in one gulp. It's getting darker, a sure sign that we are getting closer. Stick to the paths and do as I say and we should all come out of this alive"

Santana nodded, Safiya joining Holly at the front of the group once more. Sure enough it started to get darker and they were travelling what seemed to be downwards. It was as if night enveloped just this part of the island despite the fact that it was the middle of the day. When Safiya came to a stop at the edge everybody else soon enough came to a stop behind her as she turned around to engage them.

"I must warn you, this territory is dangerous. You must all stick close or else I fear that some of you might not make it out of the swamp alive. There are creatures here that will not hesitate to kill you on sight so I urge that you all keep close. If we do make it out I know that we will be close to the werewolf lair. We will most likely encounter many wolves there and I wouldn't be surprised if they have many placed in these swamps. I am sure they know what evils lurk here and they will not hesitate to throw you into the waters to leave you at the mercy of these creatures. Santana"

"You heard her people. Everybody pair up and organise yourself into a group line just like in the tunnel when we first landed on the island. Puck, Lauren, I'm sure you're pairing up so I want you watching the back. Everybody line up accordingly whilst I check in with the other teams."

Everybody split off and started deciding their pairs whilst Santana stood off to the side to contact all the other teams to check in. Luckily two of them had stayed behind to defend the stronghold meaning that they were merged into one.

"We're ok Santana San, we are holding them off"

Santana knew that most of them were Kobejitsu so she had faith that they could hold the wolves off long enough to keep a foothold on the island.

"Thanks. Stay strong and update me if anything changes"

"Will do. Stronghold team out"

After checking in with five other teams making sure that they were ok she was ready to go. Pressing the button off on her ear piece she walked over to Brittany.

"You wanna check in on Honey?"

"Yeah"

"Go ahead"

Brittany pressed her ear piece in and felt Santana wrap her arms around her from behind, her head resting on her shoulder so that she could hear what was going on in her wife's ear piece.

"Akinori?"

"Brittany?"

"How's Honey?"

"She is fine"

"Has anything happened?"

"Yes. We had a few wolves attack but the team that are with me have proven strong and we have held them off. Honey was a little shaken up from the sounds but she's ok. She is unharmed"

"Good. We're about to enter the swamplands and after that we are more or less on the homestretch"

"Is Santana ok?"

Brittany smiled at his concern. "Yes, she is ok. She's right here with me"

"Good. You must go and complete your task. The sooner you do, the sooner you can come back and finally relax"

The blonde grinned. "That sounds good. Tell us if anything happens"

"I will. Akinori out"

Brittany pressed the button on her earpiece and enjoyed the brief moment of comfort she was getting from Santana's embrace. "How much did you hear?"

"All of it. I'm glad she's ok. Akinori won't let anything happen to her. You ready to go?"

"Yes. Can I ask you something?" She asked as she pulled away from the Latina.

"Yeah?"

"Will you partner up with me?"

Santana chuckled, holding out her hand. "Of course. Let's go"

They took up their place at the front of the group and as soon as everybody was organised behind them they started moving. The swamp was relatively quiet except for a few random insects and crickets making their selves known as the team travelled over worn wooden bridges passing a few empty shacks and flaming torches.

"What kind of creatures do you think are in these swamps?" Puck asked from the back of the group.

"God knows, at least if it eats you we won't have to listen to you whine any more" Santana grinned.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

The older vampire chuckled. "It means that it will be doing all of us a favour if eats your ugly ass. At least then we won't have to look at you any more"

There were snickers from some of the others. "Hey!"

"No offence Lauren" Santana added.

The larger girl laughed. "None taken. I have on occasion been known to hope he's eaten by an ugly creature when he annoys me with all of his mushy love crap"

Santana laughed as Puck frowned. "Hey, the Puckasaurus here does not annoy you with mushy love crap!"

"Uh, yes you do!"

"She's got a point" Mike laughed. "You do annoy her constantly"

"Quiet!" Santana said, stopping and listening to the environment around her. "There's something close."

Moments later and they all heard it, the slow rippling of water. It gradually got louder and louder until to their left the water was visibly moving more than it should have for where they were.

"Everybody off the path!"

They all followed their leader over the wooden path that led over the water and as soon as they were all on solid ground the creature had started to appear. At first a small head started to appear but soon the vampires realised that they had some serious odds stacked against them.

It's mouth was shaped into four points, three large sharp teeth-like edges lining the bottom of the jaw. What looked like a large fang made up the top of the jaw and by the looks of it it seemed to be extremely dangerous and the perfect weapon made for crushing bones. Three eyes were placed on each side of the head that resembled a spider. It's back was like a massive hump that resembled an insects body, the segments stopping at the point where it's body branched off into legs, which were also insect-like. They very much resembled pincers, four small useless ones lining each side of the stomach. Attached to the bulky shoulders were two long human-like arms which were big enough to expand the entire body, the muscles thick with each having three clawed hands that looked like they could pierce your entire body from the front and out the back with just one squeeze. To make matters worse, each body part that it seemed to possess was plated with heavy insect plating that moulded itself into the muscles of it's body. To top everything off in the center of it's chest it had an open rib cage, each end of bone so jagged that looked like it could pierce your flesh in one try like it's claws.

The beast roared as it neared the team.

"What do we do?!" Quinn yelled as it got even closer to them, it's large body wading through the thick swamp.

"Everybody fall back!" Santana ordered, the team doing as they were told. When they were at a safe distance she glanced over at Safiya. "Any ideas?"

"No, but you can't risk any of the team. You have to take it out yourself"

"Why me?"

Safiya shrugged. "You are the leader"

"This is no time to be funny! Why only me?!"

"Because..." Safiya trailed off, the other team members holding back laughs despite their situation.

Santana sighed in defeat. "Ok, but how?"

"Your powers from me and your training. Those combined will help you."

"But I don't understand! I don't know where it's weak and it's not" The queen just shrugged, everybody ducking as the forest shook with each step closer the creature took. A few moments later of thinking she glanced to her left where Brittany was ducking with her. "Britt, trust me on this"

"On what?"

Before she could get a reply Santana had already jumped to her feet and was yelling at the creature to gain it's attention. It let out a horrible screech as it saw the vampire which seemed extremely small compared to it's large size. Brittany watched on with baited breath as her wife led the creature away from the team and towards the murky water from which it first appeared.

Santana jumped out of the way just in time as the creature lunged for her with it's large arms, it's huge body falling into the water. It roared loudly in anger as it turned to face her, Santana panting as adrenaline pumped through her veins. Brittany waited patiently for Santana's signal and when the large insect-like creature started nearing her wife once more her heart started pounding faster and faster in her chest.

Then it came.

"Tora!"

The Japanese translation for 'tiger'. As soon as it left her wife's lips they both connected across the short distance that they were apart. Brittany let her mind drain itself of any thoughts she had until all she could think about was connecting with her soul mate through their unique bond. After many many hours of practising they had become efficient enough to control their tiger to the extent that they were also able to move and use it at the same time. In this instance Brittany knew that they did not need it physically, but mentally, and Santana would tell her through their bond when she actually needed the real thing. For now she wanted just the mental benefits.

The air around the Latina grew cold and her eyes flashed blue and then green before settling on the cool blue of their bond once more. Both of her powers combined was enough to give her the strength for what she planned to do but some of her team wasn't so sure.

"What is she doing?! She's going to get herself killed!" Kurt cried, watching as the ugly creature neared his friend even more.

"Have faith! Santana knows what she's doing!" Rachel argued beside him.

"Trust me, she knows what she's doing" Quinn added, her eyes never leaving the form of her best friend who was standing face to face with the creature.

They watched on as the creature stormed towards her and as soon as it was close enough Santana used her combined strength to jump towards it. The entire team seemed to hold their breath all at the same time as she gripped it around the waist near the base of it's body where the legs branched off. It cried out in surprise at the pure strength of the small creature and before it realised the true extent of what was happening to it Santana had already pulled it under the water with her.

Seconds seemed to turn into minutes as they both went under, the team coming out of cover to see what had happened. The murky water was still with no movement as if nothing happened as some of them approached the edge hoping for any signs of their leader. A few moments later Brittany felt something tugging at her bond, that very signal she was waiting for, the one that called for the physical manifestation of what tied them together as a couple.

Quinn glanced at the other blonde and the rest of the teams gaze followed her, including Safiya and Holly to see Brittany's eyes glow blue. They all felt that familiar cool air surround them and stepped aside to let Brittany stand by the edge of the water. The blonde's hands came up to her waist as if she was guiding something invisible in front of her. A few seconds later the water erupted in a flurry of splashes and struggling as Santana and the creature wrestled with each other, the larger of the two finding it hard to get a grip on the vampire with it's large 'claws' as she clung to it's body out of the way of the bulky weapons.

As soon as they were pulled underneath the swamp water once more Brittany frowned and shook her head.

"Britt, what is it?" Quinn asked.

"I can't focus on her. They're all over the place under there. I need Santana to help me, I can't do it alone, I need the other half of the bond to conjure the tiger!"

"Keep calm" Rachel said softly, knowing that this was the first real test that Brittany had to face with the bond and she knew that her best friend had to relax and calm herself down.

When Brittany felt the calming hand of her best friend on her forearm she took a deep breath and channelled her wife's presence, this time able to focus on helping the Latina. A few moments later Rachel and the people who were stood around her stepped back as the blue wisps of air picked up around her, the blonde's hands resuming their positions at her waist as if she were controlling something.

The water broke once more in a flurry of splashes and Santana growled as the creature managed to grab hold of her and throw her up against a nearby shack, the Latina growling as her back came into contact with the old structure. The creature growled as it neared the recovering vampire and Santana tried desperately to control herself enough to pick up on Brittany's calling. Taking a deep breath, just as the swamp creature waded through the shallow water towards her the familiar blue air of their bond surrounded her too and it stopped in it's tracks.

Santana smirked and then felt their tiger manifest itself next to her. Her eyes locked with the matching glowing blue ones of her wife and seconds later the swamp had erupted into chaos once more. The creature growled as it lunged for the Latina once more and Santana jumped towards it at the same time. The team watched as she dragged it under the water once more, this time her and Brittany's tiger following her.

The blonde on the bank was holding her control as Santana wrestled with the creature underneath the murky water before they surfaced once more, the creature managing to catch her in the side of her face and creating a large open wound across the entirety of her left cheek, blood visibly running down across her jaw and towards her neck. Despite Santana being injured Brittany managed to keep her own control intact as her wife wrestled to gain the upper hand.

The team watched as the Latina's eyes continued to glow blue, the tiger roaring and biting into the side of the creatures extremely thin and unprotected waist. It's sharp jaws clamped down on one of the unprotected, unused stub-like insect arms and pulled. The creature cried out in pain as the tiger ripped it straight from it's body, blood spraying out from the wound covering both the tiger and Santana as well as mixing with the murky green water of the swamp that they were fighting in.

The creature swung violently underneath Santana as she tried to keep control and as soon as her and Brittany's tiger tore across it's back with it's large claws drawing even more blood she knew that this was her chance. Taking the opportunity she gripped tightly to it's body with her right hand whilst her left reached down to unsheathe her sword. The entire team, including Brittany, watched as Santana went for the only weak spot she knew would work.

The Latina let her training kick in and pushed herself off of the creature, jumping back onto the bank where the team were standing. The tiger kept the monster busy long enough for her to execute her plan. Moments later she had leaped into the air once more, her sword outstretched, and with all the strength and precision she had she drove her weapon through the middle of it's open ribcage. The sharp object pierced incredibly soft skin and blood poured out around it as the creature beneath her writhed and cried out in pain. Santana pulled her sword out just in time for the monster to collapse into the water below with a large splash and a loud gurgle of pain.

Blood mixed with the murky water as it sunk out of sight and as Santana pulled herself out of the swamp the tiger soon dissolved into nothing as both her and Brittany came out of their joint bond. The blonde immediately rushed over to her and helped her wife out, wrapping an arm around her waist as she pulled her to the side where she could sit down and catch her breath despite being covered in dirty swamp water and blood (both the creatures and her own).

"Are you ok?"

Santana nodded. "Yeah. I think so. Good job"

The blonde smiled. "Thank you. Let's have a look at your cheek"

"It really hurts"

Brittany looked at it carefully, her hand gripping the Latina's chin gently. She was about to say something when Safiya walked up to them. "It's infected."

Santana frowned. "What?"

"If it isn't treated it will poison you."

"How do we heal her?" Brittany asked.

"A direct blood shoot should heal her."

"How do we know that will work?" Quinn asked, stepping up to them.

"I know it's not fatal and it won't kill her but it will be extremely painful and she won't be able to carry on and we need her if we are to complete our goal."

Quinn nodded and then glanced over at Artie. "What do you think?"

"I totally agree with her" He replied, stepping up to them and unzipping his med bag.

Once Brittany had two blood shots the others stepped back to give her some privacy whilst she injected them just above her jaw underneath the large wound. Once the blonde had patched her up they started moving once more not wanting to waste time. Just before they left Safiya tapped into her power and managed to clean off Santana with a flick of her wrist. She new neither her, the team, or Santana herself would want to smell like a bog for the rest of their mission. To everybody's surprise they just laughed it off as they started to exit the swamp, their leader no longer smelly or covered in unidentifiable muck.

One of Cassandra's wolves ran in in his human form panting, the queen sat on her throne. "What is it?" She demanded.

"The vampires survived the swamp"

"What of the creature?"

"Dead by the commander's sword"

"That means they are close" Brody said from his place beside her.

"Indeed it does. Prepare for their arrival. It won't be long before they find the entrance to the temple ruins and start their final march up to here. Everybody prepare themselves"

Safiya eventually led the team to a small brick hut. Beyond the door was a set of stairs that she led them down.

"We are approaching the temple ruins, beyond this set of stairs is a large cavern that houses the door we need to bypass to enter the final approach towards where Cassandra is located."

"How many wolves can we expect?" Santana asked from behind her as they descended the old steps.

"I don't know, but prepare yourselves for anything."

They continued on in silence as the queen led them down into the cavern she had told them about. It was if they had entered a completely overgrown great hall of a castle. A small spring poured in from where they entered, a seemingly large hole that had been ripped into the room a very long time ago. Plants grew on every wall and wild flowers were dotted around the entirety of the room whilst sunlight streamed in through large cracks in the once perfect roof. If it weren't for the situation and who resided here it would have been a beautiful ruin. It very much reminded them of a lost city.

Safiya led them over towards the far end of the room where the remains of a large set of stairs remained.

"The wolves have definitely been here. We're on the right track" Santana observed, seeing paw prints in the random patches of mud created by the small springs pouring in from various places around the room, all of them converging in the middle and running down until they connected with the large one that was coming from the massive hole they had used to enter.

Safiya continued to lead them towards the stairs and upwards, the sound of their feet splashing the water covering the old stone as they climbed them carefully. The queen the proceeded to lead them under an archway, a large wooden door in the center of the wall behind. Safiya pushed it open and the others followed her down a long corridor decorated with exquisite tiles from top to bottom.

Through another large wooden door and they entered a large room where the ceiling was high above them. Water covered the entirety of the floor as if it had sunken beneath a river and came up to their knees as they followed their queen without question. Safiya led them up to an intricately carved door that was moulded into the rock of the wall on the far side of the room. It was extremely large in size, two detailed carvings of women on a pillar each side of the main door. From where she had come to a stop Santana could see clearly that the one on the left represented Safiya and the one on the right represented Cassandra.

On the main door it was split into two halves, the one on the left depicting vampires and the one on the right depicting the werewolves. It was more than likely representing the war between the both of them. Towards the bottom was a large glass orb placed in the center of the door that would more than likely be key to opening it. The top of the door expanded into a circular shape that housed a star diagram, a large hole in the center that seemed to be connected to the orb at the bottom. Safiya climbed the steps whilst everybody stayed back to observe, including Holly and Santana.

"The door only let's werewolves in. It may take some time but I should be able to break the barrier." Safiya said, her hand delicately tracing the intricate stone work.

"How long?" Santana asked.

"I don't know. No longer than ten minutes. I need you to watch out for trouble whilst I attempt to break the barrier long enough for us to enter. I have no doubt that my sister now knows we're close to her and she won't hesitate to send trouble our way."

"Start sending troops down to the door. I want them waiting for the vampires when they break through the barrier"

"Why?" Brody asked as he clutched his hands tightly behind his back, thoughts of fighting Santana running through his mind.

"They have entered the temple ruins. It won't be long before my inferior sister breaks through my barrier and starts her final trip up here to face me. That's when the true fun begins. Make sure that you send a little trouble to their side of the door, keep them busy trying to protect that fool that calls herself their queen." Brody smiled evilly at her making Cassandra sigh playfully. "And yes, I want both you and Sabas waiting on our side of the door to greet them. See if you can't find out what my sister has that will 'defeat' me and bring it to me. Maybe we could use it against them"

Brody smiled and bowed in understanding. Cassandra nodded in acknowledgement and watched as Sabas followed behind her lieutenant eagerly like an impatient child. She sighed knowing that his need for vengeance would someday get the better of him and cost him dearly in the long run. Shaking her head she watched as they both exited, a knowing smile crossing her lips. She'd never let him know that she knew he would regret it. That was for her to enjoy and him to find out.

"We've got company!" Quinn said, everybody turning to the door they'd entered through to see a few wolves pouring in.

"Engage them and keep them busy. Holly, you stay back with me so that we can protect Safiya whilst she works."

Everybody followed her orders once more and moved into position. Santana watched as her team started to engage the wolves, the fight equally matched. A few wolves came close but it wasn't enough to get to vampire queen thanks to Holly and Santana working together to protect her.

"It's broken!" Safiya yelled above the noise of the fight. "Everybody move through now before it repairs itself!"

"You heard her!" Santana shouted. "Everybody move now! Quinn, lead them through, I'll follow last"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, go now!"

Quinn nodded and the team started retreating through the door in the blonde's wake. Brittany was just about to run through the open door when they heard a cry. Both her and Santana turned around to see Rachel being backed up against the far wall by four wolves, even more pressing closer to the married couple and the door that was about to close at any second.

Santana turned to face her wife. "Go!"

"What? No! I'm not going without you!" Brittany frowned, gripping Santana's hand tightly within her own.

"Brittany, go now! I'll get Rachel. Go and help the others, I'll be fine. I promise"

The blonde sighed and reluctantly let go of her wife's hand, turning and running through the door that closed behind her. Brittany's heart raced as she turned to see the large stone door seal behind her but she knew that she had to go on for Santana's sake. She just hoped that she would be ok.

"Britt, where's Santana?" Quinn yelled above the noise when she saw the other blonde enter the large open-aired corridor that they were in.

"She had to save Rachel" She replied, readying her blades as she joined the older vampire's side.

Quinn's blood ran cold. "What?"

"The door closed. Santana stayed behind to save Rachel. They didn't have time to escape. I was the last through the door before it closed."

Quinn's shook her head of the thoughts that ran through her mind of her pregnant fiancée and she knew she had to go on. She had faith that her best friend would save both herself and Rachel. For now she had to help clear the area so that they could figure out what to do next.

Santana watched as the door closed behind her wife and she turned back to the slightly sunken room before her, numerous wolves closing in on both her and her best friend's wife-to-be. Steeling herself with her sword drawn she started running, ignoring the enemies that were closing in on her. Rachel's scream was enough to kick her into high gear as adrenaline rushed through her veins like a hot potent mix of unpredictable power that could explode at any moment if provoked.

Rachel caught sight of the closed door and saw Santana running towards her as if nothing else on Earth mattered. The Latina's sword cut through anything in her way and focused on her goal she pushed back the wolves in front of Rachel long enough to cover her from any harm.

"Santana, what about the door!" Rachel panted, fear running through her veins that they might not make it out of this room alive. The thought caused her free hand to unconsciously drift down to her stomach where her and Quinn's baby was now growing.

"We can't worry about that now! We need to find another way out and then we can think about meeting up with the others. Help clear these out and we can start looking for an exit"

Rachel followed her leader's ordered and steeled herself as she gripped her gun tightly in her hands. Now was not the time for her newborn vampire nerves to get the better of her. As Santana jumped into the fray with nothing but her sword Rachel stayed on the edges of the room and took out the wolves from a distance, her long range skills coming into play to help clear out the room.

When it was cleared enough Santana turned to Rachel panting from the exertion. "Let's start looking for a way out before reinforcements arrive."

They got to work and used the little time they had to search for a way out. When Rachel found a small hole Santana walked over to her.

"It's large enough. Come on, you go first and I'll make sure it's safe here. Don't stop or look back, just continue ok?" Rachel nodded. "Ok, go"

Rachel squeezed into the small hole and never looked back. Santana had managed to squeeze down the hole just in time before the reinforcements arrived like she had expected.

Back in the open-aired corridor the rest of the team had just managed to clear out the wolves long enough to take in what had happened.

"Where's Santana?" Kitty asked, worry clear in her voice for the maker that she had only just started getting to know.

"She never made it through the door" Brittany sighed from her place beside Quinn.

"What?!" Puck protested.

"Where's Rachel?" Mercedes asked, looking around and not finding the small brunette.

"She never made it either" Brittany explained. "Santana stayed behind to save her. She ordered me to go on and as soon as I did the door closed behind me"

"What do we do?" Kurt asked.

"We've got to continue, we can't stop now" Mike said.

"We can't just leave them!" Puck cried out in frustration.

"We've got to finish!" The Asian boy argued.

Quinn watched as the two aggressively argued back and forth before stepping in between them. "No matter what we decide it won't do them any good by fighting with each other! Calm down. We're not leaving them, no one gets left behind. You all know this better than anybody. It's what we live by as a team."

"Then how do you suggest we go about that?" Matt asked from his place beside Mike.

Quinn sighed, rubbing her forehead in frustration. "I don't know"

"I suggest we vote" Sam offered. "Everyone will vote whether to think of a way to find Santana and Rachel, or continue on without them."

"I don't like the idea but it's the best option we have right now. You all heard what Sam said. We'll vote to see what we should do before reinforcements arrive. Once we choose we can't go back. We're on the homestretch"

As the team started deciding Puck's attention started to drift. He didn't want to leave Santana behind but he knew that they had to give everybody a fair choice as to what they were going to do. When something caught his attention out the corner of his eye he started walking towards it.

"Hey, Puck! Where are you going?" Mike asked annoyed.

Puck just brushed him off with the wave of a hand and soon enough the rest of the team watched him walk towards something ahead. All of a sudden they saw the bricks of the corridor floor break and a familiar hand push up through. Puck's eyes widened at the sight and watched as Santana smiled up at him.

"Fancy seeing you here Puckerman!"

Puck rolled his eyes, a relived puff of air escaping his lips as he let a rare affectionate smile cross his lips. "Fuck you lezbro. Don't do that again. Here, I'll help you up."

"No, help Rachel out first after you've cleared some of these bricks enough for us to fit through"

Puck nodded and watched from above as Santana pulled Rachel away from the hole, wrapping her arms around the brunette affectionately to protect her from any debris that may hit them. As soon as Puck had cleared the hole above enough, him and Santana worked to lift her out.

Brittany watched from a distance as Quinn and Rachel were reunited and if her heart was still beating she could have swore it would have stopped at the sight of her wife being pulled up by one of her best friends. When Santana looked up she knew that the Latina was searching for her and she rushed forward to embrace her placing familiar flurries of kisses to every inch of the older vampires face.

"I'm ok Britt" Santana chuckled, one of her arms wrapping around her wife's waist to steady themselves.

After discussing what had happened and what they were going to do next Safiya led the team along the corridor to their final destination.

They didn't expect both Brody and Sabas to greet them on the other side of the door at the end of the corridor. Following his masters orders Brody immediately went for Safiya, Sabas following. They knew that if they both focused on their queen Santana would have no choice but to defend her, which would mean that they had her right where they wanted her and they would have their chance to take her out.

Just as they predicted she jumped in to protect her and they took their chance. Discarding their order to obtain the one thing that would give them the upper hand they chose revenge over sense. Brody lunged for Santana the same time that Sabas jumped forward, his sword held out before him.

The Latina tried to dodge but she didn't make it in time, her two attackers managing to hit her at the same time. The familiar sound of Santana's scream was enough to make Brittany look up from where she was helping Quinn fend off a particularly aggressive brown wolf. The older blonde looked to Santana and then back at Brittany.

"Go!"

"But-"

"Go Britt, go to her!" Quinn yelled, Lauren jumping in ready to take the young vampires place.

Nodding at Quinn Brittany jumped away and rushed to help her wife who was in serious trouble if someone didn't help her. Out the corner of her eye she caught sight of Holly and Safiya defending each other. They were ok but Santana definitely wasn't. She turned her attentions back to their leader and saw Sabas drive his sword through her stomach where her old stake scar was. She heard the vampire laugh as he twisted the blade, Brody now in his human form holding the Latina back.

Santana gritted her teeth at the pain that coursed through her stomach, the old wound never having healed completely, and it never would especially with the damage her father was doing with the deadly metal blade he called his weapon. Her sword was kicked to the side and Brittany picked it up, glad that the blade recognised her and didn't attack her with it's built-in defence mechanism.

The blonde's eyes glowed blue as she felt anger run through her veins at the sight. Their tiger was simmering just beneath her veins and not holding back she let her emotions fuel it's control, the animal materialising just behind her in a sudden rush of cool blue air. When Sabas saw his daughters eyes glow blue just like that day in the forest he froze. Brody looked up to see his brother in arms stop in his tracks at the sight before him. Santana let out a pained smile at his shocked expression.

"What's wrong?" The wolf demanded.

"It's happening again!"

Before Brody had a chance to ask exactly what Brittany had used Santana's sword to injure him. Sabas cried loudly as his left arm was severed at the shoulder, the limb falling to the floor in a puddle of his blood. Brody's grip loosened a little and Santana took the opportunity to break free of the grip altogether, green flashing in her eyes from Safiya's ancient power which was simmering just beneath the surface of her skin.

She gripped the wolf's arm and slammed him into the floor before falling backwards herself, her back hitting one of the stone pillars of the room that they were fighting in. She groaned in pain as she saw Sabas' blade sticking out of her stomach still burning her from the inside out. It had gone right through and all she could do now was wait until she had help to pull it out. Brittany would have helped her straight away but her father was still there howling in pain.

Santana watched as the blonde tackled him, the older vampire groaning as the newborns sheer power almost crushed his insides as he hit one of the pillars nearby. Brittany then proceeded to punch him before pushing herself into his personal space not caring if she was getting covered in the blood pouring from where his arm used to be.

"You nearly killed my wife! The mother of my child! You nearly beat her to death and you sure as hell would have never gotten close enough to me to take what you call my 'innocence'! What makes you think that you would have even got within a mile of our daughter, huh?!"

"You're nothing but a whore!" He smirked evilly, pain evident on his face.

"I'm far from it, I always will be. This is for my wife!" Brittany then proceeded to punch him and throw him to the floor, her and Santana's bond mixing with her newborn strength giving her the power to throw him like he was nothing but a rag doll.

When he passed out, most likely from blood loss, she huffed in satisfaction. The floor was cracked around him from where she had thrown him so hard into the brickwork. She then turned to face Brody who was running away from their tiger in it's physical form. Knowing that he was being taken care of Brittany spun around when she felt her wife fading through their bond. She was losing the willpower to keep it up. The pain was winning out.

Brittany instantly collapsed by her side not knowing what to do. Luckily Santana was ready to guide her. "Take hold of it and pull it out. It's not fatal but it's bad" She gasped, her breathing shallow as she winced in pain. The metal burning her insides was proving to be even more troublesome by the second.

The younger vampire nodded and moved her wife's hands away from where they were resting over the blade. When she gripped hold of the blade herself she took a deep breath before pulling it out carefully. She got halfway when Santana stopped her by putting her hand over hers.

"Stop, just pull it right out. The last part is always the worst"

Brittany nodded and once Santana's hand had left hers she pulled out the blade as quickly as she could, the older vampire crying out in pain as the metal finally left her body. Brittany tossed the blade away just as Safiya, Holly and Quinn ran up to them.

"We need to go now!" Safiya said, looking down at them. "We're clear for now but there will be more coming. Can she move?"

Brittany glanced down at her wife before looking back up at their queen. "Maybe but if she's going to make it to the end we're gonna need a lot of blood shots. The blade went right through her old stake wound and burnt her inside. I don't know how much it's going to take to get her on her feet again"

"Inject her"

Brittany nodded as Artie came to a stop beside them. He knelt down and unzipped his med bag, Santana catching sight of something behind them.

"San, what's wrong?" Brittany asked.

"He's getting away" She wheezed, a fresh wave of pain coursing through her body.

"Don't worry, we'll get him one day. Let's just focus on getting you fit to carry on" Quinn said, her arms crossed over her chest.

Santana watched helplessly as her father hobbled away, his only arm holding his sword. The vampire disappeared behind a door in the distance and she was forced to focus on the people before her.

Numerous blood shots and a brief feeding on her wife later and she was on her feet again mostly healed. The wound was now nothing but something that resembled a stab wound, something she could live with, at least until they finished what they came here to do.

"We need to split up" Safiya said.

"Ok, two teams. One will accompany me to Cassandra whilst the other stays here to protect the entrance whilst we do what has to be done."

Brody rushed up the set of stairs towards the final door that led to where his queen was waiting. As soon as the door was closed behind him he sighed in relief.

"What's wrong? Where's Sabas?" Cassandra demanded from her throne.

"I don't know where he went or what happened to him but I know that they attacked me with their tiger"

"Who attacked you?"

"Santana and Brittany. Sabas was right. That thing came out of nowhere. It chased me away and faded when Santana started losing strength"

"What do you mean?"

"Sabas injured her but she's not dead. They've cleared the area for now but it won't be long before they come up here"

Cassandra sighed and rubbed her temples before standing up. "Prepare everybody here for when they arrive and meet me in the open-aired room not too far from here. I will be enjoying the view while we wait for our guests."

Brody nodded and got to work as she exited the room.

"Ok, so I think I have everybody spread out equally. I need an equal amount of strength to help hold off the wolves while we take care of this. So, Quinn, Rachel, Safiya, Holly, Tina, Marley, and Britt, you're all with me. The rest of you I need you to stay strong and keep the wolves back to give us a chance to finish this. Is everybody ready?"

"I think we're ready" Puck smiled, putting his hand into the center of the circle that they were all stood in.

Santana smiled back as more and more of the team pledged themselves and placed their hands in the center of the circle.

"Good luck Santana" Blaine grinned, patting her on the back as everybody moved into position.

The Latina nodded and continued walking, stopping when she came to Kitty. "Hey" The blonde greeted, a rare nervous smile on her face.

"Hey, you ok?"

"I don't know..."

Santana understood immediately and pulled her first progeny into a hug. "It's ok. I'll be fine"

"I know" She sniffled as she pulled away. "But that doesn't mean I can't worry right? I just found you after three hundred years of never knowing you and now you may be killed."

Santana smiled. "It's fine" She said, glancing over to where her small team were all talking with each other. "Stick around long enough and you'll realise we have a unique talent of achieving the impossible, hence the reason why we're the ones doing this and not somebody else. Kitty, I know you started this war on the wrong side, but I'm proud of you for choosing the right side and after this if you ever want somewhere to call home there will always be a place on my team waiting for you. I trust you enough to know that you can handle yourself. Good luck"

"You too"

Santana nodded and started walking before Kitty stopped her, grabbing her by the wrist. "Santana..." She trailed off. Moments later the Latina was engulfed in a tight embrace. When she realised what was going on she smiled and hugged her progeny back just as tightly. "Good luck"

"Thanks."

Kitty smiled sweetly as they pulled away from the hug. "Come back for your progeny's ok? I don't think me and Brittany could go on without you, you know? You're our maker and we need you"

Santana grinned. "I promise I will"

Kitty nodded and watched as her maker joined up with the team that she had selected. A few moments later and she was at the head of the group leading them up the stairs that Brody had escaped up about five minutes earlier.

When they reached the door Santana took a deep breath. "Everybody ready?" She glanced behind to see various nods before pushing forwards on the door, her added strength coming in handy. "Then let's finish this."

As soon as she opened the door they were met by waiting wolves. A large off-white one immediately lunged for her and the room erupted into chaos as the other vampires jumped into action to help their leader. Santana felt her new-found strength course through her body, her eyes flashing a bright green before changing back to their warm chocolate brown.

The wolf that had attacked her first was intent to push her back but she refused, forcing it back with her sword which was held in between it's jaws despite the fact that the metal was burning it's gums. Santana growled as she was slowly pushed back but as she channelled the warmth simmering under her skin she was able to start pushing it back, turning the tables.

It was clearly evident to them that these wolves were the strongest that they had encountered so far and most probably Cassandra's top lieutenants. They were most likely all alpha's too, the source of the added strength. But Santana had faith and that was all she needed. Her team didn't need strength, they just needed hope. Hope that things would end with them winning and coming out on top in a fair way.

As Santana pushed the wolf further and further back, not caring that her bare hand was being cut as she used it to keep things balanced. She pushed everything she had onto the blade and as it neared the wall the wolf eventually fell backwards and Santana fell with it on purpose, pinning it to the floor. Her sword was now at it's neck and she pressed down hard, the creature whimpering at the pure strength that she was exhibiting. The Latina wasted no time in pressing in even further, the blade sinking deep into it's throat and crushing it's windpipe eventually killing it.

She wasted no time in pulling herself onto her feet and spun around to see Holly in need of some help. Across the room Brittany was having problems of her own until all of a sudden a red ice pick sunk into the center of the head of wolf in front of her. Her gaze snapped to the direction it came from and Rachel smiled at her, starting to run towards her best friend.

Dodging a wolf that Quinn had sent flying Rachel weaved in and out until she reached Brittany, the blonde extracting the ice pick from the dead wolf and handing it to her.

"Thanks" Rachel smiled.

Brittany just grinned back. "No problem"

As they resumed clearing out the room so that they could progress it was clear that they were stronger than they were before. It was then as they executed the last two wolves that were in the room that they realised they were being 'enhanced' by Safiya. A brief explanation later before they made their way to where Cassandra was explained that their queen was channelling some of her power to them. It was like Santana's but the only downfall was that it was temporary. The Latina had hers permanently.

Santana threw open the doors to the final room and found both Brody and Cassandra waiting for them, just the two and nobody else. They were the only ones left.

"Ah, so glad the vampires could finally join us!" Cassandra smirked from the other side of the room. "Did you have fun slaughtering my pack?"

Santana snorted as her small team lined up about a step back and on either side of her. "Did you really think we wouldn't get through them?"

"Perhaps not. It seems as if they were just cannon fodder to you even when they were some of the strongest wolves in the entire world. How come you managed to take them down?"

Before Santana could explain Safiya did it for them. Green wisps of air enveloped the small vampire team and then disappeared shortly after their eyes all flashed green. Cassandra frowned as she took a step closer.

"Channelling your powers sister? Do you really want to be weak when you face me?"

Safiya smiled as she took a step forward now level with Santana. "No, but these vampires won't be draining me. I still have enough power to face you, you needn't worry about that"

The blonde just shook her head, focusing on Santana once more. "You seem to be in good health since Brody here last left you. How did you heal?"

"Blood, what else? You don't have to worry about me either. A stab wound isn't going to hold me back from completing what I came here to do."

"Fine. If you are so sure of yourselves why don't you show me? Brody!"

The werewolf in question felt power run through his veins like an addictive rush of burning hot addictive drugs. Moments later he shifted into his wolf form and his eyes turned purple. Knowing that he now had his masters powers running through him he turned to Santana who was watching him intently. When he lunged for her Cassandra shifted in front of them in all of her pure pure golden cream glory ready to join the fight.

The large queen wolf lunged for her sister whilst Santana dealt with the one wolf she hated more than any other, the one that had nearly killed her.

The two sides fought for power trying to gain the upper hand but the two wolves were outnumbered and the vampires had Safiya's temporary upgrades making them even stronger as they worked together. Spread out evenly, Holly, Safiya, Tina, and Marley were all focusing on the queen in the hopes that Safiya could exploit her sister for at least those few crucial seconds which would change the tides of this war and give her chance to finally kill her once and for all. The last time she had tried to get close to her sister they had failed and she had run from her problems. Safiya lived by a few very simple rules. One of which was that if it didn't go right in the moment, it probably wasn't the right time for it, it was meant for another time. In this case it was right now. She knew all those years ago that it wasn't the right time to kill Cassandra, but now she knew it was. Santana was the person she was waiting for, she was meant to meet her now and they were meant to do this together. In that moment Safiya felt more powerful and hopeful than ever and she knew that right now the death of her sister was meant to be.

Across the room Brody was determined to kill no one else but Santana. Brittany, Quinn, and Rachel were all trying their hardest to try and pull his attention from the Latina but it just wasn't working. Now was his chance to kill the vampire he hated the most, the one that had nearly killed him. They hadn't known each other long but in that time they had both nearly killed each other and were more than ready to settle the score of who was the better race. The werewolf was now beyond pissed and all he could see was Santana dead at the end of his long and sharp claws (preferably his jaws but he wasn't being picky – as long as she was dead he would be happy either way).

He was making Santana work for a shot at him and as much as he hated it she was keeping up without even breaking a sweat. He lunged at her whenever she recovered and her friends and team-mates were finding it hard to help her. When he had backed up her against one of the corners she caught sight of Brittany over his large shoulder. In a similar position as before in the previous room she had her sword wedged between his jaws, the only thing keeping her from being pushed right up against the wall and ripped to pieces.

When her and Brittany's eyes met they connected themselves to each other. Seconds later their tiger had materialised once more, this time refreshed after Santana's injury and stronger than ever. The tiger roared and Brody immediately froze in place allowing Santana to gain the upper hand. That was all she needed. She pushed him back and moving to stand next to her wife they ordered it to attack. Brody cried out as it mauled him and when it suddenly stopped he couldn't believe his luck. Unfortunately Santana wasn't letting him go that easily. Their tiger trotted over to Rachel and Quinn and sat in between them and they watched as the married couple approached the injured werewolf.

Brody whimpered and shifted back as Santana sheathed her sword and pulled him roughly to his feet, shoving him into the balcony wall and pushing him right over it so that he was hanging over the edge. Santana was the only thing between him and death.

"You nearly killed me and you deserve everything you get!"

She glanced at the blonde next to her and they shared a smile. Thoughts of the night she killed Finn entered her mind but quickly exited when she thought about how both of these men deserved it. Brittany grabbed hold of one side of him whilst Santana held the other and they proceeded to push him ever further over the balcony. Everybody in the room had stopped, including Cassandra and Safiya, long enough to watch as the wolf whimpered before the two vampires let go of him. He let out a loud cry as he fell to his death, Santana and Brittany both watching as his body connected with the sharp and jagged rocks of the mountaintop they were on.

Cassandra howled as she felt her last pack members pain fill her soul. Anger over took her entire body and rage burnt behind her eyes as she immediately started running towards the ones responsible for his death. However Safiya knew this was the moment she had been looking for.

Santana had anticipated the attack and had immediately wrapped her arms around her wife using her body as a shield. Brittany let the Latina cover her as Cassandra headed straight for them.

Taking the opening just as the wolf was about to hit her commander and the one woman she cherished more than anyone else on the planet, Safiya jumped forwards with her dagger in hand. Before the cream wolf managed to hit the couple she fell to the floor. Seconds later she shifted back to her human form. Safiya knelt down in front of her, her dagger still her hand but now bloodied.

"Goodbye sister" She said softly.

Everybody else in the room watched as the vampire queen pierced the blade deep into Cassandra's chest and into her heart. The blonde immediately went lifeless and a golden wave of air exploded from nothing and washed over the entire island and beyond, only visible to vampires and the remaining wolves alike. They felt a warmth envelope their bodies before it was reduced to a barely noticeable tingle. Cheers erupted into the room as they celebrated and hugged each other, the rest of the team entering the room as the last wolves retreated at the death of their leader.

Safiya smiled as she watched the happiness envelope the ones she now held close to her heart. When things had died down they all looked to her and a massive grin manifested itself across her face as a relief she never thought she'd experience washed over her entire body lifting the heavy weight that had been placed on her shoulders ever since birth.

"It's finally over"
