I'll cry until the candles burn down this place
I'll cry until my pity party's in flames
Edward
As her simple question hung in the air, Isabella played with the fingers of my hand that rested on her thigh.
How are our two spies looking?
Her silent inquiry made me glance at her before glancing down at the Major who nodded.
I leaned down and placed my lips on her ear. "Call them out. The Major and I will get the crosses you want and get it set up." I whispered.
I need you. The Major and Marcus can get them.
I nodded against her skin as she spoke up. "Could Nicole and Jenny step forward for a minute? Also Ryan."
"Major, take Marcus." I said almost silently.
They took off instantly as the three Isa called for stepped forward. Just as they reached the front of the gathering, Major and Marcus came back out.
I shifted Isa in my arms and dropped from the tree, coming to a stop directly in front of the three vampires in question.
I went to set Isa on her feet but she tightened her legs around my waist so I left her.
"This is the third time we've had to do this." She said sassily. "Let's try not to make it habit, shall we?"
I laughed along with Marcus and the Major as she used one of her many gifts to make them walk over to the crosses.
"Major." She said simply.
We all felt the excess effects of the emotional cocktail he was sending them to get them to answer any questions Isa had.
"Why?"
"Promise of blood and money." Nicole said lazily.
"Who?"
"We volunteered. Alice said we wouldn't be caught and Rosalie has been sending us money." Jenny added.
"How?"
"We meet up with them when we go hunting. They have someone with Aro's gift, they also don't have a scent so no one would know." Nicole answered.
"You?"
"I'm a block." Ryan said.
Isa arched a brow at him. "And how is that working out for you?"
"They said you wouldn't know how to work any of your gifts if you did have one if they changed you." he answered.
Isa rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers. Instantly, a flame lit the bottom of each cross and the three spies were burned alive.
"Anyone else want to confess anything?" she asked in a bored tone.
The resulting silence seemed to be enough for her, as she nodded and buried her face in my neck.
I ran my fingers through the ends of her hair as the Major took over.
"Like the princess said, let's not make this a habit. Dismissed."
I carried her to our shared room and set her down in the center of the room. She grabbed her toiletry bag and headed into the bathroom and I changed into some sweats at vampire speed.
The Major's earlier thoughts of Isa being a siren floated through my head as Isa started singing in the shower.
"I will leave my heart at the door. I won't say a word; they've all been said before, you know. So why don't we just play pretend, like were not scared of what is coming next or scared of having nothing left. Look, don't get me wrong. I know there is no tomorrow."
Her voice was slow and sultry; her breathing was effortless as she rolled from the first verse to the chorus.
"All I ask is if this is my last night with you, hold me like I'm more than just a friend. Give me a memory I can use, take me by the hand while we do what lover's do. It matters how this ends, because what if I never love again?"
Isabella
I was washing my hair as I sang when I heard the door open. A glance towards the door let me know it was Edward and the Major.
"I don't need your honesty, it's already in your eyes and I'm sure my eyes, they speak for me. No one knows me like you do and since you're the only one that matters, tell me who do I run to? Look, don't get me wrong. I know there is no tomorrow.
"All I ask is if this is my last night with you, hold me like I'm more than just a friend. Give me a memory I can use, take me by the hand while we do what lover's do. It matters how this ends, because with if I never love again?"
I continued to sing as I wrapped a towel around my body and started on my nightly facial routine.
"Let this be our lesson in love, let this be the way we remember us. I don't want to be cruel or vicious and I aint asking for forgiveness.
"All I ask is if this is my last night with you, hold me like I'm more than just a friend. Give me a memory I can use, take me by the hand while we do what lover's do. It matters how this ends, because what if I never love again?"
As the song came to an end, I turned to the door and gasped. Majority of the vampires that were still on the grounds were gathered in the doorway to the bathroom.
Edward and the Major headed the group followed by Marcus, Demetri, Felix, and Alec. Alexander and Michael followed, and Jack, Justin, Ethan, Jackson, and Shawn finished the gathering.
"Hi?" I said slowly.
At the sound of my greeting, Major turned to Edward and spoke slowly. "Still think she's not a siren?"
"She's not." Edward whispered.
"Then what is she?" Major asked. "Eleven of the thirteen vampires on the grounds are standing in the bathroom because none of them could avoid coming to her."
I rolled my eyes. "Hi, 'she' is still in the room and is also very naked." I sassed. "Can I get dressed and then Edward can explain what I am?"
As if they forgot I was present, the thirteen vampires glanced at me before shifting and heading out of the bathroom.
I rolled my eyes and pulled on my bra and throng set before wringing the excess water from my hair and letting it fall over my shoulders. I bit my lip and pulled on Edward's V-neck T-shirt sighing in relief as it fell to mid-thigh. No pants. I thought happily.
I ran some moisturizer through my hair and slid my glasses on my face. Leaving the bathroom, I stopped by the dresser and grabbed a pair of socks.
Pulling on the thigh high socks that left just an inch of my smooth skin exposed between them and the shirt, I covered Ang and left to find the vampires that were drawn to me.
Is my life ever easy?
A/N: Another chapter is done! Hopefully this version is better and easier to keep up with.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Review please!
The song Isa sings is All I Ask by the amazing Adele. If you haven't yet listened to 25, I recommend it highly.
