Chapter- Life back to normal... Somewhat

I ran through the museum. We closed normally at like one in the morning, to let everyone have their fun. So, after working very hard for six hours, everyone was very happy to do just that. Ahk loved to DJ or dance. I slowed my pace as more and more exhibits started to come to life. They would wave and I would wave back,"Good evening guys, glad to see you awake!"

I decided to hang with Sacagawea tonight and calmly walked over to her exhibit. Kota skidded around the corner in excitement as he caught up to me.

Sacagawea smiled when she saw me,"McKenna, how was your work?"

"Good, Kota and I did a lot if walking around. We found a couple of kids separated from their families. Kota called then down and then I got them to the information desk."

Sacagawea nodded,"Shall I braid your hair?"

I sat in front of her and smiled,"Yes please!" Sacagawea ran her hands through my hair and easily started a simple braid,"How was your work day?"

Sacagawea sighed as she worked,"Good. Good. Rebecca stopped by an told me her project is going into its final stages-"

"YAY!"

"-and I managed to teach a few girls a few things about survival skills."

I smiled,"Awesome!"

That's when Larry ran up,"McKenna! Kenna! I have great news!"

I looked up, I'd been hoping for good news for weeks, after the battle at the Smithsonian, I had practically written all our previous adventure with the tablet and then started anew with this one. The first transcript of the first story about our discovery that everything came to life in the museum, had made it to about twenty publishers and so far not a peep from any of them.

Larry was all smiles as he had my agent on the other end of his phone,"They loved your book! Two of them, actually, their bidding on it right now."

Oh my god! Oh my god! I'm going to be a published author and in not even out of high school! I wanted to scream, I couldn't believe it!

I squealed and hugged Larry so tight I thought he'd burst.

I immediately started running around the museum shouting the good news. I finally came to a halt at the Egyptian wing. I checked my hair and calmed down before I walked in,"Ahk," I called out happily," Ahk!"

Ahkmenrah took quick steps as he came to meet me, I don't know why but the sounds of his jewelry clanking as he walked somehow comforted me,"Yes, McKenna?"

I pulled him into a hug,"I'm so happy! Ahk, Two publishers are bidding over my book! They want to publish it!"

Ahkmenrah wrapped his arms around me in a hug,"I'm very happy for you Kenna. This is fantastic news."

Ahk held me for a moment more and then released me, as if becoming very self-conscious, he stuttered,"I, um, I, uh, Have you told anyone else?"

"Not directly, I was practically screaming about it the whole way here."

Ahk held out his arm for me,"Perhaps I can escort you to make a proper announcement?"

I smiled and took his arm,"Let's!"
