Chapter 37

The Lookout was a scene of complete chaos. Every Saiyan in Vegeta's entourage including the prince himself gathered in the courtyard and prepared for battle. Thanks to Nappa's watchful eye they knew exactly where Frieza had touched down and how far away the landing zone was. The ragtag band looked to their warrior prince awaiting orders to which he happily obliged, "It seems our guest of honor has arrived; and he's brought friends…"

Soft laughter echoed from the Saiyans as he continued, "I don't know about you but I for one feel we should greet him with a welcoming party of our own!" At this point the jokes were over and Vegeta got serious to inspire his troops, "For years we've served Frieza without question, without regret and he repaid us in our blood!"

The Saiyans began roaring their approval, "YEAH!"

Vegeta continued, "He killed our brothers and sisters!"

"YEAH!"

"Our sons and daughters!"

"YEAH!"

"And most of all, our King and Queen!"

"YEAH! KILL HIM- DEATH TO FRIEZA!"

"Now the time has come to repay the tyrant for everything he's given us by tenfold! This planet will be our battlefield and the place of our last and finest stand… AND TODAY THE RIVERS OF EARTH WILL RUN RED WITH HIS BLOOD!"

On that note the small army of battle hardened Saiyans screamed with bloodlust raising their fists into the air. "YEAHHHHH!" Then they took to the air going off to battle leaving Vegeta and his two sisters. Walking up to them Elsa asked, "What can I do to help?"

"By staying out of the way and leave this fight to the true warriors!" The prince arrogantly declared before shooting off. Dawn gave a sympathetic look attempting to be the voice of reason, "He's right. This fight will be many things but easy is not one of them. Vegeta won't admit it but we need Saber… We'll try to buy some time out there and give Saber a chance to finish his training. But if things don't go the way we want them and Frieza gets by us; someone needs to be here to hold him off."

Elsa grasped the Saiyan princess's logic and nodded her head in agreement. Although she hoped it wouldn't come to that, the Queen knew she was Earth's last line of defense until Saber arrived. "I'll do my best." Dawn smiled saying, "I knew there was a reason Saber liked you." and flew off. Andromeda stayed behind long enough to reason with her daughter, "Seritha, I want you to stay here and help Queen Elsa guard the Dragon Balls."

Her daughter had a disappointed look on her face and began to protest, "Guard the Dragon Balls? Mother I'm a warrior like you… I can take care of myself!"

"I know you can, but I can't risk losing another child to Frieza." Andromeda answered trying to hide her pain. "I know that look in your eye, you want to avenge Stryker. You lost your brother and you're out for blood, I get that but you have to know your limits. Stay here." Then with that she flew off leaving her daughter behind. The little Saiyan balled her fists in anger before storming off. "Yeah, she's defiantly Stryker's sister!" Anna muttered under her breath. Although Elsa agreed with Andromeda's decision, part of her couldn't help but feel sorry for the little Saiyan, Seritha. Still she it was a wise decision on her part; either way there was going to be a bloodbath.

Meanwhile the Saiyan horde blasted their way across the sky preparing for their massive counterattack. Vegeta lead the pack with his two sisters on both sides of him while General Nappa was on their Six leading the rest of the warriors. Calling up to the prince he yelled, "Vegeta, according to my scouter Frieza touched down in a wasteland southeast of our position. It'll take about thirty minutes to get there; that is if we don't get caught off guard first."

"Frieza's bound to send his boys out if only to the annoyances out of the way."

"But it's not his style, what makes you think he'll milk something like this, Vegeta?" Dawn asked.

"Because it's personal now. Frieza's expecting Saber so they can finish their long awaited fight." The warrior arrogantly smirked and added, "This whole time he's worried over one Saiyan prince when it's the other one coming for him today!" He laughed manically and shot on ahead of the others.

As the spiky haired prince neared his target the bloodthirsty smile never left his face. Don't worry father you were partially right, one of your sons will defeat Frieza and become the Super Saiyan of legend… you just favored the wrong one!

Pushing his bitterness aside Vegeta focused back on the task at hand and touched down a large plateau casing the other Saiyans to follow suit. Nappa walked up beside him while muttering, "What a dump."

"Agreed." The Saiyan prince responded while looking out upon the barren wasteland stretching before them. There were more plateaus standing tall around them while large foothills towered high above the parched ground. This was indeed the perfect battleground.

Bardock pointed towards the distance shouting, "Hear they come!" The other Saiyans knew exactly what he was talking about before following his finger. Miles away hundreds of Frieza's henchmen were flying through the air and closing in on their position. Nappa looked over to Vegeta saying, "They have us outnumbered by at least fifteen to one."

"Frieza should have brought more men…" The arrogant prince joked turning to face the massive General. "My sisters and I will deal with Frieza. I want you and the other warriors to take care of the bottom feeders."

"Sure thing, Vegeta." Nappa answered.

Not even a second later the baldheaded warrior formed a giant white ball of Ki in his hand and said, "Let the games begin." and threw it hard. The energy attack shot across the wasteland and raced towards its target. By the time Frieza's soldiers could gather what was coming the ball had already reached them. "Incoming!" One of them shouted right before it slammed into him along with twenty other fighters around him. The ferocity of the attack was devastating as it sent a massive shock wave which went along perfectly with the violent explosion that was produced. Nappa grinned with satisfaction listening to the distant screams while Vegeta commented, "Not bad…" Floating into the air he surveyed the damage and watched the enemy regroup and reform their ranks. "Either they're really stupid, really brave, or really suicidal." Turning to Andromeda and Dawn the prince added, "See you on the other side." and then bolted towards the oncoming threat. General Nappa let out a bloodthirsty roar and followed Vegeta into battle with the other Saiyans following suit.

Meanwhile all of the Earthlings along with Seritha watched the battle from the safety of Kami's throne room. Yajirobe nervously ate from his bag of candy while Korin gripped his walking staff nervously stating, "And so it begins…"

Looking into the giant mirror mounted on the wall Elsa saw the Saiyans race towards Frieza's soldiers. All of them flew through the air screaming with bloodlust and not showing a hint of fear. Vegeta lead the pack with Andromeda, Dawn, and Nappa right behind him with the countless other warriors brining up the rear. Some of them fired off energy attacks as they continued to race into battle while others blocked off enemy firepower discharging from the weapons that Frieza's men possessed. Both sides were closing in now and the bloodbath was mere seconds away from officially beginning.

Back on the battlefield Vegeta powered up his Ki and slammed through Frieza's ranks blasting past countless Pee-ons. The Saiyan horde collided into battle moments later commencing an all out dog fight. While the Saiyan prince continued blasting through the enemy ranks killing a few soldiers in the process, the other Saiyans continued holding their own on the other side of the battlefield.

Nappa towered over most of the other fighters around him easily intimidating many of his enemies. He grabbed one soldier with his massive grip body slamming him into the ground before stomping the back of his head in. After doing that he blew a hole through another man's chest that tried rushing him and grabbed two more troops slamming them into each other. Bardock and Gine stood back to back systematically repelling enemies with a combination of energy attacks and hand to hand combat. A green skinned soldier seemingly came out of nowhere and almost discharged his weapon in Bardock's face before Gine threw a small dagger killing him instantly. Looking over to his wife he smiled saying, "I knew there was a reason why I loved you!"

Dawn and Andromeda eventually found each other as the older sister declared, "We need to find Vegeta right now. That fool's going to get himself killed!" The younger sister replied with a quick nod, "I'm right behind you." On that note Andromeda shot into the air with Dawn on her tail. The female warriors flew across the killing field knocking away and incinerating every adversary that made the mistake of standing in their way. Andromeda parried and countered one attack that a black alien with red spikes threw at her before connecting with a jab to the chin loosening several of his teeth in the process. As the creature went crashing down towards the surface below; an orange man with thousands of scales covering him attempted to flank Dawn. Luckily the Saiyan princess saw the ugly monster coming and dodged his large boot that tried to slam into her face. Once the kick passed her face she grabbed the alien creature's leg completely snapping it like a twig. Her foe howled in pain doubling over which gave Dawn the opportunity she needed to finish him off. Grabbing him by the hair on his head she pulled him closer sending a Ki blast to his stomach.

The two sisters kept racing across the battlefield as the Saiyans and Frieza's forces continued to clash around them. Just when they were almost out of the kill zone thirty more opponents surrounded and eyed them like rabid dogs. "You're not going anywhere your majesty's!" A green snakelike man declared.

Just when he was about to order his men to attack, Nappa appeared and went on the offensive. The massive warrior swiped away one minion after another effortlessly deflecting all of their punches and kicks. He then body slammed the enemy leader pinning him down with his massive boot while snapping another soldier's neck with his bare hands in the process. Blasting away several more of them with an intense energy attack he turned to Andromeda and Dawn shouting, "I'll take it from here. You two catch up with Vegeta!"

Andromeda nodded shooting off as Dawn replied, "Thank you, Nappa." and then flew away to catch up with her sister.

A few minutes later the two sisters caught up with Vegeta who was staring down Frieza's spaceship. The craft was round and massive dwarfing a few nearby hills. It stood on giant metal legs which sprawled out from underneath it making the ship look like a giant metallic crab. Dozens of small purple viewports dotted the outer section of the spacecraft while a massive window sat at the front and center of everything- obviously the ship's command deck. "Frieza thinks he's safe inside his little tin can…." As he was speaking Vegeta formed a ball of blue energy which continued to grow by the second…. "Sometimes you have to flush the rat out in order to kill him."

Andromeda knew what he was about to do and tried to stop him, "Vegeta wait, if we're going to fight him like this than we need a plan!" Unfortunately he wasn't listening and continued to grow the Ki. The attack grew a quarter of a mile in diameter and was mere seconds away from being thrown. "Vegeta stop!" Dawn screamed but the prince still wasn't listening. Using all of his might he threw his hand forward releasing the Ki and sent it barreling towards Frieza's spaceship. The massive blew ball collided into its target producing a blinding white light followed by a sonic boom that shook the entire landscape.

BOOM!

The three Saiyans covered their eyes and struggled to maintain their balance as a violent earthquake shook the world around them.

The light finally died down revealing Vegeta's desolation. The ship was all but completely destroyed leaving only pieces of broken glass and scrap metal in the aftermath of the attack. The ground around it was completely gone as well with an enormous crater sitting in the position that the ship had occupied only moments before. Vegeta allowed an arrogant smirk to cross his face and admire the damage that he caused. A part of him couldn't help but wonder if Frieza had even survived at all.

Unfortunately that question answered itself.

"Now was that completely necessary?" A soft voice asked sarcastically.

The three warriors went blue in the face when they looked up to see the tyrant himself standing mere feet away. Frieza stood high above them on top of a nearby boulder with his hands behind his back staring at his wrecked ship. "Such a shame… that ship was a gift from my father." He looked to the Saiyans and added, "Typical monkeys, no manners whatsoever!" He hopped down from the large rock saying, "You wanted me, Vegeta, now you have me."

Hello there my friends I'm baaaack! Sorry it took so long I was suffering from a minor case of writers block among other things but I'm back in the saddle again and feel so relieved to finally have this newest update for you. I sure hoped that you all enjoyed this and I hope I delivered on the action part.

Now that Vegeta, Andromeda, and Dawn have finally found Frieza it's about to hit the fan. Will they be able to hold the tyrant off and buy Saber enough time to join in on the fight? Or is their battle completely in vain? Well you'll just have to read on in future chapters to find out! ; )

My answer, "Don't worry I've got something for that whenever I write a sequel…. I won't ruin any surprises but I've been thinking of some awesome ideas for the Trunks role in upcoming sequels to this story.

Now this next one also came from a guest who wrote,

"Ok honest opinion, who would win between current Saber and Namek Saga Goku?"

My answer, Oh man that is an awesome question! To be honest I'm not sure, that would be such an epic and close fight…. However If I had to pick one I'd say Saber. (Not because he's my OC though) Both Saiyans are awesome fighters and you certainly can't go wrong either way but I'd give the upper hand to Saber, if only by a hair. Hopefully you'll see why soon enough ; )

Now to my next reviewer who is also a guest who said,

"You make Vegeta sound like he's around 26, but since Vegeta is like five years older than Goku that makes Goku 21, if that's true than this event doesn't fit in the DBZ line since it's between the end of DB and the start of DBZ. Am I correct?"

My answer, Well truth be told this story doesn't fit in with the DB or DBZ timeline because it's an alternate universe of sorts. That's part of the reason why Vegeta is a lot younger in this story. Vegeta was 29 at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z when his character was first introduced into the show, while in here he's in his early twenties. It's strange I know but I wanted to keep the characters a little younger for this story.
