69 Harry's POV
Finally, Danny fell asleep, looking relaxed for the first time since we had left Tom's house. He looked so innocent laying between me and Dougie, like a little boy, who just needed a cuddle from the person who made him feel safe. At least me and Dougie could be here for him for now, to try and help him along, being without Tom was worrying poor Danny to an early grave. I could understand why he was so worried, but I still (half) believed that this was all part of Tom's treatment, and that he was getting better. We just saw the Tom that was so scared to have us leave him again, who missed us so much, possibly more than we missed him. We didn't know how he behaved without us there, he could have been alright, we didn't know!
Somehow, I managed to beat down all my thoughts and fell asleep too, Dougie had already dropped off on top of Danny's chest, his arms wrapped around mine like he thought I was his lizard toy or a blanket. I didn't mind, whatever made him happy. I just rested my hand gently on my husbands cheek, the other was wrapped around Danny's shoulders, my arm was going numb but it didn't matter. Nothing mattered as long as we were all safe and asleep, escaping our worries for a few hours, just hoping Tom could do the same.
I was woken up when it was still dark, someone was shifting around on the bed, making small whines. I found that it was Danny, whimpering Tom's name, shuffling around in the covers. "Danny, Danny calm down. You're dreaming, shhh." I tried to calm him down without waking him up. "Tom, Tom come back." Danny whimpered again, his hold on both me and Dougie tightening. "shh Danny, its a dream." I gently ran a hand through his hair, that seemed to help. Danny calmed down, turning over and wrapped both of his arms around me, nuzzling into my neck, falling quiet. "what the hell?" Dougie mouthed, looked confused. "no clue, nightmare?" I suggested, shrugging carefully, pulling Dougie closer so I could wrap my arms around both my younger friends.
"probably." Dougie agreed, hugging us both. "go back to sleep, we'll talk in the morning." I whispered, gently kissing his head, stroking back a bit of his fringe and tucking it behind his ear. Dougie smiled a little and shifted forward a little more, so somehow all three pairs of our legs were entangled together. Soon he was asleep again, so I took the chance to catch a little more shut eye myself, knowing that tomorrow wasn't exactly going to be fun. It was only Wednesday, we still had a few more days until Tom and Danny could be reunited.
To be honest, those days weren't too bad, Danny was just as depressed and worried, but we were almost used to it by now. It was all just a game of keeping him away from sharp objects (nothing had happened as far as we knew, but it was always better safe than sorry) and trying to cheer him up a little. Generally, letting Danny run down to Tom's house and fall asleep on his sofa (never his bed, that was far too wrong, apparently) was working, as well as giving him a lot of hugs, trying to show that he was still loved and we would be seeing Tom soon. And really, that seemed to be all that Danny wanted to hear.
70 Dougie's POV
Saturday morning, we were woken up by a very excited Danny, who had somehow managed to get out from between our arms and get ready without waking us up. "guys come on! You have to get up! We need to see Tom! Tom needs us!" Danny shook us both until we got up, almost whining at us to hurry up. "Danny, it is 9am in the morning, visiting hours don't start until eleven, calm down, we have two hours." Harry made Danny sit on the bed, the poor boy looking so disappointed. "but it takes an hour to get there! We can't miss an hour driving up there!" Danny whimpered, like he actually believed that we would be late.
"Danny, have we ever been late before?" I asked, he shook his head, "exactly, we won't be late today then, will we? We'll follow our usual routine, and it'll be fine, alright?" I smiled, rubbing his back. "alright, if you're sure." Danny sighed, fiddling with his fingers. "I'm sure. Now, calm down. We'll get there soon." I encouraged, bouncing back up again as Harry came out the bathroom. I quickly washed and dressed, deciding to leave Tom's shirt in the house, in case he noticed that I was wearing it. I was going to change it soon, it wasn't smelling it very Tom like at the moment, it smelt more like the three of us, which was defeating the point of wearing it to be honest.
Finally, we decided to get a move on and get to Tom. Danny perked up even more, sitting in the back of the car with Carrie, practically bouncing in excitement the whole way there. It was amazing to see the change in Danny when he knew we were off to see his boyfriend, he was depressed from the minute we left the ward, but Saturday mornings he was practically bouncing off the walls in excitement. It had always been like him to be like that really, whenever Tom went on holiday or something, Danny was always down. But the second he knew that Tom was on his way to him, he was happy and bouncy again, running into his boyfriend and almost knocking him over with happiness. It was quite cute really, to see how Tom changed Danny, almost like he completed him.
Todays reunion between Tom and Danny was so cute too, the second they saw each other, they ran down the hallway, capturing each other in their arms. Danny spun Tom round in a circle, cradling his blonde head in his shoulder, the both of laughing together, looking like a perfect couple. "I missed you so much Tommy! I missed you so badly!" Danny whispered, kissing Tom's face all over. "I missed you too Danny! I missed you all!" Tom jumped down from Danny's arms and hugged us both too, as he always did. He always made sure to hug us when we turned up, like he was making sure that we knew that we loved him too. "we missed you too Tom. We always do." I squeezed him tightly, noting that there a little bit more of Tom to hold this week, that was good.
"hey, what does a little sister have to do to get a hug round here?" Carrie joked a while later, Tom let go of us and bolted to his sister, almost knocking her over. "hey Tom, I missed you too." Carrie grinned, squeaking when Tom managed to pick her up a few inches off the ground.
