Chapter 36: Go Down
It took a bit for the dust to clear from the attack Shade had used. It slowly began to clear, revealing that part of the castle wall have been destroyed. Also the eclipse was over. Sakura and the others in their bodies examined themselves. They could see that they weren't fully materialized. But slowly and surely they were becoming more solid. Until then, they could only wait and watch. The others slowly were regaining consciousness. Nicholas picked himself up along with Fara. The others who once had the Krazoa also did so.
"Is everyone alright?" asked Wolf. The six then looked up and saw Kareem and Arielle. The two wolves had used their Energy Shields to protect themselves. But they looked banged up and appeared to be unconscious.
"Kareem! Arielle!" exclaimed Nicholas. The two older wolfs didn't respond. "Hey! Snap out of it! Let's-" The part Cerinian vulpine then stopped as he saw Shade in front of the rulers. With two back hands, the enemy sent the older species back to the side.
"You guys!" shouted Fara.
"You're first," stated Shade and did the same thing as before to try to steal their energy for those who had once held the Krazoa in their bodies. They let out gasps of pain.
"No!" exclaimed Kareem as he and his wife struggled to get up. "Leave them alone!"
Just when it looked like the six would have their energy fully drained, a shot was heard and Shade got hit in the side of the head, stopping the process. The coyote went down to the ground as Nicholas, Fara, Fox, Krystal, Wolf, and Luna gasped for breath. Looking it was another clone trooper who had made the shot.
"You're target is the coyote standing there!" went a voice over some kind of intercom. "Make sure you don't shoot any of the others by mistake!" Suddenly all of the clone troopers fighting made it to the area and began to set up positions to attack including the dinosaurs and other species that had been fighting. The guys grabbed their girls while four clones got Kareem and Arielle. Shade slowly rose up and looked to see what had attacked him. Those that were slowly coming alive stepped back to just watch.
"FIRE!" shouted one of the troopers. The guns were used along with other things. They landed on the enemy but the shield came out.
"Hey McCoy!" commented one of the troopers handling the rulers. "Are you okay?"
"It's bad! He didn't even flinch!"
"Seriously?!"
Shade swung his right arm unleashing his Energy Beam technique. But it didn't hit the guys trying to get away. "Don't give the bastard a chance to fight back!" ordered a clone commander.
The other troops and others fighting kept firing. They saw that none of the attacks had gotten through. "Damn; that guy's not even breaking a sweat!" went a clone who was looking for the commander.
"Copy that!" went the clone commander. "Put me through!"
"Right!" stated a lieutenant who was out on the battle field who was talking to the commander by radio. "If you're sure! Take cover guys! NOW!"
Suddenly everyone could see Flame's Rage being used. It hit Shade. After the smoke cleared it showed that the shield had protected him again. The coyote looked along with everyone else. It was the rest of Star Fox, Star Flight, Star Wolf, The Hot Rodders, along with the rulers, Council of 13, dinosaur rulers, friends, and family. All weapons were out.
"Now that we are here, it's time for you to die!" stated Worriz.
"No matter how strong you are, we won't lose!" exclaimed his wife and used her special Energy Beam technique. Shade caught it with his sword and sent it back at this large group. Her husband took it upon himself to knock it away from them. The clones, dinos, and species continued to attack.
"Don't give him a chance to fight back! Make him use up his energy!" shouted Lucas. All of these guys had been brought up to speed on what was going on. This large group began to go on the offensive. Nicholas and the other five had gotten to a safe spot including Arielle and Kareem to watch. The shield kept popping up to defend the coyote. But those against him kept it up.
"He won't survive this!" stated Worriz. All the rulers then used their special Energy Beam techniques at the same time. They all collided with their target. But when the smoke and fire lifted, it showed that Shade was still unharmed.
"No effect at all!" exclaimed Mitch.
"Did you really think you could crush me and my shield with sheer numbers and power?" asked the enemy. "How naive. No, my understanding of the word 'power' is probably different from yours. Let me teach you. When I talk about power…" The coyote suddenly used the speed booster technique to get in front of Lennox and his wife with his sword raised. "This is what I'm talking about."
"Sand Bullets!" shouted the ruler of sand. Shade simply dodged these and slashed Lennox from his left shoulder to left hip. The canine gasped in pain before going down. Liuwa shouted and swung her Cerinian weapon. The enemy blocked it with a simple flick of his wrist. With a smirk he struck the female ruler of stone down as well. Her eyes went wide with shock. The other rulers seeing this went on the attack with either their weapons or special Energy Beam techniques. Shade just smiled evilly.
"That's right," thought the slowly reviving Sakura as she watched the coyote catch one of the weapons. "Shade isn't feared because of his Cerinian weapon or skill with it. Yes, both those things are terrifying. But that alone would not have been enough to subdue those who would rather die than to obey. There was only one reason why those powerful part Cerinians and others were able to function as a group, despite their personal motives. Because he's strong. All of Shade's abilities are far beyond anyone else's. You're going to take precautions against his weapon? Your plans aren't good enough. You're going to take precautions against everything else? You're plans still aren't good enough. Even if you gather your minds, and take precautions against unfortunate events like the sky falling, or the earth splitting, Shade's abilities are far beyond your plans."
While the vixen had been thinking this the coyote had managed to strike down the rest of the rulers. Rina, her husband, Bryn, her raven husband, Tiger, Samantha, Reed, and his wife had gone in to attack. Shade just dodged their attacks before slashing at their bodies. "Really?" asked the enemy. "Can't you see? Even the elemental rulers couldn't stop me. What hope do you mere part Cerinians have?" The wounds then showed on the ones that had attack and they went down. "You should have just stayed back."
Nicholas and the other five were looking on in shock. Images of the ones that had been struck down flashed through their minds. "You're kidding, right?" asked the part Cerinian vulpine in shock. The remaining members of their teams just stood back as the remaining part Cerinians stepped forward to attack.
"Well now, do you think you can do any better?" asked the enemy. "You can see my power. Why bother attacking me when it's futile."
"That may be," responded Brooke. "But we have to try to make you use up that energy!" The female wolf moved and suddenly there were more of her.
"You've gotten that fast to produce clones? Not bad," stated Shade.
"This will be the last thing you see!" Brooke charged in. But the coyote was ready. Suddenly Sarah used her special Energy Beam technique to hold the enemy in place. This caused his eyes to go wide with shock before getting stabbed by the she wolf. "This will end it!"
The female lunged and it looked like she had gotten Shade. "Did you really think that would stop me?" he asked. Brooke's eyes went wide with shock to see that the coyote had stopped the blade long before it reached his heart. "How amusing. But you won't reach me! You are fighting against a god like being." Shad then broke out of Sarah's technique. The coyote raised his sword to attack. But before he could strike, Mitch managed to stab him in the back. "What?!" asked Shade.
"How careless of you," commented the lupine. "It seems even you can be caught off guard."
"Fuck…" growled the enemy. "You bastard."
"It's over Shade," commented Lucas. The vulpine had a beam sword ready. He then charged in.
"You really are young," thought Shade, getting ready to meet this attack. "You recklessly charge in when you see a chance at victory. That is your biggest shortcoming, Lucas McCoy." He then looked and saw out of the corner of his eyes that the remaining part Cerinians, Pecker, Celestia, and other members of the mercenary teams were attacking either with laser fire or special Energy Beam techniques. "Damn it!" thought the enemy. "I can't dodge this!" Lucas used the speed booster technique to get behind the enemy just as the attack collided. The shield came out but couldn't stop the vulpine as he stabbed the coyote right through the heart. Shade gasped in pain and his eyes went wide with shock. Growling, he tried to remove the beam sword from his chest with his left paw, but couldn't do it. In a few moments, the paw fell and Shade seemed to die.
"They… they did it…" stated a clone trooper. "They did it! Those guys finally did it!"
The ones who had been fighting let out a cheer. But Sarah made no response at all. "Good grief," stated Pecker. "That was quite the effort, but we finally turned things around. It's over at last."
Nicholas and his group were watching on with shocked eyes. It was the part Cerinian vulpine who spoke. "Guys… You guys… WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" His tone caused everyone to take another look. To their shock what Lucas had his beam sword in was none other than Sarah.
"Wha…?!" asked Celestia.
"Sa-!" began Brooke.
"Sarah?!" asked Lucas in shock. Pecker than realized something.
"Look out!" shouted the avian. But it was too late. The council of 13 members were attacked and sent down. And standing where the vixen had been was Shade himself with an evil grin.
"How?!" growled Pecker.
"How you asked?" responded the enemy. "Let me tell you. I am a god which means I can do whatever I want. I can create and destroy and my powers have increased. I can now also create illusions that can control all five senses of an individual making them hallucinate all sorts of things. Only those who have once had the Krazoa inside of them are immune to this."
"Is that so?" asked the avian. "Then since when have you used this!"
"Let me ask you something. When did you think that I wasn't using such a power like this?" Pecker got it; Shade had been using it all this time. Lucas in the meantime took the beam sword out of his wife and cradled her in his arms. Grief and shock was on the vulpine's face
"Luc… as…" gasped the vixen. "Why…?" It caused her husband to snap. He let out a heart wrenching cry of loss, pain, and anger. The enemy looked on with an evil smile. Lucas placed his wife down and lunged forward, hell-bent on killing Shade.
"Hold on a second!" shouted Celestia. "Lucas McCoy!" Everyone knew what he was going to do.
"You're full of opening," commented the coyote. "All of you." His sword came down and cut the vulpine from his right hip to right arm. Shade turned his head and saw Brooke and Mitch coming in. These two were struck down quickly. The parents and remaining friends along with Pecker and Celestia charged in. The avians struck with their weapons, but the enemy knocked them back with his sword. The mothers and fathers came in but Shade used the speed booster technique to avoid their attacks and strike them down. The future rulers came back, but the coyote was ready for them. He moved his right arm that was holding his weapon in a complex movement which caught the avians off guard. The next thing they knew, they had been slashed at.
Nicholas and his group just watched this with shock on their faces. The enemy then sent out an energy wave which knocked down the clone troopers, dinos, all the other part Cerinians, non-ones, and members of the mercenary teams down hard. "No… fucking…. way…" gasped Lucas before his body hit the ground. The situation now seemed hopeless as Shade let out another evil smirk.
