There's this feeling you get when you can't believe your eyes to what's right in front of you. Sometimes it can be for something unbelievably happy like a proposal or even a surprise that fills your stomach with tiny, fluttering butterflies. Other times, times like this, the bile in your stomach creeps slowly up your esophagus and a piercing ringing in your ear tries to cover up the situation in front of you.
Unfortunately for Ziva, the impeccable timing and nausea could not cover up what she was looking at. Tony gulped, holding the door open and tried to hide as much of the scene behind him as he could, too afraid to move.
Too late.
Ziva's eyes darted straight to the back of the hotel room, the bed where a blonde woman was currently resting. Her pale bare legs were crossed together over the hotel comforter, Tony's button up shirt covering the rest of her body and her head was staring towards the skyline scene out the window. Ziva's eyes rushed back to meet with Tony's, flames engulfing her own before she spoke, "I see this was more important than your child's birthday." A sudden reminder that her two little ones were in fact, standing beside her in the hallway and looking at the woman behind their father. She shushed them away, Isabella holding up her arms towards Tony and Ziva pushed her tiny arms down, moving both of her children to the hall wall where they could no longer see in or see Tony. "Ty, go push the button for the elevator with your sister please and I will be right there." Ziva ordered, never taking her eyes off Tony while waiting for the movement of her children from the corner of her left eye.
"But— Daddy?" Ty asked, confused and sensing the emotion off his mother.
"Go," Ziva ordered once more, tears threaten to spill from her ears as she continued. "I cannot fucking believe you." She muttered to Tony.
"Baby, if you would let me… I can explain-" Tony pleaded, his voice breaking.
"Explain that you were willing to miss your child's birthday to go fuck another woman?! Oh my god," Her voice was tightening on every thought that occurred in her head. "You were willing to use the excuse of work to cheat on me." The tears rushed down her eyes now, dropping to the carpeted hallway of the hotel and Tony swore he heard glass breaking. "You know what, Dinozzo? Fuck you. I…I… I gave you everything! How long has this been going on?!" She shoved him into the door frame, the anger breaking through every barrier she had built. "How dare the man, the man that I love, the man that rescued me so many times cheat on me? I believed in you, you asshole!" Her fists curled up on the skin of his collarbone, Tony's face wincing at the pain. "And how dare you let our children see this?!"
"Zee, I swear to god I love you. I'm not ly-" Tony started, but was interrupted by the sound of the elevator dinging.
"Mommy, elle-a-vay-tur (elevator) is here." Ty called out, holding Isabella's hand.
"Elle-fant!" Isabella squealed and Ty shook his head. "No, Bella. We're not widing (riding) an elephant! It's an elle-a-vay-tur! See!" He pointed inside the elevator car, but his sister ignored him as she heard her mother's voice rise.
"I fucking hate you. Do not ever think of coming near us three again. I am no longer your wife and they are no longer your children." Ziva threatened in a harsh whisper, her finger nails scraping into the skin of Tony's chest before letting go and hurriedly running down the hallway. She wiped one last tear and grabbed both Isabella and Ty's hands, rustling into the elevator to get out of there as soon as possible. Tony chased after them, bare in only his boxers and Ziva scoffed in disgust at him as the doors of the elevator closed. Her tear soaked face the last thing Tony saw before the doors closed.
"No, no, no." Tony begged, hitting the buttons of the elevator to make the car stop. Much to his luck, the doors kept closed and he heard the elevator move to another floor with his life, his family…his everything in it. He curled his fist, pounding into the metal doors of the elevator and cursed the world. The sting left in his knuckles was nothing compared to the sting left in his heart.
I am no longer your wife and they are no longer your children.
That was it. He lost everything he ever dreamed about having… and finally was able to have. He trudged slowly back to the hotel room or rather, hell. If he was fast enough packing his shit together, he could hopefully catch him family and try to redeem everything back in time for Ty's birth-
Fuck. His birthday. Ty's birthday. It was today. He had been too caught up in trying to cover up the woman in his hotel room and forgot to wish his son a Happy Birthday. Tony groaned, gripped the top of the door, his bruised knuckles turning white from the pressure and shook the door right off the hinges.
"Um, what just happened?" Lisa asked him, throwing her legs off the bed and sitting up.
"Get out!" Tony yelled, the echo radiating into the now open hallway.
"You just broke the door of the hotel." She laughed, sipping the drink next to the bed before coughing. "Shit, that's vodka."
"What part of get out don't you understand?!" He yelled once again, getting closer to her and she flinched when she noticed how upset he was. "I just lost the three people who mean the fucking most to me and you're still here like you matter."
"Wow, don't get all upset at me. You're the one who slept with me." She remarked, standing up and unbuttoning his shirt.
"I – I- no. I didn't even know where I was last night and I was upset that some things were falling apart. You took advantage of that, Lisa! You know I have a wife-" He turned away from the naked woman standing in front of him.
"Had a wife." She corrected him, smirking and holding out his shirt to him. "You can at least look at me. I'm just naked, not like I have cooties."
"I don't want to!" He complained, grabbing his shirt harshly away from her and throwing the rest of her clothes on the ground at her. "Look, just go! I need to go find them."

Ziva couldn't bring herself to go back up to that hotel room floor. They had rode the elevator up to the 40th floor and now were descending down again. She gripped onto the handles within the car, trying to regain her breath and pull herself together for the sake of the kids.
"Mommy?" Ty tapped her side, "Are you okay? Why didn't Daddy come wiff (with) us?" His innocent eyes peered up at her and she felt like crying again.
"Yes, my love." She answered, hugging him tightly to her side and picking up Isabella. "In time I will be."
