I stand there unmoving, not blinking. I'm afraid if I blink he'll be gone. I stare at him in awe before blinking because my eyes got to dry. When I open my eyes he's still there. The next thing I know is that I'm crying in my father's arms, clinging to him. He's real I can feel him and his heart beating. Even though it's not an Abnegation thing to do, my father hugs me back almost to the point where I can't breath.
After a few minutes we pull apart slightly and I look at him. "How are you alive? Why are you in Erudite?" I aks him.
"I'm in Erudite because I just woke up. They haven't explained everything to me yet but from what they have told me is that since most of the Erudite that exist now and after Jeanine went down wanted to side with Abnegation for the most part they decided to help me and bring me back. It also helps that I was originally from here." My father began explaining.
"You died in Dauntless how did they know you were dead."
"Some Erudite came with Dauntless to assist Jeanine and found me. They rushed me back to Erudite and hid me from Jeanine's view and got me to stable condition. They kept me in a medically induced comma and with everything after Jeanine… I've heard talks… they didn't think it was safe for them wake me. When you returned to the living they started to work on getting me awake."
"What about mom? They couldn't help her? Have you heard from Caleb?" I blurt out. I feel Tobias put his hands on my shoulders.
"Tris…" Tobias's voice warns me that maybe I'm asking to much right now, after all my father claims to have just woken up.
"She's fine Tobias." My father nods at Tobias. I can feel Tobias shift slightly behind me, stiffening his body.
"How do you know my name again?" Tobias asked. He probably forgot after everything that has been going on for the last year.
"I was there when Beatrice went to save you in Dauntless. Marcus I think said it." Tobias's hands tighten on my shoulders causing me to flinch. "Speaking of Marcus, I believe that he's the one who is supposed to bring me home to Abnegation."
"Well then I'm sure you'd like a little rest for a bit before having to make that trip. We have to make sure we're ready for the Choosing Ceremony." I smile at my father, I need to get Tobias out of here before Marcus shows up or else he might break my shoulders.
"I can rest at Abnegation, Beatrice. I heard you were leadership at Dauntless. It might be a while before we can really sit down like this." My father frowns.
"I know dad, I'm sorry but there's some stuff that I left at Dauntless that I need for the Choosing Ceremony today."
"No Tris, you stay and catch up with your father. I'll go get what you forgot." Tobias smiles slightly at me. I bite my lip.
"Okay, take Evan with you." Tobias nods and kisses my head before leaving the room. I smile softly before looking at my father, who looks tense.
"Should we sit?" I ask looking around. My father nods, he still seems tense about the kiss to my head. "Why are you tense?"
"Dauntless has taught you everything that is the opposite of what your mother and I taught you. Isn't he a little old for you?"
"He's two years older dad. I love him and yes Dauntless did teach me different. I'm not Abnegation anymore, I can't live in Dauntless and follow the teaching of Abnegation, it doesn't work like that." I sigh.
"Still…"
"Dad, he's not going to hurt me."
"I'm just looking out for you Beatrice."
"I know but Four isn't going to do anything you think. We've been through a lot together since the day you and mom died. He's been by my side up until… up until now."
"I still don't get what kind of a name Four is… If you know he real name why don't you use it?"
"I do when we're alone. He doesn't like people knowing his real name and where he comes from."
"Why?"
Just then there's a knock on the door and the door opens to reveal Marcus. I frown, that's why. I think to myself not wanting to get into this right now.
"Ah hello Marcus." My father smiles.
"Hello Andrew. Are you all set?" Marcus asks, smiling back at my father. My father nods and starts to walk out of the room.
"Walk with us Beatrice?" My father asks and looks back at me.
"Sure." I stand up and walk after my father. The three of us walk to the front door.
"Andrew the bus is waiting, will you tell them I'll be right out?" Marcus stops and smiles at my father. My father once again nods and hugs me really quick, it's shorter than I would have liked but he now has to follow Abnegation standards. Once my father has gone outside, Marcus turns to me, still smiling putting on a show for the few Erudite walking through the loby.
"Do me a favor Beatrice, tell my son I said hello." Marcus smiles.
"Do me a favor and burn in hell." I frown, Marcus goes to say something else just as the front of the train zips by. I run out of the building and just barely catch it at the last second. Thanks to Tobias who helps pull me in. I look at him but see he is looking past me at the Erudite building… where Marcus can me seen.
"Did he say anything to you?" Tobias asked.
"Just to tell you hello.I told him to burn in hell." I frown and wrap my arms around Tobias. Tobias kisses my head and sighed.
"I love you Four." I look up at him. He looks down at me and smiles before pressing his lips to mine really quick.
"I love you too Tris."
"Hey guys get ready, we're almost at the Hub." Evan calls over the loudness that is Dauntless.
