Lenn was sleeping in his bed, while Lia was right next to him. She was so worried she couldn't sleep. During this time Lia asked Loty to take care of things for her. Lia couldn't understand it, but she somehow really wanted to feel Lenn safe. She felt like never in her life before, when she was with him. Seeing him, hearing his voice always made Lia very happy. She never wanted it to end.

While Lia was in the medical bay with her lover Lenn, it was Lotys duty to make everything work smoothly in the base. Putting the prisoners to their places, interrogate them and all the other things. It seemed too much at first, but after a little she was doing really well. She even started to like it.

"Hey Loty! How is it going for you? You know being in charge and all that kindda stuff..." Hilor asked her.

"It can't be better! I...I...love it! Organizing the life of the company is amazing!" She sounded full of joy.

"I am happy for you, Loty!" Hilor said with a low, calm tune.

"Yeah, me too. This is so great Hilor! You know that I had doubts about myself... about my dream, but this means that I have the talent for it..."

"I knew it from the beginning that you will be a good leader Loty..."

"I know, and I much appreciate it, really... I hope that one day I could lead our people..."

"I think you will lead us one day, Loty... I hope so..."

"Yeah, but really...We remove Xen and after that what will happen? Will Lia take all power into her hands?"

"Well we really don't have any one to replace Xen, really... I don't know if Lia has thought about it truly..."

"Well than we should speak with her about that then!" She said and started to head to the med bay, when Hilor grabbed her arm.

"This is not the best time for it Loty... Let them be together for a time... alone..." He said gently.

"You are right...How silly was I..."

"No...You weren't...Loty; would you like to have a little drink together, after you finished your responsibilities? I mean if you want to..." Said Hilor awkwardly.

"What...I mean sure! I will definitely!...Thank you!" She said.

"You don't need to thank me... I am the one who needs to thank you!"

In the med bay Lia was sitting next to Lenn, her eyes never ever looked elsewhere just at him. He was the sweat of her heart. She knew now what was her mother feeling towards her father back in the old days. This was her weakness and yet it was the well of her strength. She couldn't bear the thought of losing him. Losing Lenn, the only one who really has a place in her hearth.

It has been a day almost since he has got hit by one of Xens thugs, and still no sign of recovering. He was still lying on the bed in a very deep coma like sleep. The doctors were a little bit optimistic in some time and the next moment they became pessimistic. Lia didn't show any emotions at all. She was their leader; she had to stay strong for the hope and spirit for the others.

When they were finally alone, she looked upon him, put down her visor. Tears were coming out from her eyes, she was crying out of hopelessness.

"Lenn please...be right... Please..."

She grabbed his hand. Lenn didn't do anything; his hand was not showing any reactions at all.

"Please... I love you...Lenn... you are the meaning of my life; you are the reason that I am still strong! Please do not leave me here...alone..."

There was no answer. Just the beep sound that came from the machines. Lia was frightened. She started to plan their life together. Having 9 or 10 children 6 girls and 3 or 4 boys. She even started to think about proper names for them.

"You must stay with me...and start a big happy family! You hear me!? What will happen to our children? Dari, Tali and Lyvia? They need a father...they couldn't even live without you..."

Again no answer. Only silence. Lia started to cry...

"This is a very tasty drink...Thank you Hilor...Really..." Loty was a little bit nervous.

"You know Loty... You are really good... yeah you are good..." Hilor started nervously.

"Thank you...You to Hilor...I know now why Dari was so found of you..."

"Yeah...Dari... you know I am starting to feel better about what happened to her... And it was mostly because of you, Loty..."

Lotys hearth was starting to beat really fast. She was hoping for Hilor to say something. Something nice that would mean everything to her. Hoping that Hilor and Loty will become one after this day.

"Yes...I feel the same to Hilor..." She could only say that.

"So than its official than... You are my best friend Loty, like a little sister."

"Whaa...Yeah you are my good friend too Hilor... After Lia you are the second...most important person in my life..." She said sorrow was in her voice.

"I am glad to know this... You know Loty...since Dari left...I really couldn't started to get on life...Then you and your friendship have came to me, like a lifesaver. Thank you very much!"

Loty was hearth broken; she wanted to cry, but not in front of Hilor, no not in front of him. She couldn't just leave him behind that would be suspicious. She has to act calm.

"And...What are your plans? Ever getting...you know...married? Raise a family?"

"I don't know...well at least...I don't know yet...I really want to have one. Every Quarian must have a family to expand our empire and reclaim our former glory..."

"That is true, and you need to find someone...sooner rather than later..."

"You are right...I just hope to find someone like Dari... maybe one day..."

"I hope you will be happy Hilor...If you excuse me I will check on Lia..." She couldn't bear it any more; she needed an excuse to leave the conversation.

"Okay..say hi for me will you?"

"I will Hilor...and thanks for the drink...I appreciate it..."

"Don't mention it little sis."

After she left his sight Lotys tears started to pop out from her eyes. For her luck nobody could notice it under her visor. Her hearth was broken. She wanted to be alone at the moment, jet she wanted to empty her soul to a close friend. She wanted to see Lia. But Lia was having her own problems; it would be selfish for her to bother Lia in this time.

I don't care...Seeing Lia will make my mind of I hope...

She went to the med bay and found there Lia, who was still sitting on the same spot as she was sitting a day ago. Looking at Lenn, didn't care to notice the world around them. Loty pulled a chair next to her friend.

"Hey...Lia..."

"Hey..." She said without emotions.

"How is Lenn doing?"

"All the same...nothing have improved or gone worse..."

"I am sorry for it, Lia...I am truly sorry..." She hugged her best friend.

"I hope, that you and Hilor will be happy together...Without any events like this..." Lia almost cried while saying this.

"Well... It won't happen...Hilor only likes me as a sister..."

"I am sorry Loty...You will find someone better I know it for sure..."

"Me too...But I won't give up...Lia look!"

Lia quickly looked where Loty has pointed. It was Lenns arm. It was moving. Lia rushed to his sight and grabbed the arm, hugging it like a mother her children.

Lenn was finally waking up.
