A/N: Hello all! So So sorry it took longer than expected to update! I DID tell you I had performance week for the play, but on closing night (I know, unfortunate), I came down with the flu, and have most literally been in bed for the whole week, Friday being the day I tested my strength. But now, I am up and about, spring break has started, so I am now updating on all websites! Enjoy!
Blink's POV
I walk towards the bank, feeling more serious and focused the closer I get. When I'm standing right in front of the door, I take a deep breath and mentally prepare myself for the role of an innocent client. I fling the doors open and flash the room a cheerful smile.
'Hello!' I call.
I receive a few half-hearted 'hi's, and a superlatively energetic 'HELLO!' I scan the room, looking for anyone who might a problem. Most of them are singularly focused on whatever task they're doing now. A couple people look positively bored, and one person is standing right at attention, grinning from ear to ear, and overly-eager. I realize that this is the owner of the voice that replied to my hello so enthusiastically. I look him up and down, immediately guessing that this is his first night on the job. I put on my best smile and walk over to him.
'Hello there. Are you new?' I don't really need to ask - I've never been in this bank, only passed it by, but I know it's this guy's first night - who the hell is this awake at 9:30 at night? 'I haven't seen you around before.' The worker nods vigorously.
'Right you are!' He says. 'The last security guard was fired for letting The Smiler in a while back, and the job was open for any one.' He beams like a kid at his new position. I smile back.
'Well, good job landing it! What've you gotta do?'
'Thanks! Right now we're just closing up - after you of course,' he adds quickly, 'I get to say when we get to close!' He adds, excited.
'So, you've got a lot of authority, then?' He nods vigorously again.
'Loads! I got a walkie talkie-' He points to his belt, 'A taser-' he points to his other side, 'And even a card that opens all of the vaults.' he slaps his hand proudly over his chest pocket, from which I see a plastic card peeking out of.
Found what I was looking for.
My eyes linger for a second before shooting up to the new guy's shining eye, and I give him a warning I give to all my victims.
I smile.
He smiles wider as I give him my signature move to him, before making an action.
'Well, then, good sir,' I pat my hand on his chest pocket good-naturedly, but very deliberately, 'I hope your time here is long and profitable. Most luck to you!' I start to walk past him, but not before gingerly slipping my placed hand into his chest pocket and shooting his key up my sleeve. I walk quickly past the other bankers, too preoccupied to care what I'm doing other than to glance up when I flash the card at them, giving them just enough assurance that I'm not a thief... Well, at least so they don't think I am.
I slip through the corridors, searching for a more secreted vault. I walk for a while until I find one at the end of a small hallway. I walk confidently towards the door and make a small gesture to slip the key through the slot. I walk quickly into the dark room, turning back to peek out to see that no one is there right before it closes. My heart leaps a bit as I see a small blinking red light, but the door closes before I can see it again. I shake my head.
You're just being paranoid, Blink.
I shake myself out of my worry and collect the money I need. I then leave as quickly as I can, slipping the key into the now guard's back pocket before smiling at him, walking out and turning the corner. I let out a huge breath, sliding town the wall I found myself leaning against. I look up at the stars, panting, and groan as I see it's almost 11:00. I took way longer than expected. I sit there for a bit, contemplating whether I should hit the sack, or keep on running. I'm almost set on lying down on my bag when I hear the bank doors close from a bit way and shoot up again, groggy but still painfully alert.
I should probably get farther away from here if I want to sleep.
I take out my list, checking things I've gotten. I have most of Dodger's things and one Sheen's, but still have a load of food, drinks, clients, and more weapons to check off. Not to mention my laptop. I get up, deciding that I'll make my way over to Mr. Smith, and once I get close, I'll get some rest. When morning comes, I'll start again. I sigh as I shift my bag on my shoulder, and start stumbling along once again.
Rate, Review, and let me know how I'm doing!
