"Why in the world did I sign up for this?" Felicity muttered to herself as her girlfriends all but shoved her into the dressing rooms.
Several of her girlfriends from Vegas had visited Starling for a couple weeks and the first thing they had persuaded her to take part in was a bachelorette auction party, in which they would be taking part in also- by Felicity's argument stating that if they didn't, she wouldn't.
She had primarily met them back in high school a couple of years ago; Molly Anderson, Rebekah Jackson, Riley Taylor, Rochelle White and Mae Young.
"Because otherwise you'll have to do another forfeit like the ones back in Vegas!" Riley called out as she pushed a pile of dresses varying in length and colour into Felicity's hands. "Besides, isn't this supposed to be for charity, come on it'll be fun for us to see just what kind of men are around Starling now-a-days"
"Hey Lissy, what about that Queen man you used to gossip about over the phone, is he coming or not?" Rebekah was grinning, even if Felicity couldn't see her, she knew that voice when she heard it.
"No he's not, we're in the middle of yet another argument all because we couldn't agree on something, which in my defence is completely moronic he doesn't see it"
"I'm not even going to ask, you might fall into yet another babble again" Molly smiled from the changing room beside Felicity's.
"Oh shut up Mo" Felicity replied, laughing as her phone pinged.
"Hey Liz who's Digg and why do you owe him" Mae called out from the main room where she had left her bag.
"He's Oliver's bodyguard and he's a good friend, he probably means that he's taking the brunt of Oliver's anger right now"
"Do you want me to answer since he's now calling right now?" Rochelle called out, not waiting for a response before picking up the call. "Hello"
"Rochelle! Stop, no, give me the phone!" Felicity jumped out of the changing rooms and snatched her phone from where the other blonde gave her a smirk.
"Felicity, who was that and where are you"
"That was Rochelle, one of my girlfriends from Vegas; they're visiting for a couple weeks and already being completely irritating and I'm not going to tell you where we are because you might tell Oliver and I do not want to see him right now"
"Which is understandable, you do owe me though; he's already broken four dummies in the lair already. What exactly happened with you two today?"
"We had a disagreement today about me coming with him to the next meeting in Russia, and he just erupted as usual so I'm not taking the blame for this one. If he wants to apologise to me, he's got my number and he knows where I live so he can move his own damn ass and come and find me and talk to me himself, so don't you even dare begin to apologise for him"
"Alright, alright. I agree none of this is your fault, you know what he's like but you also know what he's like without your help with business missions. He just prefers being targeted by bullets and arrows than business deals to be frank. Anyways, just checking in with you, enjoy your time with your girlfriends and say hi from me….fine, and Roy apparently who needs to back the hell away from me right now before I send him flying onto his ass on the mats"
"Say hi to Roy for me, thank you for checking in and I'll catch you later today probably"
"See ya"
"Alright, now that I've got all your attention, the aim for this evening is to blow those poor buggers away with our sexiness, alright ladies you know what to do…even you Liz, let go for one night"
"One night fine"
With that the search for the perfect dress for the event later on tonight was on.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, can I have your attention!" the announcer spoke over the murmurs of the crowd as the sound of the speakers caught everyone's attention. "Now I'd like to introduce the next series of bachelorettes for the auction this evening, the money in which will be donated to our week's charity being Cancer Research. Gentlemen, get your wallets ready to have the night of your life with any one of these girls of your choosing"
The crowd of people were now sat in front of the stage, their beverages set within arm's reach as their eyes diverted to the man with the microphone.
"First up is Rebekah Jackson wearing a beautiful short, red halter-neck dress that is sure to capture all those eyes out there ready for a good time tonight" the man with the microphone commented as Rebekah strode onto the stage and winked at someone in the front row of the audience, eyes trained on the cut out in the front of her dress, a feature Felicity swore she knew would make her stand out.
"Second up is Mae Young wearing an attractive short black deep V-neck, open back dress that is definitely sure to keep your interest throughout the night, finishing off with a bang at the end of the night" up went Mae who waltzed onto the stage and stood beside Rebekah, who swished hips with each other, gaining cheers from the crowd.
"Next up is Molly Anderson wearing a crystal beaded red chiffon open back red dress that is so simply stunning that your eyes won't be able to handle the sight but be my guest, are you up for the challenge?" standing by the other two girls who all linked arms with each other, laughing as the man with the microphone spoke cheesy words.
"Up next is Riley Taylor wearing a sweetheart open back sequined party dress that is so fun, I wonder what she'll be up to for the remainder of the night" all four girls linked with Riley's arm as they began swaying to the music that played in the background.
"Up next is Rochelle White wearing a hot pink halter cocktail, open back dress that you will just adore to have beside you as you rock through the night" Rochelle gladly joined up with the other four girls, lengthening the chain as they waited on Felicity to make her appearance.
"Last but certainly not least is Felicity Smoak, who is just rocking a striking black sheath sequined halter V-neck open back that is sure to command every man's attention in the room, well we definitely know how she got the name 'Smoak' cuz' she is smoking hot!"
As Felicity breezed onto the stage and fused hips with the rest of her girlfriends, in her peripheral vision she caught sight of the entrance in which the familiar form of a man had just waltzed in through and was now locking eyes with her on stage.
Oh crap, Oliver.
How the hell did he know where I'd be her thoughts spiralled out as his jaw clenched at the sight of her onstage.
"Now, let the auction begin!"
Minutes passed by in seconds as Rebekah, Mae, Molly, Riley and Rochelle were all auctioned off to the highest bidder, all of them seemingly pleased with their results before the man with the microphone finally moved onto Felicity, who remained linked to her friends.
"And now, who will you be accompanying this evening Felicity? Let's begin at 200!"
Felicity watched in shock, and slight panic, as men frantically yelled out bid after bid, the price rising to at least nine thousand.
"9,000, do I hear 10,000!"
Her eyes scanned the bidders. The one that was currently racing by the rest was nobody other than Bruce Wayne as the other man trailed behind, whom she recognised to be Ray Palmer.
"11,000 for Bruce Wayne, going once, going twice-"
"11,500!" a new but all too familiar voice rung out, this wasn't going to be ending well.
Oliver was currently sending an arrow worthy glare at Bruce Wayne as Digg, Roy, Thea, Tommy and Sara stood behind him, sending a smile Felicity's way as their hands covered their mouths, shoulders shaking in silent laughter as the known pose of Arrow was shown on perfect display by none other than Oliver, topped off by fists.
This unquestionably was not going to be ending well.
"11,500 going once, going twic-"
"12,000!"Bruce Wayne jumped from his seat.
"14,000!" Oliver's final voice reverberated throughout the room as multiple gasps filled the air, including Felicity's and that of her girlfriends.
"14,000 going once, going twice…sold! Sold to Mr. Queen for 14,000!" the man with the microphone ended the auction.
Looking over at Oliver he hadn't seemed to have taken his gaze off her since the second he'd originally seen her on the stage, besides glaring at the other men of course, but now his gaze looked almost predatory.
"Alright men, come and get 'em"
Not waiting another second, Oliver and the other men strode onstage towards their date for the evening, a strong arm pulling her into a plank of muscle- a plank she knew way too well –sending a chill up her spine but still Felicity refused to look to her side at her date.
"Well, I sincerely hope you enjoy your dates ladies and gentleman. Please, give them a big hand, for there may be love in the air for our couples tonight, who knows what the future will present"
If she had turned her complete attention towards the rest of the group still stood at the back, Felicity would've noticed how their laughter just increased all the more when the announcer spoke the words 'possible love in the air', not helping anything in the doing.
Leading her off the stage, Oliver instantly diverted the two straight over to the now reasonably-sized group of friends sitting on the stools near the exit. She realised that Laurel and Nyssa had joined the small group that were so far into their silent fits of laughter their faces were tilting into the region of bright tomato-red, not boosting her confidence at all.
"Did you plan this out or something or is Ollie's timing really that good?" Thea shot Felicity a smirk, being rewarded with a glare almost Arrow worthy.
"Nope but we might've had something to do with that" came a voice from over her shoulder, Mae's face highlighting a big smile with her phone perched solidly in the palm of her hand.
"Wait, did you text him?"
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't…I regret nothing, you two look absolutely adorable together, like you were made for one another"
"Mae, one of these days I'm going to kill you in your sleep and I won't even blink once"
"Aw, love you too Liz….now I have a hot date to get to" she said, clapping her hands together like she was conducting an experiment.
"Revenge is going to be so sweet"
"I think you've been spending way too much time with Queen" Nyssa smiled as her arm came around Sara's waist, pulling her into a quick but promise-full kiss, in which Oliver replied in a smile.
"Come on I believe I owe you a date, which we will be starting right now" tightening the grip already held on her hip.
"Just try to keep it PG alright, remember the media's always watching!" Tommy's voice called out as the two made their way out of the building.
By the end of the night Oliver couldn't stop looking at Felicity and vice versa so the moment they made it to Felicity's house, that PG warning went straight out the window alongside the 'just friends' crap they'd been trying to sell to not only themselves but to their friends also.
What they didn't know was that back at Verdant, the team were already celebrating, the song 'Hallelujah' playing across the main speakers as they all danced with their partner.
All in all, it was one hell of a night.
