Chapter 36

Inuyasha couldn't help the smile as he stepped into the morning room and stood before the open door looking over the east garden. "Sess. Look at them."

Sesshomaru turned his head enough to see Shippo running around the garden with a little boy a few years older that looked like a miniature Takashi.

"I don't think I've ever seen Shippo play like that." He didn't want to disturb the moment. Shippo and the boy that had to be Junichi were kicking around a ball. Something so simple yet both of the boys radiated pure joy in the game.

Sesshomaru tightened his grip on Inuyasha. Feeling the pleasure and pride from him were very confusing when he was in the midst of panicking. "Inuyasha, please."

"Sorry, baby." Inuyasha looked around for Izumi and found her closer than he has expected. She was leaning against the wall beside the door. "Izumi." The woman glanced over and he saw a flash of fear in her eyes.

She stepped into the room and pulled the door closed until it was open just enough that she could hear the boys. "What happened?"

"I'm not sure." He sat down against a wall and cradled Sesshomaru in his lap. "I don't know what happened. I keep doing stuff wrong and he panics. I don't know what to do."

"First off. Calm yourself. Your emotions don't help added to his own."

Inuyasha nodded. "I know, I'm trying."

Izumi cupped Sesshomaru's face. "Tell me what happened."

Inuyasha gently pulled the woman's hands off of his mate. "Please don't. I really can't handle you touching him right now."

"Yes. I apologize. Force of habit." She sat in front of them and put her hands in her lap. She took a quick glance out the window before turning back to them. "Explain."

"He can feel me. Why can he feel me? It's too soon. It's way too soon. How can he feel me?" Sesshomaru's breath hitched and he buried his face against Inuyasha's chest.

Izumi looked up at Inuyasha and lifted a curious eyebrow. "You can feel his physical state?" When he nodded she tilted her head, looking thoughtful. "When did that begin?"

"Just a few minutes ago."

"What were you doing?"

Inuyasha felt his face heat and shifted uncomfortably. "Making love to my mate."

She shook her head. "I don't mean to embarrass you. But exactly what were you doing? Were you tasting him?"

Inuyasha blinked. "How did you know that?"

The woman sighed with relief and smiled. "Am I right that this wasn't the first time?" Another nod. "Third or fourth?" Another nod. "It's alright, Sesshomaru. This is normal. At least for an uke mating."

Sesshomaru turned his head enough that he could look at her from the corner of his eye. "Normal? He isn't supposed to feel me until after the baby is born."

"If you were a female, yes. But you're an uke."

"What does that have to do with the fact that he can feel me months before he's supposed to?"

"During a mating, when your mate fills you with his seed, that is when the emotional bond begins for the submissive mate. The more he puts inside of you, the stronger the bond becomes. In an uke mating, the Alpha can activate the bond to sense his mates physical being early by tasting his mate's seed. It usually begins around the third or fourth time he has tasted. And the bond gets stronger each time after that."

Sesshomaru closed his eyes and sighed. "I don't understand. Why is it different because I'm an uke?"

"Because you're male. It has to do with the exchange of seed. Mating bonds are different between an uke and his Alpha then they are between a female and her Alpha. The bonds can go both ways if you allow it. If you taste enough of Inuyasha you will feel him physically. And if he allows you to take him as he does you, he could gain an emotional bond with you."

Sesshomaru relaxed and turned his face into Inuyasha again. "I'm so confused."

Inuyasha smiled. "You need to sleep. You're exhausted. And you need more of that tea."

"Stop. Just…" He sighed again. "Just take me back to bed." He wound his arms around his mate's neck as he stood again.

"Thank you, Izumi." He stood for a minute looking out at the boys again. "They look so happy."

"Children often do at play."

"It will be good for Shippo." He looked down at the woman at his side. "Please allow them to play often. Shippo needs a friend."

Izumi smiled up at him and touched his head softly. "They are the same age, you know. Junichi is a little tall for his age. Shippo is small for his. But Shippo is actually 4 months older." She let her hand drop when Inuyasha started to shift uncomfortably. "Come talk to me once you have Sesshomaru settled again. We need to discuss a few things about Shippo."

"Alright." He looked down at Sesshomaru and smiled. He was already asleep. "I won't be long."

"Let him sleep this time, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha flushed. "Yes, ma'am." He carried his sleeping mate back to their room. He laid him on the bed and carefully took his robe off. He sat for a moment with his hand over their child. "I love you, Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru smiled and opened his eyes enough to look up at him. "I love you, too."

He smiled back. "I knew you weren't completely asleep."

"It's hard to sleep with you touching me. It feels too good."

"I'm barely touching you. You need to sleep, baby. Please."

"I know." He pulled gently at Inuyasha's arm. "Hold me until I fall asleep?"

Inuyasha smiled. "Of course." He pulled the blankets over them as he laid down.

"Are you okay with this?" Sesshomaru laid his head on Inuyasha's chest, enjoying the sound of his heartbeat.

"With what? Holding you while you sleep?" He chuckled and ran a hand slowly up and down Sesshomaru's back.

"Not that. With being able to feel me. With why you're able to feel me so soon."

"Sess, I like being able to feel you. It reinforces what I'm able to smell. As for why, I enjoy tasting you and I'm going to do that often."

Sesshomaru gave a breathy moan as Inuyasha filled with lust again. "Again?"

"Mmm. You need to sleep."

"I heard. Probably about his schooling."

"Izumi knows what Shippo will need. She just needs your approval." Sesshomaru yawned. "Can I sleep now?"

"Yes." Inuyasha gave him a playful smack on the ass before covering him back up. "You sleep. I'll wake you up for dinner."

"Okay." Sesshomaru burrowed himself into the blankets and was asleep before Inuyasha closed the door behind himself.
