Chapter 36: Prehistoric Pokemon attack
A/N: Enjoy! With Treecko evolving into Grovyle, Arcus discovers that his sister will be a Pokemon coordinator and earning the hearts of Milotic and the rest of the girls back at home, Arcus will now continue his travel with the group. I do not own Pokemon but I own my OC and this story. Reminder: Arcus telepathically talks to his Pokemons during battles. Names of characters: Arcus, Mega Absol(Angel), Combusken(Torch), Marshtomp(Kippy), Meowth(Ace), Servine(Lily), Kabuto(Shelly), Spearow(Spear), Ekans(Venom), Espeon(Jewel), Mew(Ella), Vaporeon(Aqua). Angel is permanently a Mega Absol.
"Wow! So your sister is a genius when it comes to creative combination moves?" Asked Brock.
During their journey towards the next gym, Arcus had told Ash, Brock and Misty about his family, which they were astonished upon hearing it.
Arcus nodded and said,"Lucy is quite the genius at that. It's a shame you guys can't meet her. She still needs to perfect her combination moves and then she will be able to come to Earth." Brock then said,"I can't wait! To see the sister of my best friend." Arcus cleared his throat and said,"Even if you're my friend, Brock, I'm still going to keep an eye on you so that you won't hit on her like how you did with the other girls you see."
Just then, the group spotted a large group of people making their way to the canyon just near them.
Ash said,"I wonder where everybody is doing with those picks and shovels." A familiar voice was soon heard and it said,"Don't you know anything?!"
The group turned around and they were looking at the one and only, Gary Oak!
Gary said,"Ash, not only late as usual. But clueless too. Don't tell me you've never heard about the Pokemon discovery. Even a nerd like you should have heard about the great Fossil Rush!" Everyone asked in unison,"The great Fossil Rush?"
A group of girls soon appeared and they sang,"Gary, Gary, he's our man! If he can't find them, no one can!" Gary smiled and said,"Thank you! To all my loyal fans! I gotta go! I've gotta find all the fossils quick before anyone else does! Can't waste my precious time hanging around with a loser like you."
Luckily, Misty and Brock were able to hold Ash back before he could do anything violent.
Arcus sighed but he froze immediately and thought I feel Pokemon. Where can they be? Arcus reverted into his Pokemon form and he called out Aqua and said,"Aqua, looks like you just got an extra day with me." Aqua hugged him and said,"That's good. It makes me think that I'm special to you just like Angel." Arcus smiled and said,"All of you are special. It's just that I have a feeling you will be perfect today."
Aqua blushed and said,"If that's the case, I promise to be at my best today. For you." She gave him a kiss and Brock said,"Arcus, we're heading to the canyon. You coming?" Arcus nodded and said,"Aqua, let's go."
Once they've reached the canyon, they saw that every inch of the place were crowded with people digging their way to find a fossil.
Ash said,"Wow. Look at all the people digging." Misty said,"We better hurry before all the fossils are dug up." Brock then said,"All these people digging, but nobody has found any fossils yet. I wonder if this great Fossil Rush is really for real."
Another familiar voice was soon heard behind them,"What's taking them so long? Humans, the only thing you can depend on is that they're always undependable." As they turned around, they saw that it was Meowth from Team Rocket.
Next thing they knew, Jessie and James appeared and they said their motto.
Meowth then smacked their heads and said,"Cut the motto! I bet you two clowns didn't even plant the dynamite like you were supposed to!" Jessie then got up and kicked him into a wall and said,"Wrong again, fur ball! Of course we planted the dynamite!" James said,"Once we blast this canyon to nothing, we'll be able to scoop up all the fossils!"
Misty said,"Did you hear that?! They're going to blow up this whole canyon!" Brock said,"All those people who are digging here will get caught around here." Ash said,"Don't worry! Pikachu and I will stop them!" Arcus said,"Aqua and I will help you out too!"
As Ash, Arcus, Pikachu and Aqua made their way up to the top, Ash exclaimed,"Hold it right there!"
The three agents turned and James said,"Oh. It's that pest again." Jessie said,"Always messing up our plans." Meowth laughed and said,"But this time, you're too late! The fuse is already lit."
Arcus then saw that there was a rope beginning to shorten by a spark of fire. Arcus exclaimed,"Aqua, use Water Gun and don't stop!" Aqua nodded and she quickly chased after the flame and Ash called out Squirtle to help out as well.
As they were chasing the flame, Arcus turned around and he saw Jessie, James and Meowth chasing them with their newly evolved Pokemon, Arbok and Weezing.
Turning back, Arcus said,"Keep it up, Aqua! You're doing great!"
For a while of running down and chasing the flame, they were finally crushed as the three agents were curled up into a boulder after they had tripped and Ash, Arcus, Pikachu and Aqua were caught up in it as well.
They tumbled down the canyon for a few seconds before they crashed at the bottom.
Moaning in pain, Arcus looked up and saw that the flame was almost to the dynamites. Panicking, he exclaimed,"Guys, we better get out of here!" He quickly squirmed around and when Aqua was out, he said,"Aqua, quickly use Water Gun!"
Aqua nodded but as she turned around, it was too late. Pikachu had gotten out and used Thunderbolt at the dynamite.
Fear took over them as time had almost stopped completely. As the dynamite exploded, Arcus had squirmed his way out of the man and Pokemon-made boulder and he quickly covered Aqua and said,"Protect."
A green orb surrounded the two as the explosion engulfed them and they were heading straight down below the surface and into a world of rocks.
Once they had safely landed thanks to the green orb, Arcus asked,"Are you hurt, Aqua?"
Aqua shook her head and said,"Thanks to you, I'm safe!" Arcus smiled back and he looked over to the others who had just woke up.
James asked,"Where are we?" Jessie replied,"Looks like we've got blown all the way to the moon." Meowth said,"Or down to the center of the Earth. This is a cave. The dynamite must have blown a hole in the roof and we fell in. we must be buried deep under the Earth's crust."
Jessie then exclaimed,"This is all your fault, twerp! If your Pikachu hadn't tried to put out that fuse, we never would have fallen down here!" Ash got up and protested,"Hey! You were the crooks who planted all that dynamite up there in the first place!"
Arcus groaned and exclaimed,"What difference is there?! We're all trapped under here! I would probably be able to get us out of here but there's not enough space between me and the roof for me to blast that thing off!" Meowth nodded and said,"I'm with him! The only way we can get out is to blow up that roof again!"
Suddenly, Arcus felt Pokemon surrounding them and Ash asked,"What's wrong?" Arcus quickly picked up Aqua and exclaimed,"There're Pokemon down here too!"
As they all turned around, they saw multiple pairs of red eyes watching them.
Out of the shadows, two Kabuto, two Kabutops, two Omanyte and two Omastar surrounded them. Ash took out his Pokedex and it said,"Omanyte and Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops. It is believed these Pokémon became extinct tens of thousands of years ago. The details of their behavior are shrouded in mystery. Though some have speculated that they may still exist, none of these Pokemon have ever been seen alive."
Jessie and James quickly exclaimed,"We're going to be rich! We'll open a prehistoric Pokemon park that will be bigger than Pokeworld! Even the boss will be impressed with us!"
Arcus huffed and said,"Like I'll ever let you do that! These Pokemon were asleep until those people started coming here and started digging for fossils and to make it worst, your stupid dynamite made it unbearable for them! Am I right?" The prehistoric Pokemon all nodded and Arcus and Aqua went over to them.
He smiled and said,"I'm on your sides. After all this, I promise that you'll be able to go back to sleep again." One of the Kabutops nodded and he said,"In that case, we won't hurt you. But for them..."
The Kabutops then ordered an attack on the three agents, Ash and Pikachu as they charged at them, leaving Arcus and Aqua out of their way.
Jessie and James then tossed their empty Pokeballs at the lead Kabutops and Arcus swooped in and he sliced the two Pokeballs into pieces using Slash attack. He looked back at the Kabutops and said,"Are you alright?" The Kabutops nodded and the attack continued.
Ash then called out Charmeleon, who laid down on a rock and took a nap.
As they started running for their lives from the prehistoric Pokemon, Arcus looked around and Aqua asked,"What's the matter?" Arcus replied,"I feel that there's another Pokemon sleeping here. I just hope that it's friendly as well."
Very soon, the prehistoric Pokemon were retreating back into the shadows and they exclaimed,"He's awake! We better get out of here!"
Arcus turned back and he soon saw what they meant. An Aerodactyl was the one who scared them away. Ash took out his Pokedex and it said,"Aerodactyl, an extinct Flying Pokemon. Its hard fangs suggest that it was a carnivore. Its sharp claws were probably used to capture prey."
Ash asked,"What's a carnivore?" James replied,"That means it thinks that we're dinner!" Jessie said,"That must be why the others ran away."
The Aerodactyl dove down of its place and it hit Charmeleon, leaving a scar on his forehead. The Aerodactyl then began chasing the others but for some reason, it didn't chase Arcus or Aqua.
Charmeleon was soon up and ready and when it was about to strike, Aerodactyl knocked him out for good.
The roof was soon dropping down small rocks and Brock's voice was heard,"Ash! Can you hear me?!" Ash yelled back,"Get us out of here!" But bad luck struck as Aerodactyl grabbed Ash and it flew straight up with Pikachu and Charmeleon grabbing its tail.
Arcus then flew up with Aqua in his arms and he heard Meowth yelled,"Wait! What about us?!"
Finally back in the surface, Arcus could see that the entire group of people had gathered with Gary, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy in it.
As Arcus landed, Misty and Brock ran up to him and Brock asked,"Where's Ash?" Aerodactyl gave a loud shriek as it dropped Charmeleon and Pikachu and it perched itself on the top of a column.
Arcus said,"I've got to stop him. Aqua, you stay here. I don't want you to get hurt." Aqua nodded as Arcus flew off towards Aerodactyl.
Once he reached the top, he made eye contact with Aerodactyl and said,"Put that boy down." Aerodactyl laughed and said,"Never! He will make a tasty meal before I can go back to sleep again." Arcus said,"In that case, Shadow Ball!"
A dark sphere materialized in his hand as he threw it at Aerodactyl, scoring a direct hit.
He looked down and he saw Charmeleon very upset and he exclaimed,"No fair! I wanted to beat him up! Get Aerodactyl down here so we can settle this!" A glow soon engulfed him as he evolved into Charizard.
Arcus stared in amazement and he said,"Wow. Never thought I ever see a Pokemon evolve just by wanting revenge." Charizard soon flew up as it chased after Aerodactyl.
Arcus flew back down and Aqua leaped into his arms. He said,"Looks like Charizard's Ash's only hope now."
Misty quickly ran over to a Pokemon that resembled a pink ball and said,"Jigglypuff, sing us your slumber song!" The Pokemon nodded as it started singing.
As it sang, Arcus saw that the people around were starting to fall asleep and when he looked up, Aerodactyl was falling asleep itself! Arcus looked back at Aqua and she asked,"How am I not asleep? Jigglypuff's song always put Pokemon to sleep." Arcus replied,"Perhaps dad's Pokemon food is able to make all of us immune to its singing as well."
Once the song had ended, Arcus and Aqua saw that Jigglypuff was getting upset as it started drawing on everyone's faces with a marker.
When it walked over to Arcus and Aqua, it smiled and said,"Wow! I finally found some Pokemon who loves my song!" Arcus smiled and said,"That was a nice song. Just don't do it whenever people are in dangerous situations."
He looked back and saw that the hole was closed and there wasn't a sight of Aerodactyl anywhere. He turned around but saw that Jigglypuff was gone.
When everyone was awake again, Officer jenny announced,"Some of you are claiming that you saw a prehistoric Pokemon here in the canyon. That is ridiculous! Let me assure you that it was only a dream caused by Jigglypuff's song. I must also announce that due to the danger of further cave collapses, no more digging will be permitted."
For a while, everyone was soon discussing with each other about their so called 'dream' that Officer Jenny had told them and they slowly dispersed themselves as they went home.
As the group were continuing their way to the next gym, Ash asked,"Where did Jigglypuff go?"
Brock asked,"Were you hoping for an encore?" Ash replied,"Well, at least it deserves to take a bow. Jigglypuff and Charizard really saved me back there." Misty said,"That Aerodactyl was one of a kind. It's too bad you couldn't capture it, Ash."
Just then, Ash said,"Hey, I almost forgot!" He took out an egg from his bag and said,"I found this when I woke up." Brock and Misty gasped and Brock asked,"Are you sure it's alright for you to just take that?"
Ash replied,"What do you mean? You think I should have left it with Joy?" Brock then took the egg and said,"Okay Ash, I'll raise it for ya!" Ash said,"But I could raise it myself." Misty chimed in and said,"You would have dropped it and broke it anyway." Ash exclaimed,'I would not!"
Brock and Misty were soon making their escape with the egg as Ash started chasing them. Arcus chuckled and said,"I hope you had fun today, my sweet Aqua." The Bubble jet Pokemon nodded as it kissed him and said,"Another great day with you. I can't wait for the next one!" Arcus smiled as he returned her to her Universal ball and he chased after the group.
