AN: Ok it's been a few, but I've been working on it slowly. Writer's block was hitting me hard so I only could get little bit done at a time. That and school got crazy with it being the end of my 3rd quarter, today is the 4th so a lot of teachers rushed through chapters. But my stuff aside here's another chap for ya.

"Tonight… I saw another Volkin."

She blinked a few times before whispering "Are you sure?" I nodded grimly remembering the yellow eyes that stared at me "I would bet anything on it… I wish I was wrong about my assumptions." I said before turning around and grabbing the sides of my head.

"I was making my assumptions out of fear not fact… and they turned out to be true." Before Astrid could say anything else Alvin pushed ahead of her "Thank ye boy, ye held yourself to yer word." He said patting my back. Letting out a nervous laugh I pushed his hand off "Y-ya, we warded them off." His eyes narrowed a little at my stutter before he shrugged it off and ordered his men to clean up.

I quietly made my way over to Toothless "Tooth… you alright?" I asked not having the chance before. She nodded slowly "I… I'm sorry I didn't try harder to keep… whatever that was out of your head." I said bringing my hand towards her. She quickly shook her head and pulled away slightly "No need Hiccup, I'm just a little…" She trailed off before shaking her head "Nothing I'm fine."

"Well… we should really get some sleep as soon as we can." I said knowing that she was upset with something trying to get into her head once more. Hesitantly my eyes left her and went to Alvin before walking over to him "Alvin… is there anyway I can talk to you in private about some important business?" One of his eyes rose but he agreed right after ordering Savage to take over and telling him and I quote "Not destroying this hunk of rock anymore than it already is."

He led me into a random house that was still standing. Toothless followed us as soon as we began to enter slipping in at the last second. As soon as the door closed behind us he spoke up "What is it ye wanted to speak about?" He asked obviously wanting to go back out and help pick up.

Taking a deep breath I pointed to Toothless "Do you know why she isn't trying to kill us?" He blinked a couple of times before looking at her then back to me. He put a hand to his chin "Well… I assume you would train them like a pe…" I cut him off before I got upset "No… not at all." I started before glancing at Toothless.

"You see Alvin dragons are quite intelligent as I've told you, they can even respond in their own way. Now what do you think can cause a dragon to randomly attack a village without taking its food?" He shook his head obviously not having a clue.

"A village has a chief, dragons have an alpha. It commands them to do whatever it wants, and if a human was to control this Alpha…" All of a sudden it clicked and he laughed while clapping his hands together slowly "You could dominate any tribe you wanted." I grimaced slightly at the maniacal look in his eye before it disappeared slowly as he realized it was HIS tribe being dominated.

"Right… now how can we take care of this person?" He said partially speaking to himself and to me while rubbing his beard in thought "Well for one I better tell you that it is that Selena lady… at least I'm 99% sure." I said feeling pretty confident that was the person behind it all. In reality I'm guessing on a lot because I don't have anything else to work with.

"Right her… well she's only human. If we can only get her somehow, maybe a net or um…" He trailed off obviously thinking of ways to capture or even kill her all things considered. But I knew better, she wouldn't be stopped that easy. All of a sudden a thought crossed me "How can we deal with her if she has a dragon that can will other dragons to do its bidding?"

"We'll have to discuss this later 'iccup, right now I need to clean up." Alvin said leaving me in the little hut with Toothless. We shared the silence for a couple of minutes as we were both thinking. She still had that look trama on her face "Tooth?" She blinked a couple of times before looking at me.

"You know I'll do anything to protect you and make you feel safe right, no matter the cost?" I told her sincerely putting my hand on her cheek. She let out a little laugh before nodding slightly "I know Hic I just… I don't want to end up hurting you is all. I was able to handle it before but… it's getting to me." She said looking down.

"Hey, I won't let it happen… do you hear me. I will make sure you stay the smart, funny, beautiful dragon that I've come to love." She started to blush madly not able to make eye contact with me. I put a hand under her chin and lifted so she was looking at me before planting my lips on hers. Her eyes widened slightly before closing them and leaning into it.

Kissing a dragon is still as weird as ever but… it didn't matter with Toothless. I pulled away now supporting a blush of my own. Her eyes were half lidded as she spoke "I can see why humans like to do that now." She said smirking but not without the obvious blush showing from her embarrassment "Come on you crazy lizard… we better head back out."

She nodded while looking down with a smile on her face. As long as she was happy I would be happy "I suppose we should… or we could do that again." She said with a wink. After a second it registered and I began to stutter out a few jumbled words that didn't make sense even to me until she laughed at my despair "You're too easy Hic." She said laughing. I stuck my tongue at her before opening the door shaking my head.

She stepped out first with me following her. Almost immediately I was swarmed by all of the riders all asking questions at the same time about the raid but not allowing me to answer. "OYE LISTEN UP!" I shouted not able to handle it. They went quiet as I spoke "We have a new issue, a very large one at that but… we need to discuss it at Berk."

"Hiccup a few of us seen a behemoth of a dragon in the ocean… it was as big if not bigger than the red death." One of them said to which it got a few nods "That's one part of our problem… I'll discuss it on the way back to Berk but no one is allowed to speak to ANYONE else about this are we clear?" Several nods and "Yes sir"s were produced by the group "We'll be leaving soon, I want to inform Alvin of our departure."

With that I left them to go find said man. He wasn't too far off picking up burning timber "Alvin, how often to these raids happen?" I asked to which he replied once every week or so "Ok, we will be going back to Berk for some help. We'll be back in a few days most likely with a plan." I told him. He looked like he wanted to say something and eventually came out with it "How do I know this isn't Berk ditching us?"

"Alvin if we wanted to ditch you we would have already. We have dragons not boats, we'd be gone faster than you'd think." I said crossing my arms. He look like he felt stupid as he gestured me away. Rolling my eyes I turned and went back to the group who was already on dragon back "Time to go." I said signaling for us to head out.

Jumping on Toothless we took off after them. After about two minutes I could already tell from the looks on everyone's face that they wanted to know what I did. Taking a breath I sat up straighter and began telling them everything. From me being a volkin, my duty, the new volkin, and the bewilderbeast.

I finished my rant a while back and it must have made them think because no one has spoke since until now "So Hiccup, how do we compete with a behemoth dragon with mind control… again." Snotlout said from behind me "Well Snotlout, that's why we are going back to Berk. I need ideas and a plan." He nodded and pointed out the island coming up.

"Ok here's the plan for now. When we get back all of you are going home." A few sounds of rejection started but I quieted them "No I need all of you rested. So go home, sleep, and eat a meal. I will talk my father about the… situation." No one was able to change my mind before we landed so everyone ended up going home.

My eyes darted over to the horizon, the sun wasn't even up yet, it was just barely peeking over the horizon indicating it was early in the morning. We landed close to the house so the walk wasn't too far. We made it to the door and I slowly cracked it open peeking inside. Mom, dad, and Cloudjumper were all downstairs sleeping in chairs excluding Cloudjumper.

"We should probably sleep before we say anything considering we've been awake for over a day." Toothless suggested jerking her head in the direction of the stairs. I was a little hesitant but knew that I wouldn't think right tired so I nodded and followed her upstairs. Almost as soon as I was lying next to her my eyes began to droop down before closing in exhaustion

oOo

"Come on Hiccup… we need to get up." Groggily my eyes opened to see Toothless looking down at me. Slowly I got up and cracked my back "How long were we asleep?" I asked as I started stretching "Not long enough, but we should head down." She stated already at the door.

Following her out we both went down the stairs only to be greeted by everyone "Hiccup?" Mom asked confused before looking back at dad "Hey mom, dad…. We have a VERY big problem on our hands." They both looked at one another before returning their gaze to me "What is it?" Dad asked.

"Dad… I'm afraid that my secret might have to be told to the village sometime soon." He was looking more and more lost by the second "Guys I… I saw another volkin on Outcast island." The room got deathly silent with only the crackle of almost dead fire making noise "Another volkin? But how is that possible? How do you know? What could…?" Mom said starting to shoot off questions but I quickly stopped her before I couldn't answer.

"Mom please slow down. I'm not sure how it happened but I'm sure that lady is a volkin." I said wishing I didn't have to "Well how are you sure?" Dad asked curiously "Her eyes they… they turned into slits. There's no doubt in my mind." My eyes wandered over to Cloudjumper "Cloudjumper… may I ask you something?"

He nodded gesturing for me to continue "If volkins are picked out by the gods… how is it one can be using their power for evil?" I asked not understanding how that could happen "Well… a volkin still has free will like any other sentient being. It was probably just a bad judgement call. Some change when they get power." He stated as if it was obvious.

"A bad judgement call… by the gods…?" I said skeptically. He nodded "They can't read the future. Think about it, you could smite anyone who ever looked down on you." I was about to say something else but I stopped and thought about it… deeply.

If I wanted to I could punish anyone who treated me like garbage anytime in my life. Immediately, one with my powers could seize power and do whatever they wanted "Huh… now that you put it like that… makes sense." I said realizing how easy it would be.

Shaking my head at the thought I had one more piece of crucial information "There's one other thing we found at the island… a bewilderbeast." I said looking at mom who put her hands over her mouth with a soft "Oh no, Drago" coming through almost in-audible. Dad looked super confused at what I just said.

"A bewilder… what?" He said not understanding "A bewilderbeast. It makes the queen look pathetic compared to this thing. It can control other dragons with its mind, it's larger than the queen, and has two tusks as long as the great hall on its face. Oh, and it can literally breath out a blizzard." I said giving him the quick version of what it was. His face turned as white as a fresh blanket of snow in the early morning.

"So my question is… how do we take on both of these new problems, potentially both at once." I said clapping my hands together feeling some of the weight shift to another's shoulder. All of sudden mom clapped her hands startling me "I've got it!" She said in almost a cheery voice. We all stared at her for a few seconds until she started to pace.

"Think about it that lady may have a bewilderbeast but…" She turned to us and grinned "...so do we." All of a sudden it clicked, the nest, the one mom and Cloudjumper come from. But there was one problem "But mom… how do you know he will help us anyways? Why put himself in danger?" I asked her not thinking that would work.

"He'd help us Hiccup, besides we've been at war with Drago and his army for years." Dad all of a sudden started freaking out "Drago!? That maniac can control a bewilderbeast… oh Thor." He said before falling into a chair putting his hand to his head. Mom and I shared a look "How do you know Drago?" Mom asked curiously.

He stared into the fire pit "Many years ago all of the chiefs has a meeting to discuss the dragon threat. This man came in named Drago who claimed that all of us to bow to him and he would take care of the dragons… of course we laughed and kicked him out." He closed his eyes before shaking it "Shortly after these… armored dragons burnt the place to the ground… I was the only survivor."

All of a sudden I remembered hearing about this in the great hall when I was really young, some of the villagers were talking about his father calling crazy for talking about armored dragons "Everyone always thought that I was just delusional, heh… proves those idiots I was right." He said muttering to himself.

"Ok so we potentially have a very large dragon that may help us but um… we still have the issue of another volkin and now I know that there is armored dragons. We don't have that many warriors on dragon back and no one else is willing to try." I said stating how much we aren't prepared for this.

"Well there is one option." Toothless said butting in. I turned to her as she continued "We just came from an island full of warriors." She said but I immediately shook my head "No way, not the Outcasts. They'll just turn around and stab us in the back." I said crossing my arms "Just a suggestion." She mumbled.

I turned back around and saw dad putting his hand to his beard. I realized that he was actually considering it "Dad you can't actually be thinking this is a good idea… do you?!" I said remembering all of the stories as a kid about how much of back stabbers the outcasts were. But it seems that didn't matter to my father.

"I'm not saying I like the idea but… you have this connection with the dragons. I don't really think they would turn on you would they?" I was about to argue until I realized he was right, the dragons wouldn't turn on me. At least I don't think they would from the way they've acted so far.

"Well no, but…" He cut me off before I could continue "Then it's settled, you will get the outcasts on dragon back." I scowled at not getting a say in what is happening but stayed silent. Mom butted in "Well even if so we may have to take a trip first." She said drawing my attention away from dad.

She was right, we needed the help of this alpha. I wasn't willing to try and take on another behemoth on my own. My hand subconsciously made its way to my eye to rub it before I realized it and pulled it away.

I took one more look at dad and took a step towards him while returning to the Outcast subject "Since you are so persistent I'm going to tell you my conditions." I said not liking the rudeness before "I will train Outcasts to fly but you're telling the village and… if I believe for any reason that the Outcasts shouldn't fly I'm stopping. Are we clear?"

He blinked a few times probably about the directness before giving a nod "Good, I told Alvin that I would be back within the next few days. So just send a few of the riders over… and have Astrid go with them." He nodded again before I turned my head towards mom "We need to plan a trip."

"Well we should bring a few blankets for you, everything else I already have there. Unless you can think of anything we can leave at anytime." She said gesturing to one of the furs on the chair. I looked at the fur for a second before looking back up "We should leave as soon as possible, I don't feel like time is on our side."

All of a sudden I realized something "I just realized… can't you alone?" I asked not wanting to wst time. She shook her head a little "I'm not sure, I mean… I think it would be better if you show up considering he's risking the nest for you." That was true, and it would be kinda rude to ask someone who has no idea what's going on to help me.

"Ok I'll come with." I said with a short nod before turning to dad "I need you to have Astrid tell Alvin of our little plan, give him a little heads up." He nodded as I turned back to mom "If we are going to leave I would like to do it soon."

"Let's get a few things together and we'll head out. But first, you're going to eat some breakfast." She said finishing in a motherly scolding voice. I was about to wave her off dismissively but the growling of my stomach said otherwise "Fine, I'll have some food and we'll get our stuff together."

Dad left shortly after and I was able to locate some bread quickly eating that while finding a half barrel of fish for Toothless. Mom had me grab some bread for the trip so that we could have a little variation from fish. I went up and grabbed two of my furs on my bed considering we might be sleeping in an iceberg for the night.

I added a saddle bag on Toothless and mom added two to Cloudjumper because he's a bit bigger. After a short while we had our furs and food we went outside ready to begin out trip but a voice called out before we left "Hiccup!" I looked over and saw Astrid running up to us "You're dad told me what you were doing, I just wanted to see you off is all."

"Thank you. Also try to keep Alvin under control for me will you? I know I'm asking a lot from…" She cut me off "Consider it done. You already do so much, I think I can handle this." She said both confidentiality and sincerely "Thank you Astrid, you're a lifesaver. We'll um… we'll be back as soon as we can." She gave me a thumbs up before I waved over to mom to take off.

We took off a little slower to make sure the bags stayed on. Once we got a little higher we sped up "How long will this take?" I called over to her. She moved closer with Cloudjumper to speak better "It will take about two to three hours if the wind doesn't pick up." She said before moving further away once more.

"Next up, the king."

AN: Ok I need to ask a question that I want an HONEST answer for. "Is Volkin starting to feel like a drag?" I won't stop writing this, made that promise, but I want to know if I should change up my writing style a little. I only ask because I feel like I'm starting to post crap chapters that look rushed and boring. PLEASE tell me if you think the quality is going down because if it is I'm going to find someway to change my writing for the better, I'll even take tips. I don't really have much else to say than that, so here's the reviews.

ArthurShade- Thank you

bob19h- Ya, I might implement something like that, after all Hiccup can also fly on his own now ;-)

Inuyasha16451- Ok cool, I don't like taking forever but I don't like posting garbage. Doesn't feel right to.

Black Doberman- So with the whole emotional wreck thing. You have to realize that he's been on the verge of breaking mentally for a long time and only recently is he starting to come back together. He's gaining a stronger mentality. As for forgiveness.. Well honestly I just don't see him being one to hold a grudge too hard, one of the things that separates them from the rest. That and it's still his dad and his mom, his dad had good intentions and his mom has technically never done anything bad to him, but rather only good since the reconnection. Hopefully this little rant helps explain it a little bit.

viper4K- She's pretty evil once you get to know her, and she kinda asked to be the villain. She still asks me if she's blown anything up in this chapter yet -_-

Shadows Rise From The Tides- Heh, ya he's not nearly as bad as the newest villain hehe

Da Ferocious Nightfury- Not sure when or if Stoick will get a dragon, or what i would be. I'll do some thinking.

The Grimm Reaper- Hmm, I suppose I can see it. Also the "ride me" thing…. We'll leave it at that ;-)

7sky- I GET IT! I don't mind criticism until it fills my inbox. Besides, the style of writing I have does exist, there are no rules that state I cannot. I've even read books of the same nature. If you can point anything else out I would gladly like to hear it… once.

Dragonulera- Can you get in contact with e VIA PM? I would like to discuss my grammar problems because I know for a fact that I have them but I don't know WHERE to find them. Please? Keep pointing out anything that doesn't look right. I really do want to make myself better and have this enjoyable. I guess other than the grammar, is the story at least good for you?

Ivanganev1992- Sadly I don't think I am going to add magic to this story, not that kind anyways. BUT, I do like where you are going and might add in something that is like that.

Phoenix373 - Thank you

AN: FYI some of these reviews are on different chaps or contain multiple reviews. So, hopefully you all enjoyed this, if not let me know why, and I hope to see you guys in my next chap.

You took the time to read this; you can take the time to review
