Characters: Arisawa Tatsuki, Inoue Orihime
There is loneliness in company. Everyone would soon learn that the hard way, when they finally notice that the smiles are fake and everybody is pretending. Then they realize that everybody is alone in the end, that even though you think you are walking in the same way, you are also moving away.
(Tatsuki knew that Orihime had grown strong, and that the blonde doesn't need her anymore. And she doesn't resent that... fine, a bit.)
It is then you notice, how trying it is to let go. The things that you treasure had slowly slipped off your hand and you try to grasp it back, only to lose them completely. You can't do anything but to cherish them, celebrate them and then let them go, because even friendships fade, when they finally become so far apart that they no longer know each other, when they finally become acquaintances with no time for each other.
("I'm sorry, Orihime. I've got a case in my hands and I can't leave. Maybe next time.")
And finally, they'll become strangers, who, twenty years later, won't even recognize each other.
("Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone I knew." The raven-haired beauty smiled. "Yeah, it's fine." The brunette bowed and took off, obviously embarassed. 'It's fine, Orihime.')
