Dakota blinked several times in a second, he hadn't remembered blacking out but one moment he had had a gun against his forehead and the next thing he knew, the owner of the gun lied dead in a pool of his own blood on The floor. Beaten to unrecognisable and blood looking like he had taken a bloodbath, to say the corpse looked disgusting would be an underestimating. Dakota sighed as he started to feel the pain from his new injuries he had no recollection of getting, he just knew he somehow had gotten scratches all over his arms and one of his fingers were dislocated. At least he had gotten the key he needed to get his friend out, as long as they would survive he didn't care if his body become a wreck. Tossing the keys in his hand, Dakota started back towards were all the cells were located.
"Alrightyy~ let's get these shuckfaces out." He singsonged while stopping the key into the lock of the first door, the opened with a click. Wasting no time, Dakota swung the door open as smiled as he locked eyes with no other then Jeff. Jeff looked greatly shocked but turned sad as he took in and realised his friends fate, Dakota ignored the look and instead tossed the keys to his friend who catches it with some difficulty.
"Eyya Jeff, be a friend and go get the others out of their rooms." Dakota asked, he didn't feel so well and the itching had started to get worse after his little black out with the guard. He refrained from scratching but it felt like bugs were running around under his skin making him go crazy from all itching, he could feel his temper rising dangerously fast. But he wouldn't give in to it, the next time he blacked out could be his last and he would have no school but surrender his body to the flare. Jeff and the other three people in the room spared him a quick glance before hurrying out the door, making sure not to touch him as they brushed past. Dakota didn't blame them for it, even the most stupid person could see he were disappearing. His control slipping, the flare taking over.
"Cody." The gentle voice of his best friend made Dakota turn around, looking at Jeff with a sad smile. Jeff fidget were he stood but didn't look away, his eyes locked on Dakotas own never breaking the contact.
"We're gonna make it, we're gonna finally be free." He said with a smile slowly forming in his lips, a determined look in his eyes. Dakota chuckled as he ran a hand through his very messy and bloodied hair, if that was true.
"Yeah, like the pigeons." He responded his friends holding up his necklace for his friend to see, Jeff smirked before finally turning around to help the others to free the rest of the subjects. Dakota leaned back against the wall, watching as more and more subjects got let out of their cell but he made sure to keep his distance. He saw Dylan getting let out but didn't make any move to go and greet him, it was better they stayed away from him.
After what felt like hours but we're probably just about ten minutes, Dakota nodded as Jeff walked up to him and handed over the keys. Everyone had been released and we're ready to go, tossing the key a few times in his hand Dakota felt his control of his body starting to dissappear. Frowning hard, he forced himself to stop.
"How long?" Both Dakota and Jeff looked towards the group of subjects, at Dylan who were looking at them with a sad scowl. How long? Good question indeed, Dakota had no clue but he surely knew it wasn't very long.
"Not enough." He growled but quickly stopped himself, inwardly cursing himself for loosing himself. By his tone, Jeff had instantly taken a step back but like before, Dakota didn't blame the shank for being scared. Gritting his teeth, Dakota started walking down the corridor towards were the guards had hurried earlier. He himself had no clue how to get to paradise but he was sure that Arm group did, he just needed to find them.
It wasn't very easy to travel through the corridors with such a big group, not to mention hide the group for every frigging guard who ran by. Holding back the stupid flare from taking over him and trying to shut out the sound of the alarm which never seemed to stop ringing, Dakota were walking on thin ice which would surely break. Finally getting enough of running around blindly, Dakota raised his hand to silently telling the group to stop. No one questioned and just silently complied. Rolling his eyes Dakota peered behind the corner, a stray guard was walking down the corridor looking to be on his way towards the control room.
"Stay." He commanded before silently slipping past the corner and on light feet ran up to the guard, without much thinking took the bigger guy in a choke hold and pushed him against the wall. He could feel his nails digging hard into the guys neck but he wasn't out to kill the shank, that took all his self control to prevent.
"Where's the immunes?" He snarled making the already wide eyed, choking guard flinch. When he didn't answer and just shut his eyes hard, Dakota growled and pressed his fingers deeper into the shanks throat making him let out a strangled breath.
"Th - They're….M-Maz. …E." He managed between gasps, Dakota somehow found it funny how it looked like the guys eyes were gonna pop out of his head. Most likely the flare talking. Pressing even harder watching as the guards breath went as fast as a scared rabbits, Dakota slugged him hard across the face and the guard feel down lifeless to the floor. Eyes wide open and bloodshot, Dakota looked away.
