Well…. That's how it should've gone….
Santana woke up with a slight startle once more, realizing that she had just drifted off into sleep. Had she just dreamt that whole scenario up? Gawd…. What was her subconscious thinking?
Where on Earth did her subconscious come up with the idea that Quinn was trying to protect her? That blonde vixen most probably just saved her for some other devious plan… and here her brain thought it was because Santana actually meant something to Quinn.
"Ha" Santana let out in a mocked laugh,
Ludacris!
Quinn always had an agenda and it was never selfless.
And what the hell was "It was like ecstasy wrapped in a tasty wrapper of cold-hearted biatch!" ?
Could her mind getting anymore wanky?
Only after a few minutes or inner mumbling Santana felt a weight shift from her chest slightly. The golden blonde hair of Dani sprawled across Santana's chest as she slept soundly against Santana. Dani obviously went to great depth to ensure Santana didn't leave the bed any time soon.
Santana felt fine now though… which meant that she had some things to sort out. For one? Sue had some explaining to do.
Letters. Yes… Puck had mentioned letters, but Santana had never received said letters. So why not? Did Sue steal her post? And if so… why?
Had Sue finally turned into the crazy, post-stealing cat woman that Santana had always expected her to be? Reading other people's post in a mindless attempt to feel important?
Santana would never put it passed Sue…
Santana slipped out of Dani's hold quietly, making Dani mumble in disapproval. She would understand when she woke up though right? 'Cause last thing Santana needed was to be hunted down by Dani. She was quite the bloodhound if needed.
"Where you going?" Dani mumbled, her voice still thick with sleep.
To Santana's relief – Dani was practically still asleep.
"I have to pee" Santana replied quickly as she reached for a pair of tiny black shorts and black bra.
"Vampires don't pee" Dani grumbled, obviously irritated that her pillow was trying to fly the coop.
"Doesn't stop me from trying" Santana concluded, before she slipped out of the room quickly.
Finally… Freedom.
Santana looked down the corridor, trying to concentrate her senses to locate Sue. A sound… A smell… A glance… anything would do.
Santana smiled to herself slightly as she realized Sue was sitting in her office.
Cue the Drama…

Quinn breathed out in frustration as she dried her hair gently. How long was Puck planning on taking? It wasn't like he had to find a needle in a haystack. Quinn was not one who held much patience either. Puck was wasting time. Quinn would have to slumber soon and she would prefer analysing the stake before then. Quinn just hoped Puck's reason for testing her patience was due to him not find the stake and not to him actually being stupid enough to play with it.
Maybe she should just go down there and get it herse-
The door suddenly flew open before Quinn could finish her thoughts, revealing a slightly dishevelled Puck.
If Quinn hadn't know any better. She would've sworn that Puck had just gotten –
"Please tell me you did not do what I think you did?" Quinn said quickly as her eyes jolted over Puck's slightly swollen lips and blush cheeks.
Puck's face pulled into a guilty smirk before he wiped his lips with the back of his hand, as though he had evidence across his face.
"The staff here are friendlier than I expected" Puck simply said before handing Quinn the stake wrapped in, what looked like, a table cloth.
"You're such a man-whore" Quinn teased as she grabbed the fabric-covered stake.
Atleast he wasn't mopping over Rachel right? That was a good thing?
Quinn unfolded the stake carefully, ensuring that she could observe it without directly touching it. It was basically what Quinn had expected. The weapon was a 4.4lbs, solid Manchineel stake with groves etched into it for… crossbow use?
Wait…
Was was….
Quinn looked a little closer to the stake between her fingers, realizing that a brand was burnt into the wood. She took a few moments to assess it before turning to Puck, her nostrils flaring with anger.
"And now?" Puck asked as Quinn's expression turned homicidal.
"This…" Quinn stated as she pointed at the branding mark "Is Marcus' crest. His emblem."
Puck took a moment to look at the gorgeous wood work on the stake. He had to admit… this was no simply craved piece of wood.
It had taken time to carve this wood…
To shape it, mould it and engrave it.
This had been a professional job.
But he didn't understand Quinn's statement.
"Marcus?" Puck asked as his eyes fell on an twin eagle crest.
"Sue's maker. This is Marcus' house crest, which means that this is the property of Sue" Quinn growled as her temper seemed to heighten.
"Sue has a stake?" Puck replied, laughing slightly at Quinn's accusation.
"Quinn… this is a Hunter's stake. Why on earth would a Beloved have a stake?" Puck pressed on.
Puck couldn't be sure but he suspected that Quinn needed a rest. All of this had driven her completely up the wall. Why on earth would Sue have a stake? A stake which was more than capable of killing her.
And how the hell did that stake find itself in Santana's chest. Sue's prized champion of the Arena.
One way or another…. This didn't make sense.
Sue would risk too much by attacking Santana.
Santana, her champion, would be dead… which would mean that Sue would lose quite a vast amount of business until a new champion is named.
What would be the point of that if Sue had invited every Beloved to witness Santana's fighting prowess?
And don't forget that Quinn would demand Sue's blood.
Why would Sue wait of Quinn's presence after three years, just to kill Santana?
No one would be that stupid….
Plus Sue had claimed Santana….
And Sue didn't seem to be the type that would invest into something just to kill it for fun.
Quinn's took a deep breath for a moment, calming her temper before she turned her eyes onto Puck.
"Where are Brittany and Sam?" Quinn asked, changing the topic
"Downstairs. Brittany had visited Santana earlier but Brittany said that she was asleep." Puck answered, more than aware that Quinn was trying to change the subject.
So he would change it to something worse…. Santana….
Quinn's nostrils flared once more as her eyes seemed to scan the room quickly. If Santana was a sleep, then why could Quinn smell her distinctive scent?
"Funny… because she seems quite awake to me" Quinn stated as she return her look to Puck, arching her eyebrow in question
"Yeah… Well… Maybe she got hungry?
…
That reminds me. Santana didn't know anything about the letters" Puck mumbled as he tried to smell Santana out like Quinn had.
Puck would hate to admit it, but she was not exactly known for his smelling abilities. He was an Assassin Vampire after-all, not a Damn Battlehound.
But the way that Quinn was able to source out Santana so quickly was quite remarkable….
"I know… Sue had neglected giving it to her" Quinn replied,
"Oh… well that makes sense I guess" Puck lied, nodding his head slowly.
By the glazed-over looking in Puck's eyes, Quinn knew that he had not understood Sue's reasoning. Quinn, however, could not exactly just stand here and explain it to him. She had more pressing matters…
Like why Sue's Family crest was tattoo on a Stake that nearly killed Quinn's fledgling. Now that needed answering, not why Sue never gave Santana silly, little letters.
Well perhaps not silly… and far from Little… but Santana would never see them so…
Who cared?
Right….
