Heeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy
Ya'll, I'm super sorry I haven't updated in so long! I was swamped with 8th grade exams! Yeah, I know, an 8th grader shouldn't have to deal with exams, but I go to an awesome private school. It's a pain at times, but otherwise it's awesome! But I graduated on Thursday :(. I'm gonna miss my friends :C
Alright, enough of that fluff. I don't own anything but my OC's and storyline. And the little defense that Ash makes for Leo, in case you didn't recognize it, it's from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, which I also do not own.
**Oh yeah and sorry about Casey's introduction… I didn't know how to introduce him so far into the story, so I kinda just shoved him in as if he was always there but never mentioned before. I hope that's okay!
ONWARD!
Chapter 37- Abby and the Turtles
"No, noAbs, I'm fine. I'm telling you. Shut up and stop worrying!"
"You're sure? You don't want me to come over to your new place and see how you're doing?"
"No! I mean… uh… that isn't needed. Really!"
"No, I'm coming over. You're recovering from a brain disorder, for crying out loud! I know I'm immature and all 'fun and games' most of the time, but this is serious."
"Okay, now you're scaring me. Last time you took something this seriously was when your favourite anime ended after twenty-five episodes."
"Toradora was great! I wish they had made more episodes…"
"Well, too bad. I actually miss Toradora. It was good."
"Right? Anyways, what's your new address?"
"Well… there's something I have to tell you before I give it to you."
"What?"
"You remember last year when I came to school with my arm in a sling? And I told you four guys helped me and you asked if they were hot?"
"Yes."
"Well I stayed in touch with them, and we're all really, really close now. When I got evicted from my apartment, they said that they had plenty of room and I could come live with them… so now I do."
"Wait, wait. You live with the four guys who saved your life?"
"Yeah. And we live somewhere… different. If I gave you an address, you'd get lost. I'll come pick you up. But there's something else you need to know."
"Oh? What's that?"
"They themselves are a bit different. You have to promise to look past appearances and see them for who they are. Promise?"
"Who the heck do you hang out with?"
"Abby!" I whined. She sighed.
"Fine. I'll try my best."
"Thank you. Okay, I'm on my way to pick you up. See you soon."
"Yup. Bye." As I hung up and ate another one of my McDonalds' French fries, I walked over to Leo, who was in the kitchen drinking tea.
"Hey, Leo."
"Hey girlie. How's it going?" I smiled and hugged him from the side. "Good. Want a fry?" I held the McDonalds' French fry container up to him. He smiled and waved it off.
"No, it's okay. I'm good with my tea." He took a sip and put an arm around me. He knew my love language was touch, so he kissed my cheek or forehead and gave me hugs daily. I sighed and leaned into him.
"Hey, Leo… you know my friend Abigail?"
"I know of her."
"Well, she's concerned about me and she's… uh… coming over. I tried to tell her no but she's very persistent!"
"It's alright, I understand. She loves you, she's protective, and that's completely normal and alright with me. Are you going to get her?"
"Yeah."
"Alright. You go, I'll talk to Sensei and work out a way to introduce us without freaking her out."
"She'll probably be scared at first, but she'll come around. She's a pretty understanding person. I'll go get her." I began to walk off. "Oh, and thanks."
"Don't mention it," Leo replied immediately. With that, I jogged out of the Lair with my fries to Abby's house.
"Ugh, it smells rank down here. Ash, if I had known you live in a sewer, we could've stayed at my place." Abby pinched her nose and groaned.
"I don't live in legit sewer, Abs. We live in an Alintian stronghold. Long story short, aliens used to live in the sewers and farther underground. Most of them are gone now."
"You realize we're walking in poo and pee, right? How is this not disturbing to you?"
"You get used to it. And you don't have to walk in the sewage, you know. You can walk on the walkway." She laughed nervously and jumped out of the sewage onto the walkway. I smiled and quickened my pace a bit.
Abigail and I had been friends our whole lives. We told each other everything, and we did everything together. We play fought together, we watched thrillers and horror movies together, went shopping together, pranked people together… everything. I smiled at the memories; but my thoughts were cut short by my phone ringing. I answered and held it to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ash. So we've figured out how this is all going to go down. April, Casey and Natalia are in the living room, and we're all hiding out of sight. Once you've told her we're turtles, call for us to come out and we will. Sound good?"
"Perfect. Thanks so much."
"No problem. See you soon then."
"Actually, I'll see you in a few, we're at the door."
"Oh, alright. See you in a couple minutes then."
"Yup. Bye."
"Bye." I hung up and smiled.
"Who was that?" Abby asked, turning her focus from the brick wall we were standing in front of to me. "One of the guys. You'll meet him in a minute. Now, let's go in." I pulled the pipe down, revealing a vault-like door with a keypad. I entered the passkey and watched an awestruck Abigail as the doors opened.
"This is insanely radical!"
"No one says 'radical', Abby."
"Your face says 'radical'!"
"That made no sense."
"Since when do I make sense?"
"Touché… Alright, c'mon in," I welcomed her, gesturing inside. "Sorry it's a bit messy, we haven't gotten a chance to clean in a while. April, Casey, Nat! We're here!" I heard a distant squeal and soon was greeted by Natalia. Her ear to ear smile lit up her whole face.
"Ashley! Ash! Ash! Ash! Ashley!" She bounded over and jumped into my arms.
"Ha ha, hey Nat. Man, you got bigger!" I spun her around and lost myself in her giggles.
"Ashley!" April jogged in and joined our hug. "Hey, Ape." She let go of Nat and I and backed away a couple steps.
"You know I hate that nickname!"
"Sorry! Raph and Casey've got me callin' you that!" She shook her head and laughed. "Well, it's good to see you healthy and happy." I smiled.
"Oh, I totally forgot! Ha! Okay, April and Nat, this is Abigail. Abs or Abby for short. Abby, this is April and Natalia. April is a good friend of mine. I stumbled upon Natalia and her mom in the park one day and her mom asked if I would adopt Natalia for money reasons. I know, it's crazy, but I said yes. How could I say no? Last but not least, there's Casey. I don't know where the heck he is right now- that bonehead- but he and April are dating. He's a vigilante."
"Oh, he's watching a fight," Natalia replied.
Abby just smiled and nodded. "Do you all live here?"
"No, just me, the guys, and our father/sensei."
"What? But your dad is… isn't he-"
"Dead, yes. No, the guys' father has adopted me as his surrogate daughter, so I consider him my father."
"Oh, okay. So where are these guys?"
"Before you meet them, well, you remember how I said they're different?"
"Yesh."
"Well… they aren't… human." Her face became serious and sober. Then she laughed and smiled. "Ha! Very funny."
"No, I'm completely serious. They're mutant turtles, and their father is a mutant rat."
"You're really serious… slap swear it." I sighed. Looking at Natalia and stooping down to her height, I instructed her, "Never ever do this until you're older." She nodded.
"Alright. Slap swear." I stood up and took my stance in front of Abby. I closed my eyes and nodded. She slapped me hard, so I slapped her harder. She slapped me back even harder and I slapped her my hardest.
She let out a small yelp of pain, as a cat does when bothered.
"You slapped really hard! You are telling the truth!"
"Yes, I am." I replied, rubbing my cheek. I winced. "Ah, are you ready to- ugh!- meet them?"
"Yeah!"
"Alright then. C'mon out you guys!" One by one, the Turtles and Splinter emerged from different rooms and nooks. Abby's jaw dropped as she carefully examined them each. Her shocked face turned to an ecstatic one as she ran up to Mikey.
"Hey dudette! Nice to meet ya!"
"You talk too! This is beyond amazing!"
She ran circles around him, making a thorough examination of him.
Next, she ran to Raph.
"You're a lot stronger than that one!" She said, nodding towards Mikey. She felt his arms for muscle.
"Now that's hot!" she exclaimed. Raph looked at her in shock and surprise. She slid her hands down his arm to his hand. She held it up to her eye level. Raph's cheeks darkened as she played with his fingers. He looked over her blonde head to me with a look that said, "She's amusing, but weird."
I shrugged and smiled. Abby continued ton twiddle his fingers and entwine them in her own. Then she lifted it up and put Raph's hand on her face.
"What da heck are ya doin' kid?!"
"Your hand is so big!" she shouted, her voice muffled by Raph's hand. I laughed and walked over to her.
"Alright, you're freaking ma bro out. Lemme introduce you to everyone." I pulled her away from Raph so she could see everyone.
"The one who's hand you just shoved in your face is Raphael, or Raph for short But I call him Raphie sometimes. He's the muscle of the four. The first turtle you went to with the orange bandanna is Michelangelo, or Mikey, the jokester. The purple clad turtle is Donatello, a scientific and technological genius. The last of the turtles is Leonardo, or Leo, the leader in blue. Also my boyfriend."
"You're dating a mutant turtle?"
"Yeah, so? Hath not he eyes? Hath not he hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a human is? If you prick him, does he not bleed? If you tickle him, does he not laugh? If you poison him, does he not die? And if you wrong him, shall he not revenge? If he is like you in the rest, he will resemble you in that."
Weh, I didn't know how to end it, so I cut it off there. I hope it was okay :/
