Hey guys! Woohoo I'm on a roll! No, wait I just probably jinxed myself. Hmmm. Nah :D Okay so this was requested by Nikki Pond basically a Jack is scared of water one, with my own take on it. A bit darker than it was meant to be. Hope its good. Oh and request lines are open again! Yay! Preferably some fluff would be good.

UNDER CURRENT

The Nightmares seemed to be never ending in their attacks. The cloudy beach with its soft sands, which squeaked under their feet, only slowed the Guardians down. They had been fighting for two hours and still the demonic horses kept coming, their numbers never dwindling.

"Bunny, on your right!" Jack shouted.

Bunny swiveled in time to smash his boomerang into the head of a Nightmare.

"Everyone, re-group. This is not working." North shouted over.

"North, it's been ages I don't know how much longer we can withstand this." Tooth yelled over the roaring of hooves and pounding of waves on the shore.

"I know, but I have plan. Jack," The big man threw Jack a quick glance to see if the boy was there, "we will gather Nightmares in giant clump then you freeze all of them in single blow."

"North, uh I don't know if I can do that."

"North I don't like this plan, mate."

"It will work. Please Jack you can do it my boy. Then after we will take you back to Pole to rest, da?"

"You're the boss North." Jack said hesitantly.

Jack backed away from the group and closed his eyes. Battle cries and the metallic clinking of swords echoed in his ears until he finally washed them all out. He raised his staff high above his head and took a deep breath before he allowed a raging sensation build up inside of him. This power transformed into a monster, a monster that needed to be realised and soon. A slight groan escaped Jack's lips as he forced open his eyes.

"N-North, hurry!"

"Get ready. No, Jack!"

Suddenly Jack was air born. His eyes shot open in blind panic and he screamed. Jack Frost screamed his raging monster out into existence. Snow and ice blasted across the beach. It froze the Nightmare that had sent Jack flying with a tick to his stomach. He didn't have time to see anything else as his panic quickly morphed into blood boiling fear at what was rapidly coming to engulf him. Jack's power levelled spiked uncontrollably. Projectiles of ice and a furious blizzard erupted out of Jack's staff as the boys' scream rained down as the sound of terror. Complete and utter terror that only grew once Jack Frost hit the water.

He kicked and flailed his arms desperate for the surface but to no avail except exhaustion and panic. His body was being pulled downward by invisible hands. His lungs were being abused and wrung like a sponge. It was cold…and dark…he was alone…so very alone and scared. He was dying; he knew it just like last time. Where was the moon? The Moon would save him, right? Where was it? Where was his sister? Bunny and Tooth? Did he save them? North? What about Sandy? It's so cold and…quiet. He was truly alone.

The first thing they felt after the battle was the bone snapping cold. The sand had crystallised to form ice. Under their feet it cracked as Sandy dropped his dream sand shield. They had been battling, drawing together the Nightmares at the edge of the shore. Sandy had glanced back at Jack a few times until he knew the boy couldn't hold it in anymore. He had flown over to North and elbowed the big man at the same time as Jack had called out North's name. Then North and yelled and Jack had screamed. Sandy had whirled around in time to see the Nightmare kick the frost boy in his stomach with a tremendous amount of force. A spilt second later and an icy power exploded from Jack, propelling him further into the air and out over the ocean. Sandy had given a silent cheer when the Nightmares began to freeze, but it didn't quench the worry he had for Jack as he continued to sail through the air.

"Sandy, move mate!" Bunny had yelled streaming past him to avoid the wave of ice and snow rushing towards them.

They were on top of the sand dunes in seconds, knowing Jack's attack would fade, before it had time to reach them. Sandy and the others stood there petrified when it did the complete opposite. The wave grew to twice its height. Clouds swirled in the sky as the snow plummeted onto them. The snow in that moment, when Jack's scream became a horrific orchestra of terror, reached Sandy's shoulders. It had only been about five seconds and in another two he would have been buried. A dome of dream sand swept around the Four Guardians. He could hear Tooth's cries for Jack, but quickly they drowned out in the blizzard that beat around them.

Now they stood in awe at the changed landscape around them. The beach was a blanket of ice and snow, blue and white. Statues of Nightmares stood as they had been when they were frozen. Some, closer to the shore, had shattered. Sandy gulped, if he hadn't protected them they would have ended up like this. What had Jack been thinking? Jack!

"Look at this. Its…its…its…" Tooth stuttered.

"Scary." Bunny finished.

"Yes. Sandy what is it?"

He made a snowflake and a question mark.

"Jack? Jack! Where is he, is he okay?" Tooth asked, flying towards the ocean.

The others joined her at the very edge of the now frozen water.

"Don't worry, I saw him fall into the water, he'll pop up soon." Bunny said.

Five seconds…ten seconds…fifteen seconds.

"Any moment now. Come on Frostbite where are ya?"

"He must be exhausted after big attack, maybe he is unconscious?" North suggested.

"What?" Tooth yelped and took off over the water, searching.

"Anything?" North called from the shore.

"It's too dark. Jack! Please, Jack. Jack!" Tooth yelled.

Sandy flew over and joined the fairy in their search for their missing member. Nothing, nothing, Tooth was right, it was simply to dark. A dream sand light bulb formed over Sandy's head. He conjured up a multitude of dream sand tendrils and sent them into the water. They dissolved instantly but the light expelled off them was enough to illuminate the dark waters.

"I see him! Jack!"

Tooth dived head first into the ocean, a bullet of colour. Anxious moments later, she resurfaced with an unconscious Jack wrapped in her arms. Knowing the fairy couldn't fly with wet and probably now frozen wings Sandy wrapped his whip around her wrist and brought the pair onto his cloud.

No time was wasted getting Jack back to the sleigh. Bunny laid the boy's head in his lap and started to perform a quick medical exam. North took the reign and launched them into the air while Sandy took care of trying to dry Tooth's wings.

"Bunny how is he?" North asked.

"Bruised stomach, looks like you Tooth, but that's it. Takes more than a kick to hurt an immortal. He's fine, he's fine. No wait, damn it! Jack, breathe! Damn, I'm so stupid, come on mate, breathe ya idiot. Jack!" Bunny said, pumping his hands on the boys' chest.

Suddenly Jack's eyes shot open. He sprung up into a sitting position then raced over to the side of the sleigh and threw up a bucket of water. Everyone sat there, watching hopelessly as Jack slumped against the railing, his breathing rapid and shallow. Jack cupped a hand over his mouth, trying to stifle his sobs. Images rushed through his mind, threatening to consume him. His eyes burned from restrained tears, even so some fell down his cheeks. He shook and trembled until his knees couldn't support him anymore. He was on the sleigh but in Jack's shattered mind he was still captive to the water.

He had drowned. He relived his death and he was alone. In his dying moments no hand came to pull him out. No winking smile. There was no one, not even the Moon. His heart was being ripped. He needed to let go, but he couldn't. The destruction he had caused. What had he done? Tears now poured out of Jack's eyes. His hand clawed at his mouth, muffling his crying. He died. Died. He had died. Jack Frost at that moment wasn't living anymore, in his mind he had died a second time. He was smashed glass. He collapsed onto his knees as his sister's face came to him. And he screamed. He screamed out in pure agony. He had saved her, but this time…this time had tried almost killed them. A monster just like the water. The water that had ripped him from his loved one. He never saw her grow up, never met her first lover, her husband, her children. He wasn't there on her birthday, he wasn't there to see her smile, to laugh and grow up. He had missed her life. He would never get her back. Why? Because of the water. It had pulled him into its cold embrace. He flung his arms around him self and rocked back and forth, wailing and sobbing. He didn't want to die…

The Guardians were shocked when Jack had started to cry and then they panicked when he began to scream in despair. They had tried to approach him only for a icicles to form a barrier around him. They couldn't touch him or help him or even talk to him. They tried to get him out of the sleigh; they had tried to get through to him, to help him. The boy ended up crying himself to sleep, his voice void of any sound. Then, three hours later, the Guardians finally were able to move him to his room where the door was softly clicked shut and wouldn't open until morning.

The sun rose, casting reds and oranges onto the Workshop. The Guardians hovered outside Jack's door.

"Should we, um, knock?" Tooth asked.

"I guess."

Bunny knocked on the wood and when he was met with no reply he opened it himself. The Guardian's poked their heads into the room. There was Jack, sitting at the window, hood up, hand pressed against the frosted glass.

"Jack?" North asked, stepping into the room.

Silence.

"Are you okay?"

Nothing.

"We're worried about ya mate. What happened yesterday?" Bunny asked.

Quiet.

"Sweet Tooth, please. We're trying to help you. Please tell us."

Stillness.

"Jack."

Bunny took a step towards the boy and place a hand on his shoulder. Jack sucked in a shallow breath and held it there. When Bunny was met with no resistance he knelt down to the kid's level.

"I know ya scared, I know ya, but ya just got ta believe in us, in me. Believe in my, you're gonna be…ya gonna be fine."

Jack's head suddenly snapped to Bunny's. His eyes were wide and filled with tears. His mouth hung loosely as he took quick breaths as he hyperventilated. Slowly Jack's face scrunched up and he was once again crying. Jack Frost cried and Bunny was finally there to comfort him. Bit by bit the others came over to help Jack in their own way, whether it be a hand on a shoulder or rubbing his back, it did help and Jack calmed down.

"You don't have to answer Sweet Tooth, but can you tell us what's wrong now?"

Jack glanced at the Guardians, his forehead wrinkled in thought before he gave a jerky nod.

"Would you like a glass of water first?"

Jack suddenly launched himself backwards away from Tooth in panic, shaking his head furiously, staff at the ready.

"No, no, okay no water got it. Sorry Jack. Please just breathe calm down and if you can tell us then that would be great, so then we can help you."

Jack simply blinked at that. His eyes wandered to his staff which he laid in his lap before beginning his story.

"I was going to tell you eventually, but I never wanted to ruin the moment and make things awkward so I was holding it off for as long as possible, besides there's nothing you guys could have done. Yesterday was about the day I became Jack Frost. Do you remember when that kid fell through the ice at my lake?"

They all nodded. How could they ever forget that?

"Well I panicked because…b-b-because…because I fell through that ice. That's how I became Jack Frost. I drowned in my lake and the Moon brought me back."

They sat in silence, staring at Jack wide eyed and horrified. The kid had died.

"So yesterday?" Bunny prompted.

"Yesterday I freaked out when I saw and went into the water. I can't swim, obviously. I just…I was so alone and…cold. This time I wasn't saving someone I was killing. I could have kill you guys like the Nightmares. I just…I'm so sorry."

"Don't be, that was plan and we had faith in you, my boy," North said with a small smile, "Besides, all is fine. No harm done. We don't blame you. Not your fault Jack. Not your fault."

"Thanks North."

"Wait," Bunny said, "you said this time you weren't saving someone, what do you mean?"

"My sister. We were on the ice. It cracked, I got her to safety using my staff, but I launched myself to where she had been standing and I fell in. She lived but…I was never there to see her living…"

Suddenly arms were wrapping around him. Not watery, invisible ones that were unforgiving and reeked of death, but warm, familiar and so very welcoming arms. Jack smiled. He wasn't crying anymore. They stayed like that for half an hour.

"So, I guess ya need to learn ta swim huh?"

"What?" Jack squeaked.

"Da is good idea!" North said, patting Jack on the back.

"No, no I don't think so. Weren't you listening?"

"I was mate, and that's why we're going ta help ya face it. Not ya past and what not, but the whole water thing. Even if you can get up ta ya ankles it will be enough. Stop running Jack."

Jack stared at Bunny and sighed. No more running.

"Okay, fine."

"Cool, Tooth tell the fairies ta clean the pool. We'll start next week. For now though I say we take it easy, what do ya say Frostbite?"

"Yeah, sounds good."

Bunny knew he was in for the long run. Teaching Jack to swim was one thing. Teaching him to get over a heavily rooted fear like this was another thing entirely. Honestly though, he didn't care how long it took. Jack was going to swim.

And he did.

How was that? Oh and do you guys think I should/can make Hit the Road Jack a separate story? If not I've got another one sort of brewing away. An AU possibly. Anyways, reviews please and as I said before requests are open so yeah. Please stay tuned!
