Let Your Silence Sing

Chapter 37

"Oh, hi, Tyki."

"Desiree, what are you doing here? Wait, don't look at me, I'm not unattractive yet!"

"I'm lost. And I don't care. I'm kidnapping you."

"What?" Tyki sputtered.

I nodded. "You heard me."

Now, why was I kidnapping (man-napping?) Tyki, you may ask?

Well you see, it started when Road mentioned the nearby large body of water.

"Large bodies of water? I love large bodies of water! Oh, oh, I got it; let's go swimming in said large body of water!"

Naturally she agreed, and we decided to man-nap Tyki and Allen.

So I grabbed Tyki, and we both separately began to search for the magically disappearing Allen.

Due to my supernatural luck with doors, I stumbled upon one with this strange noise coming from inside the room.

Not those strange noises, you pervert!

Upon opening the door and peering inside, my jaw dropped. "Sheril, you bad boy, stop that!" I kicked his chair leg so his seat toppled to the side, bring him with it. Perhaps the reason I was so rough with him was for revenge. Or perhaps not.

"Desiree?" he looked surprised. "How did you get in here?"

"I'm lost, geez. Cripes, if you want to know about Road so badly, just ask her."

His eyes narrowed. "How did you know that's what I wanted?"

Without pause I answered, "I heard your yelling all the way down the hall. Wait, don't change the subject! You're a horrible man." I pouted at him. "Stop abusing poor Rabbit-chan!"

His expression did not change.

Now, I know that in this show, everyone is a goody-two shoes. I will say now, that I am not one of those. I definitely had an ulterior motive for helping Lavi and Bookman. "Do not anger me, mortal fool. I have these!" I held up a spike heel.

"What are you going to do with that?" he asked drily, looking bored.

"I will not hesitate to kick you in the balls." Sheril's face went white. "Or you know, I could go on another shopping binge again. You're horrible at hiding your money."

He frowned darkly. "So that was you."

"In my defense, Skin was also conspiring against you." I held my hands up in a placating manner.

Then I remembered that there were two abused Bookmen in the room. I turned around and gave Fiidora, who was also hanging around, a stare of death. His eyes went wide, and he gulped.

"And you," I began a second rant, "Take your fricking parasite-y thingies out of the dude! You're not a barbarian!"

"I-I can't do that… Sheril-"

"Nope. Sheril doesn't exist anymore." Fiidora's eyes met with Sheril's. "He. Doesn't. Exist." I enunciated. "What do you even have him for? Leverage? Look at Bookman. He's over there, nice and calm, and hasn't cracked. All you're gonna end up doing is killing a kid." (Ha, kid. It's funny because I'm older than him.)

Fiidora glanced between me and Sheril, unsure how to respond. Sheril groaned. "Why do we even keep you?" he grumbled.

"Excuse you! I'm not a pet!"

"Could have fooled me," Neah muttered in my head.

Shut. Up.

"Well, you heard the girl."

Fiidora double took. "Wait, what?"

"Wait, what?" I repeated, gaping at Sheril.

"We'll let them go," Sheril explained calmly.

"What?" Fiidora and I screeched.

"Don't be so surprised," Sheril scolded, scrunching up his nose. "You're my future, darling sister-in-law. I wouldn't want to upset you."

"That's right," I replied. "Because in the future, I can totally make your life a living hell… wait. Hey, I'm not engaged yet! Keep your headcannons to yourself!"

"My… what?" He blinked in surprise. "What is a 'head cannon'?"

Ah shit. Yet another slip of the tongue. I was getting too used to hanging around with these guys. Feigning disinterest, I turned to Lavi.

"Usagi. Usagi-chan. Rise." I kicked his leg lightly. "Usagi-chan."

When he still didn't wake up, I grabbed his legs and began dragging him into the hall, an amused Sheril, and two other confused men watching my progress.

Bookman also left after me with a sharp look towards both the Noah. "Desiree, correct?" the man questioned, once we were out of hearing range.

"That is my name, yes," I grunted. Damn, Lavi was heavy as heck!

"I will assume you have a reason for helping me."

"Nope. Just helped you out of the kindness in my heart." I dropped Lavi's legs and lay on the wall, heaving. "Damn it, Lavi," I wheezed. "You need to lose weight."

Bookman was still watching emotionlessly, obviously skeptical.

"Fine. I need your help," I admitted.

He immediately went into professional mode. "And what precisely do you need?"

"I need to know more about the war between the Exorcists and the Noah."

"Why should I assist you? I am on no side, so I have no obligation to show sensitive information such as that to an outside woman."

"Well, I'm a friend! And you better not have just emphasized 'woman'."

"Desiree, take him someplace secret. He'll listen to me," Neah said. Without meaning to, my eyes flicked over to him. Bookman's eyes lazily trailed over to the spot I was looking at. "That room is fine," he added, pointing towards a door.

"C'mere," I told Bookman, making a relevant gestures at him as I started towards the door. The man's eyes flickered down to Lavi and back up. "Don't worry, he'll be fine."

Face blank, he entered the room, and I closed the door. I then sat down in a chair.

"I think you should talk to her, 'Bookman'."

Bookman froze, and his head slammed to the side to see Neah, who had appeared. "How are you…?" He blinked a couple of times, before his gaze turned to me.

"I am immortal!" Neah declared, drawing the old panda's attention back to him.

I scoffed. "Stop telling lies to people. You're dead."

"Maybe I'm not. Maybe you're dead," he shot back.

I gasped. "Maybe we're both dead."

"Ooooooooo," we both said together, completely forgetting that Bookman was still in the room, watching us with an unreadable expression.

"I will need to return to retrieve the full notes. If you are able to spare a few days, I can give you complete information."

My mouth gaped for a few moments. "Y-yeah! That would be awesome!"

He nodded emotionlessly. "I will return in three days. As Lavi is not yet well enough to travel, please keep him safe."

"Yup! I'll treat him like my own son!"

"You don't have a son…" Neah mumbled.

"Maybe I do. One you just don't know about!" I huffed and turned away from Neah, walking towards the door. We left the room to find Lavi's motionless body being poked by several akuma.

"Can we kill him?" one of them asked.

"Oi! Keep away from the kid! Shoo! Shoo!" I shouted, running towards them a flailing my arms as if to scare off birds. They glared at me, but dispersed, some lingering more than others. "Well, now that that's done with-" I turned, only to find Bookman gone. "Hey, where did he go?"

Sorry the chapter is pretty crappy. Bleh, I'll fix it later, probably.

Before I start, I want to put out, that I didn't actually plan to include any references at all to chapter 15, but it kind of happened xD

So, everything that happens on the Ark, now happens inside the mansion, because the story flows better that way. Aaand also, the timeline has gone to hell. Just... roll with it, kaythanks.

Speaking of which, finally Lavi and Bookman appear... gosh it's been forever since I had any Exorcists (minus Allen) in the story. Like, the Ark arc was the last time I had them around ._. And Kanda hasn't even appeared once (Realized that for the first time 5 days ago -_-) Anyway, the Noahs are starting to appear a lot more, and since they don't really have set personalities yet, I get to play around with them yay~

NAW's Ramble Corner

NAW: So... motivation has been hard to come by. I'm just glad that I had a few awesome reviewers who were kind enough to help me with ideas ^u^

I mentioned to some of them, that there's going to be a beach scene... That was supposed to be this chapter, but then it started getting absurdly long because Bookman. So yeah, Desiree has three days to do whatever she wants, and then more of the plot will be explained :3

Thanks to the favouriters: miezi10, AceyMarshmallow (I love your fanfic, just so you know~), TheBlackBloodPrincess, and oliviadoty. doty:D

Another thank you to the followers: miezi10, Chitsuki-Tokiwa, AceyMarshmallow, TheBlackBloodPrincess, and oliviadoty. doty!

Make way for le reviewers~!

BlackIrisX: Thank you ever so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed chapter 15. I must admit, I did also xD I was pretty proud of it, since the first draft was possibly the worst thing I have ever written ._. Ohgosh I'm so glad. I wasn't sure if the sexy man-beast thing was going to be funny outside my head xD I kind of thought of the idea while half-asleep, and scribbled it down on a piece of paper. I discovered the paper after and decided I had to squeeze it in somewhere. Shank you vury much, I luv you TTuTT P.S. I'm very happy, I was worried, since internet isn't my favourite flavour :P I prefer cheesecake, actually!

oliviadoty. doty: xD Is this quick enough for you? Whoa, I gotta admit, you're amazing for sending me that whole list! ouo

1.) That will be explained later, since the back story isn't even close to being done ;3 When Desiree's collecting information, this will definitely come up.

2.) That is definitely going to happen. Probably going to be a reoccurring thing, like the prank war, since I set it up last chapter~ I was sad I couldn't put it in this one, but it'll definitely be in two chapters from now (not next chapter, though, because they gonna be pretty :D)

3.) Gotta admit, this would be a ton of fun xP Something similar to that is going appear in the chapter mentioned above (two chapters from now). That is probably also going to be reoccurring *Snicker snicker*

4.) I am so glad you said that! I plan to put some of that in there. In a future chapter, they will have a "girl day", but it's not quite how you'd expect ;3

5.) Yup, that's also going to happen in the near future. Probably about the same time Bookman comes back. Maybe. She's going to need his information, so he's definitely showing up soon ^^

6.) Ahhh yes. An excellent point. Same with 1, that will be explained later. Ties in too much with the plot to talk about here *Wide grin*

7.) I was actually pondering whether or not to do that. I feel like Tyki is really OOC, and I think I could attempt to remedy that if I showed his thoughts. I didn't know if anyone would want to read it, though. Probably in a couple chapters when the action dies down. Probably the chapter before Bookman. Or so.

8.) Okay, I'm going really off cannon with Apocryphos. There's not a lot known about him, so I'm kind of playing around with his character ;D Since it goes off of cannon, I feel the need to explain it explicitly, so that should be explained also. Probably about the same time as the Order. The Noah will be explained around that time also. I'm still toying around with the alternate purpose of akuma, but if I can finish up my theories, that should also be thrown in sometime~

Anyway, I'm not sure if you're asking for a description here, but I'll put it here just in case: Apocryphos is an Innocence that can manifest itself into a body to protect the Heart. It is possibly the only thing that can "easily" kill a Noah. In cannon, it kind of "killed" Road (broke her Dreams), so it's pretty deadly. It's intelligent also. (In my story, he's one of the only ones who knows about the events 35 years ago.)

Sorry for the long reply! ^^; Hope I didn't misunderstand too much! Feel free to send me a message if there's things you'd like me to clarify :)

Thanks also to sora22302 and broweiss27 for finding me on Deviantart ^u^ An extra huge amount of thanks to Actual-Rhode-Kamelot (The-Person-With-the-Innocence) for conversing with me so long on DA xP You're awesome~ *Hugs* I love you. *Hugs harder*

Neah: I haven't spoken at all yet. What the heck is up with that?

NAW: I've had a long day...

Allen: NAW doesn't own D. Gray-Man. It belongs to Katsura Hoshino ^^

NAW: I need to stop being up at abnormal times. G'morning everybody!
