Rise of the Da'ath Knights

(Cue Sword Art Online – Oberon)

Back at Ward 24, a few Anti-Bodies are escorting three prisoners; their code names are Zealoss, Grapplo, and Dragoon. These three are formerly disgruntled Slifer Reds that served Professor Frank before they were defeated. And so, they are seen as Duel Academy drop outs without success and Grapplo is even scorned to see Jaden had graduated.

What does GHQ have in store for them?

The three Duelists have led to an office, where they come face to face with Oberon. Standing beside the twisted Fairy King is the Death Gun android.

Oberon: (slyly smiles as he puts his hands below his chin while his arms are on his desk): Well well, you three finally came.

Sugou opted to invite is the former Paradais Knights.

Zealoss: Who are you?

Sugou: I am Sugou Nobuyuki, but you can also address me as Oberon the Fairy King.

Grapplo (scoffs): Fairy King, really? Is this a joke?

Dragoon: At least he ain't Dwayne Johnson as the Tooth Fairy. (refers to the movie star/pro wrestler's lowest point in Hollywood)

Sugou (snaps his fingers): I wouldn't make fun of your new proprietor.

Death Gun takes out his gun and aims for the three ex-Paradais Knights. The trio quickly react fearfully and put their hands up.

Zealoss: Whoa, uh... (nervously chuckles) No need for that!

Grapplo (nervously sweats): Yeah, I... I was just kidding... you can take a joke, right?

Sugou: I can, but my friend, Death Gun, doesn't take kindly to wise-crackers.

Dragoon: Ok, we get it! Tell your friend to lower the gun!

Sugou orders Death Gun back. The man with the skull visage lowers his weapon.

Zealoss: Look, the last nut job we worked for ended up getting sent back to his time. He might be locked away for life for all I care.

Grapplo: What makes you think we'll be lapdogs for another wack job?

Sugou: You won't, but I hear your last boss didn't pay you well.

Dragoon: He only paid us peanuts, but he gave us some nifty cards and future tech to beat up plenty of duelists.

Sugou: Trust me when I tell you, you three won't be cheated. Gentlemen, I intend to pay you more than your worth.

He takes out a briefcase and opens it. The ex-Paradais Knights's eyes widen and mouths drop at the sight of over several hundred grand. The money seems to be closer to over a million dollars.

Sugou: I'm willing to raise the price, but you'll each be getting $500,000 each.

The ex-Knights look to each other and smile as money signs form in their eyes.

Dragoon: You definitely know us well. This is way more than that cheap sake paid us!

Zealoss: We're at your service, Oberon.

Sugou: Glad we can come to an understanding. Gentlemen, you were once Paradais Knights, but from this day forth, you will be known as the Da'ath Knights.

Grapplo: Da'ath Knights, eh? I like it.

Zealoss: I've already forgotten about Frank already... oops, excuse me, who's Frank? (laughs)

Dragoon: Yeah, Frank who? Quite frankly I forgot.

Sugou: Better to forget your last employer. Da'ath Knights, this is will be the beginning of a glorious partnership. And trust me when I say you'll be each receiving better tools to defeat those three duelists who defeated you before.

Sugou presses a button on his deck. The Da'ath Knights hear a door slid open on their right. The trio see Paradox, the villain from the Bonds Bond Time movie.

Dragoon: Whoa, is that...?!

Zealoss: No shit, it's Paradox.

Grapplo: You got the services of Paradox?

Sugou: Da'ath has been successful in securing many partnerships. This is just one of them. Paradox, would be so kind to show our Da'ath Knights the training facility? We have to better equip and prep them to get revenge on Yugi, Jaden, and Yusei.

Paradox nods and beckons the Da'ath Knights to follow him.

Dragoon (to his cohorts): Well?

Grapplo: Want us to go, Zealoss?

Zealoss (grins): Yes, anything to get get a shot at beating Yugi.

Grapplo: Oh yeah, I owe Jaden a rematch and I plan to destroy him for humbling me!

The Da'ath Knights leave with Paradox and head for a training facility.

Death Gun (to Sugou): Can you be sure they'll improve from their last failure under Paradais?

Sugou: It's all on them and their dueling talent. If they fail, then they're just losers.

Death Gun snickers.

Sugou: What?

Death Gun: He called you Fairy King. Uh huhuhuhuh.

Sugou: That's what I'm called! Oh, shut up, asswipe!

Death Gun: This sucks. Change the channel.

Sugou takes out remote and changes channel back to regular scheduled fic.

Witnessing the ongoing battle, the group were still on edge through the whole conflict. It became one emotional roller coaster after another. The battle was set to escalate soon.

"Dang, this is getting more intense than any fight I've been through," Tai said. "Probably since Burizalor. Am I glad to see Sora and Biyomon safe."

"I really thought we lost them to D-Reaper," Agumon said.

"We can thank Falcomon for that," X was equally relieved. "Hopefully this fight get settled. The longer it goes, the sooner the fusion time limit will wear off."

"He's right, Taichi," Shintomon addressed the Bearer of Courage. "If the Meta-fusion fails, we still have Hikari."

Looking over his shoulder, Tai watched Kari and Gatomon concentrating. Takato tugged on Tai's shirt.

"Tai, if the fusion fails, you and me can go down there to teach D-Reaper a lesson."

"Hey, as much as I'd like that, let's give the others a chance. And if Kari is ready, she can take care of business."

"Oh right..." Takato nodded, peering over toward Kari and Gatomon. "Well, I have good hope she'll exceed your expectations, Tai."

"Oh yeah? How so?"

"Just call it a hunch," the Tamer winked to Guilmon. "Right, boy?"

"Oh yeah!"

X added. "Now there's confidence I like."

"Same here," Tai nodded as he looked over the viewing orb. "C'mon, guys, you got D-Reaper pinned to the ropes. Don't screw this up!"

Chapter 152: Time Limit Up?! The Renewed Celesta X Returns to Fight!

Digital World

Super-Reaper emerged looking extremely pissed and ready to fight. Deep snarls escaped the abomination's mouth while gritting his demon's teeth.

"You cowardly faker, you're gonna get it now!" Daike snarled, raising both of his hands. "You'll pay trying to scare us like that!"

"Wait, Daike!" Sedna pleaded.

"Don't!" Angemon X shouted.

However, Daike didn't heed their concerns and launched a barrage of earth-shattering blasts toward the crater where Super-Reaper was. Super-Reaper tried his hardest to evade the incoming blasts, but ended up getting caught by the blast bombardment.

Ba-Ba-Ba-Boom! Boom! Boom!

Daike kept on spamming the same energy blasts until he was sure he felled Super-Reaper. WarUltima X quickly flew over and grabbed Daike's hand, causing him to cease his attack.

"That's enough! You'll destroy this whole vicinity if you keep that up!" WarUltima X chided the Ascendant child.

"Oh, whoops... I did forget," Daike realized this and ceased his attack.

"I don't know if that did him in," Orcus stated.

"No shit it didn't. It's going to take more than that to beat him!" Brunhilde snapped. "Quit getting our hopes up and get out here, you pink bastard!"

In response to his enemies calling him out, Super-Reaper floated out of the crater looking much more than wear. His body was covered in burns and scratches. His face contorted with anger and gritted his teeth. His body turned beet red to further convey his anger.

"See? Called it!" Brunhilde scowled at the abomination.

"Sheesh, he only has a few scratches on him?! Ugh, this is getting annoying!" Daike snarled.

Sedna turned to her Dai-Valkyrie team. "When they start fighting, we'll follow, got it?"

"Right!" The Dai-Valkyries responded.

"And make sure Daike doesn't do anything more stupid," Angemon X readied his sword.

KaiserGreymon grumbled. "If there's anyone whose not gonna let those kids do something stupid, I'll be that guy!" And deny me the chance to avenge my friends!

BanchoLeomon observed over Super-Reaper and noted. "No, he's weakened. Not physically, but emotionally he is draining. Up to now, he's never fought anyone as strong as either you two." The lion addressed both WarUltima X and Daike.

"Yeah, you two definitely have spooked him with y'alls powers," Pikkan aptly pointed out.

"Certainly more than we dished out," Sheila scoffed, smiling to WarUltima X. "But, good job."

WarUltima X modestly replied. "At least we're breaking him mentally... but we haven't killed him yet."

Unlike his modest partner, Daike openly gloated and let his nose grow out. "Ah, so Dee's gotten all butthurt cause we're whooping him! What does he expect?! He's fighting the most powerful duo in the Digiverse!"

"Hey, don't you get cocky now!" Pikkan chastised Daike as he, BanchoLeomon, and Sheila backed away. "He'll get desperate now!"

"Hah, I'd like to see that pink jerk try!" Daike cackled.

"Heads up, numb nuts!" Shouted WarUltima X.

Bam!

Super-Reaper shot up really fast and headbutted Daike's face. He sent the Meta-Fused youngster sailing hundreds of feet back. WarUltima X quickly took off after them both. The Dai-Valkyrie Kuipers, Angemon X, BanchoLeomon, Pikkan, Sheila, KaiserGreymon, Donarmon, and Henbu & MegaGargomon.

"Ugh, you fool!" BanchoLeomon bellowed.

"He will never learn!" Scowled Pikkan.

Dai-Valkyrie Eris sighed. "I should really given those two a spanking. My parents did that with me when I used to act up."

"Eh, Eris is all about that corporal punishment?" Dai-Valkyrie Ixion asked her.

"Not entirely, just that some kids these days need a good spanking."

"You can talk to Kari and TK dealing with Tike another time," Dai-Valkyrie Sedna stated. "We gotta catch up and make sure they don't get killed first!"

"Yes, I've had just about enough seeing good friends dying," Angemon X added. "Which, I thank to the Digi-Deities that Athena isn't here to see all this."

"Faster guys! He's gonna catch up to Daike at this point!" WarUltima X powered up and gained a great distance by flying over a long stretch of barren land.

(Cue Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods OST – Goku Pinch)

Everyone else caught up with WarUltima X as quickly as they could.

Meanwhile, Keke and Sam managed to get Sora, Biyomon, and Falcomon while heading toward the same direction the others took. Biyomon rode on Phoenixmon's right leg while Falcomon rode on the left leg. Keke and Sam flew with Phoenixmon.

"Phoenixmon, try and keep up with us!" Keke called out to her.

"Of course, just continue leading the way!" Phoenixmon replied as she soared through the air keeping up with the two Ascendants.

Falcomon sighed. "I hope I have enough healing power to heal them."

"I'm sure there'll be plenty for you to heal, Falcomon," the Bearer of Love smiled to Falcomon. "I just want no one else to die. Thanks to you, Falcomon, neither me and Biyomon perished."

Falcomon modestly said. "It's not a problem. I'm just glad I stayed behind like I did."

"Sora, I'm sensing the battle's commenced just ahead," Phoenixmon said, noticing flashes of golden and pink light spreading all over the vicinity ahead of them.

Daike and Super-Reaper continued their battle near a city. As Super-Reaper went for a jab, Daike hopped over and clubbed Super-Reaper so hard he sent him crashing through the city. Super-Reaper was sent sailing through several buildings. His impact landing swept half of the small city and reduced it into rubble.

"There they are! Hey, save some for me, Daike!" WarUltima X jetted forward and flew past Daike. "Where is he?!"

"He's buried under that debris somewhere!" Daike said, scanning the ruined city. He quickly sighted Super-Reaper popping out of the debris. "There he is! At 12 o' clock!"

WarUltima X swooped down like a jet plane and drove himself into Super-Reaper. He airlifted Super-Reaper around the city and dropped him into a body of water. WarUltima X dove into the water and torpedoed his way toward the pink abomination. Super-Reaper opened his mouth and expelled a pink beam. WarUltima X swerved around the the beam and decked Super-Reaper with a right hand. He sent Super-Reaper sailing out of the water and was met with a diving kick by Daike. Super-Reaper plunged to the ground and landed in a heap of debris.

"Whoo-hoo!" Daike hollered. "Did you enjoy that landing?!"

"Daike, stay on him!" BanchoLeomon chastised the Ascendant boy.

"Allow us!" Sedna and Angemon X both intervened, leading the Kuipers against Super-Reaper.

(Cue Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone OST – The Beast)

As Super-Reaper got up, Dai-Valkyrie Sedna summoned a sword, her Dragon Saber, and sliced off his right arm. She then took out her Ice Trident and unleashed her Sedna Arctic Breeze, an arctic wind, over the severed arm. The frozen air sealed the arm in ice.

Sedna smashed her trident over the frozen arm and caused it to break into pieces.

Angemon X followed up by slicing Super-Reaper's torso through, splitting the abomination in half. Super-Reaper's upper body slide off his lower half. Angemon X spun around fast and blasted away the lower half with a Ki beam.

Super-Reaper's upper body floated up while regenerating his lower body and right arm.

Dai-Valkyrie Varuna quickly ran her battle axe through and split Super-Reaper's body in half. Varuna then proceeded to cut him up into pieces. Before she could discharge light energy to finish him, the pieces swirled around and attempted to grab Varuna, but Dai-Valkyrie Quaoar swooped in and threw a bunch of red roses that made each piece explode.

"Quaoar, I can always count on you," Varuna said as Quaoar dropped down next to her.

Grasping each other's hands, Varuna and Quaoar channeled their energies into their fingers. Once Super-Reaper regenerated himself, the Kuiper lesbians unleashed a beam, combined with their own Sailor energies, and blasted Super-Reaper away.

"No monster will ever conquer our love," Quaoar stated, flipping her hair back.

Varuna added with a cool smirk. "Damn straight."

Dai-Valkyrie Eris swooped down behind Super-Reaper and lassoed him. She lifted and tossed him around. Super-Reaper tried breaking loose, but Eris tightened her grip and tossed him into a rock formation.

"Did you enjoy that fall?!" Eris yelled to him. "C'mon, I know you can get up from that!"

Super-Reaper popped out of the debris and roared. As Eris distracted him, this allowed Donarmon to bumrush him with Donar Force, a surge of lightning streaming out from his own body. He body slammed and electrocuted Super-Reaper with high voltage to make him explode. Super-Reaper's pieces quickly slipped away and reformed, but Wildentmon grabbed Super-Reaper and punched a hole through his chest.

Wildentmon growled. "Don't think we'll let you get away with killing our friends,including my buddy Dimitro!" He reminded Super-Reaper of the Warrior of Metal. He focused Ki into his right hand and discharged an immense blast that tore through Super-Reaper's back. "Just something I learned and picked up on while being here!"

As Super-Reaper stumbled forward, a barrage of arrows struck him all over his body. The creature turned and sighted Dai-Valkyrie Ixion standing on a rock formation. She fired more arrows that he dodged. The more he moved, the more sluggish he was becoming.

"I know my poisons won't kill you, but enough of those will slow you down, monster!" Ixion exclaimed.

"Human scum..." Super-Reaper snarled, pointing his head antennae to Ixion's direction. As he prepared to blast her, a black wormhole formed under him.

The next thing Super-Reaper realized he was relocated far away from Ixion. "What in the...?!" He paused to see a black dome encapsulating him. "What trickery is this?!"

Dai-Valkyrie Orcus dropped in, striking a pose. "Tada! I happened! That should hold you for a few seconds, but enough for me to make my get away! Tata!" She winked and flew away.

"GET BACK HERE!" Super-Reaper yelled out loud enough to shatter the black dome. He sighted Orcus in the distance and prepared to pursue her. "You're not getting away from me!" As he pressed his foot down, eight pillars of dragon-shaped flames erupted from the earth and ensnared him. "Ugh, damn it all!" He looked up and saw KaiserGreymon with his sword raised up high. "You...!"

"That's right. I've got you now, monster!" KaiserGreymon growled, deepening his tone as if he were possessed by malice. "I've got where I want you! Pyro Dragons!" He commanded the dragons to entangle Super-Reaper. As the dragons converged together, they formed a bigger dragon.

Before Super-Reaper could fight back, the big dragon blew up and incinerated the pink abomination. The monster's pained roars filled the vicinity. KaiserGreymon watched as burned pieces fell to the ground. Taking no chances, he positioned his Ryugonken sword and shot fire arrows to blow away the Super-Reaper's remains. Dragonfire Crossbow!" He unleashed more arrows, clearing away the vicinity and making sure the Super-Reaper's remains were destroyed. "DON'T YOU EVE DARE TRY COMING BACK! CAUSE I'LL BLOW YOU AWAY SKY HIGH! DIE! DIE!" Izumi, Tomoki, Kouji, Kouichi, Dimitro, and even you Seadramon... THIS IS FOR YOU!

"Takuya, stop, you've done enough!" Donarmon exclaimed.

"NO WAY! NOT UNTIL HE'S ENTIRELY GONE!"

"He's going off the deep end!" Sheila was taken aback by the Warrior of Fire's intense mood.

"No, that's what you gotta do to get the job done," Pikkan stated.

"Yes, but Super-Reaper has a knack to pop up when you least expect! Takuya still needs to remain vigilant!" BanchoLeomon yelled.

Dai-Valkyrie Sedna called to KaiserGreymon. "Takuya, you're keeping yourself open! D-Reaper could be anywhere!"

"Then, I'll just have to blow incinerate this whole vicinity to get the job done!" KaiserGreymon declared, driving his sword through the earth. He focused and unleashed an immense inferno blaze from his Ryugonken. He continued pumping out more fire to take out the remaining Super-Reaper. "D-Reaper, let's see you come back from this!"

Suddenly, Brunhilde sighted something pink creeping out of cracks.

"Takuya! He's over here!" The Valkyrie wasted no time summoning blue flames. "This one's on me!" She fired the blue flames toward the pink pieces and blasted them into dust. "Yes, got him!"

"DID YOU?!" Came a demonic voice behind her.

"Brunhilde, behind you!" Sedna called out to her.

As Brunhilde looked over her shoulder, Super-Reaper's head was floating in front of her without a body. He prepared to mouth blast her at close range, but WarUltima X came flying in and kicking Super-Reaper's head away.

Brunhilde came out of her shocked state. "...wha... He almost got me..."

"The guy's a sneaky bastard, you wouldn't have known where he was going to pop out next," WarUltima X beckoned Daike to follow him. "We'll take things from here, Brunhilde. You relax."

"Right..." Brunhilde muttered, getting over the harsh reality she could've died right then and there. However, the warrior's side in her wouldn't accept being humbled by a bubblegum monster. Then, she remembered. "Oh...! Hey, your time limit!"

"What?!" WarUltima X asked, trying to discern what Brunhilde warned him over. "Time... time... oh shit." He just remembered. "Daike!"

(Cue Dragonball Kai OST – The Ebb and the Flow)

However, Daike and Super-Reaper were zipping right over toward another area of the abandoned city. KaiserGreymon beelined over to finish where he left off. He found a building rooftop to land on and watched the heated fighting going on.

"No way are you getting the chance to kill him. He's mine," the Warrior of Fire exhibited selfish tendencies. However, before he initiate his next attack, Super-Reaper crashed on the building he was standing on. "Whoa!" He flew off the building that started to crumble. "Hey, watch it!" He yelled out to Daike, who swooped down to attack Super-Reaper.

The pink abomination opened his mouth and expelled a big blast that hit the Ascendant youngster head-on. The blast not just engulfed Daike, but wiped the remnants of the city off the map.

Boom!

The immense force blew KaiserGreymon away. Everyone else, including WarUltima X, shielded their eyes from the explosion.

"Damn that's one immense blast!" WarUltima X yelled out. "Daike! Talk to me, buddy! Are you still in there?!"

As the explosion died and the smoke cloud cleared away, it revealed Daike covered in dust and scratches. His spiky hair was poofy. He seemingly lost a pair of teeth. The youngster coughed out smoke.

"That one hurt... ow..."

Super-Reaper grinned fiendishly. "Heheh."

"Now... RIGHT BACK AT YOU!" The Meta-Fused Ascendant responded with a big mouth beam of his own.

The beam blasted Super-Reaper and engulfed him almost to the point of vaporizing him altogether. As Super-Reaper crashed to the earth, he was already on the verge of defeat. His body was covered in burns and scratches. He could barely even stand. Daike dove down and flew over to Super-Reaper. As Super-Reaper turned...

Bam!

Daike landed a kick to his jaw. Super-Reaper stumbled back, leaving himself open for Daike to attack. Daike went for a straight jab, but the creature countered with his left arm. Daike kicked Super-Reaper off his feet and kicked him in the back of the head. This led to the child unloading a barrage of punches all over Super-Reaper. WarUltima X took off after them.

"Don't you kill him before I do!" KaiserGreymon called out, pursuing Super-Reaper and Daike.

"Takuya just isn't giving up. He's becoming as bad as Daike," Angemon X observed.

"Except he's being revenge driven," Sedna added.

"Nonetheless, we need to follow them!" BanchoLeomon declared, flying ahead with Pikkan and Sheila.

Central Planet

Tai & Agumon, Takato & Guilmon, X, Simms, and the Supreme Digi-Deities were getting invested int the fight.

"Just look at them go, Tai!" Agumon pumped his claws up. "They're just wailing on him good!"

"Keep it up and maybe Kari won't even need a turn!" Tai announced.

Upon hearing this, Kari and Gatomon both were perplexed.

"But, how much time do the two have left?! Their fusion might soon wear off!" Takato said.

"He's right! They need to finish it now!" X added, painstakingly watching the fight progress.

Daike decked Super-Reaper hard, nearly twisting his head around. Super-Reaper stumbled back twitching in pain. The creature's face was beaten to a pulp complete with a swollen right eye. He watched Daike powering up unable to move around freely like he wanted and at Daike's mercy.

But, Daike decided play time was over.

"Hahah, time for the ultimate finish!" Daike boasted. "I'm gonna beat you to a pulp, chew you like bubblegum, and spit you out! Wait, no, I'll just kick your ass and chew you like bubblegum, but I'll be outta gum. Feh, screw it! I'll just blow you away! In one shot! So you never show your ugly face again"

"FINISH HIM NOW!" WarUltima X yelled out, forging a golden arrow in his right hand. "This will do...!" However, he noticed a yellow line forming over his body and before he knew it, he split back into WarAngemon and Ultima X.

"Ugh, just great!" WarAngemon yelled out.

"Daike!" Ultima X called out to the Ascendant youngster.

Oblivious to WarUltima X's split, Daike still prepared to finish off Super-Reaper.

"NOW YOU'LL...!"

(End theme)

Poof!

Daike lost his Ascendant 3 form and regressed to his basic form. Whatever attack he had ready went away like a fart in the mind.

"Uh... you'll... oh shit," Daike realized how screwed he was now. He looked up and gawked in aghast. "You... you gotta be kidding."

WarAngemon and Ultima X both landed behind Daike.

"See? This is what happens when you showboat!" WarAngemon chided the child.

"Well, hey! Where were you two?!" Daike snapped at them both.

"Trying to keep up with you!" Ultima X retorted, not taking any of Daike's snippy remarks.

Once the others arrived, the worst they feared they come true and the most effective devices were ultimately unable to put away Super-Reaper.

"No, the time limit has passed!" BanchoLeomon let this unsettling notion sink in.

"Damn it, that brat had him!" Pikkan growled, conveying his frustrations over Daike. "He had the chance and let it slip through his fingertips!"

"This can't be over..." Sedna muttered.

"Damn straight because now's my chance!" KaiserGreymon dove down to take on Super-Reaper. "Get back, guys! I'm taking this fight now!"

"Wait, Takuya!" WarAngemon tried to stop him, but the Warrior of Fire flew right by him. "He can still recover!"

"Hey, no fair! I was gonna finish him!" Daike snapped.

Ultima X sighed. "You had your chance, little man. You blew it."

As KaiserGreymon swung down his sword, he seemingly got Super-Reaper.

"Payback's all mine!"

"Whoa, did Takuya really get him?!" Guilmon wondered, pulling the viewing orb closer.

"Hey, let me see!" Takato demanded.

"No, what he is thinking? He's letting revenge blind him!" X vented his frustration. "This is no way to defeat your enemy!"

"Shit, you're right! D-Reaper's recovering!" Tai paled as he witnessed Super-Reaper's body healing from KaiserGreymon's attack.

Simms added. ""To matters worse, Daike and WarUltima X's fusion limit wore out. They're both out of the running of defeating D-Reaper now!"

"This isn't good, father! We need to send Tai, Kari, Takato, or someone to turn the tide on that monster!" Shintomon pleaded to Shinmon.

(Cue Dragonball Kai OST – Ominous Silence (0:00-1:07))

Looking over his shoulder, Tai saw Kari and Gatomon still completing their training under Gosenzomon's watch.

The Bearer of Courage cursed under his breath. "C'mon, what's the hold up, Kari and Gatomon?"

Super-Reaper parried KaiserGreymon's sword slash and shot a beam into the Z-Hybrid's gut. He sent KaiserGreymon sailing back and left him laying in a heap. Super-Reaper's swollen eye and face repaired themselves. He grinned and stared intently at Daike. As Daike flinched, WarAngemon and Ultima X stepped up to defend him.

"Stay behind us," WarAngemon ordered Daike back.

"Hehehe, I gotta admit... I screwed up," Daike chuckled, scratching his head.

Ultima X bopped Daike's head. "You think that's funny?!"

Super-Reaper sauntered toward WarAngemon, Ultima X, and basic form Daike. The others descended and prepared to unite against Super-Reaper. Donarmon and Wildentmon rushed over to tend to KaiserGreymon.

"Takuya, maybe you shouldn't be picking a fight with that monster," Donarmon said, lifting and throwing KaiserGreymon's arm over his back. "Leave this to the others."

"No... I have to... avenge our friends..."

Wildentmon added. "We can leave it up to the others to do that."

"But, um, our biggest guns lost their Meta-Fusion. What now?" wondered the Warrior of Thunder.

BanchoLeomon grumbled under his breath. "Damn it all, it's all over."

Pikkan scowled. "And we can all thank Daike's dumbass for this."

"Lord Gosenzomon! Their Meta-Fusion wore off!" Tai pleaded over to the old sage.

"At this rate, they and the others aren't going to last!" X exclaimed.

Kari gasped upon hearing this. "Oh no! Loo, I'm sorry, but I need to go now, Lord Gosenzomon!"

The elder Digi-Deity closed his book and nodded. "Sure, you can go now. I've been done for a while."

"What?!" Both Kari and Gatomon were taken aback by Gosenzomon's nonchalant response.

"You've been done?! But, for how long?!" Tai asked him.

"Oh, maybe by about five minutes. I almost lost count."

"And you have to be all frank about it!" Gatomon hissed, drawing out her claws but refraining herself from scratching his face.

"Why didn't you say so?! I've been done training with Homeostasis. She said I could go as soon as you were finished!" Kari cried out.

"Oh, but it's much more dramatic not telling you. I wanted to get some kind of reaction out of you."

"This isn't the time to be trolling anyone!" Takato exclaimed. "My friends and Tai's friends are out there trying to lay down their lives!"

"Oh, relax, boy," Gosenzomon silenced Takato. "Besides, the training with Tai has stirred a latent potential that lays dormant within you. And yes, I'm talking about that phoenix spirit, Suzaku. You and Suzaku should be better able to hone and manipulate the flames you wield."

"Really? So, could I potentially get up to Tai and Kari's level?" Takato asked, curious about his where his limits are.

"Only if you keep training and in due time, you can. Having Suzaku will benefit you. His power, permitting if you let him, can balance that horrendous Hazard power. If you stay the right course, your power can go anywhere it wants to," the elder informed Takato of his abilities and limitations.

"Then, I just need to keep a clear head..." Takato muttered. And prevent another case of NegaMegidramon again. Suzaku, can I trust you to keep me and Guilmon from ever going down that path again?

'With the best of my ability, Takato.' Suzaku telepathed with his Tamer.

Guilmon raised a claw. "We'll do our best, elder! I think me, Takato, and Suzaku will make one strong Digimon! Maybe one stronger than BlazeGallantmon!" He reassured everyone, but most of all lifted Takato's spirits.

"You still believe in me, buddy. Thanks," the Tamer smiled to Guilmon.

"Anyway, Hikari, Gatomon, you'll need to hurry!" Shintomon cried out.

"Yes, but how do I become this ultimate being?" Kari wondered. "Wait, Homeostasis said I should..." She grabbed Gatomon's hand.

"I'm ready whenever you are, Kari," Gatomon closed her eyes and concentrated. "She said to turn Ascendant whenever we want."

"Now, hold on a sec!" Gosenzomon warned.

(Cue Dragonball Z OST – Unofficial Super Saiyan 3 Teen Gohan by The Enigma TNG (0:00-1:30))

As pink light enveloped both Kari and Gatomon, the Crest of Light symbol materialized on the girl's chest. The pink light that encapsulated them converted into a beacon of golden light. As the light faded, Celesta X stood in their place. But, she didn't stop concentrating her powers. She continued while the holy earth beneath her feet quivered. She could sense the flow of mystic power slowly cascading out of her body.

Whoosh!

Erupting from Celesta X came an immense force. The new mystic power flowing out created a wind force that pushed back and overwhelmed just about everyone. Gosenzomon was the first to get swept back as he went wailing away. The Supreme Digi-Deities held their ground, greatly shocked by Celesta X's power. Takato and Guilmon were taken aback by Celesta X. But, none were more in awe than Tai and Agumon.

"Tai, are you feeling this?! It's incredible!" Agumon's eyes and mouth widened in awe.

Tai eyed Celesta X enveloped in a bright white aura. "...yeah... can't believe this is really Kari!"

Streams of white light wisped around Celesta X and seemingly got absorbed into her body. As the white aura slowly faded and became more subtle, the new mystic form was revealed to all. Combining Ascendant and Divine Sage power, the new 'Mystic' Celesta X emerged fully garbed in a white sleeveless kimono-like top that was also trimmed with pink, including a pink belt tied around the waist. Her bottom was covered in a long white pants and matching colored boots. In contrast to the other Ascendants, her hair stayed brown and got longer, going down past her shoulders. Her irises became bright pink. Any trace of her pupils faded and became white. The Crest of Light, glowing pink, materialized on her forehead.

"Whoa, I didn't say to transform right in front of me!" Gosenzomon spat out, shaking his fist at her.

Opening her clenched hands, Celesta X noticed white lightning bolts surging through her hands and body. She never felt stronger than now. Combining Ascendant and Homeostasis powers created a new warrior beyond Tai's comprehension.

(End fades)

"Wow, I never felt so... strong. It's amazing!" The Bearer of Light observed her newly formed body. She pivoted over to Tai and called to him. "Tai, X, Supreme Digi-Deities, it's incredible!"

"I'll have to concur with that," X couldn't contain his elation behind the mask. "Tai, so what do you think of Ascendant and Homeostasis power fully coalesced as one?"

"It's astounding. Man, we should've done this from the start!" Tai said. "Way to go, Kari!"

Takato was aghast. "God, this is beyond words... it's..."

Guilmon smirked. "Awesome, right?"

"Yeah, everyone else just about took the words outta my mouth. I hope I can become something like this."

"What's more astounding is that she barely even resembles an Ascendant anymore," Tai noted Mystic Celesta's new features. "Her hair ain't spiky and gold anymore."

"As evidenced, Homeostasis' power has mostly overtaken Kari's Ascendant traits," Shinmon attested, seeing Mystic Celesta's new appearance. "Changing Kari into this new form is more to Homeostasis' own personal taste."

"I feel much less stress and fury in my body. I feel more subdued," Mystic Celesta smiled, stretching her arms out and spinning her body around. "It's a good feeling."

"This is more you, Hikari," Shintomon said.

"Kari, you've got to hurry to the Digital World before its too late. Kibitomon or Buddhamon can take you there," Simms said.

"Then, I'll go," Buddhamon insisted, walking up to Mystic Celesta.

"Thank you, Buddhamon," she smiled.

(Cue Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST – Cloud Smiles)

"Kari, we'll be watching you from here," Tai approached Mystic Celesta. "Sis, between us, there's a huge gulf between our powers now. Even I'd be afraid to fight you as you are now."

"Oh, Tai, you're just saying that to cheer me up," Mystic Celesta turned away, not even looking him in the eye. A smile curved on her features. "But, thanks for being upfront with me."

"I have the deepest confidence you can win this for us, sis," Tai said. "Maybe me and Takato won't even get a crack shot at D-Reaper. Now go and be a hero, sis. Everyone else's waiting for you back in the Digital World. Sora, TK, Davis, BanchoLeomon, Keke, and the others are in desperate need for a savior now."

Mystic Celesta nodded. "And that's me. I get it."

"Oh, and sis... sorry..."

"For what?"

"For not stepping in sooner when I left you to fight Virus. That was the dumbest decision I've ever made since force digivolving Agumon into SkullGreymon. I completely overestimated your power... I thought you could've brought out your Amazing Grace power if you were pushed into a corner. I didn't even realize then that you hated to fight. You're definitely not like me... someone who lives for adventure and fighting," Tai clenched his fists and sighed. "I'm sorry, Kari. If you still hold any hate for what I did back then and almost let you die... go ahead and deck me one, sis."

Shocked to hear this, Mystic Celesta assumed her brother would've let this go. He humbled himself before her. A cold smile formed on her face. She waltzed right up to Tai and raised her right hand.

Takato, Guilmon, and Agumon closed their heads, preparing for the biggest slap in the Digiverse.

However, much to their surprise and to an extent Tai's, Mystic Celesta held her palm right in front of Tai's face. She raised an index finger and pressed it on his forehead.

"I forgive you, brother," Mystic Celesta genuinely said. "Besides, Sora kinda already did it for me."

Tai recalled Sora's slap following the end of the War Games. "Oh yeah... how could I forget...? But, thanks, sis. Once this is all over, you won't need to fight anymore?"

"Who knows? As long as darkness exist, my light is needed to counteract it," Mystic Celesta said. "D-Reaper's exactly that dark force I need to destroy now."

"Yeah, now good luck, sis! Kick Dee's butt!" Tai said.

Mystic Celesta quickly embraced Tai. The Kamiya siblings embraced. X watched and nodded in approval.

"Good on you for admitting your mistakes, Tai," muttered the masked watcher.

Tai pulled away from Mystic Celesta. "Now get going."

"Right!" Mystic Celesta replied. She raced over to Buddhamon and waved to everyone. "Goodbye, everyone!"

"Beat that monster for all of us, Kari!" Takato called out to her. "I just hope she doesn't fall for any of D-Reaper's tricks..."

Tai gave a thumbs up to Mystic Celesta, who put a hand on Buddhamon and vanished via the panda sage's relocation power.

"Think she can do it, Tai?" Agumon inquired to his partner.

"I'm sure she will. She has to."

As everyone kept their eye on the spot where Mystic Celesta vanished, Gosenzomon scratched his head and sighed.

"Ungrateful girl. She could've at least given me a hug and kiss before she waltzed off!"

Simms overheard Gosenzomon and shuddered. "You dirty old geezer."

(Unofficial Super Saiyan Three Gohan Theme resumes (4:01-5:25)

Buddhamon and Mystic Celesta materialized on a cliff in the middle of some rocky terrain. Mystic Celesta felt the winds blowing against her hair and face. She brushed her hair aside and turned around to see Buddhamon preparing to leave.

"It's in your hands, child," Buddhamon said.

"Thank you, Buddhamon."

"We'll all be praying for your success in our sage realm," Buddhamon nodded, giving a thumb up to mystic warrior.

"Goodbye, Buddhamon. Say farewell to the Supreme Digi-Deities for me."

Shoom.

Buddhamon vanished and left Mystic Celesta in solitude. The Bearer of Light closed her eyes and linked her mind with Homeostasis again.

'You have my power resonating with you, Hikari. Use whatever means necessary to destroy the D-Reaper. You have all the tools to extinguish this malevolent force.'

Yes, I understand. Thanks, Homeostasis. Mystic Celesta opened her eyes and sensed an assortment of high powers clustered in one location. "There. They're all in one location. Good, and I'm not that far off!" She hastily took off and jetted toward the exact location where everyone was fighting Super-Reaper. TK,Tike, Kara, Davis, everyone, I'm coming!

(Cue Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone OST – Angel Attack)

Meanwhile, the battle had reached new lows. Super-Reaper completely decimated most of the warriors and things got worse when Daike tried one last counterattack. The Meta-Fused child tried his Super Ghost Suicide Attack, but Super-Reaper merely used super breath to wipe the ghosts out. Daike's fusion finally wore off, splitting him back to Tike and David.

When Keke, Sam, and Kara arrived, they tried their hand, but they, too, fell to Super-Reaper. BW soon arrived to give a helping hand to BanchoLeomon, Pikkan, and Sheila.

Super-Reaper dodged BW and Pikkan's barrage of punches and kicks. When BW threw his Terra Destroyer, the abomination quickly deleted the attack. The pink monster quickly made short work of Pikkan and BW. As Sheila tried her paralysis threads, Super-Reaper saw through her attack and dissolved it with a touch. When he fired a deletion beam at her, BanchoLeomon dove in and pushed her away. The beam went right by and deleted a rock in Sheila's place.

The three Legendary Warriors were down. Kazu tended to Guardromon, who despite great effort was beaten effortlessly. The Kuipers, Angemon X, and Brunhilde prepared to attack, but Brunhilde bumrushed ahead and threw a spear imbued with blue flames. Super-Reaper fired a Candy Beam, turning the spear into a candy cane.

"Brunhilde!" Sedna shouted, puling the Valkyrie away.

"Damn it, there's gotta be a way to beat this guy!" Brunhilde cursed her own power. "Nothing I do seems to touch this guy!"

"Don't get too caught up in revenge like Takuya did, Brunhilde," Ixion advised her.

Angemon X said. "I know full well what happens when you rush in blindly. It's a mistake I've had to learn."

(End theme)

Super-Reaper scanned his opponents, starting with the D3s and Ascendants. Then, he pivoted over to the Kuipers, Angemon X, Brunhilde, and the Legendary Warriors.

"Ugh, if only we had gotten the chance to finish him!" WarAngemon said. "Davis, we gotta try even if it's a big stretch we can beat this monster."

"Big stretch? Try a humongous stretch!" Ultima X exclaimed. "We're screwed!"

BanchoLeomon stepped in front of WarAngemon, Ultima X, Tike, and David.

"You're not alone. I know I can only do so much, but at least we die together," BanchoLeomon admitted to his own weakness.

Sedna interjected. "Not if you still have us. Ok, Kuipers, this is our last shot. We'll call upon our spirit animals to power us up."

"Think it'll work?" Varuna asked the Kuiper leader.

"It has to and I know it will...!" Just then, Sedna noticed Super-Reaper sitting down and falling asleep.

"He's fallen asleep!" Tike shouted. "What a jerk!"

"This just might be our shot to neutralize him," WarAngemon whispered to Ultima X.

BanchoLeomon thought the contrary. What is he doing? Merely toying with us? The fact he's purposefully left himself open... has to be a trap!

Suddenly, the D3s and the Ascendants sensed a powerful presence closing in on their location. The Kuipers, too, felt the immense power source. It felt like a cascade of energy heading their way. This was more than enough to awaken and draw the Super-Reaper's attention.

(Cue Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST – Savior (0:32-2:15))

"What's this?! A huge Ki! Is heading our way!" BanchoLeomon exclaimed, looking up to the sky.

"A big Ki? It has to be Omega X, right?" Sam assumed.

"Probably, I mean who else could it be?" BW wondered.

"I don't think it's him!" Keke cried out. "No, it's not. It's even stronger than his."

"Not Tai?" Sora said. "Phoenixmon, can you make out who it is?"

"Yes, but this power is rather obscure. It's nothing like I've ever felt before."

"I'm not sure, but there's something familiar that I'm starting to sense from it. It's radical!" Ultima X cried out.

"No, that's not Tai!" WarAngemon shouted as he noticed Mystic Celesta flying through the air and descending toward them steadfast. "It's Kari!"

"KARI?!"

"It's her all right!" Sedna announced to everyone. "Her power's different, but that's definitely her!"

"See? What did I tell you?" Brunhilde addressed the D3 and Ascendant group. "She's alive all right!"

Henbu and MegaGargomon were not too surprised either.

"See? I knew things would play out like we would they would," MegaGargomon said. "So, Henry, you still wanna us the Operation Doodlebug. Say when and we'll do it."

"Let's hold off on that," Henbu suggested.

As soon as blur rushed right passed the group, they all turned with widened eyes and gaping mouths.

"Hell yeah! It's about time!" Brunhilde shouted, feeling much better about their situation now.

"Yes! It is Kari! Looks like Dee is going to be in big trouble taking down Celesta X!" Tike cried out.

"Don't jump to conclusions, Tike." BanchoLeomon warned. "For all we know, D-Reaper still hasn't reached more of his true power. On the other hand, this is going to be very interesting to see."

"C'mon, Kari!" Keke cheered her on. And there goes any chance of me wanting to fight her!

As soon as Mystic Celesta levitated to the skies above, Super-Reaper was looking right up at the hovering mystic with a look of hatred across her face.

Sheila pondered. "Her power has gotten much stronger! I wonder what kind of power-up those Digi-Deities gave her?"

"If I know any better, it's a big power-up," Angemon X said, closely observing Mystic Celesta.

"Probably from an old geezer," Sedna managed a snicker.

Wildentmon rose and looked up to Mystic Celesta . "Kinda wish that were me up there. Good for her."

Mystic Celesta lowered her head right down over to the Super-Reaper and then cupped her hands together. A large energy ball forged and condensed within her palms; and then with a tremendous force behind it, she fired the energy ball towards Super-Reaper.

Dee was able to see it coming as the monster managed to phase out of the way and let the blast plunge into the ground, igniting a large explosion in its wake. As soon as the beam of light faded, Super-Reaper landed on the ground and noticed that Mystic Celesta was gone. Super-Reaper's face contorted in irritation that he heard an echoing roar from another direction.

As soon as the abomination turned around, Super-Reaper saw another Holy Beam coming out of nowhere and blasted him head-on. Mystic Celesta levitated down and watched as the smoke cloud stirred and cleared.

"Yeah! Direct hit!" David cried out.

"We'll just have to find out." Ultima X replied to David's comment. However, deep down, he was just as giddy as the boy. YES, NICE SHOT, KARI!

"How do you like Kari now, ya pink bastard!" Kara shouted.

Sora gaped in shock over Mystic Celesta . "...I can't believe that's Kari!"

Falcomon was in awe at the sight of the mystic. "I know! She looks like she isn't even an Ascendant anymore."

"Yeah, like she's in a different league altogether from the rest of us," Sam said.

(Cue Way of the Mystic by morganstudios (0:00-2:25))

The smoke cloud then dissipated and Super-Reaper was revealed to be standing with arms crossed. But, now there were slight bruises inflicted all over his pink body. He growled under his breath and screamed over a minor injury.

Mystic Celesta merely hovered as she quickly flickered out of sight again. This caught Super-Reaper by surprise and he quickly pivoted to the other side to see the Ascendant giving him a death glare. The two warriors faced each other down and Mystic Celesta's presence made Super-Reaper slightly tremble.

Eris blinked thrice. "Whoa, did you see that?! I'm fast, but not that..."

Varuna nodded. "That puts my flash movements to shame!"

"Her speed increased! Did you guys detect her movements?!" asked WarAngemon.

BanchoLeomon sputtered. "Not at all! Kari might have a good chance on winning!"

"Good chance? I think she's got this clenched," Pikkan shook his head.

Brunhilde smirked. "Now show this thing what you got, Kari."

Sedna turned to Angemon X. "We should let Kari have this? We could still help."

"Only if she calls us in for support," Angemon X replied, trembling at the sight of the mystic.

Wow, she's even got Dimitri on edge. The Ice Senshi noted her boyfriend's anxiety.

"I'm glad I can make in time, everyone," Mystic Celesta turned and smiled to the others. She also kept one eye on Super-Reaper and made him flinch a little.

"No, aren't we glad to see you, Kari!" WarAngemon replied, deeply relieved to see her back.

Ultima X nodded to his former crush. "I never once thought you were dead!"

"I'm glad to hear you had faith I was alive. If it weren't for the Supreme Digi-Deities, I probably would've been gone. I was with them and my brother until now. Oh, and Takato's training with my brother came out just fine. Oh knows? They might be coming back sooner than later."

"Yo, aren't we glad to hear Chumley is doing good!" Kazu called out.

Henbu was relieved to hear news on Takato. "That's good to hear."

"Yeah, but they're really gonna miss out on us kicking D-Reaper's sorry butt!"

"Somehow, I kinda doubt that, MegaGargomon," Henbu said.

Yeah, I can see the differences on Kari's features now. No doubt she got training with one of those Supreme Digi-Deity guys. Brunhilde thought, keenly observing Mystic Celesta.

It's almost as I'm looking at a completely different person now. BanchoLeomon eyed the mystic warrior. Kari, you've certainly matured, not just in power but in your demeanor.

"Sora, Tai will be back as soon as I'm done with this monster."

Sora pumped her fist and encouraged her. "Don't show any mercy, Kari! He's caused enough pain and killed too many Digimon to be forgiven!"

The mystical Ascendant and the chaotic monster stood face to face. An evil sneer shaped across the Super-Reaper's ugly face.

"Ha, you come all this way to fight me," Super-Reaper remarked, laughing evilly.

"You're wrong."

"Why did you come here, then?!"

Mystic Celesta simply smirked and answered. "I'm here to kill you." In a calm and harsh tone uncharacteristic of the once gentle Kari.

A/N: Ooof, the Meta-Fusion wore off. What bad timing and no thanks to Daike's usual shenanigans costing them. KaiserGreymon also still being revenge-driven hurt their chances as well. And despite the others' intervention, the Super-Reaper juggernaut keeps going.

However, not for long! Cause Kari & Gatomon complete the mystic training. Mystic Celesta X is about to enter the fray and so far impressions are looking good. Credit to Ford1114 for writing out the Super-Reaper vs Mystic Celesta opening, the remainder of the fight he wrote out shall continue next chapter. Thanks to him, I have several chapters worth of battles ready to revise and incorporate into forthcoming chapters. That's less work and stress for me.

We return to Other World with Rika & Renamon, Izumi, and Tomoki meeting with Anubimon to convince releasing one Ascendant asshole from his hell prison.
