Chapter 35: The curtail falls
In the Dark Area OmnimonX and his three companions taking the opportunity to finally catch their breath. "Oh hell yeah, we did it," Apollomon cheered, "We kicked that ugly mothers ass."
"Don't get too cocky, Daemon's too damn powerful to be underestimated." OmnimonX told him, "I doubt he'd go down that easily."
"Wow, way to kill the mood. Don't be such a pessimist." Apollomon replied, "He just took four attacks to the face, no way he's getting up from that."
No sooner had these words exited the God Man's mouth the dark water began to churn, the waves crashing violently against the shore, The waters then parted revealing a severely pissed looking Daemon."You had to open your mouth didn't you?" Dianamon scolded her partner.
"You…" Daemon growled, "You four are staring to get on my nerves. Why, why won't you just die?"
"And let you rampage through what's left of the Digital World and Earth," UlforceVeedramon FM retorted, "Sorry pay, that ain't happening on my watch"
"To be fair I have no idea who you are, what I do know is that you're a bad guy and that's all the reason I need to kick your ass." Apollomon said smugly, "So come on then, get over here and I'll show you just why I'm just the guy to do it."
"You dare mock me…" Daemon snarled, "Very well then, but just know that you've brought this upon yourselves." A dark aura began radiating off of the Demons body and around him the dark waters began to change in to lines of data code that in began to wind themselves around the Demon Lords arm and absorbed into his body.
"What's he doing?" Dianamon wondered aloud.
Just then OmnimonX's eyes winded. "Oh no, he's trying to absorb the Dark Ocean." He then took several steps forward. "Daemon you have to stop, even you can't possibly handle that much power." He called out to the demon, "Even if you defeat us you won't last long enough to enjoy your victory."
"Maybe, maybe not." Daemon replied, "But even if it is true I'll still have the pleasure of surviving long enough to see you all dead."
A frown appeared under OmnimonX's mask. "Come on, we have to stop him." He told his comrades, "If he absorbs the Dark Ocean he'll become far too powerful for us to handle."
"Ain't gonna happen bro." UlforceVeedramon FM told him, "Lets take this guy out once and for all."
"Foolish abominations, you have no hope to defeat me." Daemon snarled, "Algol's Flame…" Another large orb of flames was launched from the demons mouth, seeing this Apollomon rushed past his comrades and positioned himself in front of them.
"Solblaster…" A burst of flaming energy was released from the frame on his back, the two attacks colliding with each other resulting in a large release of energy that nearly knocked the five Digimon off of their feet.
Recovering quickly, OmnimonX rushed at Daemon and unleashed a vicious swing of his sword, "Grey Sword…"
Grunting in pain Daemon went to swipe at OmnimonX only for the Royal Knight to leap out of the way revealing Dianamon who was preparing to fire another arrow. "Arrow of Artemis…" Releasing the string the metal projectile flew through the air and embedded itself in Daemon's shoulder.
"You wretch…" Daemon snarled. He wasn't given any time to react as UlforceVeedramon FM was soon upon him.
"Ulforce V Sabre…" The blue armored warrior cried out as he slashed at Daemon, the holy blade cutting into the demons shoulder and slicing his arm clean off.
"Alright, nice one UlforceVeedramon." Apollomon cried out. His celebrations however was short lived as several data strings emerged from Daemon's stump and attached themselves to the severed limb within seconds his arm was reattached.
"N…no way…" UlforceVeedramon FM exclaimed. Letting out a low growl Daemon lashed out at UlforceVeedramon FM and slashed him across the chest.
"Damn, he's absorbed so much data he can now regenerate." OmnimonX said, his tone serious.
"What if we got him away from the water,"Dianamon suggested, "We'd probably have a better chance to take him down if he can't absorb anymore data."
"Great idea Dianamon," Apollomon said, he then added, "I love how smart you are."
"S…shut up…" Dianamon retorted, embarrassment in her voice.
"Save the flirting till later you two, we're on the clock." OmnimonX told the two Olympus Twelve members, he then looked over at Dianamon, "I guess it's worth shot, so lets try it."
"Yosh, so lets do this already." Apollomon said, a sly grin forming under his mask, the three of them then charged forward at Daemon, OmnimnX and Dianamon's weapons at the ready.
Whist this going on UlforceVeedramon FM was still on the ground, glaring up at Daemon, a dark aura enveloping the Demon Lord's fist . Before he could act however Apollomon appeared as if out of nowhere and leapt at Daemon, knocking the demon away from UlforceVeedramon FM.
"Phoebus Blow…" The God Man cried out as he repeatedly slammed his burning fist into Daemon's chest. Letting out a snarl the lion man grabbed the Demon lord and threw him towards where Dianamon was standing on the edge of the shore, his partner hooked Daemon with her scythe and hurled him back on to the beach where OmnimonX was. The Royal Knight set upon Daemon with his sword, the demon catching the blade with his hands.
"Is that really the best you've got?" Daemon told the white knight Digimon.
OmnimonX didn't reply, he merely pointed his Garurumon cannon at the Demon Lord. "Garuru Cannon…" The barrel began to glow with energy before unleashing a large burst of energy that knocked the demon into the air and sent him flying. Not leaving his opponent a moment to recover OmnimonX raced after Daemon as he hit the ground, firing off several more shots from his cannon.
"Algol Flame…" Daemon fired several burst of flames from his mouth to block the shots from OmnimonX's cannon.
"Nice try, but your gonna have to do better then that." Daemon said as he got back up to his feet.
"Perhaps but who says that I'm the one you have to be worried about." OmnimonX replied. This caught Daemon by surprise, before he could reply however a surge of pain ran through his body as a blade pieces his back. Glancing over his shoulder Daemon found UlforceVeedramon FM's standing behind him.
"What, don't tell me that you forgot about little ole me." The blue armored knight said, mock hurt colouring his tone.
"D…Damn you…" Daemon grunted in reply. OmnimonX was soon before the impaled Demon Lord, Apollomon and Dianamon at his side.
"Its over Daemon." The Royal Knight said sternly, his blade pointed at Daemon's throat, "I hope you've already made peace with yourself because you're about to meet your maker."
Back on Earth Ken was still trying to open a portal to the Dark Area whist the other Digidestined watched on with baited breath. It had been several minutes since the dark haired bearer of Kindness has started and so far nothing had happened. "This is stupid," Chazz groaned out, "I think its safe to say that this isn't working."
"Chazz, be quiet." Matt said in a firm tone.
"What, we've been standing around like idiots waiting for Mr. Emo to do something that is clearly beyond him. We're wasting time here."
"Hey shut up." Davis snapped at the dark haired Ojama duelist, "Ken can do this, just give him a minute."
"Back off twerp." Chazz growled back, "Why don't you be a good little kid and go play in the dirt and get out of my face "
"Why don't the pair of you knock it off." Sora told the pair.
Before anyone could say anything else Ken suddenly fell to his knees sweat pouring from his brow. "Ken, are you ok?" Kari asked as she and the other member of the Digidestined hurried over to their friend's side. "I'm…I'm sorry you guys, I tried but I can't do it…" Ken gasped out as her wiped sweat from his face.
"Its ok Ken, you tried your best." Wormmon told his partner.
"Its not ok Wormmon," Ken retorted, "Even though my friends are in trouble I can't do anything to help."
"Hey, don't beat yourself up Ken." Davis said, trying his best to sound encouraging, "You just have to dig deep and try again, I know you can do it."
"No Davis, he can't." TK said in a thoughtful tone. This resulted in the other members of the team turning their attention on him.
"What are you saying TS, that we should just give up on trying to get to Tai and Jaden?" Davis demanded, grabbing the blond by his shirt collar, "But y'know whatever, why don't we just quit and go chill at the card shop, I mean sure our friends could be in real trouble and all but maybe we could score some cool cards."
"Actually Davis, before you interrupted me I was about to suggest that maybe were going about this all wrong." TK said in a serious tone, "Maybe the reason Ken can't open the portal is because he doesn't have the power to do it by himself. Further might I suggest if we were to united our power it might be enough to open a portal."
"….oh…" Davis replied, a sheepish look on his face, he then let got of TK.
"You really think that could work?" Syrus asked.
"I honestly don't know," TK told the second shortest member of the team, "However I think its a better alternative to standing around watching Ken trying to kill himself."
"I say we try it." Alexis said firmly, "Its not like we've got anything to lose by doing so."
"I agree." Sora added.
"I'm game." Mimi spoke up.
"Ok then, lets do it then." Matt said in his best leader voice.
Without any hesitation all the gathered members of the Digidestined took out their Digivises whilst Ken got back to his feet, pointing them at the sky and began digging deep they began to channel the power of their respective crests through the devises. Slowly the screens flared into life and a swirling vortex of energy appeared above them, small at first but gradually growing larger.
In the Dark Area OmnimonX and UlforceVeedramon FM had Daemon at their mercy, just as the white armored Digimon was about to deliver the final blow a portal appeared in the sky. "Huh, what the heck is that?" OmnimonX exclaimed as his attention was diverted to the swirling mass of energy in the sky.
This proved to be a mistake; one that their quarry was quick to capitalise on. With the four of them distracted Daemon aimed a kick at OmnimonX's chest knocking him back. This was then followed by head butting UlforceVeedramon FM leaving him momentarily dazed the Demon Lord took the opportunity to pull himself off of the dragon warrior's blade, once he was free Daemon released a large burst of energy that knocked the pair off of their feet.
"Oh my, what do we have here," Daemon said, "Why I do believe that is a portal and if I am not mistaken its leads to Earth. I must say this is an interesting development, I was planning to hang out here until the Digital World stabilized, however I get the feeling Earth would do nicely was well."
He then looked over at the fallen forms of OmnimonX and UlforceVeedramon FM. "Its been fun gentlemen, however it seems that I'm going to have to leave you now." He told them, "But I must say it's been most entertaining, lets do this again sometime." With that he then took to the air.
Grunting OmnimonX slowly got back up to his feet. "Guys we have to stop him," he told his companions, "If he gets to Earth there's no telling just how much damage he could cause."
Daemon was flying through the air when he felt something drop onto his back. "And where do you think your going?" Apollomon said in a low tone.
"Unhand me you stinking flea trap." Daemon growled at the God Man Digimon.
"Sorry, not happening." Apollomon replied; he then began punching the back of the demons head. Growling Daemon began trying to shake Apollomon off, he was so focus on this that he didn't notice Dianamon flying towards him until it was too late.
The female Olympus Twelve member's foot collided with Daemon's face knocking the Demon Lord out of the air and sent him crashing into the sand below. Grunting Daemon tried getting back to his feet when Apollomon knocked him back down by punching him in the face.
"I don't think so pal, you stayin down." Apollomon said, his tone firm.
Daemon was about to say something in response when he noticed Dianamon rushing towards him, her weapon at the ready, with out hesitation he rolled out of the way before the female Digimon's weapon could connect. A dark aura then began radiating off of the demon, the ground beneath him transforming into data bits and absorbed them into his body.
"What, he can even absorb the ground?" Dianamon exclaimed.
"Of course, this whole world is made from data." OmnimonX said as he and UlforceVeedramon FM approached, "If he gets any more powerful it's going to be next to impossible to beat him."
"Algol's Flame…" Firing a burst of infernal flames both all four of the heroic Digimon, the attack knocking them off of their feet and transforming a large patch of sand into glass.
"D…damn…that hurt…" Apollomon grunted.
"Understatement of the Millennium." Dianamon told him.
Groaning OmnimonX pushed himself up, supporting himself with his sword. 'Damn, that attack was crazy powerful…' he groaned, 'I don't know if we can survive another attack like that…'
"No more playing around, I was just gonna leave but then you done gone and piss me off," The Demon Lord snarled at them, "Now die. Algol Flame…" Another burning orb of hellfire was fired from the demons jaws, even larger then previous one.
"No…if we get hut by that we're done for…" OmnimonX exclaimed. Before anyone could do or say anything else a blue blur rushed passed them and UlforceVeedramon FM appeared before his fallen comrades.
"Tensegrity Shield…" he cried out, a barrier of holy energy appeared before him. The orb of burning death collided with the barrier, the force almost knocking UlforceVeedramon FM off his feet.
"ULFORCEVEEDRAMON!" OmnimonX cried out.
Back on earth the portal in the sky had grown larger and the other members of the Digidestined, unaware of their friends plight, we preparing to make their next move. "Ok, that should do it." Ken panted, even with his friends help opening the portal had taken a lot out of him.
"You think its stable?" Sora asked, "I want to get to Tai and Jaden as much as anyone but if we're not careful we could end up being transported who knows where. Or worse…"
"Well that just a risk we're gonna have to take." Davis said in a determined voice.
"Can't believe I'm gonna say this but Davis is right, our friends are in trouble and its up to us to help them." TK said, his tone matching his brunette teammate, he then looked over at Kari, "Kari are you ok with this, I mean the last time you were sent to the Dark Area…"
"I'm fine." The brunette bearer of Light responded bluntly, "I want to help my brother, that's the only thing that matters."
No sooner had she said these words, the screen of her D-arc suddenly flared into life, the devise also beginning to vibrate. "Huh, what's this?" she wondered aloud as she examined the devise. She quickly discovered that she wasn't the only one, looking over at her comrades found that they were doing the same.
"What is going on?" Syrus exclaimed.
"You got me short stuff, I barely understand how these things work." Hasselberry told his shorter comrade.
"Izzy…" Sora said to the red haired genius, hoping he would some idea to what was happening.
"Sorry Sora but I haven't the faintest idea what's happening." Izzy told her, "I'd almost say its like that time Angemon fought Devimon and he used the power of Digivises to borrow our power."
"Wait, that's it." Alexis spoke up, "Maybe there trying to tell us that we need to lend Tai and Jaden our power so they can defeat Daemon."
"No offense Alexis but that sounds a little far fetched," Chazz replied, "After all they're just a machine."
"Maybe, maybe not..." hearing his voice the gathered Destined turned to look at Izzy, "For a while I've had a theory that the Digivise is a physical symbol of the bond between us and our partners, what if it's more then that. What if they represent the bond we share with each other."
"Is that even possible?" Cody asked, looking down at the devise in his hand.
"Well its just a theory," Izzy replied.
"You know something I think you may have something there Iz," TK spoke up, "Remember when Angemon fought Devimon, he used the Digivises to borrow your power to defeat him."
"That's true," Mimi said, "Do you think its possible that we can use them to help Tai and Jaden?"
"Lets do it," Kari said, her tone firm, "Whilst we waste time talking my brother and Jaden could be in serious trouble. I'll do anything I can to help and if this is all I can do then so be it."
"That's all well and good Kar, but how do we do that exactly?" Chazz said offhandedly.
Kari said nothing, gripping her D-arc with both hands she closed her eyes, 'Please, I don't know if your sentient in someway but if Izzy is right and you can help my brother and Jaden then do so. Do whatever you need to do.' As she was doing this, a pink aura began to radiate off her body.
"Wha…what in Sam Hill is that?" Hasselberry exclaimed.
"I…I think she might be trying to channel the power of her Crest through her Digivise." Bastion.
"Quick, everyone do the same." Alexis said in her best 'teacher' tone, "If it's possible to channel our power to help Jaden and Tai then we should do it." she then mimicked the young brunette.
"Well, what are you waiting for." Sora told the others in a stern tone, "Get to it, we've got no time to waste."
One by one the other Digidestined began mimicking Kari's actions, some a little more hesitantly then others, within minutes different colored auras began radiating off of them, the energies being their respective Digivises. A beam of energy was then fired from the devises screen aimed at the portal above.
Whist this happening Joe and Zane were still making their way back to the Academy building when their own Digivises lit up and an aura appeared around them. "W…what's going on?" Joe exclaimed.
Zane said nothing, taking his D-arc off his belt and brought it up to eye level. Before he could examine it any further the screen flared and a beam of energy was released from it, a similar beam being released from Joe's D-arc as well.
The 18 beams of different colored energies raced through the sky towards the portal, entering the vortex.
Back in the Dark Area UlforceVeedramon FM was doing his best to withstand Daemon's attack, his shield beginning to crack under the strain.
Shakily OmnimonX got back up to his feet and tried to make his way towards his friend. 'Hold on Jay, I'm coming…' As he stumbled towards his blue armored partner a rainbow of colored energies emerged from the portal.
"Huh, what's that?" Apollomon exclaimed, seconds later he long with OmnimonX, UlforceVeedramon FM and Dianamon were engulfed.
'Whaa…what is this, what's going on…' UlforceVeedramon FM thought, however confusion he had was quickly silenced as he felt power flow through him, 'I…this power, I feel more powerful then before...' "SHINING V FORCE…" Letting out a cry the blue dragon warrior fired a beam of energy from the V shaped armor on his chest, the attack colliding with the shield that was holding back Daemon's attack, the combined attacks forced the orb of death back and knocking Daemon back.
"GET HIM!" UlforceVeedramon FM told his companions. Daemon was composing himself when both Dianamon and Apollomon came dashing towards him. "Arrow of Artemis…"/" Arrow of Apollo…" the two cried out, Dianamon firing several ice arrows whist Apollomon unleashed a barrage of flaming arrows from his jewels set into his gauntlets. The combined arrow attacks knocking the Demon Lord back even further.
"Damn you…" Daemon snarled as he tried to compose himself, however he wasn't given the chance as OmnimonX was soon upon him.
"Grey Sword…" The white armored holy warrior cried out, his blade piercing Daemon's body and exposing his core.
"I…I have had it…" Daemon snarled before unleashing another burst of dark energy, more of the sand beneath him being reduced to data bits. "Thats it...everyone dies!"
"Damn, he's absorbing more data…" Dianamon cried out.
"Don't just stand there, blast him. We need to stop him before he gets anymore powerful." Apollomon ordered, "Solblaster…" He then launched an orb of burning flame from the sphere on his back.
"Arrow of Artemis…" Dianamon followed her comrades lead, firing off another barrage of ice arrows.
"Ray of Victory…" UlforceVeedramon FM then fired another V shaped energy from his chest armor; the three attack collided with the energy that radiated from Daemon's body. OmnimonX was about to join in when suddenly UlforceVeedramon called out to him.
"OmnimonX, stop, don't attack yet." The blue armored Exhalted Knight told him.
"What are you talking about," OmnimonX retorted, "This maybe our one chance to defeat Daemon before he can become anymore powerful."
"I know, that's why you need to hang back." UlforceVeedramon FM told him, "This might be our only shot, we shouldn't just waste it. Apollomon, Dianamon and I will take care of his defense, you just wait for an opening and then when he's venerable take him out."
OmnimonX blinked a couple of times. Wow, I gotta say that's actually surprisingly well thought out."
"I like to think I have my moments." UlforceVeedramon FM replied.
"Ok, make me an opening and I'll finish him off." OnimonX told him.
"Pathetic…annoying insects…." Daemon snarled as he continued to absorb more data, "I'm…I'm gonna crush you all…"
"I don't think so pal, you're the one who's going down." Apollomon retorted, "Throw whatever you want at us, we're not backing down." A fiery energy began to radiate off of the God Mans body, the intensity of his attack becoming more potent.
Second by second the combined attack of all three Digimon began to penetrate more and more of the dark aura that surrounded Daemon's body, with a cry UlforceVeedramon FM, Dianamon and Apollomon dug deep and tapped into every last bit of power they had left and focused it into their attack, their strength of their attacks flared resulting in a surge of power that blew a hole in the aura surrounding Daemon.
"DO IT NOW…" UlforceVeedramon FM called out to his fellow Exalted Knight.
'Jaden…Sora…Kari…everyone…please, lend me your strength for one last attack…' Letting out a yell OmnimonX then charged forward, as he did a multicolored aura began to radiate off of his body and the runes engraved on his sword began to glow.
"No, I will not let it end this way…" Daemon growled, he then began charging up another attack, "Algol Flame…" gathering energy in his mouth the Demon Lord fired another large orb of burning death, undeterred OmnimonX charged on. As the large burning orb drew closer the white armored Digimon swung his blade and sliced the burning blade in two.
"W…what…" Daemon exclaimed, seconds later OmnimonX's blade pierced his chest and plunged into his core.
"This is the end Daemon, there's no escape for you this time." OmnimonX said, his tone stern, as he did his weapon began to glow with holy energy, "ALL…DE…LETE…!" As the holy energy coursed through him Daemon let out a cry of agony as it slowly consumed him.
"N…no, it can't end like this…I've come too far for it to end like this…" He then fixed OmnimonX with a cold glare, he then drove his clawed hand into the holy warriors chest causing his to let out a grunt of pain. "I…I won't go alone, if I die then I'm dragging your along with me."
"OMNIMON!" UlforceVeedramon FM cried out, his eyes wide in shock.
Daemon fixed his gaze upon OmnimonX, a twisted looking grin on the demon's face. "Kamiya...To the last, I grapple with thee;" He said as he locked his eyes with the Exalted Knights, "From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee…"
"Not happening freak face." In a flash UlforceVeedramon FM appeared, with a swing of one of his arm blades he severed Daemon's arm, the appendage quickly disintegrating. Seeing hat he was now free OmnimonX kicked the dissolving Demon Lord away, in an instant both Apollomon and Dianamon appeared at his side.
"Arrow of Artemis…"/" Arrow of Apollo…" the two Olympus Twelve members fired their respective arrow attacks, the two attacks being enough to finally finish the villain off, Daemon letting out an anguished cry as he vanished completely, a large cloud of data hung in the air for a few moments before it dissipating.
For a moment there was silence, the four tired and gasping Digimon stared at the spot where Daemon had been defeated. "We…we did it," UlfoceVeedramon said, "We actually did it, we finished him off."
OmnimonX let out a sigh of relief; it was finally over. The feeling of victory however was short lived as the sky once more clouded over, the waters grew violent and ground shook.
"Wh…what's going on?" Apollomon exclaimed, "I mean we won, so why is the world only now going crazy?"
"Best guess is that Daemon's defeat also released all the data that he absorbed." Dianamon informed him, "He'd absorbed so much that this place can't handle it, the whole area has become unstable."
"Oh that's just perfect, we beat up the big bad and our reward is to die horribly." Apollomon groaned.
"Hey cut out that kind of talk, we're not dead yet." UlforceVeedramon FM told them, he then pointed up at the portal that still hung in the air, "Besides incase you forgot we still got a way out of here."
No sooner had these words left his lips the portal above them began to bend and distort. "You just had to go and jinx it didn't you." Apollomon said in a grim tone.
"Come on, we need to get out of here." OmnimonX told his companions before taking to the air.
"You can't be serious," Dianamon exclaimed, "That thing is unstable, you have no idea where it could lead if you if it even takes you anywhere, for all you know it could rip you shreds."
"You'd rather stand around here." OmnimonX replied, he then took to the air, UlforceVeedramon FM soon on his heels, he looked back at the pair who were still standing there, "You coming or not?"
Apollomon and Dianamon glanced at one another before following the two Royal Knights into the air.
The four of them raced towards the portal that continued to fluctuate as they approached, the swirling vortex threatening to collapse in on itself any moment. Pushing themselves the foursome entered the swirling mass, seconds later the opening they had entered destabilised completely and collapsed on itself.
'This isn't good,' OmnimonX thought grimly, 'We need to get to the other side and soon, if not this place collapses completely we'll be stuck who knows where for the rest of eternity…'
As they continued to fly through the vortex both Dianamon and Apollomon began to feel strange, as if something was crawling beneath their armor. Before either of them could question what was going on a sudden surge of pain passed through them, as if they had been punched in the gut. For Dianamon it was enough for to come to a halt. Apollomon however had much worse. The Sun god was knocked off course and quickly fell behind.
"A…Apollomon!" Dianamon cried out.
"Don't worry about me, keep going." The fiery Digimon told her, 'Damn, what just happened? One moment I was fine and the next it was as if that Teme shoved his hand through my chest again…' He shook his head, 'No time to think about it now. Worry about it later after your out of here…'
He shot forward; it didn't take long for him to catch up to Dianamon again and the two of them headed after OmnimonX and UlforceVeedramon FM once more. As the four of them flew on the corridor of swirling energies began to bend and distort around them.
"This isn't looking good." UlforceVeedramon FM commented.
"Understatement," OmnimonX replied, just then the end of the corridor came into view, "Come on guys, just a little bit more."
Back on earth the remaining Digidestined could only watch as the portal on their end also began to distort. "Wh…what's going on?" Sysrus exclaimed.
"That thing up there suddenly started goin all screwy." Hasselberry added.
Izzy quickly set to work on his palmtop analyzing the portal after a few second his brows furrowed and a frown spread across his face. "This isn't good guys," he told the others, "According to these readings something has caused the portal to become unstable, it could collapse in itself at any moment."
"WHAT!" everyone exclaimed.
"Izzy please, tell me your joking." Sora said, doing her best to beat down the rising panic that was beginning to creep through her body, "Cos if you are it a really poor one."
"I wish I was joking Sora," Izzy told the Bearer of Love.
"Isn't there any way can stabilize it?" Ken asked.
"This isn't a normal Digital Gate, this portal was opened by using our crest's power to forcibly penetrating the barrier that separates our two worlds," Izzy said, "Even if we did use more of our power the energies of the portal are now so unstable that doing so would more then likely just speed up the process."
"Are your saying that there's nothing we can do except stand here and watch?" Matt demanded.
"But Izzy what about my brother and Jaden," Kari said, fear creeping into her voice, "What will happen to them if they enter that portal?"
"I...I really don't know Kari." Izzy told her, "If they're travelling through the portal and when it collapses they could be lost forever in some kind of limbo state. Or worse…"
"Hold on, if I'm understanding what you're saying, even if Tai and Jaden beat Daemon they could still be trapped in the Dark Area." Davis spoke up, "Or they could get stuck inside the portal and be lost forever."
"That's about the long and short of it Davis." Izzy replied.
"Ah man, this bites." Davis groaned, "Our friends are in major trouble and there's nothing we can do to help them."
"Jaden…" Syrus said in a downcast tone.
"Hey guys, I might be off the mark here but I think something's going on up there." Hasselberry spoke up whilst pointing up at the portal.
Looking up they were in time to see four glowing streaks of light emerge from the portal seconds before it closed. "Wh…what was that?" Yoilie gasped.
"Do think it might be Tai and Jaden?" Mimi asked.
"I don't know, it might be but if it is they're not alone." Bastion pointed out.
"Come everyone, if it is Tai and Jaden then we've got nothing to worry about." Matt told them, "But if it isn't…we need to be prepared in case of trouble."
Above OmnimonX and UlforceVeedramon FM were soaring through the blue skies over Academy Island. "Hey check it out, we're back." UlforceVeedramon FM called out, "We actually made it."
OmnimonX didn't say anything at first; he just took in the sight that was spread about before him. 'We're home, we were able to defeat Daemon and make it home…' He then looked over at his brother in arms. "Come on, lets not keep the others waiting."
The pair then tore off with Apollomon and Dianamon not far behind, after a quick lap around Academy Island in an effort to locate their fellow Destined. "There they are, I found their energies." UlforceVeedramon FM said, he and OmnimonX then made a beeline for their friends location.
Sora and the other watched as the streaks of light came closer towards them, as they drew images of OmnimonX and UlforceVeedramon FM coming into view. "It…its them…" Syrus gasped out.
"Alright, that means they did." Davis cheered, "They were able to beat Daemon."
"Tai…" Kari said, tears of relief and joy beginning to roll down her face.
Both OmnmonX and UlforceVeedramon FM touched down, the moment they did a glowing energy was given off from their bodies. Two Exalted Warriors vanished from view and in their place stood Tai with Agumon and Jaden with Monodramon, hearing the sound of approaching footsteps the pair looked round and saw the other members of the Digidestined running towards them.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Tai said casually.
Before anyone could say anything else Kari launched herself at her brother and wrapped her arms around him. "Tai, you big dummy." She said as her buried her head in his chest.
It wasn't long before they found themselves surrounded by the other members of the group and were bombarded by comments from them, ranging from words of congratulations on their victory to comments how stupid they were for going off on their own. Tai took in the sight of all his friends around him.
"Guys, thank you…" he told them, "You may not be have been there at my side during the fight but you were still there when I really needed you, if it weren't for all of you there's no way Jay and I would have been able to beat Daemon."
"Tai, you don't need to thank us." Matt told him, "Friends are there for each other, to support each other in any way we can. However next time if you even think about leaving us out of the fight you got another thing coming."
"I'll bare that in mind." Tai replied.
It was then the other streaks of light that had emerged from the portal came back around and headed towards the gang. "Oh man, I totally forgot about the other things that came out of the portal." Davis groaned.
"Get ready guys, this could be trouble." Matt said in a firm tone.
"Hey chill out bro, your gonna mess your hair up." Jaden told the Barer of Friendship.
"Don't worry, these guys are with us." Tai added, "They were a big help back in the Dark Area."
The two streaks of light passed overhead and touched down not too far away, however Instead of Apollomon and Dianamon standing instead were two humans and a pair of Digimon.
One was a blond guy clad in an orange and black outfit, his most striking features however were his sky blue eyes and the three marks that were on each of his checks giving him the appearance of whiskers. At his side was a small orange furred feline Digimon, a flame burning on the tip of its tail as well as a second flame that was radiating off its forehead.
The other was a green eyed girl with a larger then average forehead that sported a dark blue diamond shaped mark, shoulder length bubblegum pink hair that was held back by a red headband; she was wearing a red shirt and black bicycle shorts with a beige skirt worn over the top. Beside her was a small white almost rabbit like creature, with seemingly two sets of long ears and covered in crescent moon shaped markings.
"Hey Sakura-chan does this place look familiar to you, this doesn't look like any part of the Elemental Nations that I've ever seen." The blond asked his pink haired teammate.
"Me either, I don't think we're back in our own world Naruto." The pink haired girl replied.
"Um, hi guys." Hearing a voice the new arrivals looked round and found our hero's walking towards them.
"Who are you?" the blond asked.
"I think that's our lne." Jaden said, "I never figured that Apollomon and Dianamon would also be Digidesined."
"Where are we, what happed to Omnimon and UlforceVeedramon?" the pinkette asked.
"Well the answer to your first question is your on Academy island, I'm Taichi Kamiya and I was OmnimonX and Jaden here was UlforceVeedramon Future Mode." Tai told them, "I take it you guys also have names right?"
"We must really be in another world, cos there's no way you couldn't know who I am." The blond said in a cocky tone, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki, the worlds most badass ninja and the future Hokage. This here is my partner Coronamon."
"S'up guys." The chibi fire lion greeted them.
The pink haired girl rolled her eyes at the pairs antic before bowing respectively to Tai and the others. " Hello, I am Sakura Haruno. And this is Lunamon."
The small white Digimon followed her partners actions. "Its nice to meet you."
AN And there we have it everyone, chapter 35 (or rather chapter 34 part 2) is fini.
So Naruto and Sakura huh, bet none of you saw that coming (and before you all ask me why its not Hinata, its because screw Hinata), and before you all ask yes i had planned along time ago for them to show up. If you really want to know my thoughts on Hinata and Naruto's conclusion you can find them in chapter 22 of my story Lost Son of Konoha.
Anyway we've done it my faithful audience, the end is now in sight. It has taken far longer then I've liked but we are almost there, only one or two chapters left (it will depend on how much I can squeeze into the next chapter), next time more guest stars (ones that are more series appropriate) and Tai's fate will be decided.
